Re: Zero x Sniper Chapter 3: Bar First Impressions, a re:zero fanfic

He quickly crawls through the window and carefully lowers himself down then while putting his belt back on he scans the area and realizes that he was on a walkway that runs along one of the outer walls of the main building. Through the bathroom window he is able to hear knocking along with the maid calling for him and realizing he didn't have much time, he is about to make a run for the forest but suddenly remembers something while thinking, "damn it. They have all my equipment. I'll need my radio to call for help."

Noticing one of the windows open, he quickly makes his way to and jumps in while hoping the maid still hadn't discovered his disappearance. Now inside he quietly makes his way through the eerily quiet halls of the manor while thinking to himself, "alright. Remember what they taught you during evasion training. Stay quiet, mobile and leave everything they way you find it."

He pauses when he hears footsteps quickly walking towards him, which prompts him to duck through the first door he sees. After quietly closing the door behind him, he kneels next to it and puts his ear to the door which allows him to hear a very angry pink haired maid walk by while saying to herself, "when I get my hands on that fool, I'll do a lot more than just shackle him to a bed."

Realizing now that there was severe consequences for recapture, he decides to stay in place while thinking of a game plan, however his planning gets interrupted by a strangely nervous sounding voice asking, "uh hello?"

Thinking he was caught, he slowly turns around while raising his hands and saying, "I'm willing to go back quietly if…."

He pauses however when he sees the sight of a girl with long white hair and purple eyes looking back at him. Upon further inspection he sees she's wearing what appears to be some kind of long sleeping gown and sits at a dresser with a large mirror on top of it and holds a hair brush. He looks at her confused but a sudden realization comes to mind as he thinks, "well this is bad, Im pretty sure I just walked in on her changing."

Another thought comes to mind as he realizes that he has been more or less staring at her this whole time which is probably why she was looking back at him with such nervousness, definitely not because he barged into her room without asking. Realizing how bad this looks, The sniper attempts to smile innocently while saying, "sorry. I got lost and accidentally ended up in here."

Still nervous, she looks at him with a raised eyebrow while asking, "your lost?"

He nods while replying, "yeah. Funnily enough, this isn't even the first time I got lost here today."

She tilts her head to the side while saying, "oh?"

She giggles a bit then smiles while saying, "that does sound funny."

She starts to study his face more intently which intern causes a nervous feeling to grow within him while thinking, "I have a bad feeling about the way she's looking at me."

After a few more moments of looking at him, she says, "I don't recognize you."

Thinking quickly he continues to smile while saying, "I'm not surprised, I'm a guest that just got here."

She continues to look at him curiously then puts a hand to her chin while thinking out loud, "strange, the only guest I know about was the boy I brought with me…."

Her eyes go wide as she starts to look at him nervously once more while saying, "but there is a prisoner."

Sweat rolls down his temple as he continues to smile innocently back at her while thinking, "I'm screwed."

He tries his best to sneakily reach behind himself and feels for the door knob but to his surprise she seems to scoff at the idea while saying, "that's impossible. From what I heard Ram was in charge of guarding them and she would never let anyone she was special tasked with guarding out of her sight."

He secretly sighs In relief while thinking, "good. As long as she doesn't know who I actually am I should be safe. Though I should probably keep moving."

He casually reaches for the door while saying, "it was nice meeting you but I need to get going so…."

She cuts him of saying in a frantic tone, "wait!"

Confused though slightly nervous he asks, "uh why?"

She looks at him with a nervous look then as if preparing herself she finally asks, "do you not know who I am?"

He looks back at her confused while thinking, "would she be offended if I say I didn't? Like one of those famous peoples kids?"

Shaking away the thought he thinks, "no no no. If she finds out I'm lying then she might figure out I'm not a guest. I should just be honest."

Focusing back on her, he simply shakes his head while saying, "sorry but no. I honestly have no idea."

He stands there waiting for whatever negative response he was going to get but to his surprise, her whole aura brightens up as she says with enthusiasm, "really!!!"

Caught off guard by the response, he simply responds, "uh…. Yeah."

Again to his surprise, she sighs in relief then says with a smile, "I'm happy to hear that."

Now surprisingly calm, she looks back at him curiously while asking, "can I ask a favour of you?"

Thinking it best to play along he replies, "yeah sure. What do you need?"

She takes a deep breath in as if she were mentally preparing herself for what she was going to ask which intern makes him nervous of what she could possibly ask but he isn't able to dwell on this long because she finally asks, "can you have a conversation with me?"

