Sesshomar had finally been able to get away from the Authorities and police officers to meet Serenity at the hospital. He didn't want to be away from his mate this long what if she was badly injured and he wasn't aware of it. He approached the main desk where a half demon of unknown origin clad in nurses scrubs sat ruffling through files while on the phone.

"Nope sorry his file isn't here," the nurse said and winked at a female doctor standing nearby. "Of course I will continue to look for it," she said hanging up and glancing at the doctor again.

The smell of lies hung in the air it intrigued Sesshomaru and made him wonder what the doctor and nurse was up to. Normally he would try to find out but he had more important things in his mind. "Can you please tell me what room Serenity Tsukino is in?"

"She had been discharged," the nurse said not even looking up at him.

Without a word he turned on his heel, he was pissed at the police for keeping him so long. He didn't even know where his mate lived, he had forgotten to ask where she lived. How could he be so stupid?

"Excuse me." A voice behind him called. He turned to see the doctor who was standing by the desk. "You said you are looking for Serenity?"

"Yes I am. I want to make sure she is alright, she is my ma.. i mean a very close friend." He wasn't sure what this doctor relationship was to Serenity, he was afraid of someone else telling her she was his mate. Humans had a way of taking information that they didn't deal with on a daily basis bad. He didn't want her screaming and running from him. Also he wanted the honor of telling him she was his destined mate, the only person, besides his ward Rin, that he would protect with his life.

"I am guessing she is expecting you." At Sesshomaru's nod she gestured him to follow her. Instead of leading him the long way around she used her key card to escort him where only authorized personnel was allowed to go. "She is down the hall through those doors." She pointed out, before turning around and hurrying away.

Sesshomaru watched the doctor disappear between another pair of double doors, humans confused him sometimes.

Shaking his head he went through the double doors she had pointed out. The first thing he saw was his mate her beauty took his breath away, and he womdered if he would ever get used to seeing her. Her silver hair was silky as was her skin. Her eyes he could look into them and happily get lost.

It wasn't until she stopped pacing that he realized three men were with her. The blonde with short hair stood against the wall with his arm crossed. The auburn one sat in a chair reading a paper, while the brunette was on the phone. A low growl started in his throat. He sniffed the air and unease, nervousness, and fear was coming from his mate.

He glanced at her again to see her chewing on her thumb nail. He took a few deep breaths before he approached her. "Serenity I am glad your alright. But why are you still her and who are these men?" He eyed the three men and they gave him the same look.

"Oh Sesshomaru I completely forgot about you." Sesshomaru was a little disappointed with her words. "And these men are very good friends of mine, Nephrite, Zoisite, and Jadeite." She introduced them.

He eyed them suspicious as to why they were there, then he remembered that earlier she had mentioned her guardians could the three men be them? The thought relaxed him a little.

"And to why I am still here, well that's kind of a long story. Good thing we have time. You see that couple down there?" She pointed in the direction of where a man and a woman stood conversing with a really disgruntle looking nurse. "Well they are the little fox demon's foster parents they are refusing him medical attention and from his chart he has been beaten and starved."

Sesshomaru's eyes flickered red and a low growl sounded in his throat. He could be a cold hearted self serving bastard at times but he hated those who prayed on women and children. "Would you like me show them my claws?" He didn't wait for her to answer but stared forward.

Serenity insistently block his way. "No violence won't help."

"She said the samething to me when I offered to make them disappear," Jadeite said with a shrug of his shoulders.

Sesshomaru looked the man over and decided that he could let Jadeite live.

"And as I told Jadeite this is the matters of the courts to decided hopefully we know something soon." She looked past him to Zoisite hopeful eyes.

"As I told you adopting a demon child is different from adopting a human child, the papers have to go through different networks for approval." Zoisite walked up and hugged her.

Sesshomaru watched the scene unfold he wanted nothing more then to rip Zoisite to shreds for touching his mate. But the jealousy faded away when the words Zoisite had spoken finally dawned on him. "You are adopting the fox demon?" She nodded and all he could think was his mate was truly amazing and kind hearted. He couldn't ask for any better qualities in his mate. "Is there anything I could do help?"

"I don't think so. Kunzite my lawyer is working on getting the papers pushed through as soon as possible. Right now its just a waiting game."

The doors at the end of the hall swung open and a man with white blonde air and an amazing tan came jogging through. Saeka was hot on his trail.

"Kunzite!" Serenity excitement shown on her face at seeing him. "Please tell me you have it."

"Yes but there are officials that are questioning your age and ability to care for the child." He held his hand up to keep Serenity from protesting. "They want to see how you interact with the child, check out your living situation, and go over you income. I told them that wouldn't be a problem."

"But you have the papers that gets him away from those horrible people?" She was a little upset with the decision that was made but was happy that in all sense and purpose Shippp was her's.

"Yes," Kunzitesaid showing her the papers.

"Good and not a moment to soon, look." Nephrite pointed down the hall. While they had been talking the man and woman had gotten Shippo ready to leave. They must have found the chart that Saeka had hidden.

Anger over came Serenity but before she could charge forward Nephrite and Zoisite stopped her. "Let us handle this."

Serenity nodded and stepped back. " Jadeite and Nephrite stay with her protect her just encase."

Kunzite and Zoisite started forward blocking the way te couple was heading. "These two," Kunzite started in a calm but stern voice, "are no longer the legal gaurdian of the child Shippo."

