Trainer's School
The Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy went to train their Pokemon while Professor Kukui was working on Sarah and Jimmy's passports. As they trained, Ed's Rowlet learned Astonish and his Yungoos learned Sand Attack. Edd's Popplio learned Baby-Doll Eyes, His Pikipek learned Rock Smash, and his Spinarak learned Absorb and Infestation. Eddy's Litten learned Leer and his Grubbin learned Bite. Sarah's Chansey learned Refresh and her Ledyba learned Swift. Jimmy's Riolu and Metapod got stronger while his Inkay learned Foul Play. Thanks to Pikipek's Pickup ability, the Eds have acquired a couple of new Potions and an Antidote. Metapod suddenly began to glow.
"Everyone! I think Metapod's evolving!" said Jimmy. The Eds and Sarah gather behind Jimmy and watched as Metapod's form changed. When the glowing stopped, Metapod now looked like a purple butterfly with white wings. "He's so pretty! What is he now?" The Rotom Pokedex flew out of Edd's backpack and in front of the newly evolved Metapod.
"Butterfree, the Butterfly Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Caterpie. Nectar from pretty flowers is its favorite food. In fields of flowers, it has heated battles with Cutiefly for territory." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Wow." said Jimmy with teary eyes. Edd uses the Rotom Pokedex to learn more about Jimmy's new Butterfree.
"Okay. By evolving, Butterfree is now part flying type, he now knows Gust, and he now has the Tinted Lens ability, which doubles the power of attacks that don't have much effect on certain Pokemon." said Edd. "For example, flying type moves like Gust don't do much damage to rock type Pokemon, but thanks to Tinted Lens, the damage done to a rock type Pokemon by Gust will do twice that much damage to it."
"Oh boy!" said Jimmy.
"Congratulations, Jimmy. You're the first to fully evolve a Pokemon here in Alola." said Edd.
"That is so cool." said Ed. Butterfree flies close to Jimmy and hovers in front of him. Jimmy wraps his arms around his Butterfree.
"I'm so proud of you, Butterfree." said Jimmy.
"Yeah, yeah. Come on, let's get to Hau'oli City." said Eddy.
"Yes. It would be wise to get some supplies for our journey." said Edd. They head to the nearest Pokemon Center. They gave their Pokemon to the nurse and went to the PokeMart. They buy some supplies and decide to have some lunch. As they ate, Lillie walks into the Pokemon Center. She looks around until she sees the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy.
"Oh. There you are." said Lillie. Edd looks at Lillie with a blush.
"Greetings, Lillie." said Edd. She reaches into her duffel bag and pulls out two Trainer Passports.
"Here are Jimmy and Sarah's passports." said Lillie as she hands one to Sarah, and one to Jimmy.
"Thanks." said Sarah and Jimmy. Lillie sits down next to Edd and they look at each other with blushes on their faces.
"So anyway; have you all been to the Trainer School yet?" asked Lillie.
"Trainer School?" replied Ed.
"It's a school where you can learn about Pokemon-related things." said Lillie. "It's right next door to this Pokemon Center."
"Interesting." said Edd. "Perhaps we can stop by there and learn something new. Maybe about some other kinds of Pokemon that we haven't seen in Sinnoh."
"There could be trainers there I can batttle to win some more cash." said Eddy.
"I want to battle some trainers also." said Jimmy. "My Pokemon can use more experience."
"Good idea, Jimmy." said Sarah. After lunch, they got their Pokemon back from the nurse and leave the Pokemon Center. They travel west until they reach a large building. They look to see Professor Kukui standing outside it. He sees the Eds, Sarah, Jimmy, and Lillie.
"Oh, I must've passed you all somehow." said Professor Kukui.
"Alola, Professor Kukui." said Ed.
"Is this the Trainer's School Lillie told us about?" asked Edd.
"Yes, it is." replied Professor Kukui. They look to see that the school had several battle arenas in front of it.
"Cool." said Ed. He looks at a fenced area with tall grass near the school and sees something moving in it. He walks over to check out the area while the others were talking with Professor Kukui.
"I know Ed, Double-D and Eddy probably know everything they need to know about being a trainer; but maybe Sarah and Jimmy could learn something new." said Professor Kukui.
"An excellent idea, Professor Kukui." said Edd.
"I'll still hang around and see if there's any trainers I can battle." said Eddy.
"What will you do, Ed?" Edd asked Ed, only to see he wasn't with them. "Ed?" He looks and sees Ed walking through a gate.
"Hey. monobrow! What are you doing?" asked Eddy. Ed walks to the tall grass and looks at something. Edd walks over to Ed.
"Did you see something, Ed?" asked Edd. He saw something moving in the grass. A green, slimy Pokemon with a yellow lower lip crawls out of the grass. "What is that?" The Rotom Pokedex flies out of Edd's backpack and floats in front of the Pokemon.
"Grimer, the Sludge Pokemon. Brought to Alola to solve the garbage problem, Grimer seems to relish any and all kinds of trash." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"I want to catch this Pokemon." said Ed as he pulls out a pokeball. "Yungoos, come out." He throws Yungoos' pokeball and releases him. "Use Sand Attack!" Yungoos turns around and kicks sand with his hind legs onto Grimer's eyes. The Grimer crawls to Yungoos and pounds him.