To her confusion he simply blinks back at her but before she can ask if he is alright, he is able to ask, "huh?"

The response causes a feeling of disappointment to grow within her as she sighs disheartedly then says, "sorry. That's a weird thing to ask someone you just meet."

She tries to hide her sadness behind a smile but unfortunately for the sniper, he was able to see right through it. With a feeling of guilt steadily growing within him, he starts to smile innocently back at her while saying, "I didn't mean no. I've just never had someone ask me that before."

She looks back at him surprised while saying, "oh?"

She starts to smile while giggling a bit then says, "I'm glad I'm your first."

Deciding to ignore the innuendo for a few reasons, he decides to continue to smile while asking, "what do you want to talk about?"

Surprised by the response she goes wide eyed while asking, "you actually wanna talk?"

He nods his head while saying, "yeah I enjoy talking to new people."

She looks at him wide eyed as if she didn't know what do but to his relief she starts to smile warmly at him which makes him think to himself, "not going to lie. She's pretty cute."

"So you think you can peak on my daughter eh?"

Thrown off by the sudden man's voice, the sniper starts frantically looking around while saying, "hang on! I accidentally walked in here!"

Unable to see who was speaking, he again hears the voice saying, "tsk tsk tsk. excuses are only going to make things worse for you."

He continues to look around frantically now but pauses when he hears her saying, "puck! He wasn't peeping on me so you don't need to hurt him!"

With what she said not exactly helping his confusion, he continues to look at her while trying to find the voice but does notice something odd. The green crystal necklace around her neck had started glowing and on top of that it seemed like she was talking to it while saying, "we were going to have an actual conversation before you butted in."

"An actual conversation?"

The crystal glows even brighter then to the snipers shock and confusion, a small grey cat with a piercing threw one of its ears appears to somehow jump out of her necklace and instead of jumping to the ground like any normal cat, it instead floats around the girls head then over to the sniper and bonks him on the head with his tiny paw while saying, "I can tell he's hiding something."

Too confused by the cat floating in front of his face to notice the accusation, he simply says, "huh?"

The cat floats next to his head and motions to his face while saying, "just look at him. That's the face of a peeping Tom."

Hearing that part he looks over and glares at the cat while snapping, "hang on! Who you calling a peeping Tom?"

The cat bonks him on the forehead again while saying, "take a wild guess buddy."

He swats at the cat while saying, "I'm not a peeping Tom!!!"

The cat effortlessly dodges his hand then starts floating in front of him again while shadow boxing and saying, "oh yeah? You wanna go? Come on! I'll take you on!"

The sniper continues to swat at him while saying, "why you little! Stop dodging!!!"

The cat dodges again and lands on top of his head and while sitting down says, "jeez for someone that seems to prefer accuracy, you miss a lot."

Confused by the statement, he stops swatting at him while asking, "what do you mean by that?"

The cat jumps off his head and floats in front of him while saying, "your movements are too precise for a normal person. It's as if you're trained to be accurate."

Not wanting to give away what he does, he simply responds, "yeah. You could say that."

The cat crosses its arms and nods with a look of satisfaction while saying, "of course I'm right."

The cat bonks him on the forehead again while saying, "you still suck at it though."

Annoyed once more he begins swatting at him again while saying, "why do you have to be so annoying!!!"

The cat once again effortlessly dodges the swipes though they both stop moving when they hear stifled laughing. Confused they both look over and see the girl still sitting at her dresser and trying not to laugh. Seeing this the cat smiles warmly at her then flies over and gently pats her on the head while looking back at the sniper and saying, "my daughter is so adorable when she tries not to laugh don't you agree?"

Not thinking anything of it, the sniper simply nods in agreement while saying, "yeah, she's pretty cute."

Hearing the comment causes the girl to stop laughing but instead of saying anything, she simply looks back at him wide eyed while her cheeks turn a rosy red and attempts to say, "uh- uh cute?"

Seeing her get embarrassed the cat starts to laugh loudly and holds its stomach all while the sniper looks at the confusing sight in front of him while thinking, "what the hell is going on?"

Before he could actually ask, the cat stops laughing long enough to look back at him while saying, "sorry, I don't get to see her embarrassed to often so it's a welcome treat for me."

Annoyed but still embarrassed the girl says, "it's not that funny!"

The cat gently pats her on the head while still grinning and saying, "don't be like that lia. If it were up to me idea have the whole world know how cute you are."

