DISCLAIMER I DO NOT OWN BROTHERS CONFLICT IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM
"You ready to go?" Natsume asked the day of Tsubaki and Haruhi's wedding.
"I think so," Ema said as she came out in the pink dress Futo had ordered for her.
"How do I look?"
"You look very beautiful," Natsume said with slight pride. He went one step further and kissed her.
Ema blushed. "I still wish we could have helped with the set up for the wedding."
"I know but you couldn't do much with your condition," Natsume said as he led her to the door.
"Juli, are you coming?" Ema called back.
"Yeah sure," Juli said as he jumped up on her shoulder, "might as well see with my own eyes that he goes through with it."
"Such optimism," Natsume said as they finally left.
When they got to the Sunrise estate, they saw a big banner outside the front that read,
CONGRATULATIONS TSUBAKI AND HARUHI. Near the door were a bunch of pink and yellow balloon bouquets as well as streamers above it.
Natsume got out and walked around to the other side of the car, barley helping Ema out when they both saw Louis' car pulling up and him and Yuki getting out. Yuki pulling out a couple of pink and yellow wrapped presents.
"Chi! Hello, long time no see!" Louis called out.
"Hello Louis and Yuki!" Ema called back.
"My goodness, you look amazing!" Louis said as he and Yuki walked up to them. It was then Natsume and Ema noticed Yuki's hair was now dyed the same shade of pink and yellow as the balloons.
"Yeah, you're looking great," she also mentioned with a kind smile.
"Thanks, thoug they're getting a little harder to deal with," Ema admitted.
"Oh, but they'll be worth it in the long run, right?" Louis said, as he put his hand on her belly.
"I suppose," Ema agreed.
"Yeah," Natsume also agreed as the four all headed in.
"Hey, wait up!" they heard Iori calling out.
The group all stopped short of the door to see him and Kyo hurrying to keep up.
"Hello Iori," Ema said happily.
"Wow Ema, you are looking amazing," Iori mentioned.
"It's amazing you're able to walk around like this," Kyo mentioned.
"I'm still able to get around, do everyday tasks," Ema insisted. Right as she said that though, she found herself letting out a sigh.
"You okay Chi?" Louis asked.
"Yeah, one just moved," Ema assured her family.
"Do you need any pain pills?" Natsume asked.
"Maybe, I should probably take one before the ceremony so I'm not causing a distraction," Ema said.
"Once we get you situated I'll get you some water for them," Natsume comforted her as the big group finally made it to the main living room.
There they saw it all decorated with more pink and yellow streamers and balloons.
The rest of their family were all scattered about the room, either helping to make sure the room was fully prepared or mingling with each other.
Near the edge the saw Tsubaki's back as he spoke to a group that soon broke out in laughter. Tsubaki slowly turned around, trying to suppress his laughter when he saw the new comers.
"Hey guys, come here, meet Haruhi's family!" he encouraged, motioning everyone over.
His outfit was all black with a yellow bowtie.
Near him was was an older couple, with a balding man in glasses looking amused, a woman who looked similar to Haruhi smiling, but looking a little awkward, and a teenage girl looking like she was trying to force herself to act board. She even went so far as to turn her to the side as everyone approached.
"This is Haruhi's dad Dr. Isao Onaji, her mom, Dr. Kazuah Onaji and her sister Shima."
"Hello! Hello!" Dr. Isao said cheerfully, shaking everyone's hand.
"Yes, hello," his wife said politely, though she was a little more reserved.
"Hmm," was all their younger daughter would say as she kept her focus away from everyone.
"You'll have to excuse our daughter, she's going through that moody teenager phase!" Dr. Isao joked.
"Dad! Really!" Shima embarrassed, "I might as well go see if Haruhi needs help getting ready!"
"Oh yes, I should get up there, and do her hair!" Louis said quickly.
"Yeah, she's waiting," Tsubaki said as Louis hurried off.
"So you're both doctors?" Natsume asked Haruhi's parents.
"I'm a psychiatrist myself," Dr. Kazuah explained, "while my husband is yes doctor that practices in the medical field."
"Ah, sounds like Haruhi had an interesting home life," said Natsume.
