Doctor Ivo Robotnik is the third born of three children, the youngest of the bunch. While his eldest sibling, Colin Sr. went off to be a warmonger, Ivo sought out the path of his late grandfather, Gerald Robotnik, in order to follow in his footsteps. However, a tragic accident led to his fall from grace, and subsequent turn to the dark side. But what of the middle sibling…?

Within the police station in Casino Night, both Sonic and Tails were brought in for questioning by an irate robotic monkey girl, who growled at the duo for disturbing the peace.

Monkey: "Let's see… Your charges are as follows… Disturbing the peace after a recent attack, causing a panic amongst the populace; destruction of property; starting an illegal street brawl… Do any of these sound accurate?"

Sonic: "Well, the brawl one might definitely be my bad…"

Monkey: "IT'LL BE MORE THAN YOUR BAD! Give me one reason why I shouldn't just dump you two onto the nearest island and leave you stranded!"

Tails: "Please, listen, miss… uh…"

Monkey: "Coconuts. Coco for short."

Tails: "Coconuts… We didn't mean to start any trouble! We just wanted to find a place to sleep and those three just attacked us!"

Coconuts: "A likely story. You two are just as guilty as those three. And trust me, Bearanger is already in trouble for letting his temper destroy city property before. Ugh… He always does that…"

Sonic leans in to whisper to Tails.

Sonic: "The fact that this girl knows that bear by name is usually telling at how much trouble those three get into around here… So I imagine this isn't their first street brawl…"

Tails: "You can say that again…"

Coconuts: "Alright! Listen up! The judge will be here in any minute to determine your punishment! She'll have the final say on what happens to you; but don't expect to be walking out of here. Since I'm in a gambling mood, I bet my life savings of bananas that you two'll be in jail for a very long time."

Sonic and Coconuts glare at each other before the latter backs away and waits for confirmation that the judge was on her way. Not even a minute later, she gets one by a communication. Sonic and Tails gulp as they sense an intimidating aura close in. The sound of high heels tapping on the marble floor outside, each step getting louder and louder. The security outside moves aside as the door creaks open. A feminine figure walks in, a lab coat on, her hands in her pockets. She had a violet short dress, one that didn't have any shoulder cloth, just straps to hold it in place. The woman had quite a beautiful figure, definitely for a human, standing quite tall. On her face, a pair of blue circular glasses. Her hair a long reddish-brown, tied into a ponytail while her front bang hung over one side of her face. The air is heavy as Tails and Sonic stare at the supposed judge before the woman finally spoke.

Woman: "It's been a long time… Spike."

Sonic: "'Spike'? No one's called me that in a long time. The only ones who called me that were Uncle Jules and…"

Something clicked in Sonic's mind as his eyes widened. He looks at the woman in front of him over and over again. While her hair was different and she was certainly older looking, Sonic could vaguely remember this lady.

Sonic: "Jen!?"

Coconuts: "KYI!? Don't you dare disrespect Lady Jenni by referring to her by such-"

Jenni: "Can it, Coco. Or else I'll shove one of those bombs of yours down your throat."

Coconuts reeled back in fear as she pipes down. The level of authority on display was staggering. Tails could recognize that this lady was far more than she appeared.

Tails: "S-Sonic? You know her?"

Sonic: "Barely. She was my babysitter when I was about four years old! She was up until I was eight!"

Jenni: "Hmm… Let's see… If I recall correctly… The last time we met, we were trying to finish a puzzle set you brought out, but then Aleena and Bernadetta came home sooner than expected. So we never finished it. Especially once things got busy for me."

Sonic: "I remember. It was a picture of a park in Central City. Five thousand pieces. You wanted to go slow because you wanted to spend time with me… I was against it, but with you… It was actually kind of awesome going slow for once."

Jenni: "Sorry to say, Spike, but in terms of spending time…"

Jenni adjusts her glasses, hiding a sudden saddened expression on her face as she shakes her head.

Jenni: "No. Never mind. Anyway, good to see you."

Jenni turns to Coco, expecting the robot to get the cuffs off Sonic and Tails.

Coconuts: "...Wh- You can't be serious. They are tried for a lot of things! Why are you being so lenient with them!?"

Jenni: "They didn't know the rules around here. Plus, I consider them family. And if you want to arrest family, I do hope you're prepared for the consequences of that action."

Coco once again reels back in fear before nodding, understanding that disobeying her creator would be a fatal mistake. She uncuffs Sonic then Tails, backing away quickly before she accidentally oversteps her boundaries. Jenni adjusts her glasses again before turning.

Jenni: "Follow me you two."

Jenni leaves with Sonic and Tails following her. Sonic does note that something about Jenni, other than her physical appearance, was different from how he remembered her. But he chose to keep his mouth shut as the three enter a limo outside the station.

As the trio ride the limo to Jenni's mansion, Tails looks at the taller woman and decides to ask a question.

Tails: "Um… Mrs. Jenni…"

Jenni: "Yes?"

Tails: "You… uh… know Sonic? That much?"

