Ride Pager and Ten Carat Hill
At Peach Creek, the next morning; Ed and Sarah's parents were in their living room, watching TV when they heard a ringing on their computer. They looked to see someone was trying to call them, via video chat. They walk over to the computer and pushed the 'ACCEPT' button on the monitor. The computer monitor then showed Ed and Sarah.
"Hi, Mom. Hi, Dad." said Ed.
"Sarah, are you okay?!" asked Ed and Sarah's mother.
"Yes, Mommy." replied Sarah.
"I still can't believe you stowed away." said Ed and Sarah's mother.
"Sorry, Mommy. I just wanted to see more Pokemon." said Sarah.
"Well, there's nothing we can do about it now." said Ed and Sarah's mother. "So how are things in the Alola Region?"
"It's been great." said Sarah. She then told her parents about the Junior's Division and her intention to compete in it. She also told them about the Melemele Island's trials and how she and the others completed them.
"We're so proud of you and your brother." said Ed and Sarah's father.
"And if I win the Junior's Division, I'll probably be just as famous as Ed and his friends." said Sarah.
"Ed is famous?" asked Ed and Sarah's mother. Sarah then told her and Ed's parents about the Eds fans and the Ed merchandise she saw. Ed and Sarah's parents had stunned looks on their faces.
"I never would have guessed our son would become that popular." said Ed and Sarah's father. "Well, we hope you two do well in the Alola League and the Junior's Division."
"We'll do our best, Daddy." said Sarah. They then ended the call. Edd, Eddy, Sarah, and Jimmy showered and brushed their teeth while Ed went straight to their room and into bed. The other then climbed into their beds and went to next morning after the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy had breakfast and Eddy picking up his Pokemon, they exited the Pokemon Center.
"What now, you guys?" asked Ed.
"Well now that we complete the trials here on Melemele Island, I see no reason for us to stay here, so I guess we should go to the next island and do the trials there." said Edd.
"So which island do we go to next?" asked Eddy. The Rotom Pokedex suddenly flies out of Edd's backpack and floats in front of the group. The Rotom Pokedex then displays the map of the entire Alola Region. Edd looks at the map.
"Okay, it would appear the island that is closest to Melemele Island is Akala Island." said Eddy.
"Sweet. Akala Island, here we come." said Eddy.
"I can't wait to see what Pokemon are there." said Ed.
"Me too." said Sarah.
"I hope I can find some more cute ones." said Jimmy.
"I'll catch Pokemon no matter how they look." said Ed.
"Hey." the group heard someone calling out to them. They turned to see Professor Kukui and Lillie walking over to them.
"Oh, hello Professor Kukui." said Edd. He then looks at Lillie, smiles lovingly at her, and blushes. "Hello, Lillie."
"Hello, Double D." replied Lillie.
"I just came to congratulate you kids on passing your trials here." said Professor Kukui.
"Thank you, Professor Kukui." said Edd.
"I also want to give you kids something that will help you on your journey." said Professor Kukui. He reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a light green device that had a small monitor on the lower part of it and a crystal pokeball on the upper end of it.
"What's that?" asked Eddy.
"This is a Ride Pager." replied Professor Kukui. "With this, you can summon a Ride Pokemon.
"Ride Pokemon?" said Jimmy.
"They're Pokemon that were trained to help people travel or do various tasks for them." said Professor Kukui.
"Sweet." said Eddy. Professor Kukui gives Ed the Ride Pager.
"But keep in mind, they're not trained to battle. So far, there's only one Ride Pokemon on this pager." said Professor Kukui. "To use it, simply touch the Pokemon on the list on the monitor, then let it out of the pokeball on it."
"Okay." said Ed. He looks at the small monitor and sees the image of a bull-like Pokemon on it. He touches the image and the pokeball on the Ride Pager flashes. Ed pulls out the pokeball. It opens up, releasing the bull-like Pokemon. The Rotom Pokedex floats in front of the Pokemon.
"Tauros, the Wild Bull Pokemon. The climate seems to be related to the reason Tauros in Alola are a little calmer than those in other regions." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Cool." said Ed.
"Can we get more Ride Pokemon?" asked Sarah.
"Yes, but from some of the other trial captains or kahunas." said Professor Kukui. "Tauros is from Kahuna Hala." Ed saw that Tauros had a green chair that had handlebars and headlights attached to it mounted on it. Ed climbs onto it. "Ed, you can use Tauros to ram large boulders that are blocking your path. There's some on Route 1 that are blocking an area that may have some Pokemon you kids haven't seen here yet. Try it out."
"Okay." replied Ed. Ed grabs the handlebars. "Let's go, Tauros." Tauros runs up a path up Route 1 while the others follow. Ed and Tauros soon reached large rocks that did appear to be blocking a path leading to a grassy area. "Let's destroy those rocks, Tauros." Tauros charges at the rocks with incredible speed and rams them, destroying them. "Cool!"
"That was neat!" said Sarah.
