Eevees and Nathan
The Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy left Heahea City and soon arrived on Route 4.
"So, where's the next trial being held, Double D?" asked Eddy. Edd takes the Rotom Pokedex out of his backpack and turns on the map app.
"Okay, first we through Route 4 until we reach a town called Paniola Town." said Edd. "After that, we go through Paniola Ranch which is near Paniola City until we reach Route 5, then go through there until we reach Brooklet Hill, where the next trial is being held."
"Okay, let's go." said Eddy. As the group began walking through Route 4, Edd sees a light brown, puppy-like Pokemon walking out of some grass. Edd points the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Lillipup, the Puppy Pokemon. This Pokémon is popular with beginners because it's intelligent, obedient to its Trainer's commands, and easy to raise." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Intelligent. Sounds like my kind of Pokemon." said Edd. "I shall catch this Pokemon." He pulls a pokeball out of his pocket and throws it, releasing his Magnemite. "Magnemite, use Sonic Boom!" Magnemite spins and releases a large, white shockwave which hits the Lillipup. It responds by running at Magnemite and rams into it, but not doing much damage. "Fortunately for Magnemite, it's part steel type, and I'm assuming that move Lillipup just used was Tackle, so normal type moves like it won't do much against it."
"So normal type moves won't hurt my Lucario too much?" asked Jimmy.
"That is correct, Jimmy." said Edd. "Now to end this; Magnemite, use Thunder Shock!" Magnemite releases electricity from its magnets and it hits the Lillipup, making it fall over. Edd quickly takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Lillipup, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture.
"You did it, Double-D!" cheered Ed.
"Way to go!" cheered Sarah. Edd runs over to his new Lillipup's pokeball and picks it up.
"Success." said Edd. He then looks up his new Lillipup's information on the Rotom Pokedex. "This says my new Lillipup is a female, she knows Leer, Tackle, Odor Sleuth, Bite, Baby-Doll Eyes, and Helping Hand. She has the Vital Spirit ability which makes her immune to sleep-inducing moves." After that, Edd puts his new Lillipup's pokeball into his backpack.
"Everyone, look at this." said Sarah. The Eds and Jimmy run over to where Sarah is and saw she was looking at five brown, furry, quadrupedal Pokemon playing with each other. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokemon and points it at one of the Pokemon.
"Eevee, the Evolution Pokemon. Its genes are easily influenced by its surroundings. Even its face starts to look like that of its Trainer." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"And if I recall from my studies, Eevees have several evolved forms." said Edd. "If you touch an Eevee with a Fire Stone, it'll evolve into Flareon, if you touch one with a Water Stone, it will evolve into Vaporeaon, if you touch one with a Thunder Stone, it will evolve into a Jolteon, if it gains enough experience while being great friends with one during the day, it will evolve into an Espeon, during the night, it will evolve into an Umbreon, if it touches something called a Moss Rock, it will evolve into a Leafeon; if it touches an Icy Rock, it will evolve into a Glaceon; and there's always a chance it'll evolve into a Sylveon during the day also."
"That is so cool!" said Ed.
"Those Eevees look like they're close friends." said Jimmy. "I'd hate to seperate them."
"So, if we each catch one, they'll always be together." said Edd.
"Great idea, Double-D." said Sarah.
"Well let's go then." said Eddy. The group runs over to the Eevees and surround them. The Eevees glare at them. Ed pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Roggenrola, come on out!" said Ed, throwing Roggenrola's pokeball and releasing him. "Roggenrola, Rock Blast!" Roggenrola shoots a couple of rocks out of his hexagon, and they hit an Eevee, doing more damage thanks to the Hard Stone he's holding. The Eevee charges at Roggenrola. "Roggenrola, Harden!" Roggenrola glows white and shines, strengthening his defense right before the Eevee rams into him, but not doing much damage to Roggenrola due to rock type Pokemon being resistant to normal type moves and his increased defense. "Headbutt!" Roggenrola runs at Eevee and rams into it, knocking it to the ground. Ed takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Eevee, hitting it. It gets sucked into the pokeball. After it wiggled around a few times, it clicks, indicating Eevee's capture. "Yeah! I caught an Eevee!"