"Well it could have been better," Dr. Kazuah admitted, "my husband and I were still young and in med school when we had her, so we were naturally busy lots of the time. Something I still regret deeply, seeing as how we had to leave her alone a lot. It's actually no wonder she eventually turned to a life of voice acting. Having to come up with her own imaginary friends to interact with."
"And she's great at it!" Dr. Isao added with pride.
Shima merely scoffed.
"Shima mind your manners!" her mother scolded.
"Whatever," Shima muttered. She did finally take a good look at five remaining people Tsubaki was introducing.
"So, these are the reaming brothers of yours?" she looking a little intrigued. "Are they seriously all taken?"
"Yep, afraid so," Tsubaki said, "either married or devoted girlfriend."
"Girlfriend huh? Well that would mean they're not fully attached right?" Shima asked a little smug.
"Yeah, good luck with that," her dad joked.
"Wataru's still single," Tsubaki said pointing to where he was playing with Mizu and Kadia.
Mizu was wearing an all white outfit with a yellow necktie and cummerbund.
Kadia was wearing a pink dress with a pink flower crown on her head.
Shima twisted her face in thought.
"Mmm, no," she declared, "too cheerful."
"Yes, why be happy huh?" Dr. Isao call continued to tease.
"Whatever," Shima muttered as she wondered off the the large sofa and took a seat.
"Let's get you to the couch huh?" Natsume said leading Ema that way as well.
"Hey, Tsubaki, where do we put the wedding gifts?" Yuki asked.
"Oh, up top," Tsubaki said pointing the way.
He looked towards Iori and Kyo. "I noticed you two don't have a gift on you."
"It's coming, don't worry," Iori insisted.
"It's not some dumb flower thing is it?" Tsubaki asked.
"No," Iori assured his brother annoyed.
"Though it could be a dumb lizard thing," Kyo mocked.
"Hmm," Tsubaki said. Then he looked at Natsume and Ema.
"You two didn't bring one either, did you?" he tested.
"Ours is being delivered too," Natsume assured him as he helped Ema get situated.
"Need anything?"
"Can I get that water?" Ema asked.
"Be right back," Natsume assured her as he hurried off.
"How soon are you due?" Ema suddenly heard Shima ask.
"Oh," Ema said looking her way, "uh probably the beginning of July."
"Wow, and you're already so big?" Shima asked.
"Shima, be nice," her mother scolded as she sat down next to her, "remember, she's expecting quadruplets."
"Oh you're the one?" Shima said, "eh."
"Um, so are any other of your family here today Dr. Kazuah?" Ema quickly asked, trying to change the subject.
"Just my parents and Isao's mother," Dr. Kazuah pointed them out across the room. Ema couldn't help but notice the two elderly women casting each other dirty looks.
"Our mothers don't get along with each other very well," Dr. Kazuah explained, as though understanding Ema observation.
"Oh," Ema said, "Um, were any other relatives going to come?"
"No, they all either live too far or weren't that close to us, so we just extended the invitation to the grandparents. Tsubaki and Haruhi were attempting to keep it as low key as possible."
"It's just you guys have a family so huge, low key seems impossible!" Dr. Isao said laughing as he sat down between his wife and daughter.
"That is true," Ema agreed, "but it's nice having such a big family in it's own way."
"Yes, I will admit it's amazing to see how close your big family is while our family is much smaller and in actuality has never been that close," Dr. Kazuah said. "You could set an example of how a family should be almost."
"I wouldn't go that far," Ema started to explain,. right as Natsume returned with her water.
"Thank you," Ema said as she pulled out her pills and took them with her water.
"Aren't you like the third triplet to Tsubaki or something?" Shima asked Natsume.
"Yes I am," Natsume said casually.
"Really? 'Cause you don't look identical to him at all," Shima said.
"That's because he and I are separate embryos. But we were still all born together," Natsume explained.
"Is that possible?" Shima asked her dad.
"How do you think you get boy and girl twins or triplets?" Dr. Isao asked smug. "Honestly no wonder you're getting such bad marks in school."
Shima looked at her dad with disgust.
"Hello Ema," Mie said as she suddenly sat down next to her with Subaru. "It's been so long!"
"Yeah, since you've first announced you were pregnant," Subaru also said.
"And you've grown so much since then. You look amazing!" Mie praised.
"Thank you," Ema said.
