"Lulu, I can't see Johnny today! I have that dinner with Spinelli and his grandma! I'm stressed enough as it is! Why would you sign me up for that? I need a vacation!" Maxie Jones flitted across the main room in crimson, platform stilettos clicking across the linoleum flooring as she gathered her things.
"You can't at least say hello? Anything could jog his memory." Lulu whined, why was Maxie being so on edge?
"Well, I'll jog his memory some other time! If anything, you'd be the one to jog his memory. I haven't seen you smile this much in awhile. Johnny's always been good for you, I just wanna see you happy again." Maxie faintly smiled, glad that she'd found something to smile about. Lately, it had just been bad news after bad news.
"Alright, geez. I'll tell him another time but, Johnny and I will be at the apartment." Lulu chuckled, determined to stay in a good mood.
"Put a sock on the door if things get frisky." Maxie teased, earning a gasp from Lulu.
"MAXIE!"Lulu gasped in surprise, though being who she was talking to maybe she shouldn't be shocked at all.
"What? I know Johnny doesn't have his memories right now but, you're the first person who has felt familiar to him. Things could happen, you never know." Maxie smirked, heading to the elevator. Lulu wasn't left to think much on her best friends words, as when she looked up Dante Falconeri was standing in the doorway.
"What kind of flowers does you're sister like?" Johnny Zacchara asked, shoving his phone into the pocket of his jeans and grabbing the keys to his mustang.
"Oh, you're going to see Lulu? Lulu isn't like a normal girl...she likes roses but, despises red roses because they are basic. Lulu likes creativity and effort and knowing that you care. This is something that you told me when I went to see her in the hospital after she almost drowned. You seemed to know her better than anyone else and vice versa." Ethan wasn't the least bit surprised that they were seeing each other, maybe she could help him.
"Yeah, she called me last night. I thought we'd see each other soon but, I wasn't expecting to see her again this soon. It sounds like we were important to each other, thanks for telling me. I'll see you later." Johnny wondered why he and Lulu didn't work out but, knew better than to ask a woman that...even in these circumstances.
"Have fun Zacchara, I'm sure I don't have to tell you to watch the road." Ethan smirked, wondering if anything would happen between them tonight.
"I'll be alright, have a good night Lovett." Johnny chuckled, leaving the apartment.
"Oh I will, I've got a Russian model waiting on me." Ethan smirked, texting the broad in question to find out if she had landed in Port Charles yet.
Johnny stepped foot into Wyndham's department store earning stares and whispers from his fellow shoppers but, he didn't pay any attention to them as he wanders to the flower section. Upon looking over the fresh selection, he spots a bouquet of orange Poppy's...which would be sure to catch her eye.
"Alright, it's about five right now." Johnny checked his watch, before driving to The Metrocourt hotel.
"What the hell are you doing here, Dante?" Lulu snapped, and heard the elevator ding followed by footsteps.
"Lulu, I just want to talk. We can't at least talk?" Dante frowned, Lulu knew that it was probably Johnny who had gotten off the elevator.
"Johnny Zacchara! I'm so glad to see you walking around town again, my name's Kate Howard. Crimson is my magazine." Lulu's boss extended her hand out to Johnny, who shook her hand.
"I've seen you around, it's nice to meet you. Thank you." Johnny says, keeping his tone polite just like always had when making small talk.
"I had a favor to ask you, if that's okay? Crimson has a fashion event and I wanted to give Lulu a chance to represent Crimson since I gave that chance to Maxie last time...to make things equal. I was wondering if you would escort her? I'm sure I could find someone else but, you and Lulu have a history." Kate breezes through her words, Johnny wondered if the woman ever took a breath.
"I don't mind, just let me know when. I'll clear my schedule." Johnny immediately answered with no hesitation.
"Yay! Thank you Johnny, you were always so helpful." Kate smiled, earning a light smile from Lulu as well.
"He may not have his memories but, he sure as hell remembered you. What is it you think you're doing?" Dante snapped at Lulu, earning an eye roll from her.
"I don't like the way you're talking to Lulu, don't be a prick. I'm not going to pretend that I know who you are but, she obviously doesn't want to talk to you. Instead of making a scene, why don't you just leave?" Johnny got the sense he didn't like this person, at all.
"Maybe I don't like you being here." Dante went to step forward, only to be pulled back by Kate.
"You'll have to excuse my nephew, he can be a bit of a bitch. Just like his mother. Dante, Lulu broke up with you for a reason. Why don't you do me a favor and leave my employee alone?" Kate crossed her arms, pressing her lips into a thin line.
"This is the prick you were telling me about?" Johnny whispers to Lulu, earning a loud laugh from Lulu.
"Sadly, yes. Johnny this is Dante...you two don't like each other. At all. The streak continues." Lulu shook her head, finally noticing the bright orange flowers in his hand.
"Are those for me?"Lulu softly asked, it was just like Johnny to get her flowers just because.
"They are. I thought that you deserved something nice, Lovett mentioned that you'd been having a hard time recently." Johnny explained, enjoying the smile that lit up her face.
"Thank you! I'll admit these past few months haven't been easy and have kicked my ass but, if all of the hardship means it leads to this moment? I'd go through it all again. Doesn't mean I want to, just to be clear." Lulu smiled, wrapping her arms around him without much warning.
"I think I just got a deja Vu moment." Johnny thinks to himself, as he wrapped his arms around her returning the hug. Something played at the edge of his vision, an image stretching into his view.
September 2009
"Johnny?" Lulu Spencer's eyes widened at the sight of him, jumping up from the spot she was sitting at on Elizabeth and Lucky's house and running across the yard to where Johnny stood, with a light smirk on his face. Johnny caught Lulu in his arms, tenderly kissing the top of her head. They hadn't seen each other in such a long time...there were no barriers. Johnny wasn't behind bars and she wasn't staring at four walls in a psych ward...they were finally free.
"Finally." Johnny sighed into her blonde hair, holding her in his arms and kissing her lips as someone came outside.
"Mmm later. Later. I want you to meet my mom." Lulu promised with a smile, reluctantly pulling away from him...an older blonde woman stood a few feet from them, with the same bright hazel eyes that Lulu shared.
"Oh my god, it's good to finally meet you Mrs. Spencer." Johnny was flustered, earning a light chuckle from Laura.
" Oh please, call me Laura. Thank you for taking care of my daughter when I couldn't, when Luke and I couldn't." Laura was greatful.
"I'm not sure if it's me who takes care of her, or her who takes care of me."
Johnny was suddenly snapped out of the memory, to Lulu looking at him concerned.
"I just got a memory .."
