AN: Okay, last little mini Kana chapter here for a while lol. xD Now to move on to Namine/Roxas stuff! :D

After another day of working on repairing the city of Radiant Garden, Kana stood watching them all go - Terra, Aqua, Ventus, and those other children.

They left through that portal of blue, summoned by Keyblade (Kana needed to learn that one, someday, she mused).

But she had a more pressing feeling in her chest. A more...pressing thought ringing in her head.

It had been there all day - and for many days before, whenever she'd been around her...originator, as Even would have called that woman...

Kana let out a sharp breath, turning to Even immediately in the street. "You created me to look like this. To look like her..."

Even glanced at her, looking puzzled. "Yes. And...?"

"Could you change the way I look? Make me look different from her?" Kana went on.

He stared at her for a long moment. He gave her his full focus, placing his hands together and turning toward her fully now. "Well, not me, no - your base appearance is set, and it cannot be altered. At least, not significantly...and not by me, as I said-"

"Why not?"

"Are you finding your appearance to be...upsetting in some way?" he said slowly.

Kana sighed, glancing around as she rocked on her heels. Then she turned and sent a blast of fire at the vast, high stone wall that encircled the city.

"Kana! That is not conductive to fixing the issue!" Even attempted to say kindly. "Speak to me - tell me your feelings, your thoughts - and I might actually be able to find a way to help you. Articulate!"

"I don't like looking like her, no!" Kana exclaimed furiously. "Fix it!" she added to him - demanding it.

"W-well, I couldn't see us managing anything...completely transformative...but there are a fair few powerful, talented mages around the city now who might be able to - alter your appearance enough to satisfy you," Even said quickly. "You might ask Aerith, or even Merlin-"

"I'll ask Aerith," Kana said instantly, cutting him off, and whirling away to stalk off down the street without hesitation.

When Kana finally found the woman, it was in another district - one behind the castle.

It looked a lot worse than the rest of the city - even she could see that.

It was dirty, the stone was cracked and chipped away at, and the houses looked terrible.

Aerith was together with Tifa and Cloud - the three of them looked like they were trying to fix one of the houses. A house with flowerpots and vases around the front door, and in the window sill. Aerith herself had a basket full of flowers at her feet, of all different colors.

"Oh. Kana. Hey..." Cloud spoke, nodding to her. "You doing okay?"

"Huh?" Tifa and Aerith turned to look at her as well.

Kana walked up to Aerith, ignoring the other two. "I want you to change my appearance," she stated.

Aerith blinked at her. Then she nodded, smiling. "Of course! If you're looking for someone to do a bit of transformation magicks, you came to the right woman! I don't consider myself to be an expert in that branch of magic, but I'm also not half bad at it, if I say so myself! So how about we see what we can do?" She paused, scrutinizing Kana. "First of all, what do you want to do?"

Kana looked between Aerith and Tifa. She hadn't actually thought about what, exactly, she would want to change about herself. She only knew she couldn't stand how she was now. But she thought, now, for a minute. She thought hard...until she came up with an answer.

"Could you change my hair color - maybe make it...like one of yours?" Kana asked. "And the length - can you make it longer? Like hers?" She looked to Tifa, gesturing.

"Oh, that should be no problem!" Aerith assured, beaming. "Anything else? I can do your eyes, too - if you wanted."

"Yes."

"Alright, then. Just tell me what colors you want."

Kana froze. She looked around. She looked at Tifa, then at Aerith. Then at Cloud, who had his arms crossed now as he watched them - watched her. She glanced down at the flowers in the basket at the woman's side. She pointed. "I want that color."

"Purple, huh? Great choice," Aerith commented. "Hair or eyes?"

"Both?" Kana said, shrugging. "I just don't want to be...this. Like her...she's..." She trailed off, shrugging again. She couldn't have found the words to express her feelings about the woman known as Aqua.

"Purple it is! And how long would you want your hair to be? I can make it as long as you want."

"Longer than either of yours," Kana replied.

Both the women laughed - but Aerith nodded.

"Okie dokie! Just come with me into my humble abode here and we'll get started," Aerith told Kana, gesturing to the flower-laden house. "Oh, and excuse the mess..."

Kana did so eagerly.

"Kana? Is that you? Are you..."

Even trailed off into silence as Kana found him in the laboratory. His mouth fell open, and his eyes became huge.

Kana shifted her curtains of hair aside with an elbow, placing hand on her hip. "Aerith did it."

"She certainly did!" Even replied, still staring at her.

"So how do I look?" Kana asked, hiding her nervousness behind a raised chin and sharp eyes.

"W-what?" he said faintly.

"How do I look?" Kana repeated.

Even swallowed, staring at her in silence for another long minute. Then- "Well, you- ah...you look perfectly- proportional - erm - symmetrical...healthy! Yes! And that shade of purple is certainly not...egregious on you..."

Kana scoffed, striding forward and letting her arm fall away. "They said you're supposed to tell me I'm beautiful."

Even's mouth opened and closed a few times. His cheeks turned pink. "...Did they? Well, an opinion can hardly be forced-"

"So you don't think that I am?" Kana demanded.

"N-no, I- that isn't what I said! Don't misconstrue my-!"

"Then tell me already; I'm still waiting!"

Even looked down, then away. His hands fumbled at his waist. "Ahem- well- you...of course you are - pleasing to the eyes. You're...ah-"

"Forget it," Kana snapped, turning away and heading for the doorway.

"Wait, Kana: you are - b-beautiful!"

She stopped. "Do you actually think that?"

"Yes...yes. Only the greatest of fools could look at you and come to any other conclusion!" Even declared passionately, holding her gaze.

Kana strode back into the room, a smirk crossing her lips.

"That wasn't so hard, was it?"

Even shook his head, looking away again. But-

"I doubt anyone would mistake you for Master Aqua, now," came his soft voice. "I myself almost failed to recognize you - at first glance, anyways."

"Then it worked," Kana said triumphantly.

"It certainly did, yes. I trust...that you'll stop stressing over this now, then?"

Kana smiled, feeling the relief as a palpable thing inside her. "Yeah. It feels better now. It feels good."

"Good. I'm- happy for you."