Jenni: "We're close, but I only watched him on the random occasion. Most times, I'm at home dealing with my own business."

Sonic: "Yep. Though I had no idea she knew Uncle Chuck."

Jenni simply laughs a rich lady's laugh as she hears that name.

Jenni: "You mean Charles? I honestly can't believe you still call him by that name."

Sonic: "Well why not?"

Jenni: "No real reason. I just figured you'd call him 'Uncle Charles' is all."

Sonic: "Eh. Not as good a ring to it as 'Uncle Chuck'."

Jenni only lightly giggled at this, but left it at that. She then turned her attention back to Tails.

Jenni: "I know Sonic well enough to give him a little nickname. One he'd appreciate, even just a little. Though once again, the last time we last saw each other was when he was nine, seven years ago. You've grown a lot, Spike."

Sonic: "Yeah well… You look a big haggard yourself. You're only, like what, forty?"

Jenni: "I won't deny it… I do look a bit rough around the edges right now. And there's a few reasons for that."

Sonic decides not to pry into that chestnut, seeing no reason to. He then gets serious and asks the hard hitting questions.

Sonic: "Jen. I wish I could say this was just a casual visit, but… Well… It isn't. Me and Tails are here to ask a few questions."

Jenni: "Does it involve the recent attack on Casino Night and Metropolis? I'm very well aware of that, Spike."

Sonic: "It's related. We were hoping you'd tell us who's behind it and why they would want… this."

Sonic pulls out his Chaos Emerald. He expected Jenni to react with a jump or a look of surprise, but she just stared at it with a nonchalant look, staring at it for a brief moment before returning her attention to Sonic.

Jenni: "Explanations can wait. Right now, another thing needed my attention before you two arrived."

Sonic: "Another thing?"

Jenni did not elaborate, simply waiting for them to arrive at her mansion at Hill Top to go into further detail.

The trio arrive at Jenni's mansion without much delay. The inside of the mansion was exactly what they expected - an extravagant three story building with enough ground to build a large playground on. Various of the security robots were hard at work tending to the fields and shrubs around the mansion. As they approached the front door, a small hologram of a lynx girl appeared to greet Jenni.

Nicole: "Lady Jenni. Welcome back. I have come to inform you that one of our other guests has just woken up."

Jenni: "Ah. Excellent timing. Tell her that we'll be there shortly."

Sonic looks at the hologram, raising an eyebrow.

Sonic: "Who's the little lady here? Is she the head of security?"

Nicole only giggles at this assessment before doing a curtsy towards the hedgehog and fox, being respectful towards them.

Nicole: "I am Nicole. Lady Jenni's personal assistant and artificial intelligence. It is nice to meet you."

Sonic: "Hey, nice to meet you too. I'm Sonic the Hedgehog! And this here's my buddy Tails!"

Tails: "Wow! Uncle Chuck told me we were still at least a hundred years too early for advanced AI tech! How'd Jenni make one so… life like?"

Nicole and Jenni fall silent as they stare at each other. Jenni then opens the front door.

Jenni: "...We'll get to that."

Nicole bows to the newer guests before vanishing as Jenni enters the door. Sonic and Tails follow, taking in the interior as they enter. The place certainly felt like one big mansion, though there weren't any pictures of Jenni herself on the walls. Just a bunch of glamor shots of various hot spots of Mobius. Jenni walked over to a statue of a Dark Chao, of which neither Sonic or Tails knew anything about, and lifted it to reveal a button. Upon pressing it, an elevator is revealed behind a bookcase.

Sonic: "Bookcase elevator? A bit cliched, don't you think?"

Jenni: "I like the classics. It's why I play the piano a lot."

The trio enter the elevator and descend into the lower depths of the mansion. During the ride, Sonic and Tails see a strip mining network, with various robots digging for and collecting ore.

Sonic: "Whoa. That's quite a network going on outside."

Tails: "Is that how you were able to build so much, Mrs. Jenni?"

Jenni: "Kind of. This mansion and the lab adjacent were built from leftover materials I had. Chemical Plant, Casino Night, and Metropolis were all built after I had a mass produced work force and a mining operation. The chemicals from the Plant recreate new ore and minerals which regrow over time, get mined, and lo and behold, a near infinite supply of building material. This isn't a complicated system - Ivo has something similar."

Sonic: "Ivo… Uncle Chuck brought up that name… Jen? What's your last name?"

Jenni: "...Robotnik. My full name is Jennifer Alice Robotnik."

Sonic: "I figured. Which means you know a lot about this Ivo guy."

The elevator reaches its destination as the doors open.

Jenni: "More than you think, Sonic."

Jenni walks out of the elevator with Sonic and Tails following. As they enter the lab, Sonic reels back as he sees a familiar figure sitting up on a bed, bandaged up. It was Princess Sally!

Sonic: "Sally!"

Sally: "Sonic!?"

The two stare at each other, wide eyed at seeing each other in quite a while. Of course, will this be a heartfelt reunion? Or will there be tension over the recent events?