"Still don't know what you're having?" Mie asked as she rubbed Ema's belly.
"No, we're waiting to see if Hikaru's prediction is right," Natsume said as he sat on the other side of Ema. He looked over at Subaru with a proud smile.
"Congratulations on being named VIP, I knew you could do it," he congratulated his brother.
"Thank you," Subaru said, "you should have seen the party Mie's mother threw for me. It was crazy."
"No doubt," Natsume said. "I have no doubt she is happy to have such a celebrity for a future son-in-law."
Mie and Subaru both looked slightly embarrassed by Natsume's comment.
"We're thinking that once we're married, she'll try and turn me into a spokes person for one of their branches of hotels," Subaru admitted.
"Oh, well, it'll be a good way to support your wife's family business, I'm sure," Natsume tried to encourage his brother.
Subaru looked at Mie with an affection smile. "I suppose," he agreed.
Suddenly Iori and Kyo sat down next to Subaru while Yuki sat down next to Natsume, making sure to save a spot for Louis.
"So how have you all been?" Ema asked looking between the two groups.
"We're doing good," Iori said, "Kyo and I are going back to Australia for a while. I've been asked to present my findings with my research on the desert rose at the University of Queensland."
"And one of my colleagues from our last trip invited me to see his new specimen for study, a Perentie Gonna or monitor lizard! Really anxious to see it up close!" Kyo said excited, "I've actually been doing some great research with the specimens I brought back last time."
"That's good to hear," Natsume said, "it was nice to hear you were both offered teaching positions and grants for study at Okugai University."
"It's been wonderful there actually," Iori said, "both our departments are close enough to each other that we can be close even when our schedules keep us busy."
"It must be fun working at the same place," Ema said.
"It has its perks," Kyo said, looking at Iori happily.
"And what of you and Louis, Yuki?" Natsume asked looking over at the woman.
Yuki just shrugged her shoulders.
"Nothing much, just working at our salons and enjoying it," she said. "Although we are going on a little trip together here soon."
"Oh, where?" Ema asked.
Yuki looked around before she leaned over and said, "The Pink Peony."
"The Pink Peony?" Ema said with a blush. Natsume looked a little embarrassed by hearing the hotel mentioned as well. They both held hands tight.
"I hope you have a good time," Ema said.
"Excuse me, is everyone here and ready?" Sunako suddenly called out from the stairs. She too was in a pink dress with a pink flower crown.
"I think so," Azusa said as he came up to her. He was wearing a black outfit similar to Tsubaki's but with a tie and cummerbund like Mizu.
"Okay, I'll go get the bride," Sunako said, "come on Kadia."
Kaida picked up a basket full of pink flower petals and hurried up the stairs with Sunako.
"I don't know what it is but, something just looks weird seeing Sunako in pink," Natsume whispered.
"Yeah," all his nearby brothers agreed.
Meanwhile everyone else started to hurry to the couch and some of the nearby chairs setup.
Wataru ran over to where Ema was sitting right as Louis appeared and sat down next to Yuki.
"Oh come on!" He whined, "there's no places near big sister!"
"I'm sure you'll have a chance to talk during the reception," Natsume said, motioning Wataru towards the end of the couch where there was still some open spaces.
"Fine," Wataru pouted as he sulked off.
"Guess he'll always be our little spoiled brother, huh?" Louis said.
"I don't know, he's matured a little," Masaomi insisted as he and Rika walked past, near where Wataru was sitting.
Ema looked down at Wataru and waved at him. He eagerly waved back.
Ema then looked back towards the center of the room where Tsubaki, Azusa and Mizu were all standing along with Kaname, dressed in his monk attire.
Keitorin also came to the center of the room, getting down on one knee, snapping pictures.
"This isn't like a shinto wedding ceremony or anything like that?" Dr. Kazuah's father asked as he and his wife sat down next to her.
Dr. Isao's mother meanwhile took a seat next to Shima. Ema could still see the two elderly women casting mean looks behind their family's backs.
"No Dad, everything here is just for show, a way to see Haruhi and Tsubaki come together as husband and wife. It's just his older brother Kaname is religious man so he's just overseeing the service," Dr. Kazuah explained.
Just then Futo started singing. Everyone looked his way and saw him standing next to the staircase as first Kadia started to come down, throwing her flower petals up into the air.