"I think that was Pound, Ed." said Edd.
"Use Leer!" said Ed. Yungoos' eyes glow blue and Grimer's defense weakens. Grimer tries to pound Yungoos again, but misses.
"Tackle!" said Ed. Yungoo's runs at Grimer and rams it in the chest, knocking him back. Grimer crawls at Yungoos and bites him in the abdomen.
"That was Bite!" said Edd. It turned purple under Yungoos' eyes, and he coughs. "Strange. I know that was Bite, but that move doesn't poison a Pokemon, and it didn't look like Poison Fang." Yungoos coughs from his poisoning and loses some stamina.
"Tackle, again!" said Ed. Yungoos rams into Grimer again, knocking it to the ground. Ed pulls an empty pokeball out of his backpack and throws it at the Grimer, hitting it and sucking it in. After the pokeball wiggled around a few times, it clicks, indicating Grimer's capture. Ed picks up Grimer's pokeball. "Oh boy! I caught a Grimer." Edd uses the Rotom Pokedex to learn about Ed's new Grimer.
"Okay, Ed. Your Grimer is part poison and part dark, it's a boy, he knows Pound, Poison Gas, Harden, and Bite. He has the Poison Touch ability, which has the chance of poisoning a Pokemon he attacks physically. That explains why Bite poisoned Yungoos when it normally doesn't poison a Pokemon." Edd looks at Yungoos who was still poisoned. He reaches into his backpack and pulls out the Antidote his Pikipek found. "Here, Ed. Use this on Yungoos to cure him of his poisoning.
"Thanks, Double-D." said Ed, taking the Antidote. He sprays Yungoos with it and he was cured of his poisoning. They hear rustling in the bushes and a Pokemon that looked like a metal sphere with an eye in the middle, a screw on top, and a magnet on each side of it floats up from the tall grass. "What's that, Double-D?" The Rotom Pokedex floats in front of the Pokemon and analyzes it.
"Magnemite, the Magnet Pokemon. Perhaps because electrical lines are often buried these days, the number of Magnemite attacks on power plants has increased." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Intriguing. Magnetism is one of my interests, so this Pokemon seems like it would suit me." said Edd. He looks at his three pokeballs. "Magnemite is part steel and part electric. Both of my Pokemon would be at a disadvantage due to electric type moves being strong against water and flying types like my Popplio and Pikipek, and since it's part steel, none of my Spinarak's moves would do well against it, especially Poison Sting, due to steel types being immune to poison type moves. But since steel types are vulnerable to fighting type moves; Pikipek's Rock Smash attack would be my best chance." He throws Pikipek's pokeball and releases him from it.
"Go get it, Double-D!" said Sarah.
"Pikipek, use Rock Smash!" said Edd. Pikipek flies at Magnemite and slams his beak down onto it, doing super effective damage. Parts of Magnemite suddenly started to crack a bit.
"Looks like Rock Smash weakened its defense, Double-D!" said Eddy. Magnemite suddenly started surging with energy.
"What's this?" asked Edd. Suddenly, Magnemite releases a jolt of electricity at Pikipek, hitting him and doing super effective damage. "Pikipek! Are you okay?" Pikipek turns towards Edd and nods. "Very well. Use Rock Smash one more time!" Pikipek flies at Magnemite and uses Rock Smash on it again. Edd immediately and quickly pulls out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Magnemite, hitting it and sucking it in. The ball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"You did it, Double-D!" said Ed. Edd runs over and picks up the pokeball.
"Success! I caught a Magnemite!" said Edd. The Rotom Phone flies in front of Edd and displays Magnemite's information. "My new Magnemite is neither a boy or girl, it knows Tackle, Supersonic, Thunder Shock, and Magnet Bomb. It has the Analytic ability which increases his power if he attacks after its opponent does." He and Ed then exit the grassy area and meet up with the others.
"Good work, you two." said Professor Kukui.
"That was amazing." said Sarah.
"Thank you." said Edd. They all spent time in the school, learning about some of the Pokemon that can be found in Alola. Sarah and Jimmy learned lots of facts that can help them in the future as well. After a few hours, the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy decided they were done for the day. They go to the front of the school and meet up with Professor Kukui.
"So, what did you think of the Trainer School?" asked Professor Kukui.
"It was quite the fascinating experience." said Edd.
"And me and Double-D caught new Pokemon." said Ed.
"I really need to catch some Pokemon for myself." said Eddy.
"Me, too." said Sarah.
"I'm sure you all will. The Alola Region is full of many kinds of Pokemon; so you could find some that would interest you." said Professor Kukui. They look up at the sky and see it was getting dark.
"It seems we were here longer than I realized." said Edd.
"You kids should go to the Pokemon Center and get some dinner." said Professor Kukui.
"Indeed. I am feeling a bit peckish." said Edd.
"I'm hungry, too." said Jimmy.
"Well don't let me keep stop you." said Professor Kukui. "And good luck on your journey."
"Thanks." said Eddy as he and the others headed back to the Pokemon Center. After they gave the nurse their Pokemon to be treated, they had dinner, showered and brushed their teeth (except Ed), and went to bed.