"Ride Pokemon will be a big help for you kids." said Professor Kukui.
"Thank you, Professor Kukui." said Edd. Jimmy frolics past the others and down the path the rocks were blocking. As he neared the tall grass, a Rockruff jumps out of it.
"Hey, a Rockruff." said Jimmy. "I'm going to catch this Pokemon."
"According to the pokedex, Rockruffs are rock type Pokemon, Jimmy." said Edd. Jimmy pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Then I have just the Pokemon to help." said Jimmy. "Lucario, go!" He throws Lucario's pokeball and releases him.
"Wow. I didn't know your Riolu evolved." said Professor Kukui. Rockruff turns around and uses its hind legs to kick sand into Lucario's eyes.
"That was Sand Attack." said Edd.
"Lucario, use Brick Break!" said Jimmy. Lucario leaps at Rockruff and swings his arm at it but misses. "That's okay, Lucario." Rockruff leaps at Lucario and bites his abdomen. "Use Aura Sphere!" Lucario holds out his hand and unleashes a blue sphere of energy and was able to hit Rockruff, doing super effective damage to it, and knocking it to the ground. As it struggled to get up, Jimmy pulls out an empty pokeball and throws it at Rockruff, hitting it. It gets sucked into the pokeball and it wiggled around before clicking, indicating a successful capture. "Yippee. I caught a Rockruff. Edd takes the Rotom Pokedex and uses it to look up Rockruff's info. "Okay. Your Rockruff is a boy, he knows Tackle, Leer, Sand Attack, Bite, and Howl. He also has the Vital Spirit ability which prevents him from sleeping."
"So, moves like Sleep Powder or Hypnosis will have no effect on him?" asked Jimmy.
"Precisely." said Edd. He suddenly thinks back and remembers the large rocks that were blocking a cave entrance near Professor Kukui's lab.
"Professor?" said Edd. "Wasn't there a cave near your lab?"
"That would be Ten Carat Hill." said Professor Kukui.
"I recall that it was blocked off by large rocks." said Edd. "Perhaps we can use Tauros to break through them."
"That's a good idea." said Professor Kukui. "When you five are done exploring that area, Lillie and I will meet all of you at the marina in Hau'oli City."
"Very well, Professor Kukui." said Edd. The group heads back towards the Hau'oli Outskirts and make their way to Ten Carat Hill. When they arrive, Ed had Tauros destroy the boulders that were blocking their way into it.
"Sweet!" said Eddy. "Now we can check it out." Ed returns the Ride Tauros to the Ride Pager pokeball.
"Be careful, kids." said Professor Kukui.
"We will, Professor." said Edd. They all then enter the cave and start exploring.
"So, what kind of Pokemon do you think there are here?" asked Ed. He got his answer when he sees a blue, rocklike Pokemon with a yellow hexagon in the center of it, and brown, rocky feet walking by. "What's that Pokemon?" The Rotom Pokedex comes out of Edd's backpack and floats in front of the Pokemon.
"Roggenrola, the Mantle Pokemon. It was found in a fissure in a layer of exposed rock. The material that makes up its body is dirt from several hundred years ago." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"I'm catching this Pokemon." said Ed, pulling a pokeball out of his pocket. "Dartrix, Let's go!" He throws Dartrix's pokeball and releases him. "Dartrix, Leafage!" Dartrix spreads his wings and releases glowing green leaves and they hit Roggenrola, dealing super effective damage. Roggenrola shoots a couple of rocks out of the hexagon on it and they hit Dartrix, dealing super effective damage.
"Careful, Ed. Dartrix is part flying, they're weak against rock type moves." said Edd.
"Got it, Double D. Dartrix, Razor Leaf!" said Ed. Dartrix's flaps his wings, releasing green leaves and they hit Roggenrola, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it to the ground. Ed takes an empty pokeball out of his pocket and throws it at Roggenrola, hitting it. It gets sucked into the pokeball and after it wiggled around, it clicks, indicating Roggenrola's capture. "Yay! I caught a Roggenrola, you guys."
"Good work, Ed." said Edd. He then uses the Rotom Pokedex to look up Roggenrola's information. "Your Roggenrola is a rock type, it's a male, he knows Tackle, Harden, Sand Attack, Headbutt, and Rock Blast. He has the Weak Armor ability, so when he gets hit with a physical move, his defense weakens, but his speed greatly increases."
"Cool." said Ed.
" Fortunately, Dartrix didn't use any physical moves on him." said Edd.
"Come on, let's keep looking around." said Eddy. They continued walking through the cave until they see another entrance. They entered it and found themselves in a large area surrounded by small hills, open sky and grassy fields.
"This place looks nice." said Jimmy.
"You got that right." said Sarah. She looks around the area and suddenly sees a gray, rocklike Pokemon with light blue crystals embedded in it floating out of tall grass. "What's that Pokemon, Double D?" After seeing the Pokemon, Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the new Pokemon.
