Santalune Forest
After getting their Pokemon healed in Aquacorde Town, Kevin, Jonny, and Rolf, along with Plank leave town.
"So we're off to Santalune City?" asked Jonny.
"Yeah. That's where Professor Sycamore said there was one of those Pokemon Gyms the Eds told us about." said Kevin.
"You think we'll find more Pokemon in the forest?" asked Jonny.
"I hope so." said Kevin. He puts the map back in his backpack and puts it on. "Come on, let's go." They travel up Route 2 towards Santalune Forest. As they approached it, a boy standing near it walks over to them.
"Excuse me, but are any on you Pokemon trainers?" asked the boy.
"Yeah, why?" asked Kevin. The boy pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Would one of you like to have a one on one Pokemon battle with me?" asked the boy.
"Sure." said Jonny, stepping forward. Kevin turns toward Rolf.
"This is great, Rolf." said Kevin. "The Eds told us how we can win half the money of other trainers we beat in Pokemon battles."
"Yes. Rolf recalls the Ed boys mentioning that." said Rolf. Jonny and the boy were standing several feet from each other, facing each other.
"Go, Zigzagoon!" said the boy, throwing his pokeball and releasing a Zigzagoon. Jonny pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Go, Chespin!" said Jonny, throwing Chespin's pokeball and releasing him. "Chespin, use Growl!" Chespin opens his mouth and emits a cry, releasing a soundwave onto Zigzagoon and weakens its attack strength.
"Oh yeah?! Zigzagoon, Tail Whip!" said the boy. Zigzagoon leaps at Chespin and wags its tail onto him, weakening his defense.
"Chespin, let's try your new Rollout attack!" said Jonny. Chespin curls into a ball and rolls towards Zigzagoon and hits it, knocking it back.
"Zigzagoon, Tackle!" said the boy. Zigzagoon runs at Chespin and rams him. Chespin rolls towards Zigzagoon again and hit it again, but harder then before.
"What's the deal? Jonny didn't tell Chespin to use Rollout." said Kevin.
"When a Pokemon uses Rollout, it will keep using it." said Jonny. "On the plus side, each Rollout becomes stronger than the previous one."
"Awesome." said Kevin. The second Rollout proved too much for Zigzagoon and it falls to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Zigzagoon, no!" said the boy.
"We win, Chespin!" cheered Jonny.
"Ches!" cheered Chespin, raising his arms. The boy returns Zigzagoon to its pokeball.
"You did good, Zigzagoon." said the boy. He puts his Zigzagoon's pokeball in his pocket and then walks over to Jonny. "Your Chespin is tough."
"Thanks." replied Jonny. The boy gives Jonny half his pokedollars.
"Guess I have a long way before I become just as good as the Eds." said the boy.
"You know about the Eds?" asked Kevin.
"Who doesn't know about them?" asked the boy. He reaches into his back pocket and pulls out what appeared to be trading cards with the Eds on them and shows them to Kevin, Rolf, and Jonny. They look at the trading cards with astonished looks on their faces.
'Those dorks have trading cards of them, too?' Kevin asked himself.
"Do you have any Ed trading cards?" asked the boy.
"No, we don't." said Kevin.
"Oh. Well, I better take my Zigzagoon to Aquacorde Town to get him healed. Bye." said the boy as he puts the trading cards in his pocket and walks away.
"Come on, guys, let's get going." said Kevin.
"Okay, Kevin." said Jonny. He returns Chespin to his pokeball and they enter Santalune Forest. They enter the forest and look around. As Rolf looks around, he looks up to see a yellow, larval Pokemon with a red nose, and a stinger on its head and another on the end of its body.
"What is this Pokemon?" asked Rolf. Jonny takes out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Weedle, the Hairy Pokemon. Its poison stinger is very powerful. Its bright-colored body is intended to warn off its enemies." said the pokedex.
"Rolf will capture this Pokemon." said Rolf.
"But why is it called the 'Hairy Pokemon'?" asked Jonny.
"Yes. Rolf sees no hair on this Pokemon." said Rolf. He then takes his shirt off, showing his long back hair. "Now this is hairy!" Kevin looked like he was going to throw up.
