Brooklet Hill Trial (Part Two)
Ed and Lana continue walking down the path in Brooklet Hill until they arrived at the pond where Sarah and Jimmy started their trial.
"Okay, Ed. Do you see those splashes in this pond?" said Lana, pointing at splashing going on in the pond.
"Yep." replied Ed.
"One of those might be a Wishiwashi." said Lana. "You must battle it and drive it downstream."
"Okay." said Ed.
"And remember, you're not allowed to catch any Pokemon here until you complete the trial." said Lana.
"I'll try to remember that." said Ed. Lana nods in approval. Ed uses the Ride Pager to summon Lapras and he climbs onto it. He rides Lapras to where the splashing was. A Dewpider comes out of it. Ed pulls a pokeball out of his pocket. "Go, Mareep!" He throws Mareep's pokeball and releases her. The Dewpider lunges at Mareep and bites her, hurting her. Dewpider suddenly shudders and becomes surrounded by electricity. "I think Mareep's Static ability activated. Okay, Mareep, Thunder Shock!" Mareep releases electricty from her body and it hits Dewpider, dealing super effective damage to it. Dewpider tries to attack, but its paralysis stops it. "Tackle!" Mareep charges at Dewpider and rams it, knocking it into the water unconscious. "Great work, Mareep." Ed then rides Lapras to where another splashing was taking place and finds a Wishiwashi. Wishiwashi lets out a cry, emitting soundwaves onto Mareep, making her slump. "Use Thunder Shock!" Mareep releases electricity from her body and it hits Wishiwashi, dealing super effective damage to it and knocking it out. Once it regained consciousness, it swims downstream to the next pond and Ed pursues it. He encountered another Dewpider, but Ed's Mareep defeated it. He then finds Wishiwashi and defeats it with Mareep. Wishiwashi swims downstream to another pond. Unbeknownst to Ed, because of the battles Mareep had, she learned Charge. Seeing that Mareep looked exhausted, Ed returns Mareep to her pokeball so she can rest. Ed soon arrives at the lagoon where the Totem Pokemon is located where Lana was waiting. She and Ed look at the lagoon where they see splashing.
"Good work, Ed. It seems you have drawn out the Totem Pokemon." said Lana. "Now all you have to do is defeat it and you will have passed the trial."
"Oh boy!" said Ed. He summons Lapras with the Ride Pager and rides it to where the splashing was. When Ed got there, Araquanid emerges from the water. Ed pulls a pokeball out of his pocket. "Go, Roggenrola!" He throws Roggenrola's pokeball and releases him. Araquanid begins flaring with an aura, which increases its speed. It lunges at Roggenrola. "Roggenrola, Iron Defense!" Roggenrola becomes surrounded by a white light and his body shines, greatly increasing his defense right before Araquanid bites onto him. Roggenrola slumps a little, but begins surging with energy, due to Roggenrola's Weak Armor ability weakening his defense a little but increasing his speed greatly. "Use Smackdown!" Roggenrola forms a golden ball of energy in its hexagon, and he launches it at Araquanid, dealing massive damage to it due to rock type moves being strong against bug type Pokemon and Hard Stone powering up Roggenrola's rock type moves. Araquanid struggles to stay on its legs and releases bubbles from its mouth and they hit Roggenrola, dealing super effective damage to him. "Rock Blast!" Roggenrola shoots rocks from its hexagon and they hit Araquanid, dealing super effective damage and knocking it out. "You did it, Roggenrola!" Roggenrola jumps up and down, but suddenly freezes and begins to glow. "Cool, you're evolving!" Roggenrola begins to change shape. When he stopped glowing, Roggenrola was now bigger with orange crystals sticking out of his body, he had three large rocks with a red crystal on each end of them for limbs, and he had two yellow hexagons for eyes instead of one. "You look so cool!" Ed rides Lapras to the shore of the lagoon and jumps onto it. Lana walks over to Ed.