Still annoyed, she pushes the cat away while saying, "oh please. You know I'm not that cute."

The cat floats over to the sniper and motions to him while asking, "then are you calling him a liar?"

She focuses on him and with her cheeks still red blurts out, "uh-uh of course not!"

The cat grins as he pats the sniper on the head while saying, "ha. I knew you were good for something."

He isn't surprised by the cats insult at this point though what he says next does catch him off guard.

"And since you helped me make my point. I'll give you a head start."

Concerned by the way the cat said that, the sniper cautiously takes a step back towards the door while asking, "uh? What do you mean by that?"

The cat smiles back at him which doesn't provide him much comfort as it says, "you see the thing is you have been standing there staring at my dear Lia in her sleep wear for quite some time now."

The cat starts to glare at him and with a dark aura now forming around it, a cold chill runs down his spine, the sniper takes another step back while looking back at him with an innocent smile while saying, "sorry. I didn't mean to look and I have No ulterior motives, I was actually planning on having a genuine conversation with her."

Before the cat can respond, the girl, who is now standing and walking towards them says, "he's telling the truth! And I'm actually looking forward to talking to him."

The relief the sniper felt from her words slowly leaves him as the cat shakes its head while saying, "oh my dear sweet naïve Lia. I hope one day you learn to deduce someone's ulterior motives."

In a panic, the sniper tries to think of something to say to defend himself but before he can, the cats attention turns back to him while saying, "by the way. Your head start starts now."

Hearing this causes his panic to only grow as he backs up until he was pressed against the door. However a sudden thought comes to mind as he looks back at the cat with a raised eyebrow while asking, "hang on. Why should I be scared of you?"

The cat look back at him surprised and puts a paw to its chin while saying, " hmm that is a good question. Why should you be scared of me?"

The cat floats there in deep thought however the sniper gets distracted by the sight of the girl standing behind the cat now sporting a look of panic while frantically waving at him. He however isn't able to ask why as the cat looks back at him with an innocent smile while saying, "it's quite simple really."

It floats over to the sniper while saying, "because…."

Suddenly the cats head grows exponentially in size until it looked like a tiger and roars in his face while saying, "I'll bite your head off!!!"

The sniper finds himself staring blankly at the tiger looking back at him but after only blinking at it for a few moments, he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in…. Then proceeds to throw open the door and frantically runs out of the room while the cat says, "you'd better be quick! You don't have long!!!"

The cat casually floats through the hallway while saying, "come out come out wherever you are. You do realize that you can't hide from me forever."

As it floats by a door, it fails to notice the heavy panicked breathing of the sniper hiding on the other side. He cautiously listens to the sounds in the hall but hearing nothing he sighs in relief while saying, "I'm safe."

"You should not be here I suppose."

Freezing in place, he is just barely able to turn his head around but becomes confused by the sight of a vast library containing an endless row of books on each wall with a little girl with blonde drill like hair and blue eyes with starry pink pupils, wearing a red wintery seeming dress with dark and pale purple stripped stockings sitting on a chair with book in hand looking back at him. All he is able to do is stare blankly and only blinks at her while she looks back at him annoyed while saying, "it is rude to stare I suppose."

Again all is able to do is stare blankly at her and only blink to the annoyance of the girl who closes her book while saying, "is all you are capable of doing is staring?"

Finally doing something other than staring, he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in then calmly says while looking at her again, "nope."

The girl looks at him confused but before she can say anything, he turns around and frantically tries to open the door while saying, "murderous floating cats and crazy maids are bad enough but I draw the line at this Stephan King level bullshit so nope I'm out!"

He continues to frantically turn the doorknob and starts to panic when he notices it not moving but gets an answer as to why it wasn't opening when he hears the girl say, "I'm afraid you aren't going anywhere I suppose."

Freezing in place with his hand still firmly grasping the doorknob, he is only able to muster enough courage to slowly turn around but immediately jumps back and slams against the door from the sight of the little girl now standing directly in front of him. He stands there frozen in fear while she looks back at him with a raised eyebrow while saying, "what an odd being you are I suppose."

He continues to look down at her and is just able to muster enough courage to ask, "uh, what do you…."

Before he can finish his question, she reaches out and touches his chest. Now more confused than scared he is about to ask what she was doing but is quickly answered when her hand starts glowing a blinding white light. He squints in discomfort but the light subsides as quickly as it appeared, he is able to open his eyes fully only to see the little girl looking down with her hand on her chin while thinking out loud, "an odd being in deed."

