Two Blue Lines Change Everything-Ch 21
While the bride and groom to be were getting dressed, Fran and the girls were busy working on a meal to celebrate the wedding of Derek and Penelope, the girls were working on the meal while Fran was busy working on a cake, she was a little sad that their cake was so small but they were in a hurry and any cake would be fine so she fixed a two tier cake and was just finishing up with the decorating when Derek walked into the kitchen.
He walked over to her and said, "mommaaaa, that's beautiful, how did you get it done so fast?", Fran hugged her son and said, "I was motivated, it's not everyday that my baby boy marries the love of his life, I want today to be special and I know this cake isn't much but it will have to do on such short notice", Derek pulled her into his arms and hugged her tight and said, "it's beautiful, thank you".
The cake was a two tier vanilla cake, it had a bride and groom standing under an archway, it was beautiful and Derek knew that Penelope would love it as much as he did, Sarah and Desi smiled at their mother as they finished putting the finishing touches on dinner, Derek said, "everything smells and looks amazinggggg" as he looked at all of the food that was placed in the warmers to keep it all warm until they could get back home to enjoy it.
Sarah, Desi and Fran then excused themselves to hurry up and get dressed, they didn't want to miss a second of this wedding that they had been waiting all of their lives for, when they came back down Derek said, "are you ready to go momma, Penelope and the girls will be down in a few minutes?", she said, "ohhhh yeah, I'm ready, let's get this show on the road".
A few minutes later Penelope came down, her hair and makeup was beautiful but her dress, well it was covered under the coat JJ and Emily had brought over, they didn't want Derek to see the dress before the wedding, after all of the bad luck they had been having, they couldn't and wouldn't take any chances at all.
Dave glanced down at his watch and said, "alright, let's get a move on, we don't want to be late", everybody nodded their heads yes as they hurried out the door, the entire family, including Henry and Jack were dressed, ready and in the car heading toward the courthouse right now, they were all excited to see Derek and Penelope get married.
At the courthouse a little while later the family headed down the corridor toward the judges chambers, the clerk looked up and smiled and said, "can I help you?", she then saw Dave step forward and she said, "ohhhh Dave, he's waiting on all of you inside, please go right on in", Dave said, "thanks Marcia" as the entire family followed him toward the door.
Dave knocked and judge Kane said, "come in", Dave opened the door and stepped inside, he was then followed by the rest of the family, when they were all standing in front of the judge he said, "alright, let's get the bride and groom right here in front of me" as he walked over to stand in front of his desk.
Across town Kevin was all smiles as he pulled a small black box out of his pocket and opened it up, he looked down at the ring and said, "once I get Penelope here she won't be able to stop me from making her my wife and then me, her and our baby can and will be one bifg happy family and their won't be anything that Derek or her precious team can do about it".
As he looked around the room he laughed evilly, he would get Penelope here, he would chain her up and keep her to himself, once he got his hands on her he had no intentions of letting Derek or the others see her ever again, he couldn't wait to be able to spend the rest of his life with his plumsauce, she was the only woman he had ever loved and he knew now how stupid he was to have ever cheated on her.
Meanwhile at the courthouse JJ helped Penelope off with her coat and Derek said, "baby girl, you look amazinggggg" as he eyed her from the top of her head down to her beautiful shoe covered feet, the judge said, "this ceremony was called on short notice but do you have rings?", Derek looked at Penelope and opened his mouth to say no but Fran said, "yes, yes they do" and handed the judge two wedding bands.
Derek looked at Penelope and then his mom and said,"but ma, those rings belong to you and pops", Fran said, "your father would want you to have these rings and so do I, it's not everyday that you get married to the woman that completes you", Derek sighed and said, "thank you ma" as he hugged her tightly before turning to face his bride.
Judge Kane said, "alright, are we ready to get started?", Derek and Penelope intertwined fingers and said, "we are" in unison, the judge smiled at the bride and groom to be and opened his mouth to get the ceremony started and said, "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join together in the bonds of holy matrimony Derek Michael Morgan and Penelope Grace Garcia", all attention went then from the judge to the bride and groom as he readied to continue.
