Two Blue Lines Change Everything-Ch 44
A few minutes later the family was all headed to the hospital behind the ambulance, well all of the family except for JJ and Reid and them, well they were heading down the corridor to have a little talk with Kevin about the birth of Derek and Penelope's son.
Kevin was cuffed to a table in one of the interrogation rooms as he waited on news from Marvin on what was going to happen, was the trial going to continue today, had Penelope given birth to their child, the next Lynch heir, those were just two of the questions that were swirling aorund in his head.
He was pulled from his thoughts when the door opened, he then watched as JJ and Reid walked through the door and made their way over to sit down at the table across from him. He sighed as he sat back in his seat, well it was obvious that they were here to talk, to tell him something so he finally said, "well, speak".
Reid said, "we're here to tell you that the trial isn't going to continue today, the judge is going to start it again in a few days due to Penelope going into labor and delivering in his chambers". Kevin started smiling, she had given birth, she'd had their child, he was a father now and he couldn't wait to see and hold his son or daughter.
He looked at the couple across from him and said ,"so do I have a son or a daughter?", Reid took great pleasure in saying "neither, you have neither", Kevin looked at him concusedly and said, "wait, you said that she'd given birth, so what did she have?", JJ said, "she had an adorable little boy".
Kevin blew out a deep breath and said, "a son, I have a son, that's wonderful news, I can't wait to see him, to hold him, my son is the next heir to the Lynch fortune". JJ shook her head and said, "Kevin I can promise you that Penelope's son isn't now or will he ever be a Lynch heir".
Reid grinned and pulled his cell off of his belt and pulled up the pictures of Derek, Penelope and their son and held the phone over so that Kevin could see them, Reid then took pleasure again in saying, "the child that Penelope gave birth to a few minutes ago isn't a Lynch, he's a Morgan as you can clearly see".
He shook his head and said, "no, no, noooooooo, he can't win, he can't beat me again, this was my chance to get Penelope back, the three of us were going to be a family and now, once again Derek Morgan spoiled everything, he ruined everythinggggggggg".
JJ said, "Kevin you were never going to be with Penelope, she married Derek, she loves Derek and nothing you can do or say will ever and I mean ever change that so the sooner you accept that the better things are going to be for you", Kevin then watched as they stood up and walked over to the door.
Reid opened the door and as they started out they ran into Marvin, Reid said, "you're too late, we've already shared the good news", Reid looked over at Kevin and smirked, he then looked at Marvin and said, good news for Penelope and Derek that is and for your client, not so good, well if you will excuse us we're going to go to the hospital and spend some time with Penelope and our nephew".
As they disappeared out of sight Marvin walked into the room and shut the door, he sat down across from Kevin and said, "I'm sorry Kevin, I'm sorry that things didn't do the way you or your father had hoped but before he left your father told me to get you the best deal so that's what I'm gonna do".
Kevin sat looking down at his cuffed hands and said, "I don't care what happens to me now, I've lost everything, I've lost Penelope, I've lost the baby, I've lost everything", Marvin sat feeling sorry for Kevin, he knew that before all of this happened he wasn't a bad buy it's just Kevin wanted things that wasn't in his control to get and that, that was his downfall.
For the next few minutes the duo sat there talking and making plans for a plea bargain, hopefully, just hopefully Kevin would see the light of day outside a prison again one day but now his life and future are in the hands of the judge and only time would tell how his life would continue and right now Kevin didn't really care either way because as far as he was concerned his life was over.