Still not sure what was going on, he asks, "uh… what's going on?"

She takes her hand off her chin and looks back up at him while asking, "I assume you do not know what you have?"

He shakes his head while replying, "uh I'm afraid not."

She looks back at him blankly while saying, "I am not surprised a dimwit like you wouldn't know I suppose."

Caught off guard by the sudden insult which causes him to forget his fear and looks down at her annoyed while saying, "excuse me?"

With a raised eyebrow she asks, "was I unclear with my accurate description of you?"

With annoyance now replacing his fear he responds, "no no I got the insult. But I just don't get why your insulting me?"

She scoffs at him saying, "hmph, if you don't understand why you're a dimwit then you are too dumb for me to explain it I suppose."

His eye starts to twitch from holding back the anger he was now feeling towards this little kid but before he can say anything, she asks, "I have an important question for you I suppose."

Confused by the turn in conversation he simply asks, "what?"

She looks back at him sharply while asking in a serious tone, "are you going to give it to me willingly?"

Confused but also feeling very uncomfortable by her question, he nervously asks, "uh? what do you want me to give you?"

She continues to stare at him while replying, "it is quite simple really. I want what flows through your body."

He looks back at her with a blank stare while attempting to mentally process what she just asked, but after a few minutes of processing, all he is able to ask is, "huh?"

She looks back at him annoyed while saying, "I know you're a dimwit but is it really hard to understand what I'm asking for?"

Again he simply looks back at her with a blank stare while still attempting to process what she was asking him but yet again, all he is able to ask is, "huh?"

Hearing his response causes her to rub her temples in annoyance while saying, "I do not know why I'm even trying to be so forward I suppose."

To his confusion, she reaches out to him while saying, "looks like I shall be taking it by force I suppose."

Realizing now that he was in danger he immediately spins around and starts frantically trying to open the door while screaming, "LET ME OUT OF HERE."

She stands there with her hand still extended and with a look of annoyance while saying, "there's no use trying. That door will only open from the outside I suppose."

Undeterred he continues to try and basically break down the door while shouting, "that isn't going to stop me from trying!"

She shakes her head while rubbing her temple's once more and saying, "why must all the guests to the manor be this annoying. First the one that called Betty a loli con and now this dimwit I suppose."

Though he hears her comment, he's to focused on trying to break out to care but to his dismay she reaches out to him once more while saying, "I do not know why you're trying so hard to escape. I am simply requesting you give me what you do not even know you have I suppose."

This comment however catches his attention which causes him to stop thrashing against the door but still leaning on it while asking, "wait…. So your not after my blood?"

Confused the girl asks, "why in the world would Betty want something like that?"

Equally as confused he replies, "you said you wanted what flows through my body?"

Now annoyed she snaps, "and you thought I was talking about your blood?"

He nods his head while saying, "yeah, I thought you were going to bleed me dry."

She sighs disheartedly then shakes her head while saying, "no you dimwit. Why would I want something gross like that I suppose?"

He looks at her dumbfounded with his shoulder still pressed against the door and asks, "so what do you want?"

She takes in a deep breath as if to calm herself due to the annoyance she felt then asks sternly, "I want you to give it to me."

He looks back at her wide eyed due to what a little girl just said to him and intern he says, "phras….."

Suddenly the door opens and with his weight still against it, he crashes threw and ends up sprawled out on the floor of the hallway. Realizing this was his chance, he quickly kicks the door closed, slamming it shut. Thinking he was alone, he sighs in relief while looking up at the ceiling but this new found calm is quickly interrupted by the sound of tapping, more specifically the sound of a tapping shoe. He looks over to the source of the sound and sees a pair of black shoes with one tapping the floor rather aggressively, with a feeling of dread filling him, he slowly looks up and sees a certain pink haired maid glaring daggers back at him with her arms crossed. Though she doesn't show it, she becomes surprised to see him sigh in relief then says, "your probably not going to believe me but I am so happy to see you right now."

The pink haired maid sits on her chair and peacefully reads her book while occasionally taking a sip of tea. The sniper, now bound in so many chains and locks that you couldn't really see his clothes, lies motionless in the bed next to her with the ceiling being the only thing he can look at while the gag he was forced to wear keeps him from talking. With no way of escape, he simply excepts his fate while thinking to himself, "damn it….. now I really have to pee."