"Dude. Put your shirt back on and capture that Pokemon before it gets away." said Kevin. Rolf does so and pulls out a pokeball.
"Pidgey. Rolf needs you!" said Rolf as he throws his Pidgey's pokeball and releases her from it. Weedle stands ready to battle. "Pidgey, use Sand Attack!" Pidgey digs her wings into the ground and flings sand into Weedle's eyes, blinding it and lowering its accuracy. Weedle launches itself forward with the stinger on its head pointing towards Pidgey, but it flies past her and tumbles across the ground.
"Nice one, Rolf." said Jonny.
"Yes. Now, Pidgey; use Tackle!" said Rolf. Pidgey flies at Weedle and slams into it. Seeing that it was struggling to get up, Rolf takes an empty pokeball from his pocket and throws it at the Weedle, hitting it and sucking it in. After a few seconds, the pokeball clicks, indicating a successful capture.
"You did it, Rolf!" said Jonny. Rolf runs over and picks up his new Weedle's pokeball.
"Rolf has caught a Weedle!" said Rolf as he holds Weedle's pokeball up in triumph.
"Way to go, Rolfie Boy!" said Kevin. Jonny looks at the pokedex to see Weedle's information.
"This says your Weedle's a girl, she knows Poison Sting, and String Shot; and she has the Shield Dust ability like my Caterpie did before she evolved." said Jonny.
"Very good." said Rolf.
"All right, guys. Let's get going." said Kevin. They continue to walk through the forest with Rolf taking the time to train his new Weedle as well as his other Pokemon along with Kevin and Jonny. While Rolf trained his Weedle, she suddenly froze up.
"Weedle? What's wrong?" asked Rolf. He got his answer as Weedle started to glow.
"Dude. Your Weedle's evolving!" said Kevin. They watch as Weedle started to change into a yellow cocoon with black eyes. Jonny takes out the pokedex and points it at Rolf's newly evolved Pokemon.
"Kakuna, the Cocoon Pokemon, and the evolved form of Weedle. While awaiting evolution, it hides from predators under leaves and in nooks of branches." said the pokedex.
"Cool." said Jonny. He looks at Kakuna's information. "This says your Kakuna learned Harden, and she has the Shed Skin ability like my Metapod." They continued to travel. As they did, Bunnelby finds another Potion and Zigzagoon finding a pokeball that was blue with two red marking on the top half instead of red like a regular pokeball. As they continued to travel, a boy approached them.
"Excuse me." said the boy.
"Yes?" replied Rolf.
"Would any of you like to have a Pokemon battle with me?" asked the boy.
"Yes. Rolf would like to have a Pokemon battle with you." replied Rolf. A minute later, Rolf and the boy were standing several feet from each other while Jonny was sitting against a tree while holding Plank, and Kevin was leaning against it. The boy pulls out a pokeball from his pocket.
"We'll each use two Pokemon in this battle." said the boy.
"Rolf accepts." said Rolf. The boy takes out a pokeball and throws it to release a Scatterbug. Rolf takes a pokeball out as well.
"Pidgey, Rolf chooses you." said Rolf as he throws his pokeball, releasing his Pidgey. "Pidgey, use Tackle!" Pidgey flies at Scatterbug and slams into it.
"Scatterbug, use String Shot!" said the boy. Scatterbug sparys a stream of string from its mouth which wrap around Rolf's Pidgey, reducing her speed.
"Pidgey, use Sand Attack!" said Rolf. Pidgey manages to fling some sand into Scatterbug's eyes, blinding it and lowering its accuracy.
"Hurry, Scatterbug; use Tackle!" said the boy. Scatterbug leaps at Pidgey and manages to hit her.
"Pidgey, use one more Tackle!" said Rolf. Pidgey quickly flies at Scatterbug and hits it with another Tackle attack, knocking it out.
"Scatterbug, no!" said the boy.
"Nice one, Rolf!" said Kevin.
