CHAPTER 7: An electrifying love

Time had passed since Oshawott proposed to look for the perfect mate for him. He had made two failed attempts with Pidove and Snivy, but that didn't stop him to continue his search.

Days after Ash had won his third gym badge, he, together with Iris and Cilan, went to Nimbasa City for his fourth badge. In the trip, a girl called Bianca had joined. She was nice and very energetic. Four of them continued together until reach the next place that came first.

In a very cool day, Ash, Iris, Cilan and Bianca were lunching a delicious food that Cilan cooked. Everyone enjoyed it. Later, Iris wanted to give the dessert: freshly picked apples; but it seemed that they didn't like the idea so much, they wanted to eat something more gourmet than just simple apples. For Oshawott it didn't matter, he went out from his Poké ball and decided to eat one. They tasted really good. Approved by Oshawott. Iris was happy at least that someone liked the apples that she picked. She threw one to Axew, but it bounced on his nose and went rolling down to hill. He, like a good kid that he was, went running to search for it. The others had to go after him so he didn't get into trouble.

Later, the fruit stopped when it crashed against a rock stuck in the ground at the bottom of the hill, while Ash and company went going down. When they came closer to Axew, they saw that there was a new Pokémon in front of him with the apple on its paws. It was like a kind of yellow rodent, white and blackish, and it had some membrane in its arms. Ash scanned with his Pokédex and they knew that it was an Emolga. She seemed to be confused by the presence of humans around her. Afterwards, she said and very adorable attitude: "What cute guys we have here!" It seemed that she made beat the hearts of the Pokémon who were present, especially Oshawott. That voice, that fur, those colors, that shape, that adorable face. The otter thought that she was a very cute female Pokémon. Was that maybe his chance to get a mate?

The Sky Squirrel Pokémon gave to Axew the apple that he had been dropped down the hill, and the young dragon thanked. She later caressed him with her tail as she said that he was a good boy. Oshawott noticed that Emolga was very kind and affectionate with others. He knew that she was a very cute and nice girl. That made his heart beat even more.

Iris, as a gratitude for giving back the apple to the Tusk Pokémon, she said to her that she could take apples from her tray, and Emolga gladly accepted. However, nobody noticed that Bianca was running down the hill at great speed towards the flying squirrel, just to hug her tightly by so much cuteness that the girl felt. It was so much that she was making the electric-flying Pokémon uncomfortable, it even seemed that she was suffocating her. It seemed that the girl with the green hat wanted to belong Emolga, but the others said, if she wanted to catch her, she had to battle the Pokémon. Bianca accepted the idea as released the flying Pokémon from her arms; Emolga was almost out of breath from the tight hug.

Bianca took out her Minccino to try to catch Emolga. The battle began. The others saw how the battle was developing; Oshawott, meanwhile, was very thoughtful. He was thinking a lot about the sky squirrel. She was a very pretty girl that he had just met. It seemed that he was charmed by her, but he was still thinking. What if she was his girlfriend? It sounded like an excellent idea, but one thing was missing, something that triggered even more his love for her.

Just then, in middle of the battle, Bianca's Minccino used Hyper Voice that got Emolga vulnerable. Afterwards, he tried to use Tickle. But everything stopped by an Emolga's electric attack: Discharge. The move didn't only affect Minccino, but also the others that were behind from Bianca. She, Ash, Iris, Cilan, Pikachu, Axew and Oshawott got affected. The last one found what he was looking for, although he was in type disadvantage and the pain was immense, the love for Emolga didn't scorch, it continued growing and growing. It was like he accepted gladly that Discharge that would do so much damage to anyone. He was happy and in love, in the most painful way possible. It was decided, she was going to be his mate, and Oshawott would do anything possible to win her heart.

Bianca wasn't going to give up once the Discharge was over. She ordered to Minccino to use Attract. The Chinchilla Pokémon used that move to calm the flying squirrel down, but nobody expected that Emolga used Attract as well. Two hordes were going to opposite directions and coming closer. The surprisingly thing was that the hearts crashed, but Emolga's ones were stronger. Everyone was shocked. Emolgas's Attract hearts went directly to Bianca's Minccino. He was going to fall in love of her after the impact, but not in Oshawott's turn.