"What then who is?" the woman asked clearly pissed off over the lost what she considered her paycheck.

Serenity couldn't keep quit and walked forward with Jed, Nate, Saeka, and Sesshomaru following behind her. "I am."

Kunzite handed the papers to the nurse her mouth fell open in disbelief. "She has adopted him."

The man and woman's jaw both fell open in shock.

With a grin of satisfaction she stepped around Kunzite and Zoisite and picked Shippo up cuddling the little fox demon before passing him to Saeka. "As of right now Dr Mizuno I want Shippo moved to a private room, you and two nurses at your choosing are the only ones beside myself and those I deem trust worthy are to enter his room."

"Yes Miss Tuskeno." she said delight light up her face.

Nate and Jed can you too please gaurd my child until he is discharged from here" It wasn't a question but a request.

They nodded and followed Saeka to a private room not far away.

Sesshomaru who had been silent this entire time gapped at his mate. She was truly magnificent. She held herself with a regal poster one that would make no one want to argue with her. The passion she held for this child was truly remarkable.

With one last look at the nurse and the pair Serenity spun on her heel and went to Shippo's new room. Sesshomaru followed silently behind her but stopped her before she entered his room. "It seems you will be busy tonight can I stop by tomorrow?"

"Yes I would like that here." She wrote down her number and handed it to him. "Call first who knows we might be discharged soon."

"Alright." And because he couldn't help but tease her. "Congratulations on becoming a mother." The look of shock overcame her and made him chuckle.

"Your right I am a mother." How was she going to tell the Senshi that she adopted a fox demon or worse Luna and Artemis? "What do I do now?" She had some experience with Rini but this was some what difference she couldn't just send him to the future like she could Rini.

"You will do fine." He lend in and placed a kiss on her forhead before leaving.

Serenity stood there stunned and watched him leave, before entering the room. Shippo was in a big bed with the covers pulled up to his lap. Somewhere Saeka had dug up a big piece of chocolate cake that Shippo was now devouring as fast he could before it magically disappeared. The sight made her smile.

After watching him for several minutes she cleared her throat. "Can you guys give Shippo and I a moment?"

Without a word the others left the door closing softly behind them.

Shippo had put his fork down and was now staring at her with wide green eyes.

She gave him a warm smile and sat in the bed facing him. "Do you understand what just happened?"

Shippo nodded then looked out the window. "You saved me from the bad people."

"I am sorry but I should have asked you this first. Are you ok with me adopting you. I know you don't know me." She was so wrapped up with getting him out of those people's hands and getting him to safety that she hadn't considered how he felt about the whole adoption thing.

Shippo turned back to her with tears streaming down hos cheeks, and for a moment Serenity thought she had made the wrong decision. But he quickly dashed these thoughts when he jumped up and gave her a tight hug. "I always wanted a mother. And I got one of the prettiest and nicest ones I could have hoped for." He gave her a small sniff. "And you smell different from humans are you part demon?"

Serenity had to brush her own tears before she gave a small laugh. "No I am not part demon. I am something more once we are home I will tell you. I can't here because it's a secret that must be kept." She figured she would have to tell him about being Sailor Cosmos and the Moon Kingdom.

"I can keep a secret," he said excitedly. He sat back down and allowed her to tuck him back into bed. "Can I call you Mama?"

"Of course you can." She had to hold back the tears Rini had only called her mom on a few occasions. She leaned down and placed a kiss on his forehead. "I need to go make a call and then go pick up a few things for you. Will you be ok."

Shippo nodded and snuggled under the blankets more. "Will you be back soon?"

"Yes, I will if you need anything you can ask Jed, Nate, or even Dr. Mizuno all are very good friends." Before she left she wrote down her number by the phone. "Just encase you need to get a hold of me."

With one last look at her new child Serenity opened the door and left. Dr. Mizuno and the Shitennou were standing by the door when she came out. "He is sleeping now I have to run to the store and make a call. Jed can you sit by him encase he wakes up?"

"Of course I can."

"Thank you." She next turned to Saeka to ask him about his health. "Is he going to be ok?"

She gave Serenity a warm smile. "Yes thanks to you healing him I should be able to discharge him tomorrow morning. I could tonight but I figured you might need some time getting things together for him."

"Yes I have no idea where to start." A fear like no other came over her. "To tell you the truth I am scared."

Saeka gave a small laugh and pulled her into her arms. "Welcome to motherhood. Don't worry all new mothers feel like this. You will do fine." She let Serenity go and stepped back. "I am going to get his papers drawn up so as soon as possible tomorrow you can take him home."

"Alright thank you for all your help." They all watched her go before she turned to the three remaining Shitennou. "Kunzite and Zoisite thank you for all your help too."

Kunzite smiled down at his princess and future queen. "Wouldn't have done it for anyone else. But now Zoi and I better get back to the office we have paper work to finish up before tomorrow. We will drop in on you in a few days to see how you and Shippo are doing."

She thanked the two again. "Nephrite I will be back soon, please keep him safe."

"I will."

Serenity nodded and went in search of a quite place to make her phone call to Luna and Artemis. She found it on the roof.

It only took to rings before Luna picked up. "Thank god Serenity I was starting to worry when we arrived and saw getting into a ambulance. Are you ok?"

"Yeah I am good. Look I have something important to tell you." Serenity started to say.

(Hehe going to leave that right there will try and post another chapter soon. Wanting to do a short Christmas one too not sure if it will be a one shot or part of this story.)
