Training and Nazz's First Pokemon
The next morning; after Kevin, Rolf, and Jonny had breakfast; they went to the front counter of the Pokemon Center to pick up their Pokemon.
"Here you are, boys." said the nurse with a smile as he holds out a tray with the boys' pokeballs on it. "Your Pokemon are back to full health."
"Thanks, ma'am." said Kevin as he, Rolf, and Jonny grab their pokeballs.
"By the way; have you three registered for the Kalos League yet?" asked the nurse.
"No. I thought we were already registered." said Kevin. The nurse holds out three tablets and hands one to each of the boys.
"You just need to fill out these applications, then I can get your Trainer IDs printed out for you after I get your pictures taken so you can be fully registered." said the nurse.
"Okay." said Kevin as he and the others sat down and filled out the applications. Five minutes later, they finish and hand the tablets back to the nurse. Afterwards, she had each boy stand against a wall so she could take their pictures.
"Thank you. Just give me an hour and I'll have your IDs ready for you." said the nurse.
"Awesome." said Kevin. As the nurse heads for her office, Kevin looks at Rolf and Jonny.
"So what now, Kevin?" asked Rolf.
"What should we do while our IDs are being made?" asked Jonny. Kevin thinks for a few seconds.
"We could go train our Pokemon and maybe catch some new ones for our teams." suggested Kevin.
"Yes. Double-D Ed boy did suggest we train our Pokemon for our gym battle." said Rolf.
"Good idea, Kevin." said Jonny. They look around and see a PokeMart.
"Is that a PokeMart?" asked Kevin.
"I thought Double-D said that they and Pokemon Centers were separate buildings." said Jonny. A man nearby hears them.
"In some places that's true; but in other places like here in Kalos, they're in the same building." said the man.
"Oh. That's pretty handy." said Kevin.
"Yeah." said Jonny. They each purchase a few more pokeballs and exit the Pokemon Center.
"Where should we go to train our Pokemon?" asked Rolf.
"How about that area we went through after the Santalune Forest to get here? We didn't stay long enough to see what Pokemon were there." suggested Jonny.
"Good idea, Jonny. Let's go." said Kevin. As the boys headed for the south exit of Santalune City; back at Lumiose City, Nazz was just exiting the airport with her bag.
"Okay. So I need to find this Professor Sycamore guy's lab." said Nazz as she looked around. She goes to the first person she saw who was a girl about her age with purple hair, a white jacket with matching skirt, along with an orange ascot around her neck. The girl looks at Nazz with a curious expression.
"Can I help you?" asked the girl.
"Yeah, I'm wondering if you know the way to Professor Sycamore's lab." said Nazz.
"Yes. I'm Sina, one of Professor Sycamore's assistants." said the girl now known as Sina.
"Wow. Talk about lucky." said Nazz.
"Why do you want to know where Professor Sycamore's lab is?" asked Sina.
"Well, some friends of mine went there yesterday to get starter Pokemon for themselves and I'm looking for them." said Nazz.
"I see." said Sina. "I'll show you where it is."
"Wow. Thanks a lot." said Nazz. She leads Nazz all the way to Professor Sycamore lab and leads her inside. Nazz looks around with astonishment at how big the place was.
"This place is huge. It's like a mansion." said Nazz. As she continues to look around, Professor Sycamore enters the lobby and sees her.
"Excuse me, young lady." said Professor Sycamore, getting Nazz's attention.
"Oh, hi. Are you Professor Sycamore?" asked Nazz.
"Indeed I am. What can I do for you?" replied Professor Sycamore.
"I'm Nazz, and I'm wondering if you know if my friends Kevin, Jonny, and Rolf were here yesterday and where they are now." said Nazz.
"Yes. They were here yesterday. I gave them each a starter Pokemon." said Professor Sycamore.
"Awesome. Do you know where they are right now?" asked Nazz.
"Not entirely sure." said Professor Sycamore as he pulls out a tablet and brings up a map of the Kalos Region. "But if I had to guess, they'd probably be somewhere around Santalune City right now which is right here." He shows and points at a spot on the map to Nazz.
"How would I be able to get there from here?" asked Nazz.
"Just head for the south exit of Lumiose City and head straight down the path outside the checkpoint there to get to Santalune City." said Professor Sycamore.
"Awesome. Thanks, dude." said Nazz.
"And make sure not to go into tall grass unless you have your own Pokemon to protect you from wild ones that could be hiding in it." said Professor Sycamore.
"Okay." said Nazz as she exits the building. She soon reaches the south exit to Lumiose City and leaves through it.
