CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE: GLORIA

"It's almost settled." Darton spoke as Hisui was sitting down.

"Yes. We'll know for sure whether my contact's prediction will come true." Hisui claimed.

"So you're not going to change your mind." Darton stated. "If the prediction comes to pass, you'll activate Eclipse."

"I was uncertain myself. I didn't want to believe it, but then thought, what if...? I vacillated between doubt and disbelief."

"It's a decision of great consequence."

"However, I believe this is the only way to make that decision. If the results of this event match the prophecy, it proves my contact really does know the future." Hisui said as her and Darton watched the matches.

"That is, the prophesied horde of dragons will destroy the kingdom of Fiore." Darton said.

"For now, let's see what happens." Hisui told him. "Let's see how their battle is going to be resolved."

Jura flew into the air at Laxus's attack, making the audience go wild. "What?!" Obaba exclaimed in pure shock.

"Go, Laxus!" Evergreen cheered.

Jura quickly recovered and raised a block, causing Laxus to rise up in the air.

"Lightning Dragon's Halberd!" Laxus shouted, throwing a lightning bolt towards Jura.

"Sediment!" Jura called out, blocking his attack with rock pillars and causing an explosion.

Laxus charged at Jura through the smoke and tried to punch him in which Jura blocked it. Laxus avoided the earth pillars thrown at him, easily speeding through and charging forward once more as him and Jura continued to battle each other.

"Wow..."

"He's actually fighting Jura as an equal!"

"Laxus!" Makarov said in astonishment.

"It looks like you didn't think he was this strong." Mavis commented. "Everyone will grow. That is, all of the youngsters who will live in the next age."

Lightning surrounded Laxus's fist as he slammed it to the ground. "This... is astonishing." Jura commented as Laxus was trying to catch his breath. "I haven't felt this much fighting spirit in years."

"You're a monster like they say." Laxus claimed. "What is it you always say at a time like this, Natsu?"

Lightning soon erupted from Laxus's fist. "I'm fired up..." He claimed.

"Come! Let's fight until one of us drops!" Jura declared.

Natsu threw a flaming fist at the royal guards, causing them to fly up into the air. Cosmos and Kamika stepped forward.

"Their numbers just aren't decreasing!" Lucy exclaimed.

"We're completely surrounded!" Wendy added.

"Well, we're gonna break through! We should almost be at the exit!" Natsu said.

"Why don't you call on a lot more Celestial Spirits?!" Happy suggested.

"We don't need 'em! I can take on all these guys!" Natsu claimed as he began knocking the guards down one by one.

"Knowing you, I actually believe that." Lucy commented.

"Yeesh, and this was the guild I wanted to join when I got older." Kaira sighed out, taking Lucy by surprise.

"Huh? You wanted to join us?"

"Yes. Aunt Erza was my role model, so I wanted to be in her guild. But then... well, you know." Kaira replied as Lucy nodded in understanding.

Erza was struggling to get up. "I doubt you can stand anymore with that leg." Minerva said.

"I'll get up again and again. If it's a fight that I can't afford to lose, I'll keep on getting up. I told you before. You people..." Erza paused. "...have made enemies of the one guild you don't want to anger."

"Anger isn't good for beauty." Minerva stated.

"How dare you do that to Lucy, my comrades... Kagura, Millianna... I am angry!" Erza narrowed her eyes.

"And am I supposed to be afraid of such anger?" Minerva taunted, activating her Magic as Erza dodged her attacks before she got blasted by Minerva's Magic.

"My Spatial Magic makes everything I see a target area!" Minerva informed.

"Explosions..." Millianna muttered.

"That magic not only switches space..." Arana began.

"...but can even change the property of that space!" Beth finished.

"The strongest magic befits the strongest guild. Territory!" Minerva said as Erza appeared from the smoke with two daggers.

"I saw it coming!" She claimed, avoiding Minerva's attacks.

"You...!" Minerva exclaimed, charging forward.

"My fury is the guild's fury!" Erza shouted. "Second Origin, release!"

"Second Origin?!" Jet yelled in shock.

"She released the weapon within!" Levy said.

"She was hiding it?!" Droy added.

"Advance like a wild wind, youngsters!" Mavis said.

Erza soon requipped into new armor. "Nakagami Armor!"

Gray was panting. "It's getting harder."

"Juvia's magic is also almost all..." Juvia trailed off.

"Forgive me, Juvia." Lyon apologized.