Behind her came Sunako slowly, holding a bouquet of pink roses.
"Isn't that the theme song to the anime Tsubaki and Haruhi star in together that Futo's singing? Ema whispered.
"The opening one," Mie whispered back.
Suddenly Futo began to sing louder as Haruhi suddenly appeared.
She was wearing a white and pink simple looking wedding dress. On her head was a wedding veil with its own flower crown. She also held a bouquet of pink roses, just a different shade than Sunako's.
She had the biggest smile ever seen as she came all the way down and walked towards Tsubaki.
Tsubaki had a smile equally as big as Haruhi's. He reached out and took her hand and held it tight as they stood before Kaname.
"Welcome everyone," Kaname began, "today is a special day when we bare witness to the union of Tsubaki and Haruhi. Today we shall bare witness as they pledge themselves to each other and vow to remain loyal to and committed to each other from here until the day they part from this world."
Kaname continued, saying a blessing and resting a prayer for the couple.
"And now, Tsubaki and Haruhi shall recite their vows," Kaname said.
Tsubaki and Haruhi looked at each other.
"Haruhi, I'll always remember the first day I saw you. There we both were at an audition, you on the gurs' side, me on the boys'. Yet somehow I managed to see you among the crowd. You just seemed the most cheerful among the others. Before long you seemed to notice me too. You smiled back at me, even at one point waving at me.
I knew the. I had to meet you for real. Know your name, find who you were. How surprised I was that you were waiting for me after the audition to do the same. But that one gesture made me realize that you made me happy. And you still do. And now we can be happy together forever."
"Tsubaki, I too remember that day, when I saw you looking at me. It was a little exciting to have someone as cute as you looking my way. Of course I had my self doubt over the whole thing. I had to know for sure. That's why I waited. I wasn't sure what I was expecting as I waited for you. Then as you came out from your audition, I saw a look on your face that gave me hope. Hope that maybe I had found someone special just for me. I know it's selfish to say, but at that moment I wanted you all to myself. And now I as I get my wish, I want you too to have me all to yourself. May it be you and only you forever."
Ema could feel herself getting a little teary eyed at the couples vows.
"How wonderful to hear," Kaname said, "now, Tsubaki, do you officially take Haruhi to be your wife?"
"I do,"
"And Haruhi, do you officially take Tsubaki to be your husband?"
"I do,"
"Then may I have the rings?" Kaname asked, looking at Mizu. Mizu quickly pulled out the rings and handed them to Kaname.
"By placing these rings on each others fingers, you symbolize your enteral bond and commitment to each other."
Tsubaki and Haruhi both slipped the rings on each other's finger.
"And the joining is complete," Kaname said, "I now proudly proclaim you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
Tsubaki eagerly pulled Haruhi to him, who unturned wrapped her arms around him and the two embraced.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, the new Mr. and Mrs. Asahina!" Kaname said as he stepped around the couple still kissing and started to clap.
Everyone else in the room did as well, in addition to standing.
Once the couple was done kissing, Miwa and Kazuah quickly rushed over to them, overlay excited.
The rest of the guests also started to gather around.
Ema noticed Azusa helping Mizu back over to his parents and Sunako doing the same with Kadia before the two joined up themselves.
Ema could also see Keitorin and her father snapping pictures of the crowd gathering around the newlyweds.
It was then Ema realized that she and Natsume were pretty much the only two still on the couch.
It made her feel a little left out.
However, soon both Tsubaki and Haruhi seemed to look over the crowd and saw the pair. The two managed to maneuver their way through the crowd and over to the outsiders.
"Hey," Haruhi said as she came up and hugged Ema as best she could.
"Congratulations!" Ema said happily.
"Thanks," Haruhi said. She and Tsubaki smiled at each other happily.
"It was a lovely ceremony," Natsume said, "we're happy for the two of you."
"Thank you," Tsubaki said.
"I'm a little surprised that you two didn't have a more theme wedding to one of your shows or games," Natsume mentioned.
"We considered that," Tsubaki admitted, "but...,"
"We decided it'd be nicer to have a more timeless wedding," Haruhi continued, "Yeah some of are shows are popular now, but who knows what they'll be say 10 or 50 years from now?"