"Way to go, Rolf!" said Jonny. Rolf smiles at them and nods. The boy returns his Scatterbug to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Scatterbug." said the boy as he puts his Scatterbug's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Fletchling, I choose you!" The boys throws the pokeball and releases a Fletchling from it. "Okay, Fletchling; use Growl!" The boy's Fletchling growls at Pidgey, making her nervous and lowering her attack power.
"Pidgey, use Tackle!" said Rolf. Pidgey flies at the Fletchling and hits it with a Tackle, but not doing as much damage as it normally would've thanks to her attack power being lowered.
"Fletchling, use Tackle!" said the boy. The Fletchling flies at Pidgey and slams into her.
"Rolf will not give up!" said Rolf. "Pidgey, use Tackle again!" Pidgey then hits the Fletchling with another Tackle attack.
"Fletchling, use Tackle again!" said the boy. The Fletchling flies at Pidgey, but Rolf was ready.
"Pidgey, dodge the Fletchling and hit it with another Tackle!" said Rolf. Pidgey was able to dodge the Fletchling's Tackle and turn around to hit Fletchling with her own Tackle attack, sending it crashing to the ground unconscious.
"You did it, Rolf!" said Jonny.
"Rolf is victorious!" cheered Rolf. The boy returns Fletchling to its pokeball.
"You were great, Fletchling." said the boy. He walks over to Rolf. "Well, it looks like you beat me. Here you go." He gives Rolf pokedollars.
"Rolf gives you thanks." said Rolf. The boys smile in response and walks away. Rolf turns towards Jonny and Kevin. "Shall we continue with our travel?"
"Hey, guys, look up there." said Kevin, pointing up at something. Jonny and Rolf look up to see three simian Pokemon on a tree branch looking down at them. One was cream and green colored with a tuft of hair on its head that looks like a tree, another was cream and red with a tuft of hair on its head that looks like a flame, and the last one was cream and blue with a tuft of hair that looks like a wave.
"What are those?" asked Jonny as he takes out the pokedex and points it at the cream and green Pokemon.
"Pansage, the Grass Monkey Pokemon. It's good at finding berries and gathers them from all over. It's kind enough to share them with friends." said the pokedex. Jonny then points it at the cream and red Pokemon. "Pansear, the High Temp Pokemon. This Pokemon lives in caves in volcanoes. The fire within the tuft on its head can reach 600 degrees Fahrenheit." Jonny then points it at the cream and blue Pokemon. "Panpour, the Spray Pokemon. The water stored inside the tuft on its head is full of nutrients. Plants that recieve its water grow large." The three simian Pokemon jumps down from the tree branch and face Kevin, Rolf, and Jonny.
"Think they want to battle?" asked Jonny. Kevin takes out a pokeball.
"If they do, let's not disappoint them." said Kevin. "Froakie, you're up." He throws Froakie's pokeball and releases him. Rolf returns Pidgey to her pokeball.
"You rest from your battle, Pidgey." said Rolf. He puts Pidgey's pokeball in his pocket and pulls out another pokeball. "Fennekin, Rolf chooses you." He throws Fennekin's pokeball and releases her. Jonny pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Let's go, Chespin." said Jonny, throwing Chespin's pokeball and releases him. Kevin's Froakie was facing Pansear.
"Froakie, use Quick Attack!" said Kevin. Froakie leaps at Pansear with incredible speed and rams into it, knocking it back. The Pansear glares at Froakie and its eyes glow blue, making Froakie shudder. "You can do it, Froakie. Use Bubble!" Froakie releases bubbles from his mouth and they hit Pansear, causing super effective damage to it. The Pansear jumps at Froakie and scratches him in the chest. "Froakie, Pound!" Froakie leaps at Pansear and hits it on the head, knocking it to the ground. Kevin takes an empty pokeball out of his pocket, enlarges it and throws it at Pansear, hitting it and sucking it in. After it wiggles around for a few seconds, it stops and clicks, indicating Pansear's capture. Kevin walks over to Pansear's pokeball, picks it up and spins it on his index finger like a basketball. "Radical." He then clutches Pansear's pokeball and holds it out forward. "I caught a Pansear!"
