Brooklet Hill Trial (Part One)
The Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy exit the Pokemon Center and start going down a nearby path until they reach a river that had a bridge spanning it. Once they cross it, they see a girl with blue hair, wearing a gold hairband, white, sleeveless top over a dark navy-blue top, along with blue pants that had a wave design on the cuffs of them, and black sandals. The girl notices them and walks over.
"Hello, I'm Lana." said the girl now known as Lana. "I serve as the captain of Brooklet Hill."
"Hi, I'm Jimmy." said Jimmy.
"I'm Sarah." said Sarah.
"I am Ed." said Ed.
"I'm Edd also, but with two Ds, so everyone calls me Double-D so as not to confuse me with my friend here." said Edd.
"And I'm Eddy." said Eddy.
"Are you all here to attempt the Brooklet Hill trial?" asked Lana.
"We sure are!" said Eddy.
"Who will be going first?" asked Lana. Sarah quickly steps forward.
"I'll do it!" said Sarah.
"Very well. Allow me to explain the trial to you all." said Lana. "You all must herd the Pokemon found in the small bodies of water on Brooklet Hill downstream to draw out the Totem Pokemon. Once you do, you must defeat it. Once you do, you'll have passed the trial, and earn the Waterium-Z Crystal."
"That sounds easy." said Sarah.
"Just so you know, the Pokemon I want you to herd are Wishiwashi." said Lana.
"Wishiwashi?" replied Sarah. Edd takes out his Rotom Dex and tries to find information on the Pokemon. He soon comes across an entry of a small, white, fish-like Pokemon.
"I believe this is the Pokemon that Lana wants us to herd." said Edd as he shows everyone the picture. He then hands the Rotom Dex to Sarah. "Perhaps you can gain more data on it when you find one."
"Okay, Double-D." said Sarah.
"By the way, do any of you have a Ride Pager?" asked Lana.
"Yes, we do." said Ed as he pulls theirs out of his pocket.
"I'll add a new Pokemon you can call to it." said Lana as she takes the Ride Pager and adds new data to it. "I added the Pokemon called Lapras to your Ride Pager. It can carry you across bodies of water so you don't have to swim while doing the trial."
"Cool!" said Ed. Lana gives Sarah the Ride Pager and turns towards the path behind her.
"Right this way, please." said Lana. Sarah starts to follow her up the hill.
"Do your best, baby sister!" said Ed.
"We believe in you!" said Edd.
"Thanks, guys!" said Sarah. She heads up the hill with Lana until they reach a small pond. Lana looks at Sarah.
"Do you see those small splashes?" asked Lana. Sarah looks at the pond and sees something splashing about in parts of it.
"Yeah?" replied Sarah.
"I'm thinking that one of those can be a Wishiwashi." said Lana. "You must battle it in order to drive it downstream."
"Okay." said Sarah.
"And so you know, until you and your friends complete the trial, you're not allowed to catch any Pokemon here." said Lana.
"That's fine." said Sarah. She takes out the Ride Pager and uses it to summon a large, blue Pokemon with a long neck, small horn-like protrusion on its head, and a gray shell on its back that had a red chair mounted on it. She takes out the Rotom Dex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Lapras, the Transport Pokemon. They've been so cherished that there's now an overabundance. The fish Pokémon population has declined in waters with too many Lapras." said the Rotom Dex.
"Wow!" said Sarah. The Lapras moves over to Sarah and nods towards its back. Seeing that it wants her to get on, she gets onto its shell, and they start swimming towards one of the splashes. When she gets to it, she sees a dark gray, spider-like Pokemon with green legs, and a bubble over its head. Sarah takes out the Rotom Dex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Dewpider, the Water Bubble Pokemon. It can only breathe oxygen that has dissolved in water, so it wears a water bubble on its head when it walks around on land." said the Rotom Dex.