"I'd say you went with the right choice," Natsume said.
"Of course you do Mr. Serious," Tsubaki teased.
They were all distracted by the sound of a snap and realized Rintaro had managed to get a picture of the four of them together.
"Looking good kids," he said.
"We should probably try getting the big family group picture huh?" Haruhi said, "can somebody get a chair set up for Ema for the family picture?"
"On it!" Ukyo said as he picked up one of the extra chairs by the couch, "center of the room?"
"Shouldn't we get your side done first?" Natsume asked.
"Nah, trust me, your guys' huge side will be easier to get together. Especially with my grandmothers!" Haruhi said.
"Why do your grandmothers hate each other so much?" Ema asked.
"Don't know, they've been that way since I was born. I don't think my parents even fully understand why," Haruhi said.
"Okay, I think we got everyone situated!' Masaomi suddenly shouted, "just need the new couple and the expecting couple!"
Ema looked past Haruhi and Tsubaki and saw all her brothers, their wives or girlfriends, Mizu, Kaida and Miwa all gathered together perfectly, along with a space for Tsubaki and Haruhi to stand and the chair prepared for herself with a spot for Natsume next to it.
There was even a space set up next Miwa for Rintaro who was setting up his camera to take the picture.
"Let's do this!" Haruhi said as she and Tsubaki ran back to the group.
Natsume helped Ema to stand and lead her over to the chair.
"Are you sure it's okay that I'm sitting?" Ema asked timidly.
"Heck yeah, we're not heartless, you have to take care of yourself!" Tsubaki insisted.
"Okay, I got a five minute timer, everyone get ready!" Rintaro called out as he hurried to join the group.
Ema could feel Natsume's hand on her shoulder. She put her hand back on his, making sure to express her love for him.
SNAP
"Okay hold it!" Rintaro ordered as he hurried to his camera and fiddled with it.
"Think we got one more in us?"
"Yeah!" nearly everyone else confirmed.
"Okay, another five minute timer!" Rintaro said before hurrying to rejoin his place next to his wife.
SNAP
"Hold it!" Rintaro warned again as he walked back to the camera. "Good! Good! You guys did great!"
"Good, we can start bringing out the food!" Ukyo said. He carefully handed Kadia over to Wataru so he and Tomori could head to the kitchen. Mie also hurried with them.
"I wish I could help," Ema said.
"Don't sweat it, you have a heavy load to take care of," Azusa assured her.
"Here, let me get you back to the couch," Natsume said. He and Azusa helped Ema stand and lead her over where surprisingly, Sunako was preparing a pillow for her
"Thank you," Ema said as sat back down, "you look really pretty in that dress by the way."
"Yeah, I guess," Sunako said looking down at herself, "though not my favorite color."
"Yeah, it's a little weird seeing you in something like this, even I'll admit," Azusa said.
"But it was for a friend so, I don't see the problem," Sunako added.
"I wonder why Haruhi didn't ask her sister to be a part," said Ema.
"Well actually," Azusa said looking over at Haruhi's family trying to stand together. Her two grandmothers were once again glaring at each other, Dr. Kazuah and her father doing their best to keep them apart. Shima meanwhile was doing her best to keep her distance from everyone despite her dad's attempts to get her to join the group.
"Shima seems determined to be antisocial no matter what the situation," Azusa explained, "and that includes being in her own sister's wedding."
"We have a few who'd be like her," Natsume muttered.
"Like you?" Azusa said under his breath.
Natsume shot him a look but also smirked.
"I wasn't antisocial," he insisted.
"I was kinda like that in highschool, but not that extreme," Sunako said. "I wouldn't go out of my way to not be in a family picture, but I'd probably be standing off to the side as far as possible. Like, I wanted to be a kinda emo personality but at the same time, I did try and be a little sociable, at least for my parents' sake."
"I went through a slight emo phase myself. It was Tsubaki getting me into voice acting that sort pulled me out of it," Azusa said.
"I wonder if Dad hadn't married mother, if I might have turned out that way myself," Ema said.
"Nah," Natsume and Azusa both said.
"There's no way a girl like you would develop a personality like that," Natsume insisted, giving her a kiss.
"You don't know that," Sunako said smug. She pulled her phone and showed everyone a picture.
"This was me my freshman year of high school."