"Let's finish them off, Lyon!" Sherria exclaimed.

Lyon had his eyes closed. "I have no liking for harming women. Least of all when my opponent is Juvia." He then looked at Sherria. "You take care of Juvia."

"Are we on that again?! You're stronger than I am, so you should just take her out with one shot! Then I'll use my Healing Magic to restore your power." Sherria said.

"Healing Magic?!" Juvia quoted.

"I see. So that's what you've got up your sleeve." Gray stated.

"We didn't want to show our cards that easily." Lyon claimed.

"Lyon, just hurry up and finish them off!" Sherria shouted.

"I told you! I'm leaving Juvia to you!" Lyon fired back.

"Why me?!"

Gray placed his hand on Juvia's shoulder, in which she placed her hand over his.

"Never mind! I told you to do it, so do it!"

"Their weakness is teamwork. But we can join forces even more!" Gray said.

"Gray-sama..." Juvia muttered.

"Let's hit 'em with all of our magic!" Gray declared.

"Right!" Juvia nodded.

"Your fiery blood, sweat, and tears are as beautiful as sunshine!" Mavis claimed.

"Dragon Slayer's Secret Art!" Laxus called out.

"Fear not, young ones. Move forward and that shall become your path."

"Roaring Thunder!" Laxus finished, throwing a bolt of lightning at Jura.

"I've lost." Jura thought, collapsing to the ground.

"Laxus has won! He defeated one of the Ten Wizard Saints! Comeback! Comeback! Comeback!" Chapati shouted as Fairy Tail bumped to first place.

Gray and Juvia soon joined hands as ice and water combined together.

"You dare flirt with her openly in my presence?! I'm don't playing games! Sherria!" Lyon called out as Sherria was in awe.

"It's so pretty..." Sherria thinks to herself.

Lyon shook her shoulders. "What are you doing, Sherria?! Power me up!"

"Go!" Gray shouted.

"Sherria! Snap out of it!" Lyon yelled as Sherria came back to reality.

"Water Nebula!"

"Ice Geyser!"

Both Gray and Juvia sent Lyon and Sherria flying. "Damn you, Sherria!" Lyon exclaimed.

"I'm sorry!" Sherria apologized.

"That's a victory for teamwork, huh?" Gray said. The smoke disappeared as Juvia was still holding onto Gray's hand. "How long are you gonna hold my hand?"

Juvia hugged Gray's arm as hearts were around her head. "Forever!" She replied.

"So scary!" Gray exclaimed.

"Jura and Lyon have both been defeated?!" Obaba shouted in shock.

"That idiot, Sherria!" Sherry scolded her younger cousin.

"I-I-I'm gonna spin!" Obaba began spinning.

"Obaba-sama, get a hold of yourself!" Sherry said.

"A-Another victory for Fairy Tail! With this, they get an additional two points!" Chapati said as their point count went up.

"That brings them to 58 points-kabo!" Mato added.

"Nonsense! This is nonsense!" Minerva claimed.

"It's over!" Erza shouted.

"Disappear!" Minerva fired her Magic towards Erza, who cuts through it.

"She cut through the magic!" Jet exclaimed.

"No, I think she cut through space!" Droy corrected.

"'Nakagami Armor. Since so much magic is consumed when it's worn, no one has been able to put it on in ten years.'" Levy reads from a book.

"What is that book?!"

"'However, one clad in this armor can break the laws of magic and will become like unto a flawless sword.'" Levy continued.

"It can't be! How can you have this much power left?!" Minerva asked.

"You harmed the people I care about too much." Erza replied.

Minerva stepped back a bit. "D-Don't!"

"Suffer the consequences!"

"Stop! I... I..."

"Nakagami Asterism!" Erza called out as Minerva crashed to the ground and the audience to cheer.

"It's Erza! She beat Sabertooth's leader and earned five points!" Chapati shouted, bumping Fairy Tail's point count to 63. "Right now, Fairy Tail has 63 points! They're strong! Fairy Tail is too strong! Will they win this without one member going down?! The wizards from the other guilds are almost all out! In fact, the only one who's left is Sabertooth's Sting!"

Chapati shoved the microphone in Yajima's face. "Yajima-san, I think this is about over!"

"F-Fairy Tail has gotten extremely close to victory." Yajima stuttered.

"Incredible-kabo!" Mato commented.

"Victory!"

"Us?!" Jet questioned.

"We, who were bottom-ranked the whole time?!" Droy asked.