"Nice one, Kevin!" said Jonny. He looks at the Panpour, takes out his Chespin's pokeball, and releases him from it. Chespin and the Panpour stare each other down. "Okay, Chespin; use Vine Whip!" Vines extend out of Chespin's body and strike the Panpour, doing super effective damage. The Panpour stares harshly at Chespin, making him nervous and lowering his defense.
"Looks like it knows Leer, dude." said Kevin.
"Hurry, Chespin; use Growl!" said Jonny. Chespin growls at the Panpour, making it nervous and lowering its attack power.
"Nice move, using Growl to even things out." said Kevin. The Panpour jumps at Chespin and scratches it across his chest.
"Oh yeah?! Chespin; use Tackle!" said Jonny. Chespin charges at the Panpour and rams his head into its chest, knocking it to the ground. Jonny takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Panpour, hitting it and sucking it inside. After a few seconds, the pokeball clicks, indicating a successful capture. Jonny runs over and picks up the pokeball. "Right on! I caught Panpour!"
"Good work, Jonny Boy!" said Kevin. With Rolf, he has his Fennekin out and they were staring at the Pansage.
"Fennekin, use Ember!" said Rolf. Fennekin breathes out bits of fire which hit Pansage, doing super effective damage. The Pansage jumps at Fennekin and scratches her across the face. "Fennekin, use Scratch!" Fennekin jumps at Pansage and scratches it across his chest, knocking it down. Rolf quickly pulls out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Pansage, hitting it and sucking it inside. After a few seconds, the pokeball clicks, indicating a successful capture.
"You did it, Rolf!" said Jonny. Rolf walks over and picks up Pansage's pokeball.
"Rolf has caught a Pansage!" said Rolf as he holds up his new Pansage's pokeball in triumph.
"Good work, dude." said Kevin.
"Yes. Rolf is pleased." said Rolf. Jonny looks up their new Pokemon on the pokedex.
"This says that all three of our new Pokemon are boys, they all know Scratch, Growl, and Play Nice; and they all have the Gluttony ability which makes them eat a berry that they might be holding if they have half their stamina remaining." said Jonny.
"Okay. Let's keep going." said Kevin. As they continued their way through the forest. Minutes later, Jonny and a girl were facing each other, holding a pokeball while Kevin and Rolf were watching.
"Pikachu, go!" said the girl, throwing the pokeball and releasing a yellow, mouse-like Pokemon that has a tail that resembled a lightning bolt. Kevin takes out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Pikachu, the Mouse Pokemon. It has small electric sacs on both its cheeks. It threatened, it looses electric charges from the sacs." said the pokedex.
"Go, Chespin!" said Jonny, throwing Chespin's pokeball and releasing him. "Okay, Chespin, use Vine Whip!" Two light green vines come out of each side of Chespin's head, and they hit the Pikachu, knocking it back.
"Pikachu, Thunder Shock!" said the girl. The Pikachu releases a lightning bolt from its body, and it hits Chespin, but not doing much damage to him.
"Good thing electric type attacks don't work well against grass types." said Jonny. "Chespin, Tackle!" Chespin runs at Pikachu and rams into it, knocking it to the ground, unconsious. "We did it, Chespin!"
"Ches!" cheered Chespin. The girl then returns Pikachu to its pokeball. She gives Jonny pokedollars and walks away. Kevin and Rolf walk over to Jonny.
"You did quite well against that trainer, Jonny." said Rolf.
"Thanks, Rolf." replied Jonny. They continued travelling through the forest. As they did, Bunnelby finds an Antidote while Zigzagoon finds another Potion thanks to their Pickup abilities. As they continue walking through the forest, a girl approaches Kevin.
"Excuse me but are you by any chance a Pokemon trainer?" asked the girl.
"Yeah." replied Kevin. The girl pulls a pokeball out of a backpack she had with her.
"Then would you like to have a two-on-two Pokemon battle with me?" asked the girl.
"Sure." said Kevin. Kevin and the girl walked several feet from each other while Jonny and Rolf walk over to a log and sat down on it. Kevin pulls a pokeball out of his pocket. "Scatterbug, you're up!" He throws Scatterbug's pokeball and releases her.