With Edd, he has his Spinarak out, facing another Eevee.
"Spinarak, use Constrict!" said Edd. Spinarak jumps at the Eevee, wraps her legs around it, and starts squeezing it, doing damage, and reducing its speed. The Eevee responds by ramming her. "Spinarak, use Absorb!" Spinarak hits Eevee with a green stream of energy that drains it of some of its stamina, which is used to heal herself. The Eevee quickly runs at Spinarak and slams into her. "Spinarak, use Infestation!" Small specks come out of Spinarak's body and covers the Eevee's body which then do damage to it. Edd quickly takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Eevee, hitting it, and sucks it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture. "Success! I have captured an Eevee."
With Eddy, he has his Noibat out, facing another Eevee.
"Okay, Noibat! Use Wing Attack!" said Eddy. Noibat flies at the Eevee and strikes it with one of her wings. The Eevee responds by ramming into her. "Use Supersonic!" Noibat releases a high-pitched soundwave which messes up the Eevee's senses, making it confused. Even then, Eevee was able to fight through it, and rams into Noibat with incredible speed. "Oh yeah? Noibat, use Bite!" Noibat flies at the Eevee and bites it. Eddy then quickly takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Eevee, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture. "Sweet! I caught an Eevee!"
Sarah has Chansey facing another Eevee. The Eevee charges at Chansey with incredible speed and rams her.
"Oh yeah?! Chansey, Echoed Voice!" said Sarah. Chansey releases soundwaves from her mouth and they hit Eevee. Eevee leaps at Chansey and hits her with one of its front paws. "Use Echoed Voice again!" Chansey releases an even stronger soundwave, and it hits Eevee, knocking it to the ground. Sarah takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Eevee, hitting it. It gets sucked into the pokeball and after wiggling around a few times, it clicks, indicating a successful capture. "Yay! I caught an Eevee."
With Jimmy, he has his Pikachu out, facing the last Eevee.
"Okay, Pikachu. Use Quick Attack!" said Jimmy. Pikachu runs at the Eevee at fast speed, and slams into it. The Eevee responds by running at Pikachu, also at fast speed, and rams into him. "Pikachu, use Electro Ball!" Pikachu creates a ball made of electricity, and launches it at the Eevee, hitting it, and knocking it to the ground. Jimmy quickly pulls an empty pokeball from his backpack, and throws it at the Eevee, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture. "Hooray! I caught an Eevee."
"Congratulations, everyone." said Edd. He looks up their new Eevees' information on the Rotom Pokemon. "Okay; Eddy, and Jimmy's Eevees are boys, while Ed's, mine, and Sarah's Eevees are girls. They all know Covet, Helping Hand, Growl, Tackle, Tail Whip, Sand Attack, Baby-Doll Eyes, and Quick Attack. Ed, Eddy, and Sarah; your Eevees have the Run Away ability which makes them leave a battle if they have only half their stamina remaining; while mine, and Jimmy's Eevees have the Adaptability ability, which makes moves that are of the same type as them a bit stronger than normal."
"Cool." said Ed. The group returns their Pokemon to their pokeballs and continue walking up Route 4. Jimmy was walking ahead of them when he suddenly stops.
"Why did you stop, Jimmy? Do you see a cute Pokemon?" asked Sarah. The group walks over to Jimmy and saw he was looking at two boys facing each other while each of them were holding a pokeball. One of the boys was Nathan from Iki Town.
"Hey, it's Nathan." said Sarah.
"Oh, it's you." the group hears someone saying to them. They turn to where the voice was coming from to see Sarah's rival, Nancy sitting on a low tree branch. Sarah growls at her. "So, what brings you here to Akala Island?"
"If you must know, we're here to do the trials here." replied Sarah.
"So, you completed the ones on Melemele Island?" asked Nancy.
"You bet I did!" said Sarah. Jimmy was looking at Nathan and the boy he was facing.
"Come out, Ekans!" said the boy, throwing a pokeball and releasing an Ekans.
"Let's go, Stufful!" said Nathan, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Stufful. "Use Leer!" Stufful looks at Ekans and its eyes glow blue, making the Ekans shudder and weakening its defense.