"Wow," Ema said looking at the young girl who looked like almost any other high school girl, with a perky smile and lighter shade of hair. The only thing recognizable was her eyes and smile.
"You don't know when and how something snaps into someone to make them develop a certain persona," Sunako said.
"What was it that made you?" Ema asked sheepishly.
"Wrote a little love story about a boy I had a crush on. He was seeing another girl at the time and she found out about it. She stole my story and taunted me about it, and then ripped it up. Completely humiliated me in front of a lot of the other students. So in retaliation I wrote a more horror theme story with a character based on her and, well, I liked doing that. And it's been bringing me a sense of joy since."
"Wow, good to know you found an outlet for your aggression and made a success for it," Natsume said.
"Thank you," Sunako said.
"Here Ema, Mie and Ukyo told me to bring this for you," Subaru said as he joined his brothers and Sunako with a plate of food.
"Oh thank you, I was feeling a little hungry," Ema said.
Subaru nodded with a smile. "You guys can go serve up as well," he mentioned.
"Are they done with the pictures?" Natsume asked looking over at Haruhi's family. Surprisingly, they were still struggling to stand together.
Poor Haruhi and Tsubaki looked board.
"At this point we should just take pictures of each person individually and photo shop them in together," Keitorin was herd mentioning as she stood nearby watching as well.
"If it takes another hour, we will!" Haruhi declared.
"Christ, I bet we could do a big photo of just us brothers and or just the bridal party before these people managed to get together long enough for their picture," Futo mentioned.
"What's that supposed to mean!" Dr. Isao's mother snapped.
"It means that you people are either too stupid or too arrogant to learn how to put your petty differences aside for a short while to take one damn photo," Futo declared bluntly.
"Futo be nice!" Miwa warned.
"Now see here young man!" Dr. Kazuah's mother started to scold as she approached Futo. Futo didn't look the least bit intimidated. If anything he looked annoyed.
However before he could get lectured by the woman, Yusuke surprised everyone by blowing his police whistle.
"Okay! That's enough! You are not here to try and make yourselves feel superior to others in some way. You are here for Tsubaki and Haruhi! Now here's what we're going to do! Dr. Kazuah, you and your parents stand next to Tsubaki! Dr. Isao, you, your other daughter and mother, stand on Haruhi's side! You will stand there for at least 8-10 minutes while my stepdad takes your pictures! Any arguments and I start handcuffing people! Understand!"
Everyone awkwardly did as they were told.
"Way to go Yusuke!" Tsubaki cheered as he and Haruhi took their position in the center of the group.
"Perfect!" Rintaro said as he took a few pictures. "Those should work."
"Good, now then, I expect everyone to behave themselves for the remaining time they choose to stay here, eat some of the wedding feast and mingle among our family in our home!" Yusuke warned.
"Yes sir," the two grandmothers said as they went off in slightly different directions to the table while Shima slinked off to the couch.
"Thank you, Yusuke, for helping to take control of the matter," Dr. Kazuah said.
"I've had to deal with similar situations before," Yusuke admitted.
"That was pretty impressive the way you helped get things in order," Natsume said.
"I wonder if he can help do the same for you when your quads get bigger," Hikaru teased.
"Well maybe," Natsume actually agreed.
"For her kids? Nah, you won't be needing me for that," Yusuke said nodding at Ema with a smile.
"Really? You think so?" Ema asked.
"I have a feeling your kids will be some of the best kids ever," Yusuke assured her.
Ema blushed, "thank you."
"Yes, it is a safe assumption that Ema has the chance to raise herself a couple of little angels. They'll just inherit their mother's gentle side," Kaname insisted.
"Or do the opposite and be total devils," Tsubaki teased.
Ema looked a little alarmed by the notion.
"Okay, that's enough," Natsume said, "I know Ema and myself will do our best to raise our children properly. Anything else, will that also depend on what and how the outside world also affects them."
"Sorry Ema, I was only really teasing," Tsubaki said before leading Haruhi to the food table.
A few others from the group also headed that way.
Kaname was the only one still with Ema and Natsume.
"I suppose environment would also play a factor in how a child turns out, hmm?" he said, "has there been any new updates on your dream house?"
"Not for a while, I don't understand what the hold up is with the second couple that wanted to look at it," Natsume said.
