CHAPTER TEN: HATRED AT NIGHTFALL

Yukino soon removed her clothing. "Yukino..." Frosch muttered.

"Please be quiet, Frosch." Lector said.

Yukino's Sabertooth emblem was on her left waist. "Erase your guild emblem." Jiemma demanded.

"Yes, sir." Yukino said. "I wasn't here for long, but thank you for everything."

"Get out of my sight, trash." Jiemma ordered.

Later, Sting and Rogue were walking with their Exceeds in front of them. "Our master sure does go to extremes, y'know?" Sting said.

"It couldn't be helped. This is why we're the strongest guild." Lector reminded him.

"Fro is sad..." Frosch said.

Rogue stopped in his tracks. "Is this what a "guild" is?" He asked, making Sting look back at him. "Yukino was a comrade."

"She's gone 'cause she's weak. The strongest guild didn't need her, right?" Sting countered before he continued walking.

"Come to think of it, I hear the lady is replacing Yukino-san." Lector said.

"Oh! Now that's what I call the strongest five members!" Sting cheered.

A younger Siegrain was seen chained up by his wrists as he was covered in blood. Two guards were in front of him.

"Man, it's hard to break this kid."

"We can't even shatter his soul."

"Leave us." A kid's voice was soon heard, getting the attention of the guards.

"R-Right away, sir!"

A younger Jellal looked up towards his younger twin before clicking his tongue. "You really are stubborn, you know that, brother?" Jellal said, walking over to where the torture tools were. "We could've ruled this Tower together yet you had chosen to protect those friends of yours. Oh, Zeref ~ Why must I hurt my darling little brother?"

Jellal hums before picking up a dagger and walking back to where Siegrain was chained. "So tell me, Siegrain..." He began, stabbing the dagger into Siegrain's abdomen, making him scream in pain as Jellal grin evilly before removing the dagger and pointing it at his neck.

"Are you done pretending to be a hero?"

"Mystogan!" Siegrain shouted, only to find himself in his hotel room, being awakened by another nightmare.

"Damn it... They resurfaced again." Siegrain thought. "How long has it been?"

Siegrain got up from the bed and walked out onto the balcony, shutting the sliding door behind him. He rested his arms on the ledge of the balcony.

"Don't come out, don't come out..." Siegrain muttered to himself as tears were threatening to fall. He felt his whole body shake and his heart beat quickening as he lets out shaky breaths, trying to calm down.

He hated feeling weak.

Siegrain soon felt a presence behind him. He didn't have to turn around, knowing who it was. "I'm not trying to drown myself in a bathtub this time. You don't have to check on me." He informed.

"I know." Meredy responded.

"It's been a long time since I've had a panic attack." Siegrain sighed. "And everyone just expects me to forgive him just like that."

"You'll forgive Jellal on your own terms. Somewhere deep down, I know he understands that." Meredy informed as Siegrain wrapped his arms around her, resting his head on her shoulder.

Siegrain let one tear slip before he began sobbing. The only times he allowed himself to be vulnerable was when he was with Meredy or Mystogan.

Erza was sitting on some stairs with Millianna. "Actually, I thought I'd surprise you by revealing my identity when we won the tournament, but I couldn't wait that long to see you, Er-chan!" Millianna claimed, resting her head on Erza's shoulder.

"Good grief... Anyway, that Kagura on your team is some kind of strong..." Erza stated.

"You can say that again. In fact, when she gets serious, she may even be stronger than you, Er-chan." Millianna said.

"I'd love to spar with her sometime." Erza said.

"You may get your chance during the tournament. Although Kagura-chan may not go all out here at the Games..." Millianna informed.

"Really?" Erza asked in surprise.

"You saw her sheathed sword, Archenemy, right?" Millianna questioned.

"That's a daunting name for a sword." Erza responded.

"She made a vow to only unsheathe her sword to cut down one person, like the name says. Someone she holds such hatred for that they can't co-exist in this world... The man that stole everything from Kagura-chan... That sword is meant to kill Jellal." Millianna said.

Erza's eyes widened as Millianna grinned. "I know. You feel the same way, right, Er-chan?" She asked as Erza didn't respond. "Right?"

Millianna then closed her eyes. "I hate Jellal, too..." She confessed. "He used us... tortured Siegrain, who was only trying to protect us... and murdered Simon. I'll never forgive him... I'll never forgive him! That's why I joined Kagura-chan's guild."

A few feet away from them stood Kaira with her hood up and her arms crossed, leaning against a pillar before she quickly walked away.