The Sea Otter Pokémon wanted that he was in love of her instead the chinchilla. Before that the hearts hit against Minccino, the water type came to him quickly and pushed him, taking him off from the circle of hearts. And thus, the one who received the Attract was Oshawott. After the impact, everything inside of Oshawott changed drastically. The love desire was in the clouds, everything inside him was complete love for her. He was completely in love for Emolga to the utmost. All the others were astonished by what they had seen.

Oshawott, while he was madly in love for Emolga, he went getting closer to her coquettishly, at the same time he said to her very loving things, asking also if she wanted to be Oshawott's mate. Meanwhile, on Emolga's side, she felt uncomfortable that a male Pokémon comes closer while flirted her. She knew that Attract left tame and stopped the opponent, but Oshawott's case was strange, instead of being still in the same place, he went getting closer to her as he declared his love.

Ash, meanwhile, thought quick and returned Oshawott to his Poké Ball to avoid more troubles. There goes the love for Oshawott. The infatuation effects were abruptly gone , that nice and pleasant warmth that he felt suddenly became cold, and he recovered his senses. It seemed that Oshawott had to stay in his Poké ball for a while, as if Ash was punishing him for his bad behavior in front of Emolga. The otter, with his mind coming back to normal, was a bit regretful and sad, he wanted to be next to his beloved Emolga a little bit longer, but he thought he went too far in his uncontrolled love behavior. He was still a young Pokémon. Oshawott had to control his love if he wanted to get the right girl for him. He didn't want that females like Emolga had a bad impression of him. The water type got calm and stayed all the time in his Poké Ball to think about what he did; even so, his love for the sky squirrel was still standing. He tried to look for some way to win her heart without going to the extreme, and he was thinking on what to do that so Emolga can be his mate.

Even though Oshawott was inside of his Poké Ball, he could still notice what happened outside. After Oshawott was returned to his Poké Ball, Emolga escaped to the forest and, Bianca went after her to catch her. Axew followed her as well, provoking that the others also followed Emolga. She and Axew went down a cliff unintentionally and Iris followed them to catch them and avoid any danger. The three were in a dark part of the forest, full of wild Pokémon, between them, some Swoobat, that attacked with Round. Iris and the two Pokémon had to get out from there to go to a safe place. While the other partners tried to go down the cliff as they could.

After several drawbacks, Ash, Cilan and Bianca could find, Iris, Axew and Emolga. They went to help, included Oshawott who had gone out from his Poké Ball.

After so much meditation, from that moment on, Oshawott tried to be more gentlemanly to win Emolga's heart in a good way. He would do for the love for her, and would show her that he was a worthy Pokémon for the flying squirrel. Showing himself the most imposing way possible once he took out his scalchop, ready for battle, he said to his love: "For my love!" and Emolga asked astonished: "Say what?" The otter knew that he would win her heart doing a heroic act, he just had to show them his best abilities to impress her. Sadly, he didn't do so much, or rather, anything, because he was attacked by a Charge Beam of a Swoobat that hurt him, and Ash had to return him to his Poké Ball.

Later, everything was solved and the Swoobat abandoned the place, while the guys came back to where were lunching. It was getting late. Oshawott was sad, he couldn't show to Emolga his abilities in combat and, on top of that, she was gone. It seemed that he had lost his girl. He was so close to get her. The destiny liked to play dirty tricks on him. He supposed he would never see her again. The water type was still very depressed by not getting his ideal girl. Maybe the next time he would get it. The others returned where the lunch table was and prepared the dinner. Cilan was going to do something exceptional just for this time: he brought apples to eat.

Suddenly, Emolga appeared and landed on Iris's hands. Oshawott, inside his Poké Ball, he could hear her voice. He was surprised, he thought that he was never going to see her again in his life. She returned, and not just that, he heard that she wanted to travel with Iris. Was she talking seriously? Was she really wanted to travel with her? As long as Iris and Ash don't break away from the group, Oshawott could win Emolga's heart again, and this time without fail. Iris accepted that the sky squirrel traveled with her, he took out a Poké Ball and touched Emolga with it, and later a successful catch was made. Oshawott couldn't believe it. The girl that he was in love was traveling with him. It was like the destiny wanted to give him a second opportunity, and he had to take it to his advantage. He finally would have the chance of getting a mate. Oshawott was happy. He had to be prepared and behave like a gentleman if he wanted to win her heart later on. He hoped that everything would go well.