"Weedle, come out!" said the girl, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Weedle.
"Scatterbug, Stun Spore!" said Kevin. Scatterbug jumps up and begins shaking, releasing an orange powder that falls onto Weedle. Electicity surrounds Weedle and it begins shuddering.
"Oh no. Weedle's paralyzed." said the girl. "Weedle, try using Poison Sting!" Weedle tries to jump at Scatterbug, but its paralysis kicked in, preventing it from attacking.
"Scatterbug, Tackle!" said Kevin. Scatterbug jumps at Weedle and rams it, knocking it back.
"Poison Sting!" said the girl. Weedle breaks through its paralysis and jumps at Scatterbug and stings her. It turns purple under Scatterbug's eyes.
"Plank says Scatterbug's been poisoned!" said Jonny.
"Oh man." said Kevin. "Quick, Scatterbug, Tackle!" Scatterbug rams into Weedle again, this time, knocking it out.
"Weedle, no!" said the girl.
"Good work, Scatterbug." said Kevin. Scatterbug nods before she coughs from her poisoning, losing a bit of stamina. The girl returns Weedle to its pokeball.
"You did well, Weedle." said the girl. She puts Weedle's pokeball in her backpack and pulls out another pokeball. "Bunnelby, go!" She throws the pokeball and releases a Bunnelby.
"That Bunnelby doesn't look as strong as Rolf's Bunnelby." said Rolf. Kevin returns Scatterbug to her pokeball.
"You did enough for now, Scatterbug." said Kevin. He puts Scatterbug's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Froakie, you're up!" He throws Froakie's pokeball and releases him. "Use Quick Attack!" Froakie leaps at Bunnelby with incredible speed and rams into it, knocking it back.
"Use Tackle!" said the girl. Bunnelby hops at Froakie and rams him.
"Use Pound, Froakie!" said Kevin. Froakie leaps at Bunnelby.
"Use Agility!" said the girl. Bunnelby leaps away from Froakie and he misses. "Now use Tackle!" Bunnelby hops at Froakie and rams him.
"Bubble!" said Kevin. Froakie unleashes bubbles from his mouth, and they hit Bunnelby.
"Use Leer!" said the girl. Bunnelby looks at Froakie and its eyes glow blue, making Froakie shudder.
"Quick Attack, Froakie!" said Kevin. Froakie leaps at Bunnelby with incredible speed, and he rams Bunnelby, knocking it to the ground, unconscious.
"Awesome work, Froakie!" said Kevin.
"Fro." replied Froakie. The girl returned Bunnelby to its pokeball.
"You were great, Bunnelby." said the girl. She puts Bunnelby's pokeball in her backpack and walks over to Kevin. "Your Pokemon are strong."
"Yours aren't half bad themselves." said Kevin. The girl smiles in response. She gives Kevin pokedollars and walks away. Rolf and Jonny walk over to Kevin while Rolf pulls the Antidote his Bunnelby found.
"Rolf thinks you should use this Antidote on your Scatterbug." said Rolf.
"Yeah. Plank remembers Double-D telling us how they can cure a Pokemon of its poisoning." said Jonny. Kevin takes the Antidote.
"Thanks, man." said Kevin. He lets Scatterbug out of her pokeball. He then sprays Scatterbug with the antidote and she was cured. "How you feeling, girl?" Scatterbug smiles and nods. Kevin returns Scatterbug to her pokeball and they continue travelling and soon reached the other side of Santalune Forest. They look up at the sky and see the sun was about to go down. Also, in the distance they see Santalune City.
"Maybe we should call it a day, guys." said Jonny.
"Yeah, it's starting to get dark." said Kevin.
"Rolf is also hungry." said Rolf. Kevin's stomach starts to grumble.
"Yeah, let's get to the Pokemon Center in Santalune City." said Kevin.
"They're the buildings with red roofs, right?" asked Jonny.
"Yeah, man. Let's get going." said Kevin. They all run to Santalune City and quickly found the Pokemon Center. They then enter it and head up to the front counter.