"Carbink, the Jewel Pokemon. To keep the jewels on their bodies free of tarnish, packs of Carbink use their soft manes to polish one another's jewels." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"I love those jewels on it." said Sarah as she pulls out a pokeball. "I'm catching this Pokemon. Let's go, Petilil." She throws Petilil's pokeball and releases her. Petilil and Carbink stare at each other. "Petilil, Leech Seed!" Petilil shoots a seed from the top of her head, and it hits Carbink. The seed opens up and small, leafy vines shoot out of it and they wrap around Carbink. A gold ball of energy forms in front of Carbink and it launches it at Petilil, hitting her, and knocking her to the ground. The vines from Leech Seed become surrounded by red energy and some of it gets absorbed into Petilil, healing some of her wounds. "Use Mega Drain!" A dark green beam of energy shoots out of Petilil's head and hits Carbink, absorbing its energy and healing the rest of Petilil's wounds. Carbink falls to the ground. Sarah takes an empty pokeball out of her pocket and she throws it at Carbink. It hits Carbink and sucks it in. After it wiggled around a few times, it clicks, indicating Carbink's capture. "Oh boy. I caught a Carbink."
"Congratulations, Sarah." said Edd.
"You did good." said Ed. Edd then uses the Rotom Pokedex to learn more about Sarah's new Carbink.
"According to this, your Carbink is part rock, part fairy, it has no gender, but it does know Tackle, Harden, Rock Throw, Sharpen, and Smack Down. It has the Clear Body ability, which keeps all its stats from being lowered." said Edd.
"You mean if a Pokemon used Growl on it, it won't weaken its attack?" asked Sarah.
"Yes, Sarah." replied Edd. The gang splits up to explore the area. As Sarah was looking around, she sees a Nugget on the ground. She quickly picks it up.
"Hey, everyone! I found a Nugget!" exclaimed Sarah.
"Good work, Sarah." said Edd. "You know, you can sell that at a PokeMart for 5,000 pokedollars."
"Whoa." said Sarah, looking at the Nugget with a stunned look on her face. Jimmy runs over to Edd holding a Star Piece.
"Double D, do you know what this is?" asked Jimmy, holding the Star Piece up.
"Why that's a Star Piece." replied Edd. "You can sell that for 4,900 pokedollars." Jimmy looked at the Star Piece with a shocked look on his face.
"Wow!" said Jimmy. As he, Sarah, Ed, and Eddy looked around the area, Edd decided to explore more of the cave area. He walked across the cavern until he came across another entrance. He enters it and saw he was now on a ledge that overlooked the area he and the others were in, but what got Edd's attention was near the edge of the ledge was a pedestal just like the one at Verdant Cavern. In it was a blue Z-Crystal that had the image of wings on it.
"A Z-Crystal." said Edd. He walks over to the pedestal and pulls the Z-Crystal out. "I can't believe I found a Z-Crystal." As he turns around, he sees a woman with light, bluish-white hair, wearing a sky-blue visor, a polo shirt with gray-blue and light blue stripes, light blue skirt, knee high orange socks with a white stripe around each of them, white shoes, while holding a golf club. "Oh, hello."
"The glistening Flyinium Z." said the woman.
"Flyinium Z? Is that what this Z-Crystal is?" asked Edd.
"Yes. It is yours now." said the woman. "Watch as I show you the dance to activate it." The woman crosses her arms in front of her face, then sticks out her arms while still crossed, then lowers her arms down her side as if she was flapping them like wings, then raises up her left fist. "By doing this dance, you will use the move of the Flyinium Z, Supersonic Skystrike. It will work for any of your Pokemon that knows a flying type move.
"My Trumbeak knows a couple." said Edd. The woman nods and walks away. Back at the area the others were in, they decided they explored the area long enough and decided to leave. As they neared the entrance, Ed sees a Hard Stone and stops to pick it up.
"Hey, a Hard Stone." said Ed.
"My Golem has one of those." replied Eddy. "You should give it to your Roggenrola."
"Okay, Eddy." said Ed. He lets his Roggenrola out of his pokeball and gives him the Hard Stone before returning him to his pokeball. After exiting the area, they see Edd walking over to them.
"Hey, Double-D." said Ed.
"Hello, everyone." replied Edd.
"So where were you, Double D?" asked Sarah.
"Just thought I'd explore the rest of this cave." replied Edd.
"Did you find anything?" asked Eddy. Edd pulls out the Flyinium Z out of his pocket and shows it to the others. "A Z-Crystal?!"
"Yes. Flyinium Z to be exact." said Edd. He then tells them about the woman he met and the dance needed to activate the Z-Crystal.
"Can't believe you found a Z-Crystal here." said Eddy.
"Perhaps we'll find more on our journey." said Edd. "We'll most likely get more from completing more trials."
"Well then let's get going." said Eddy. They walked until they reached the cave entrance. They exited the cave and began walking to Hau'oli City to get their Pokemon healed at the Pokemon Center and to prepare for their trip to Akala Island where their next trial await them.
