Two Blue Lines Change Everything-Ch 18
Derek looked around a few minutes later when Penleope, JJ and Em walked back through the beaded curtain with her carrying an overnight bag, she wiped away the tears that were streaming down her face and said, "this is all that I could save" as she put the bag down in front of her on the floor.
JJ said, "whoever did this was very good, he or she destroyed almost everything that she owned", Emily said, "don't worry PG, we'll go shopping and replace everything", Penelope weakly smiled and said, "thanks Em", Dave said, "are you ready to head out kitten?", she nodded her head yes and leaned down to get her bag but stopped when Derek said, "here sweetness, let me".
She smiled at him and said, "thanks angelfish", he winked at her and said, "no problem goddess, no problem at all", the team then walked across the room and out into the hall where Derek locked and then shut the door before they all walked back down the hall that led to the elevator, when the double doors opened they stepped on and Reid hit the button for the first floor seconds before the doors closed.
When they stepped off of the elevator downstairs Derek said, "Jayje, can you and Em take baby girl to my car, I need to talk to Hotch about something?", Emily said, "sure, no problem" as she reached and took Penelope's bag and then led her to the car with JJ following along behind the two of them.
Derek waited until Penelope was out of earshot and said, "come on now, we all know who did this, it was Kevin, only he would want to destroy everything that she had because she broke up with him and doesn't want him in her life anymore", Reid said, "oh we have no doubt that it was Kevin, but right now what we need is proof".
Hotch said, "tomorrow I'll get a tech to go over the cameras in this area and inside the building and see what she can find", Derek nodded his head and said, "we have to protect her man, we can't let this happen to her", Dave said, "we all agree with you son, don't worry we will keep ehr safe, we will bring that psycho down, I promise".
Reid said, "right now she's so vulnerable right now and he knows it and he's gonna use every trick fair and not fair to cause her pain and try to force her back together with him", Derek said, "thats never gonna happen, she'll never get back together with him again, not ever, pretty boy, not ever", Reid raised his hands and said, "wasy Morgan, I'm on your side, I know that you and Garcia belong together, Kevin is a creep and he broke her heart, you are her best friend and you love her so you two belong together".
Derek blew out a deep breath and said, "sorry Reid, I didn't mean", Reid raised his hand and said, "don't worry, I know you didn't mean it, you're on edge right now, we all are and after what happened tonight Penelope is gonna be scared and more vulnerable that she was before so we all have to be there for her".
He nodded his head and said, "that we do pretty boy, that we do", Dave said, "you better get kitten home now son, take care of her and if anything else happens don't hesitate to call us", Derek nodded his head and said, "don't worry I won't let anything happen to her, I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe" as the four men then turned around and walked out of the building and down the sidewalk that led to their cars.
Penelope was sitting in the car talking to JJ and Emily when the others walked over, Derek said, "you ready to head home baby girl?", she looked up at him and nodded her head yes, she then hugged JJ and Emily and said her goodnights to the team before shutting her door and putting on her seatbelt.
The team stood there watching as Derek's truck disappeared out of sight at the corner, Dave and Hotch looked at each other as Hotch said, "we all know that Kevin did this so we will pull out oall of the stops to prove it and when we do we'll make him pay for everything he's done to Garcia", they all nodded their heads yes in agreement before separating and heading to their own cars to head home for the night.
