Hau'oli City
After waking up and having breakfast, The Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy picked up their Pokemon from the nurse, and left the Pokemon Center.
"Well, gentlemen, and Sarah, shall we continue with our journey?" asked Edd.
"You bet." said Eddy.
"I want to catch more Pokemon!" said Sarah.
"Yes, Sarah. You will need more Pokemon if you hope to win the juniors division." said Edd.
"I need more Pokemon, too." said Eddy. "So let's find some." They head into Hau'oli and start looking around. They see several fenced-in grassy areas and start checking them out. Sarah was looking when she hears something behind her. She turns to see a pink Pokemon with dark blue legs and a red round nose that looked like it was wearing a dark blue hat with a white ball at the end of it.
"Ooh. Another cute Pokemon!" said Sarah. Edd turns towards the Pokemon and the Rotom Pokedex flies out of Edd's bag and floats in front of the Pokemon.
"Mime Jr, the Mime Pokemon. When this gifted mimic surprises an opponent, Mime Jr. feels so happy that it ends up forgetting it was imitating something." said the Rotom Pokedex. Sarah pulls a pokeball out of her pocket.
"Let's go, Ledyba!" said Sarah, throwing Ledyba's pokeball and releasing her. The Mime Jr leaps at Ledya and begins tickling her, making her laugh. "Why is that Pokemon tickling Ledyba?"
"That must be Tickle. It weakens the attack and defense of the Pokemon it's used on." said Edd.
"Use Swift!" said Sarah. Ledyba releases stars from her body and they hit Mime Jr. Mime Jr becomes surrounded by a blue aura and unleashes Swift onto Ledyba. "Did that Pokemon use Swift?"
"That must be Copycat. It's a move that copies the last attack used during a battle, Sarah." said Edd.
"Ledyba, Supersonic!" said Sarah. Ledyba releases blue soundwaves and they hit Mime Jr. It began stumbling around. Mime Jr's eyes glow blue, but the glow bursts, hurting Mime Jr. "Tackle!" Ledyba flies at Mime Jr and rams it, knocking it to the ground. Sarah pulls an empty pokeball out of her backpack and throws it at Mime Jr, hitting it. It gets sucked into the pokeball and after it wiggled around for a couple seconds, it clicks, indicating Mime Jr's capture. "Yay! I caught a Mime Jr."
"Congratulations, Sarah." said Edd. He takes the Rotom Pokedex and uses it to learn more about Sarah's Mime Jr. "It says your Mime Jr's part fairy and part psychic, she's a girl, she knows Tickle, Barrier, Confusion, Copycat, and Meditate. She has the Filter ability. That reduces damage done by attacks that would do a lot of damage to her. A very useful ability." Sarah smiles in response.
With Jimmy, he was exploring an area when he sees a yellow mouselike Pokemon with pointy, black-tipped ears, and a small black tail.
"This Pokemon looks so adorable!" said Jimmy. The Rotom Pokedex flies up to the new Pokemon and scans it.
"Pichu, the Tiny Mouse Pokemon. It has electric sacs in its cheeks. When they're fully charged, Pichu plays very energetically." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"I want to capture this one." said Jimmy as he releases his Inkay from her pokeball. "Okay, Inkay. Use Tackle!" Inkay flies at the Pichu and rams it. All of a sudden, Inkay started to twitch as static electricity covers her body.
"Jimmy! I think that Pichu has the Static ability!" said Edd. "Ed's Electivire had that ability back when he was an Elekid. It paralyzes any Pokemon that hits the Pokemon with that ability with a physical move."
"What now?" asked Jimmy.
"Don't worry. There's a chance that Inkay will still be able to attack. You just have to keep trying." said Edd.
"Okay!" said Jimmy. Pichu releases a small jolt of electricity from its body that hits Inkay. "Inkay, use Tackle again!" Inkay tried to use Tackle, but paralysis kicks in, stopping her. Pichu smiles and stares cutely at Inkay. A surge of energy flows up from Inkay.
"I think that Pichu tried using Charm against Inkay. Normally it would weaken a Pokemon's attack power; but thanks to Inkay's Contrary ability, it makes it do the opposite, so now Inkay's attack power is stronger."
"Goody! Inkay, try using Foul Play!" said Jimmy. Inkay manages to fight through paralysis and grabs onto Pichu with her tentacles, then slams it down onto the ground. Jimmy quickly grabs a pokeball from his backpack and throws it at the Pichu, hitting it and sucking it in. After a few seconds of wiggling, the pokeball clicks, indicating a successful capture. Jimmy runs over and picks up the pokeball. "I caught a Pichu!"
"Congratulations, Jimmy." said Edd. The Rotom Phone then displays information on Jimmy's new Pichu. "This says your Pichu is an electric type, it's a girl, she knows Thunder Shock, Charm, and Tail Whip; and we already assumed she has the Static ability." With Eddy, he was looking around for some Pokemon to capture when he comes across a purple, bipedal, catlike Pokemon with a gold charm on it's head, and two whiskers on each side of its head. The Rotom Pokedex comes over and scans the Pokemon.
"Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokemon. A royal house that flourished in the distant past brought it here from another region. Meowth is both selfish and prideful." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"It reminds me of,well...me." said Eddy. He pulls out his Grubbin's pokeball and releases him from it. The Meowth moves to the left, then quickly moves at Grubbin and hits him. Grubbin flinches after getting hit. "That must've been Fake Out!" Meowth then runs at Grubbin and claws at his face. "Grubbin, use Mud Slap!" Grubbin flings some mud into Meowth's face. Meowth runs at Grubbin and tries biting down on him, but it misses. "Grubbin, use Vise Grip!" Grubbin clamps down on the Meowth and does damage to it. Eddy takes an empty pokeball from his backpack and throws it at the Meowth, hitting it and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before it clicks, indicating a successful capture. "Sweet! I caught Meowth!" The Rotom Pokedex displays Eddy's new Meowth's information.
"Okay, Eddy. This says that your Meowth is a dark type Pokemon, it's a girl, she knows Scratch, Growl, Bite, and Fake Out; and she has the PIckup ability like my Pikipek does." said Edd.
"Sweet!" said Eddy.
"Hey. I found another Pokemon, you guys!" said Ed. The others look to see Ed looking at the doglike Pokemon Ed saw on the day they arrived in Alola. The Rotom Pokedex floats in front of the Pokemon.
"Furfrou, the Poodle Pokemon. Left alone, its fur will grow longer and longer, but it will only allow someone it trusts to cut it." said the Rotom Pokedex. Ed pulls Rowlet's pokeball out of his pocket.
"Rowlet, come on out!" said Ed as he throws Rowlet's pokeball, releasing him. Rowlet and Furfrou stare at each other. "Rowlet, use Growl!" Rowlet opens his beak and lets out a loud cry, releasing soundwave onto Furfrou. Furfrou runs at Rowlet and rams him, but not doing much damage due to Growl weakening Furfrou's physical attacks. "Use Peck!" Rowlet flies at Furfrou and pecks it. Furfrou turns and kicks sand into Rowlet's eyes.
"I think that was Sand Attack!" said Edd.
"Use Leafage!" said Ed. Rowlet's wings glow green and he releases glowing green leaves from his body and they hit Furfrou. Furfrou rams into Rowlet again, but once again, not doing much damage. "Tackle, Rowlet!" Rowlet flies at Furfrou, but misses due to Sand Attack lowering his accuracy. Furfrou opens its mouth and lets out a howl, releasing soundwaves onto Rowlet. "Leafage!" Rowlet unleashes more leaves onto Furfrou, hitting it, and knocking it to the ground. Ed takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Furfrou, hitting it and sucking it in. After the pokeball wiggled around a few times, it stops and clicks, indicating Furfrou's capture. "Oh boy! I caught a Furfrou!"
"Good for you, Ed." said Eddy. Edd uses the Rotom Pokedex to learn more about Ed's new Furfrou.
"This says Furfrou is a normal type, it's a girl, she knows Tackle, Growl, Sand Attack, and Baby-Doll eyes; and she has the Fur Coat ability, which halves the damage done to her by physical attacks." said Edd.
"Cool." said Ed. They took some time to train their Pokemon for a while. They became stronger as they did. Ed's Yungoos learned Odor Sleuth, his Grimer learned Disable, and his Furfrou learned Headbutt. Sarah's Ledyba learned Light Screen, Reflect, and Safeguard, and her Mime Jr learned Double Slap. Jimmy's Riolu learned Counter, his Butterfree learned Confusion, his Inkay learned Swagger and his Pichu learned Sweet Kiss. During Jimmy's Riolu's training, he froze up and started to glow.
"Riolu's evolving!" said Jimmy. Everyone gathered and watched as Riolu started to change. When he was done, Riolu was taller, his ears were longer, and he had spikes coming out of his hands and chest. The Rotom Pokedex flies in front of the newly evolved Riolu and scans it.
"Lucario, the Aura Pokemon, and the evolved form of Riolu. Lucario reads its opponent's feelings with its aura waves. It finds out things it would rather not know, so it gets stressed out easily." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Congratulations, Jimmy." said Edd. He looks at the Rotom Pokedex for more information on Jimmy's Lucario. "If I remember correctly from our gym battle in Veilstone City, Lucario is part fighting and part steel, and your Lucario just learned Aura Sphere." Jimmy looks at his new Lucario with awe in his eyes.
"You look so strong, Lucario." said Jimmy. Lucario smiles at Jimmy and nods.
"Since he's part steel type now, he'll have resistance to flying and psychic type moves now, and poison type attacks will be useless against him." said Edd.
"He's so amazing." said Jimmy as he hugs his Lucario.
"Let's see more of the city." said Eddy. They explore the shopping district and check out the beach with Eddy mainly looking at girls. They stop by the Pokemon Center to treat their Pokemon as well as grab some lunch.
"We're doing quite well so far, everyone." said Edd.
"Yeah!" said Ed.
"What now?" asked Sarah.
"We'll check out the southern part of the city and see if there are other kinds of Pokemon there." said Edd.
"Good idea." said Eddy. After they ate, they left the Pokemon Center and head for the south part of Hau'oli City. What awaits the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy as their journey continues?
