Two Blue Lines Change Everything-Ch 41
Penelope watched as Marvin got up and started making his way toward her, he stopped in front of her and said, "Mrs. Morgan?", Penelope said, "yes?", he smiled and said, "why exactly are you here, can you tell me?", she looked at Kevn and then at Marvin and said, "because of what your client did to me".
Marvin said, "can you please tell us all what he did to you?", Penelope told about him kidnapping her, chaining her up and attempting to rape her, Marvin said, "okay, let's back up for a second, did you or did you not date my client?", Penelope said, "I did, off and on for quite a while as a matter of fact".
Derek watched Marvin as he leaned in to Penelope and said, "and why did the two of you supposedly break up the last time?", Penelope said "he cheated on me, I caught him with another woman and I ended things with him", Marvin looked over his shoulder at Kevin and then back at Penelope as he readied to continue his examination.
He sighed and said, "okay, so after you broke up with Kevin, how long were you a single woman?", Penelope looked at Karen as she stood up and said, "objection your honor, what's her relationship status got to do with this trial, they were broken up, that's all that needs to be said", the judge said, "sustained", he then looked at Marvin and said ,"move on", Marvin said, "yes sir".
Penelope looked at Marvin as he said, "okayyyyy so after you broke up with Kevin you what?", Peneloe said, "what do you mean what happened?", Marin said, "you and Kevin work for the FBI, correct?", she said, "right", Marvin said, "sooooooo you see Kevin at work, correct?", she said, "sometimes, yes, yes I do".
Derek was becoming more and more aware to what Marvin was hinting at, he was hinting about their relationship and when it started, he was going to try to say that she was with him and that's the reason the relationship with Kevin ended.
Penelope looked up as Mrarvin said, "how long after you ended things with my client were you in bed with Derek Morgan?", Karen stood up and said, "objection your honor", the judge said, "why are you doing this line of questioning, we know that Mrs. Morgan got together with her now husband, so what's the point of trying to bring it up now".
Marvin said, "your honor I'm trying to prove that Mrs. Morgan cheated on my client with her now husband and that is what caused the relationship to end, not my clients so called cheating", the judge shook his head and said , "move on sir, move on".
Marvin blew out a deep breath and said, "alright, Penelope, please tell me what led to Kevin kidnapping you", Penelope then started telling the judge everything that had happened, how she had gotten in a relationship with Derek and how it wasn't long after that happened that she found out she was pregnant.
She continued telling about how during the time frame of her pregnancy that she wasn't sure who the father of the baby was, things then changed as Penelope told how Kevin showed up at Frans and attempted to make entrance into the house, she also told about how she had almost lost her baby because of everything Kevin had put her through.
The judge looked at Kevin in disgust and shook his head, his attention then turned back to Penelope as she told how her family kept her and the baby safe from Kevin and how relieved she was that everything was okay with her pregnancy now, Marvin said, "so have you thought of having tests done to see who the father of your child is?", she said, "I was going to but with the problems with my pregnancy early on the doctor told me it wasn't advised for me to have the test".
Derek smiled at her as she said, "when the baby is born, if tests are needed then we will have them done", Marvin said, "what do you mean if any tests are needed?", Penelope looked at the judge and then at Marvin and said, "I'm sure that you can tell the difference between my husband and Kevin, can't you?", Marvin said ,"yes, of course I can.
Penelope said, "well when he or she is born we might not need testing done", Kevin sat back in his seat and shook his head no, he then said, "NOOOOO, that baby is mine, that baby is mine, you can't take my baby away from me, we are suppose to be a family Penelope, you me and this baby are a family".
A sharp pain went through Penelopes stomach and she winced out in pain, the judge said, "Mrs. Morgan, are you alright?", she said, "I'm I'm having sharp pains in my stomach", seconds later another pain hit and this one was harder, she looked at Derek and then at the judge as he said, "please get the medics to check her out".
The bailiff said, "yes sir" and stood up to walk out of the room, the judge said, "Mrs. Morgan, we will call for a break so that the medics can check you out", he looked into the back of the room and said, "Mr. Morgan, you can come and help your wife", Derek grinned and said, "yes sir, thank you" as he made his way toward his baby girl.
Derek helped her up out of her seat and they had taken two steps when a warm bloody gush of fluid puddled at her feet, she looked up and said, "my water just broke". Derek picked her up and said, "hang on sweetness, hang on", the judge jumped up and said, "bring her this way', Kevin watched with a smile on his face as the judge, Derek and Penelope disappeared out of the room and into the judges chambers/
Security cuffed Kevin and removed him from the courtroom, Marvin looked at Karen and said, "something tells me that we are about to reunite Kevin with his child", Karen laughed and said, "don't be delusional, we'll wait and see but I think you're wrong, I think that the father is in there with Penelope right now".
Kevin's father sat listening to their conversation, he pulled out his cell and said, "if things go the way I want them too, today will be my first day with my grandchild, be close and be ready", the voice on the other end said, "yes sir", seconds later the call ended.
Reid wasn't liking the smile on Kevin's father's face, he leaned in and said, "something's up, we better get more security here", Hotch nodded his head in agreement and pulled his cell from his belt and made the call, he hoped that Reid was wrong but where Penelope and her baby was concerned they weren't going to take any chances, none at all.
