It turns out Haruka was gonna be in UA. In one of the business courses. I tried not to show it but I was a little more excited and happy to know that she'll be there, even though she'll be in a completely different course in another corner of the massive school building, just knowing she's there is enough.
"My ma told me that I should get the best of the best since she thinks this'll help me get the future I want." Yes she did spend a lot of time with me and I did speak about my mum a lot so she started saying it the same way that I do as a joke.
She giggled at me trying to play off the situation like I wasn't paying attention and completely unbothered. "That's cool, knowing that we're going to the same schools again." they had also went to the same middle school and junior high. She was the first person that truly tried talking to me.
"Yeah, I bet you would have been lonely so now I'm here." I shrugged my shoulders and moved past her quickly,
"Didn't you just say your ma recommended this choice." She smiled and waved her hand in front of my face.
"Well this may give me some new ideas and maybe I'll find something else to latch on to."
We had got off the train that dropped us off at a place where both of our areas were close. Her home wasn't too far from here. Unlike me she was adopted by a family and taken in by a kind couple that just wanted a child. She was now their only child and they cherish her.
"Kairo, have you handed in the design for your hero costume?" she asked.
"Yeah I had to send that in along with the application." I scratched the back of my head as I continued speaking. "I didn't put much thought into it."
she glanced at me before giggling again. "Okay, I can't wait to see what you look like in it." she said. "Maybe an actual hero, or it'll just be lame." I let her speak as she twirled around me. She was happy, that was fine. She knew she passed her exam with flying colours so she wasn't worried or stressed about anything like that. She was just ready to start.
"I'll get my results by the end of the week and I'm pretty sure I made it in. The overall exam wasn't hard."
"Really, I heard you guy's had to fight real heroes." I then explained to her how they were heroes but they only started their hero journey. Quickly labelling how I thought other people had done before moving on to me.
"So you left without even getting a scratch." she said.
"Well the guy said that he wasn't going all out. That they were just gauging our strength." She seemed satisfied by that. And turning one more right at a corner we arrived on the street to her home. "I guess I'll leave you here." I said as I stayed slightly behind her. She turned to me
"Yeah I guess so. Kairo." she paused and looked up to me. "We should go out to celebrate when we get our results yeah?"
"Yeah I'm fine with that." She smiled and said goodbye before turning around to bounce on her way to her home.
I turned to walk to my own home which wasn't far. While walking my mind kept thinking, and right now my thoughts were on the celebration we had planned, which then turned into thinking about what my results may look like and how what we done tested out our heroics. For a hero school I kinda thought there would be more play on stuff heroes would do. The combat part could be understood since there is a lot of combat in this line of work. But there was no reason for the obstacle course.
There was a better way to see what our quirks were and how we used them than some obstacle course, and for most of the people that came from hero families they shown how able they are with their powers during the combat portion of the exam.
I expected stuff like maybe rescuing targets or being forced to work together to show whatever other skills we had, like leadership skills and seeing how well we work with new people. 'Maybe the standard practical exam for the people not recommended have something like that.' No need to put so much thought on something like that. All I was sure about was the fact that I made it in.

"Get your feet off the" the stern voice of a boy with dark blue hair and glasses on with a more squared off chin to his rectangular face. "Such an action is insulting to the people that came before us."
Tenya Iida was his name. Recognizing the family name wasn't hard, they were quite famous and his brother who is known as Ingenium is quite a high ranking hero with a lot of solved cases under his belt.
The family have been in the public eye for a long time.
The person waving his right hand robotically at the ashen blonde haired boy could be described as a few things. Like stern, Stickler for the rules, or even a teacher's pet.
He's been going around the class making sure everybody is sticking to the school code, he's not a bad guy no, just a little overbearing. Like a parent interrogating their child on their every move on their way home from school.
In the whole class there were three recommended students including me. Endeavours son was one of the other of two in the class. He kept a constant cold and distant look that caused for not many people to go and introduce themselves to him.
The other one was the girl with her hair tied in a spiky ponytail. Her name was Momo Yaoyorozu. She was tall and seemed to shine an air of brilliance that got people to greet her out of respect or feeling as if they had to as well as some people only giving a few glances from a distance.
The rest of the class didn't have traits that gave me any indication that they may be dangerous or stronger than me,
"If you've come here to make friends then leave." the raspy and tired voice of a man that seemed to emerge from behind a desk came. He had long inky black hair and tired looking grey eyes. The bags under his eyes shown that he didn't seem to get much sleep either.
'Maybe he's got insomnia.' or he's a hero that works a lot at night.
If it was the latter, it explains why I don't know him. Heroes you usually hear about checking the streets for criminals at night are usually also shying away from the press.
"It may be on short notice but..." he pulled out a blue tracksuit and said. "Put on your tracksuits and meet me outside."
Already we were all already headed towards a training field to "Test your quirks." it was an apprehension exam to test out our use of our quirks.
And the teacher even said that whoever ends up in last place will be expelled or places in a different class.
'I guess that makes things a bit more interesting.'