"Excuse me, ma'am. Is this where we go to get our Pokemon healed?" asked Jonny.
"Yes, it is, young man. I'll be glad to treat your Pokemon." said the nurse. The boys then hand the nurse their Pokemon. "Thank you. I'll treat them right away."
"Where's the cafeteria?" asked Kevin. The nurse points behind them. They look to see an area with a buffet and several booths. "Oh. Thanks a lot."
"You're quite welcome." said the nurse.
"Could we get a room to sleep in also?" asked Jonny.
"Certainly. You can have room seven, down that hall over there." said the nurse.
"Thank you." said Jonny. The boys then turn and head for the cafeteria. A few minutes later, the boys were eating dinner.
"It's good the Ed boys taught us about these Pokemon Centers." said Rolf before taking a bite out of a big drumstick.
"Yeah, man." said Kevin as he takes a bite of the slice of pepperoni pizza he was holding. "It's so rad. Free rooms and free food."
"Speaking of the Eds; I wonder how they're doing?" asked Jonny as he bites into a ham sandwich.
"I wonder if the Eds are near a Pokemon Center in Alola?" asked Kevin. Jonny looks around and sees several phones in the lobby.
"Maybe we can call one of the Pokemon Centers in Alola and find out." suggested Jonny.
"Good idea, man." said Kevin. After they ate, they went to the nurse to get a list of Alola Pokemon Center phone numbers. Once they do, they go to the nearest available phone and called one in a place in Alola called Hau'oli City. A nurse appears on the video monitor.
"This is the Hau'oli City Pokemon Center; how may I help you?" asked the nurse.
"Yeah. We're wondering if three guys named Ed, Edd, and Eddy are there." said Kevin.
"I'm not sure; but I can check and see if you'd like." said the nurse.
"Thanks." said Kevin. The nurse puts them on hold to look for the Eds. Two minutes later, the Eds appear on the monitor.
"Hey, guys!" said Ed.
"How are you three doing? Did you get to the Kalos Region okay?" asked Edd.
"You bet." replied Jonny. Sarah and Jimmy walked to the front of the monitor.
"Hi, you guys!" said Sarah.
"Sarah? Jimmy? What are you two doing there?" asked Kevin.
"They kind of stowed away with us." said Eddy.
"So how are things in Alola, Ed boys?" asked Rolf.
"Alola is so great!" replied Ed.
"And the Pokemon here are fascinating." said Edd.
"What kind of Pokemon did you get?" asked Jonny. They all told each other about their starter Pokemon and all the Pokemon they captured so far, along with what they all experienced in their journeys so far. Eddy was smiling with glee when Kevin told them about the Ed merchandise they saw.
"So where exactly in Kalos are you?" asked Edd.
"We're in Santalune City. There's a gym here we plan on challenging soon." replied Kevin.
"I recommend training your Pokemon some more." said Edd. "Gym leaders are much stronger than regular trainers."
"We'll keep that in mind." said Kevin. After talking for a few more minutes, they end the call.
"Sounds like the Eds are doing okay." said Jonny.
"Rolf can't believe that Sarah and Jimmy are there also." said Rolf.
"I can't believe how popular the Eds are there." said Kevin.
"They're popular here, too." said Jonny.
"Rolf is also amazed how popular the Ed boys are." said Rolf.
"Yeah, man." said Kevin. "If we're gonna be as popular as they are, we're gonna need to become strong trainers."
"You bet, Kevin." said Jonny. Rolf yawns and stretches.
"Rolf is how you would say...pooped." said Rolf. Jonny giggles.
"You said 'poop'." said Jonny. He and Kevin both then yawn.
"Yeah, I'm beat." said Kevin. "Let's go to our room and get some sleep." They go to their room, showered, and went to bed. Early next morning, Nazz's plane was heading towards the Lumiose City's International Airport runway. On the plane, Nazz opens and rubs her eyes. Just then, an announcement over the PA system told the passengers that they were about to land. She looks out the window and sees the airport.
"Finally, I'm here." said Nazz.