"Not what I'm looking for, but a warm-up for my Pokemon wouldn't be a bad idea." said Sarah. She takes out her Chansey's pokeball and releases her from it. "Okay, Chansey! Use Take Down!" Chansey leaps at the Dewpider and slams head-first into it. Chansey rubs her head due to the recoil damage. "Are you okay, Chansey?" Chansey smiles and nods. The Dewpider responds by biting down on Chansey. "Oh, yeah? Chansey, use Pound!" Chansey swings her arm down onto the Dewpider's head, knocking it into the water, unconscious. "You did it, Chansey!" Chansey nods, then freezes up. "Chansey? Are you okay?" Chansey starts to glow, and Sarah realized what was happening. She watched as Chansey started to evolve before her eyes. When she stopped glowing, the flaps on her head were now curly, her upper torso and feet were a darker shade of pink, on her shoulders were white, winglike growths, and the lower half of her body was pure white and had feather-like growths coming from her waist. Sarah could only stare at her Chansey as she pulls out the Rotom Dex and points it at her newly evolved Chansey.
"Blissey, the Happiness Pokemon, and the final form of Happiny. This Pokémon is overflowing with love. Only Chansey that share a strong bond with their Trainer can evolve, so people say." said the Rotom Dex.
"You're so beautiful." said Sarah as tears formed in her eyes. Blissey walks over to Sarah and gently hugs her. A minute later, they seperate. They stare at each other for a few seconds before Sarah decides to continue the trial. She returns her new Blissey to her pokeball and they continue the trial. She goes to where some more splashing was going on and checks it out. When she gets to it, she sees the fish Pokemon that Edd showed her before. She takes out the Rotom Dex to learn more about it.
"Wishiwashi, the Small Fry Pokemon. When it's in a jam, its shining eyes attract others of its kind. The light from its eyes is visible almost 25 miles away." said the Rotom Dex. Sarah takes out her Ledian's pokeball and releases her from it.
"Okay, Ledian! Use Mach Punch!" said Sarah. Ledian moves towards the Wishiwashi at fast speed and punches it, knocking it out. It soon wakes up and starts swimming downstream with other Wishiwashies following after it.
"Good work!" said Lana. "Keep it up!" Sarah follows after the Wishiwashies down to the next small pond and repeats the process. She does this a third time before they reach the bottom of the hill and arrive at a lagoon. After Sarah gets there, Lana arrives, and they see some more splashing in the water.
"It seems that you succeeded in driving out the Totem Pokemon." said Lana. "Now all you have to do is defeat it in battle to pass the trial."
"Bring it on!" said Sarah as she calls for Lapras, climbs onto it, and has it swim towards the splashing. When they reach it, a large Pokemon that looked similar to the Dewpider they saw before, but with longer legs, and an extra segement on its body bursts out of the water. Sarah takes out the Rotom Dex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Araquanid, the Water Bubble Pokemon, and the evolved form of Dewpider. It has a habit of storing things it values in its water bubble. If its Trainer doesn't watch out, Araquanid will try to put them in its bubble!" said the Rotom Dex. Sarah pulls out Mrs. Mime's pokeball and releases her from it.
"Mrs. Mime! Use Reflect!" said Sarah. Mrs. Mime quickly creates a pane of transparent energy in front of her. The Araquanid lunges at Mrs. Mime and bites at her. Fortunately, Reflect blocks some of the bites power, preventing Mrs. Mime from taking a lot of damage. "Now use Double Slap!" Mrs. Mime jumps at the Araquanid and starts slapping it, repeatedly. Araquanid responds by firing a beam of multicolored energy at her. "Hurry, Mrs. Mime, use Light Screen!" Mrs. Mime quickly creates a wall of light which blocks some of the beam's power. "Now use Psywave!" Mrs Mime makes circular motions with her hands, creating waves of energy which hit Araquanid and damages it. Araquanid then fires a beam made of bubbles at Mrs. Mime, hitting her. "You can do it, Mrs. Mime! Use Confusion!" Mrs. Mime's eyes glowed blue and a blue aura forms around the Araquanid, doing damage to it. The Araquanid starts to stumble around a bit. It then tries to bite Mrs. Mime, but it rams into a cliff wall instead, knocking itself out in the process. Sarah stares at the Araquanid until she realized that it was unconscious. "We did it!" She then runs to Mrs. Mime and hugs her.