"Congratulations, Ed." said Lana. She reaches into her pocket and pulls a Waterium-Z crystal out of it. "For passing your trial, you have earned the Waterium-Z." She gives Ed the Waterium-Z. She shows Ed the poses on how to activate Waterium-Z. She also gives Ed a fishing rod.
"Thanks, Lana." said Ed. Lana nods in response. They soon returned to where Edd, Eddy, Sarah, and Jimmy were waiting.
"So how did you do, Ed?" asked Edd. Ed pulls the Waterium-Z out of his pocket and shows it to them. "Congratulations, Ed."
"Way to go, lumpy." said Eddy. Ed pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"And check this out, guys." said Ed. He throws the pokeball and releases his newly evolved Roggenrola. "My Roggenrola evolved." Edd takes the Rotom Pokedex out of his backpack and points it at the newly evolved Roggenrola.
"Boldore, the Ore Pokemon and the evolved form of Roggenrola. Its orange crystals are lumps of powerful energy. They're valuable, so Boldore is sometimes targeted for them." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Congratulation, Ed." said Edd. "And according to this, your Mareep learned Charge."
"Oh boy!" said Ed. Edd then walks over to Lana.
"I believe I will take the trial next, Lana." said Edd.
"Very well." said Lana. After Ed gives Edd the Ride Pager, he and Lana walk down the path to where the trial will take place. Edd then uses the Ride Pager to summon Lapras and climbs onto its back. He then has it swim towards some of the splashing in the pond he was at. When he reaches it, a Dewpider pops out and leaps at Edd, making him narrowly dodge it.
"Well, that was rude." said Edd as he releases his Magnemite from its pokeball. "Magnemite, use Spark!" Magnemite's body becomes coated in electricity, and it rams the Dewpider, doing super effective damage, and knocking it out. Edd continues to investigate the pond until he finally finds a Wishiwashi. Edd has Magnemite use Spark on it, knocking it out, and forcing it downstream once it regained consciousness.
"Well done, Double-D." said Lana as she watches the Wishiwashi swim to another pond. Edd goes to it and repeats the process until he finally reaches the lagoon at the bottom of Brooklet Hill. He then rides Lapras out onto it until the Totem Araquanid erupts from the water.
"Perhaps I will use Trumbeak on this one." said Edd. He pulls out Trumbeak's pokeball and releases him from it. "Trumbeak, use Pluck!" Trumbeak flies at the Araquanid and jabs his beak into it, doing super effective damage. Araquanid responds by firing a beam of multicolored energy from its eyes, hitting Trumbeak, doing super effective damage. "That must've been Aurora Beam!" He looks at his Z-Power Ring and decides that now would be a good time to try out his Flyinium-Z Crystal. He takes it out of his pocket and inserts it. He then does the series of poses the woman at Ten Carat Hill showed him, making energy flow from him and into Trumbeak, making the Z-Power symbol appear in front of him. "Trumbeak! Use Supersonic Skystrike!" Trumbeak rockets into the air and with incredible speed. Once he gets far up enough into the sky, he plummets down towards Araquanid and slams into it so hard that the force of the attack causing a massive plume of water to shoot up from the lagoon, causing the water to be very choppy. Edd struggles to keep his balance on Lapras. When the water calmed, Edd sees that the Araquanid was knocked out.
"You've done it." said Lana. Edd rides Lapras back to the shore and he hops off it. Lana then walks over to him. "Because you defeated the Totem Pokemon, you've passed the trial."
"Splendid." said Edd. Lana reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Waterium-Z Crystal, along with some pokedollars.
"I am proud to present you with this Waterium-Z Crystal." said Lana as she hands it, along with the pokedollars to Edd. She then goes over to a log where some fishing rods were and grabs one. "And here's a fishing rod for you, as well. It can help catch water Pokemon in bodies of water.
"Thank you, Lana." said Edd. Lana shows Edd the poses required to activate the Z-Crystal. After that, they return to where the others were waiting.
"How did it go, Double-D?" asked Eddy. Edd smiles as he pulls his Waterium-Z Crystal from his pocket.