"Ekans, use Poison Sting!" said the boy. Ekans leaps up and releases glowing purple needles from its mouth, and they hit Stufful. Fortunately for Stufful, Poison Sting did not poison it.
"Stufful, Brutal Swing!" said Nathan. One of Stufful's front legs glows pink and it swings it at Ekans, hitting it across the face, doing a lot of damage to it due to its defense being weakened by Stufful's Leer and knocking it to the ground. Ekans struggles to get up.
"Ekans, use Wrap!" said the boy. Ekans wraps around Stufful and begins squeezing it.
"Stufful, Flail!" said Nathan. Stufful swings its front legs at Ekans, hitting it and knocking it out.
"No, Ekans!" exclaimed the boy.
"Looks like I win." said Nathan, smirking. The boy lowers his head and returns Ekans to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Ekans." said the boy. He gives Nathan pokedollars and walks away. Nathan reaches into his backpack and pulls out a Sitrus Berry.
"Not bad, Stufful." said Nathan, tossing the Sitrus Berry to Stufful who catches it with its mouth and eats it, healing its wounds. He returns Stufful to its pokeball and turns to where Nancy is and sees the Eds, Sarah, and especially Jimmy. "Oh, it's you."
"Hello, Nathan." said Jimmy without any enthusiasm.
"So did you see my battle?" asked Nathan, grinning.
"Yes, I did." replied Jimmy.
"So, you're still trying to enter the Junior's Division?" asked Nathan.
"Yes, I am, and if you must know, I completed the trials on Melemele Island and will do the same here." said Jimmy.
"Probably going to cheat like your girlfriend did against my sister back at the festival." said Nathan.
"Sarah didn't cheat, you take that back!" yelled Jimmy.
"Want to make me with a Pokemon battle?" asked Nathan.
"Yes, as a matter of fact, I would." said Jimmy.
"Let's go then." replied Nathan. Jimmy walked over to where Nathan's previous opponent stood. "We will have a two-on-two Pokemon battle."
"Sounds good to me." said Jimmy.
"Take him down, Jimmy!" exclaimed Sarah.
"You can do it, Jimmy!" said Edd. Jimmy and Nathan each pull a pokeball out of their pocket.
"Go!" said Nathan, throwing a pokeball and releasing Stufful.
"Go, Butterfree!" said Jimmy, throwing Butterfree's pokeball and releasing him. "Butterfree, use Gust!"
"Good thinking, Jimmy. Stufful's part fighting, so flying type moves will be very effective against it." said Edd. Butterfree flaps his wings and releases a strong gust of wind, hitting Stufful, knocking it to the ground, but it only did a moderate amount of damage to it. "Strange. That should've done more damage than that." An explosion of smoke appears around Stufful. When the smoke cleared, instead of Stufful, there was a dark gray, fox-like Pokemon with red paws in its place. "That's not Stufful." Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Zorua, the Tricky Fox Pokemon. If a normally talkative child suddenly stops talking, it may have been replaced by Zorua." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"How come that Pokemon looked like Stufful?" asked Jimmy.
"My Zorua has the Illusion ability, which make him take the appearance of another Pokemon on my team." said Nathan. "A useful ability to lure my opponent into a false sense of security."
"That would explain why Gust didn't do a lot of damage to it." said Edd.
"Even if Butterfree did use Gust on my actual Stufful, it wouldn't do a lot of damage to it anyway due to his Fluffy ability." said Nathan.
"What's that ability like?" asked Eddy.
"It halves damage done by attacks but doubles that done by fire type moves." replied Edd.
"Now Zorua, Feint Attack!" said Nathan. Zorua leaps at Butterfree and hits him with one of his paws.
"Use Silver Wind!" said Jimmy. Butterfree flaps his wings and releases a wind with silver crescents in it and they hit Zorua, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Good move, Jimmy. Zorua's a dark type, which are weak against bug type moves." said Edd.
"That Silver Wind looked so pretty." said Sarah. Zorua struggles to get up.
"Use Leer!" said Nathan. Zorua glares at Butterfree and his eyes glow blue, weakening Butterfree's defense.
"Tackle!" said Jimmy. Butterfree flies at Zorua and rams him, knocking him to the ground.