"That's right... I had forgotten Anna-chan and Kagura-chan hated him back in this time, too..." Kaira thinks to herself before recalling another memory that was also very vivid to her.

Kaira was holding onto Meredy's hand as the two saw Jellal kneeling down in front of a gravestone.

Meredy walks up to him with Kaira, looking at the writing etched into the gravestone.

Siegrain Fernandes.
X765 - X792.
Brother - Husband - Father.

On top of Siegrain's name was the Wizard Saint's symbol. There were also tons of flowers on his grave. Jellal guessed that the other Wizard Saints most likely came to pay their respects.

"I'm sorry, Meredy." Jellal finally spoke up after a while.

"His death wasn't your fault, Jellal." Meredy tried her best to reassure him as she sets the bouquet of flowers she was holding down.

Jellal clenched his fists together. "That's where you're wrong, Meredy. If I had been strong enough to take him down, Sieg wouldn't have died for me." He said.

Kaira soon snapped out of the memory. "Sorry, Anna-chan, Kagura-chan... While I sympathize with you, I cannot allow you to kill Jellal. It's impossible for me to go after my Dad's actual killer, so Jellal is the next best thing. I'm gonna be the one who kills him!" She declares in her head.

"What are you still doing out at this night, Sister?"

Erza turned around and spotted Siegrain walking towards her. "I could ask the same for you." She replied.

"Couldn't go back to sleep. Not even with Mer's comfort." Siegrain replied, sighing as he did so. "You look like something's troubling you."

"It's just my conversation with Millianna." Erza said, making Siegrain raise an eyebrow. "Siegrain, do you know Kagura?"

"Yeah, I know of her. My only interaction with her she tried to kill me." Siegrain responded. "Luckily, Anna explained to her that I wasn't Jellal, but his twin brother. It calmed her down, but not by much. I think she holds some kind of distaste for me."

"So you know about her wanting to kill Jellal." Erza said, making Siegrain nod. "Millianna wants to kill him as well."

"Not surprising. There's probably a lot of people out there who would like Jellal's head on a stick." Siegrain stated. "Though knowing how you are, you won't let that happen."

"You wouldn't either."

"Huh?"

"Siegrain, you may act like you hate Jellal. But deep down, you care about him. Because he's your brother." Erza said.

Siegrain scoffed. "I could care less if that piece of shit dies or not." He claimed.

"What are you doing out here, Erza?"

Erza and Siegrain turned to see Gray. "Gray..." Erza muttered. "Nothing... Nothing important. Why are you out here alone?"

"Until now, I was in the middle of some tug-of-war between Lyon and Juvia and I have no idea what it was about." Gray replied.

"You have no idea what it was about? I wasn't there, but even I have a pretty good idea of what the deal was." Erza stated.

"You must realize by now how Juvia feels about you. Why not give her a clean-cut response?" Erza then asked as Gray didn't answer her. "Never mind me. When it comes to love and hate, I've got too much baggage of my own to be giving out advice."

"Did something happen?" Gray asked.

"No. It's late. Let's go back to the inn. Siegrain, try to get some sleep." Erza told him.

"Will do, Sis." Siegrain smiled.

Crocus Garden...

Two loud consecutive blasts were heard, waking both Sting and Lector up. "What the...?!" Sting questioned as Rogue barged in.

"Intruder!" He announced.

"Lector, wake up!" Frosch added on, flying beside Rogue.

"Intruder?!" Sting repeated. "All of the members of Sabertooth are stayin' at this inn! Who the hell is it?!"

"I don't know... but they must not be expecting to leave here alive!" Rogue claimed.

One of their members soon crashed in front of them while other members got blasted with flames, causing them to go flying in the air. The intruder was revealed to be Natsu.

"Where's... your master?!" Natsu shouted, kicking a member up in the air and causing him to crash. Sting and Rogue could only stare in shock.

"Where is he?!" Natsu asked again as Jiemma stepped forward.

"You have business with me, kid?" Jiemma questioned.

"Are you the master here?" Natsu asked. "I hear you kicked someone out for losin' once?" He then chuckled. "That gets me fired up!"

"In that case," Natsu paused as he pounded his fists together, flames coming out. "if you lose to me, you're outta this guild!"

A/N: So now you know what year Siegrain died. Still haven't decided if I want to reveal his killer at the end of the Eclipse Arc or reveal it in the Alvarez Empire Arc. I might save it for the Alvarez Empire Arc to keep you on the edge of your seats.

Sorry if I didn't write Siegrain's PTSD very well, I don't have PTSD, so I don't know how an episode works.

Thanks for reading!