"Hmm," Kaname said as he stroke his chin. "Well hopefully you'll hear soon."
"I should hope so, we'll need the space for our children," Natsume muttered.
"Well, you can still always move back in here if need be until you find that one special place to call home," Masaomi mentioned as he joined, holding a plate of food.
"We know, and we're keeping that option open just in case," Ema said.
Masaomi squeezed her hand. "we'll always have an opening for the two of you, or six if the case need be."
"Thanks Masa!" Ema said happily.
"Still, it would be nice for you to know if you got your home," Kaname said.
"Yes, it would," Natsume agreed, "especially if we need to start looking again and or make plans to come live here after the babies are born so we have the room."
"You just let us know if we have to, we can help setup a room for the babies and you, make your stay here comfortable," Masaomi promised.
"Thanks Masaomi," Natsume said. Ema could tell he felt a little relieved to have a backup in the worst case scenario.
"You should go get some food yourself Natsume," she encouraged.
"Yeah, sure," Natsume said as he and Kaname hurried off to the table.
Masaomi sat down next to her.
"How have you been since that night of your award show?" he asked.
"Been good, course I've also taken lots of the pain killers you brought me," Ema said.
Masaomi nodded, "Rika would get some bad cramps every now and then when she was pregnant. And I'm sure Tomori did too."
"Did what?" Rika asked as she sat down next to her husband.
"Have some bad pregnancy cramps," Masaomi said.
"Oh I remember mine! They suck!" Rika said, "can only imagine how yours must be feeling!"
Ema nodded, "luckily I do have these pain killers."
"Mmm, I almost had to inhale mine!" Rika said, "but Mizu's worth it, just like yours are."
"Thank you," Ema said.
The rest of the wedding reception went along happily.
Everyone enjoying their food and company.
Nearly everyone made an effort to come and spend time with Ema as she sat comfortably.
She noticed Hikaru and Kaname talking to each other often off to the side.
"I wonder what that's all about,' she'd wonder, only to be distracted by someone coming to talk to her.
Finally after a while, Ukyo rolled out a huge pink and yellow wedding cake with Tsubaki and Haruhi looking wedding topper.
"And it's time to cut the cake!" Ukyo said happily.
"Yay!" everyone said excited, especially the kids.
"Ready, my wife?" Tsubaki asked, as he handed her a knife.
Haruhi carefully cut a slice and managed to serve it into a plate. She then held out her fork for Tsubaki who took a long seductive bite.
He then took the plate and fork himself, and mimic Haruhi's actions. Haruhi used her tongue to lick the pice of cake off the fork.
Next they each picked up a glass of champagne.
"To our new lives together!" Tsubaki said.
"To your new lives together!" Everyone else mimic as they also raised their different glasses and waited for Tsubaki and Haruhi linked arms to take a drink from each other's cup.
Once everyone got sip from their glasses, Kaname and Hikaru walked around to the front of the group.
"As we much as we love to celebrate you two have decided to be shakled down," Kaname said, "we have an announcement to make ourselves in regards to Natsume and Ema."
"Us?" Natsume asked.
"Oh no, whatever it is, we shouldn't be stealing attention from Tsubaki and Haruhi on their wedding day!"
"Nah go ahead, we sort of stole attention on the night you announced you were pregnant," Tsubaki insisted.
"We were able to get in contact with your realtors about your home and, good news, it's yours!" Hikaru announced.
"Wait what?" Natsume asked.
"We got in contact with your realtors. They were having issues with the last couple wanting to buy the house. They kept stalling. Apparently that's a little trick some sellers into getting desperate to sell that they'll drop the price. What this couple didn't realize is that they had another customer they wanted to have the house instead. So now that they finally showed them the house, they've been officially been rejected and they were going to call you kids Monday to come in and sign the paperwork for the house!"
"Oh my God! Really!" Ema said. "Natsume, we got our home!"
"Yeah!" Natsume a little shaken, but happily shaken.
"Thank you Kaname and Hikaru."
"Of course," Hikaru said.
"We have our ways of getting things done, especially for family!" Kaname bragged.
Ema was a little surprised by Natsume suddenly giving her a hug.
"This is going to be the perfect home for our babies," he whispered.
"I know," Ema agreed happily.