"Double-D did it!" said Ed as he hugs Edd.
"Way to go!" said Sarah.
"I'm happy for you." said Jimmy. Eddy then steps forward.
"Looks like it's my turn." said Eddy.
"Very well." said Lana. Edd hands Eddy the Ride Pager and he and Lana head to the trial area. When they get there, Eddy uses the Ride Pager to call Lapras and hops onto its back. He rides to some splashing and encounters a Wishiwashi. He throws Charjbug's pokeball and releases him from it.
"Okay, Charjbug! Use Spark!" said Eddy. Charjbug's body becomes coated in electricity, and he charges at the Wishiwashi, hitting it, doing super effective damage, and knocks it out. After it regains consciousness, it, along with some other Wishiwashis swim downstream. Eddy chases them to the next area and repeats the process, also battling some Dewpiders he came across. He soon reaches the lagoon at the bottom of Brooklet Hill, where he uses Lapras to swim to a large amount of splashing that was occuring. Whe he gets to it, the Totem Araquanid erupts from the water and stares Eddy down.
"You must defeat the Araquanid to pass the trial." said Lana.
"Piece of cake." said Eddy. He releases his Charjbug from his pokeball. "Charjbug, use Charge!" Charjbug begins channeling energy through his body, increasing his special defense as he does. Araquanid swims at Charjbug and bites down on him. "Oh yeah?! Charjbug, use Spark!" Charjbug hits Araquanid with a Spark attack that was powered up by Charge. Eddy notices that the Araquanid suddenly munching on something that seemed to ease some of the damage.
"That Araquanid sometimes has a Wacan Berry." said Lana.
"What does that do?" asked Eddy.
"It weakens any electric attack that would be super effective against it." said Lana.
"Well, at least it used it up." said Eddy. "Now it can't do it again." Araquanid suddenly became coated in static electricity.
"It seems that Charjbug's Spark has paralyzed Araquanid." said Lana. Araquanid tried to move at Charjbug, but paralysis kicks in, stopping it in its tracks.
"Now to finish this." said Eddy. "Charjbug, use one more Spark!" Charjbug hits Araquanid with one more Spark attack; this time knocking it out. "I did it!" He then returns Charjbug to his pokeball and heads back to the shore where Lana was waiting.
"Congratulations, Eddy." said Lana. "You have passed the trial."
"Was there ever any doubt?" asked Eddy. Lana reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Waterium-Z Crystal, along with some pokedollars. She also grabs another fishing rod from where she kept the others.
"I present you with this Waterium-Z Crystal, along with this fishing rod that can be used to help catch water Pokemon." said Lana as she hands Eddy the items and pokedollars.
"Sweet! I have a Waterium-Z Crystal!" said Eddy. After Lana shows Eddy, the poses needed to activate the Waterium Z-Crystal, they both head back to where everyone else was waiting.
"How did you do, Eddy?" asked Ed. Eddy smiles as he pulls the Waterium-Z Crystal out of his pocket.
"This answer your question?" asked Eddy.
"Congratulations, Eddy." said Edd. Lana walks over to them.
"And now that you've completed your trials here, you are free to capture Pokemon here." said Lana. She reaches into her pockets and pulls out ten Dive Balls.
"Dive Balls." said Edd.
"Yes. For Pokemon to use the Z-Move of Waterium-Z, Hydro Vortex, you'll need a Pokemon that knows a water type move. Dive Balls can be useful in catching some." said Lana. "There should be plenty of water Pokemon here in Brooklet Hill. By the way, have you ever been to Seaward Cave in Melemele Island?"
"I do recall a cave near Melemele Meadow." said Edd.
"You could probably find some water Pokemon there also." said Lana. She gives each member of the group two Dive Balls.
"We'll get started on finding water Pokemon as soon as we get our Pokemon treated." said Edd.
"Very well." said Lana. They all then head back to the Pokemon Center to get their Pokemon treated and grab some lunch.