"Fury Swipes!" said Nathan. Zorua leaps at Butterfree and scratches him with his paws several times.
"Gust!" said Jimmy. Butterfree flaps his wings and releases a gust of wind that hits Zorua, knocking him to the ground with swirly eyes.
"No!" exclaimed Nathan.
"Way to go, Butterfree." said Jimmy. Butterfree flies around. Nathan returns Zorua to his pokeball and puts it in his pocket and pulls out another one.
"This time you'll be facing Stufful for real!" said Nathan, throwing Stufful's pokeball and releasing him.
"My Butterfree will beat your Stufful." said Jimmy. Nathan smirks and holds up his right arm, revealing a Z-ring with a Normalium Z in it, surprising Jimmy. "You have a Z-Ring?!"
"You better believe I do." said Nathan. Nathan starts doing the pose taught by Captain Ilima to generate Z-Energy which transfers to Stufful and the Z-Power symbol appears in front of him and he begins surging with energy. "Stufful, Breakneck Blitz!" said Nathan. Stufful charges at Butterfree and slams into him with incredible force, doing a massive amount of damage due to his defense being weakened by Zorua's Leer attack. Butterfree falls to the ground, unconcsious.
"Butterfree!" exclaimed Jimmy.
"Way to go, brother!" cheered Nancy, making Sarah glare at her.
"Hang in there, Jimmy." said Edd. Jimmy returns Butterfree to his pokeball.
"You were great, Butterfree." said Jimmy. He then puts Butterfree's pokeball back into his backpack.
"So, what are you going to do now?" Nathan smugly asked. "Come on! Give me your best shot!" Jimmy glares at Nathan as he pulls another pokeball out of his backpack.
"My best shot?" Jimmy says to Nathan. "Well, you asked for it." He tosses his pokeball, releasing his Lucario, surprising Nathan.
"Where did you get a Lucario?!" asked Nathan.
"Long story." said Jimmy as he lifts his arm, showing his Z-Ring to Nathan. In it was his Fightinium Z-Crystal that he recieved from Kahuna Hala.
"You have a Fightinium Z?!" asked Nathan.
"I wouldn't have one if I didn't pass the Melemele Island Grand Trial." said Jimmy. He then starts doing multiple punches, generating Z-Energy, which is then transferred into Lucario, making the Z-Power symbol appear in front of him.
"Get him, Jimmy!" said Sarah. Jimmy nods in response.
"Lucario! Use All-Out Pummeling!" said Jimmy. Lucario starts punching rapidly, releasing orange, fist-shaped, masses of energy at Nathan's Stufful, each hit doing super effective damage due to Stufful being part normal which are weak against fighting type moves. He then dashes at Stufful and punches him hard enough to send him flying past Nathan, and into a tree, knocking him out.
"No!" said Nathan.
"Jimmy wins! Jimmy wins!" cheered Ed.
"Congratulations, Jimmy!" said Edd.
"That was super sweet!" said Eddy.
"You were amazing, Jimmy!" said Sarah. Jimmy smiles at the praise he was getting. Nathan returns his Stufful to his pokeball.
"You cheated using that Z-Ring!" exclaimed Nathan.
"Hey, you used a Z-ring too and you don't hear Jimmy calling you a cheater!" exclaimed Sarah.
"This isn't over!" said Nathan as he tosses pokedollars at Jimmy's feet. "We'll settle this at the Alola League Junior Division!" He turns towards Nancy. "Let's go, sis." Nancy jumps off the tree branch she was on, and she and Nathan run off.
"And I'll be ready when we do!" Jimmy shouts out. He looks at Lucario and smiles. "You were awesome, Lucario." Lucario smiles and nods. After Jimmy returns Lucario to his pokeball and picks up his pokedollars, he walks over to the Eds and Sarah.
"Don't listen to that dummy, Jimmy." said Sarah. "You beat him fair and square."
"Thanks, Sarah." said Jimmy.
"Shall we continue on our way, everyone?" asked Edd.
"Yeah!" said Ed.
"We got more trials to do." said Eddy.
"Let's get going." said Sarah. With that, everyone continues on their way to Paniola Town.