"Idiot! It's too soon to cry!" Macao teared up.

"There's still one person left!"

"But what can one person do against those members?"

"That's right!"

"The fairies have already all but won it!"

The audience soon started chanting 'Fairy Tail!' over and over.

"Here it comes." Hisui informed.

"Yes."

Sting smirked. "I didn't think it would actually work out the way I wanted it to. This must be fate."

"What's wrong?"

"Oh, it's just that score..."

"An eight-point difference, what about it?"

"Look, if Sting did manage to beat all five fairies, what would happen?"

"The leader is five points, the other four are one point each, so..."

"Nine points! If Sting beats all five Fairy Tail members, he'll get nine points!" Chapati announced. "Sabertooth would come from behind for the win! You don't think he..."

"All of the Fairy Tail members are injured." Yajima pointed out.

"He intends to take them all down-kabo?!" Mato said.

"Is that what he was after?"

"Hey, I can't believe that..."

A white signal flare suddenly shot up in the night sky, creating a firework.

"I'm right here! Come and get me, Fairy Tail!" Sting exclaimed.

All of the Fairy Tail members began moving, eventually meeting Sting.

"What a spectacular sight. All of you are wizards I looked up to seven years ago." Sting said.

"Can the chatter. This is the final battle." Gajeel informed.

"We'll beat you one on one. Who do you want?" Gray questioned.

"All at once is fine. With your injuries, one on one would be boring." Sting responded.

Juvia stepped forward. "You'd better not underestimate Fairy Tail." She claimed.

"I wouldn't dream of it. I'm treating you guys with respect. That's why I'm gonna crush you all together! I've been waiting for this." Sting said. "I'm gonna show Lector how strong I am!"

"Lector?" Gray repeated in confusion.

"I don't know what you're talkin' about, but are you serious?" Laxus asked.

"I'm serious! I got stronger! Losing Lector has awakened new strength! For Lector's sake... For my best friend's sake... I'm gonna beat all of you!" Sting declared.

Erza moved forward, using a wooden stick as support. "Fine. If you're that prepared... then we'll fight you, Sting!"

"That's what I want to hear." Sting said as all of the Fairy Tail members had determined looks on their faces.

Sting soon began to power up as a white light engulfed him. "I'll show you my newly-awakened power!" He chuckled before looking at the Fairy Tail members. His eyes then widened, causing his power to die down.

"All of them are already worn out. So beat up, one push would knock 'em over." Sting clenched his fist. "Dammit, I came this far! What are you hesitating for, dumbass?! If I beat them all at once, I'll have kept the promise to my lady. I'll be able to see Lector! That's right! Lector! Move! I got stronger! My feelings for Lector... made me stronger! Stronger! Stronger! I'll win!"

Sting collapsed to his knees. "I... didn't win..." He thought as he was hunched over.

"I give up."

One point was added to Fairy Tail's count, making the members cry.

"That's it! The winner of the Grand Magic Games..." Chapati began as fireworks were shot up in the air. "... is Fairy Tail!"

The audience cheered loudly as Fairy Tail celebrated.

Erza walked towards Sting. "Sting, why didn't you come after us?" She asked.

"I had a feeling I couldn't meet him. Before, I thought I'd be able to meet him if I won... but for some reason, I felt like I couldn't meet him. I don't understand it myself. You people are so radiant that I didn't think I could meet him the way I am now." Sting answered.

"Sure you can." Erza told him.

"Er-chan!"

Millianna was waving as she was holding a sleeping Lector in her arms, who opened his eyes slowly.

Sting ran towards Lector, who did the same.

"Lector!"

"Sting-kun! Sting-kun!"

"Lector!"

Sting and Lector then hugged.

Hisui and Darton walked down the steps. "All of the Fairy Tail members undefeated and Sting surrendered." Darton said.

"The future no one could have guessed was foretold. My contact was correct. The future they foretold is all true. From this moment on, the battle for the survival of the human race begins. Bring Eclipse 2 a.k.a. the Eclipse Cannon to the surface!" Hisui shouted.

Natsu continued attacking the guards. "About what time is it now?" He asked.

"I don't know! Probably almost night!" Lucy responded.

"I wonder if the Grand Magic Games are over!" Happy said.

"Well, of course Fairy Tail's a guaranteed win! So let's wrap this up!" Natsu exclaimed, taking another guard down. "We gotta meet up with Gramps and them an' tell 'em about Eclipse!"
