Two Blue Lines Change Everything-Ch 43
Penelope collapsed against her husband and looked up as her mother-in-law reached for the scissors in the first aid kit, she cut the cord and reached with one hand and grabbed the blanket, she put the baby in it and smiled up again at Derek and Penelope.
Derek looked from Penelope to the baby in his mothers arms, Penelope said, "my baby, how's my baby?", Fran said, "congratulations you have a healthy baby boy", her smile widened and Derek said, "what are you smiling about ma?", Fran said, "not only did you get a son but I got a grandson".
Derek and Penelope looked at each other and then at Fran as she held up the baby and said, "congratulations son, I don't think you'll need the DNA tests now". She handed Penelope the baby and said, "here you go momma", she then stood back and snapped a couple of pictures of Penelope, Derek and their son.
The judge knocked on his office door and Fran said, "come in", the judge said, "congratulations", Derek and Penelope said, "thank you sir" in unison without looking away from their son. As the judge stepped forward he grinned when he saw the dark skinned little boy, he knew then and there that Kevin and his father wouldn't have a led to stand on with trying to take the baby away from his parents.
Out in the courtroom JJ, Emily and the rest of the family grabbed their cells when they started beeping, the beep was letting them know that they all had a message coming through, the clicked on the link and the women all said ,"awwwwwww" while the men all grinned at the pictures in front of them on their screens.
Kevin's father looked up as Dave stepped forward, Archibald said ,"what are you smiling about?", Dave said, "who, me, wellllllll I have a new grandson, would you like to see a picture of him?", Archibald said, "a grandson, so I have a grandson huh?", Dave held out his cell so that the man could see the picture of the little boy and said, "uhhh, no, you don't have a grandson but I doooooooo".
Archibald grabbed the cell and said, "nooooooo, this isn't how it's suppose to happen, this baby was suppose to be Kevins child, he was going to be my heir, my lifeline, my future", Reid stepped forward and said, "if I said I was sorry for you I'd be lying because after what you and Kevin have put Garcia through, you don't deserve to have that baby be his".
JJ smiled and said, "he's right, your son, your sick, sick son, kidnapped Penelope, chained her up in a room and was attempting to rape here when he arrived and saved her, noooo he's where he belongs, he's in jail and he's alone and trust me when I say he's gonna be in prison for a long long time".
Archibald blew out a deep breath and said, "I don't need to hear your threats agent, so if you will excuse me I'm leaving", Dave said, "ohhh please don't let us stop you, please, please go, go and don't make the mistake of ever bothering kitten or anybody else in my family again or you won't get off as easy as a prison sentence like your son is going to get".
The older man looked at Dave and said, "is that a threat agent Rossi?", Dave held up his hands and said, "threat, nooooo, I don't make threats, that, that is a promise because we love Penelope and her son and we will do whatever it takes to keep them both safe and happy so keep that in mind before you everrrrrrr think about her again".
Archibald said, "yeah yeah whatever" and the breezed passed the family and disappeared out of the courthouse, the team had found out later that day that he had given up on Kevin and told his attorney to get Kevin the best deal possible but that he was now and forever done with his son.
Fran walked out of the judges chambers and joined the others in the other room, Dave said, "how's kitten and the baby?", Fran said, "both mother and son are doing great", everybody was all smiles and high fiving because they knew that the baby in the other room with Derek and Penelope was indeed their son, he was their son and their was no way that Kevin or his father would ever be able to lay claim to him again.
Emily said, "did the medics make it?", Fran nodded her head and said, "yes, they are sewing her up right now and then they taking her to the hospital, I have already called her OB so she has Penelopes room ready and waiting on her", Fran then blew out a deep breath and said ,'"it's been a longggggg few hours".
Everybody nodded their heads yes and Desi siad, "but just think momma you finally got that grandbaby", Fran grinned as she looked down at the picture of the baby on her phone, she then looked up and said, "my first of many Desi, my first of many", it had been a long few hours and after what had happened to Penelope the judge had postponed the rest of the trial for a few days so that Penelope could be with her son.