"Congratulations, Sarah!" said Lana. Sarah rides Lapras back to the shore and hops down onto it. The Rotom Dex suddenly chimes, and Sarah looks at it.
"My Mrs. Mime just learned Psybeam!" said Sarah.
"Good for you." said Lana. "You have successfully defeated the Totem Pokemon." She then pulls out a blue Z-Crystal that had a waterdrop-like emblem inside it. "Take this Waterium-Z Crystal as proof of your accomplishment." Sarah takes the Waterium-Z and holds it up.
"Check it out! I got a Waterium-Z Crystal!" said Sarah.
"Let me show you the poses you must do to activate it." said Lana. She does wavy motions with her arms to her left, and then to her right.
"That looks easy enough to remember." said Sarah.
"And here's another token for completing the trial." said Lana. She goes over to a log that had some fishing rods on it and grabs one. "This is one of my homemade fishing rods. It's very good at helping catch water type Pokemon." She then gives it to Sarah.
"Thanks. Maybe I can find a water Pokemon for my team." said Sarah.
"And you need a Pokemon that knows water moves in order to use Waterium-Z, as well." said Lana.
"Then I should start looking as soon as I can." said Sarah. They both make their way back to where the Eds and Jimmy were waiting. When they reach them, they rushed over.
"So how did it go?" asked Edd. Sarah responds by pulling out her Waterium-Z Crystal.
"Cool!" said Ed.
"Congratulations, Sarah!" said Edd.
"Sweet!" said Eddy.
"Good work, Sarah." said Jimmy. He then walks to Lana. "I'll face the trial next."
"Very well." replied Lana. Sarah walks over to Jimmy and gives him the Ride Pager. After that, Lana and Jimmy walk down the path until they reached the small pond. Jimmy summons the Ride Lapras and climbs onto it. Jimmy goes to where some splashing was occuring and a Wishiwashi comes out of it. Jimmy pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Go, Pikachu!" said Jimmy, thowing Pikachu's pokeball and releasing him. "Use Thunder Shock!" Pikachu releases electricity from his body and it hits Wishiwashi, knocking it out. It then recovers and swims downstream. Jimmy returns Pikachu to his pokeball and he rides Lapras downstream where he reaches the next pond and repeats what he did in the previous pond. Soon Jimmy was face to face with the Totem Araquanid. "Go, Pikachu!" He throws Pikachu's pokeball and releases him. Araquanid flares with an aura. "What's going on with that Pokemon?" Araquanid quickly lunges at Pikachu and bites him, knocking him back, but he stayed on his feet." The Totem Araquanid suddenly shudders and becomes surrounded by electricity. "Yay! Static paralyzed it. Pikachu, let's try your new Electro Ball!" Pikachu forms a ball of electricity on his tail, and he launches it at Araquanid, hitting it and dealing super effective damage to it, knocking the Araquanid back. Araquanid fights through its paralysis and fires a multicolored beam of energy at Pikachu, hitting him. "Use Quick Attack!" Pikachu charges at Araquanid with incredible speed and rams it in its face. The Totem Araquanid collapses into the water, unconscious. "We did it, Pikachu!"
"Pika!" cheered Pikachu. Jimmy rides Lapras to the shore of the pond and climbs off it. Lana walks over to Jimmy.
"Very impressive, Jimmy." said Lana. She pulls a Waterium Z crystal out of her pocket and gives it to Jimmy. This Waterium Z is proof of your victory here." She then grabs another fishing rod and gives it to Jimmy. "Take this fishing rod, too. This will help you catch water Pokemon. Like I told your friend, Sarah, you'll need a Pokemon that knows a water type move in order to use Waterium Z."
"Thanks, Lana." said Jimmy. They soon returned to where the Eds and Sarah were waiting. Jimmy shows them his Waterium Z.
"Great work, Jimmy." said Ed.
"I knew you can do it." said Sarah. Lana looks at the Eds.
"So which one of you will be challenging the trial next?" asked Lana. Ed steps forwards.
"I'll do it!" said Ed. Lana nods in response. After Jimmy gives Ed the Ride Pager, he and Lana walks up the path. Sarah and Jimmy have earned their Waterium Z crystals, now Ed will try to do the same.