Meanwhile south of Santalune City on Route 3; Kevin, Rolf, and Jonny were training their Pokemon. Kevin's Froakie learned Lick, his Fletchling learned Peck, and his Pansear learned Lick and Incinerate. Even though Kevin's Scatterbug didn't learn anything, something just as good happened. While training, Scatterbug froze up.
"Hey, Scatterbug. You okay?" asked Kevin. He got his answer when Scatterbug started to glow.
"Check it out! Scatterbug's evolving!" said Jonny. The three boys watch as Scatterbug started to change. When the glowing stopped, they see that Scatterbug's body was covered with a white fur that had specks of red, yellow, and black on it. Kevin takes out the pokedex and points it at his newly evolved Scatterbug.
"Spewpa, the Scatterdust Pokemon, and the evolved form of Scatterbug. The beaks of bird Pokemon can't begin to scratch its stalwart body. To defend itself, it spews powder." said the pokedex.
"That's awesome. And this says she learned Protect, and she has the Shed Skin ability." said Kevin.
"Far out, Kev!" said Jonny.
"Rolf is also happy for you." said Rolf. Seeing Kevin's Scatterbug evolve has motivated them to train more. Rolf's Fennekin learned Howl, his Bunnelby learned Double Slap, his Pidgey learned Gust, and his Pansage learned Lick and Vine Whip. While training, Rolf's Kakuna started to glow.
"Dude! Kakuna's evolving!" said Kevin. Kakuna looks like her body cracks open and out of it came a wasplike Pokemon with lances for hands. Rolf takes the pokedex from Kevin and points it towards his newly evolved Pokemon.
"Beedrill, the Poison Bee Pokemon, and the fully evolved form of Weedle. May appear in a swarm. Flies at violent speeds, all the while stabbing with the toxic stinger on its rear." said the pokedex. Jonny puts his ear up to Plank's mouth.
"Plank says he wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that bee's stinger." said Jonny.
"I can relate to that." said Kevin. Rolf looks to see that more information on his new Beedrill is being displayed on the pokedex.
"This dohickey says that Beedrill has learned Fury Attack, and she has the Swarm ability which makes her bug type moves stronger when she's tired." said Rolf.
"Way to go, Rolf!" said Jonny.
"Yeah, dude. You're the first of us to fully evolve a Pokemon." said Kevin.
"Yes. Rolf is pleased." said Rolf. Jonny trained up his Pokemon as well. His Chespin learned Bite, his Zigzagoon learned Headbutt and Baby-Doll Eyes as well as finding a Potion, and a Great Ball thanks to his Pickup ability; and his Panpour learned Lick and Water Gun. While he was training his Metapod, it froze up and started to glow as well.
"Check it out." said Kevin. "Now Jonny's Metapod is evolving." They watch as Metapod's body cracks open and out of it came a butterflylike Pokemon.
"Far out!" said Jonny as he grabs the pokedex from Rolf and points it at his newly evolved Pokemon.
"Butterfree, the Butterfly Pokemon, and the fully evolved form of Caterpie. The wings are protected by rain-repellent dust. As a result, this Pokemon can fly about even in rain." said the pokedex.
"Cool!" said Jonny. "This says that my Butterfree learned Confusion, and she has the Compound Eyes ability which improves her accuracy."
"Way to go, Jonny." said Kevin.
"Rolf is proud of Jonny the Wood Boy." said Rolf.
"We're doing awesome!" said Kevin.
"I'll bet we'll be ready for the Santalune Gym in no time!" said Jonny.
"You got that right, dude!" said Kevin. "Let's keep training." They do so for a while longer; during that training, Jonny's Butterfree learned Poison Powder, Stun Spore, and Sleep Powder. While they continue their training, Nazz is walking down Route 4, taking in the scenery. When she left Lumiose City, she was greeted by the sight of a beautiful fountain.
"That is so cool." said Nazz as she looks at the fountain with awe. After that, she continues to walk down the road. As she does, she checks out the many hedge mazes that were in the area. In the mazes, she finds an Antidote, a Repel, a Super Potion, and a Great Ball. She looks at the Great Ball with curiosity.
"This thing kind of looks like the pokeballs that the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy kept their Pokemon in, but it's different." Nazz says. She puts the items she found into her backpack and continues to walk down the road. She stops to look at the flowerbeds in the area and notices a purple object that looks like an arrow. She picks it up and decides to just put in her backpack for now. As she smells a yellow flower in one of the flowerbeds, she notices it moving a little. When she looks at the flower's stem, she sees a small white Pokemon with a green lower body with a tail, pointed nose, long ears, and a crown made of beads of pollen on its head. She notices it looked like it was trying to pull the flower out of the ground.
"Hey, little dude." said Nazz, getting the Pokemon's attention. "Would you like some help with that?" The Pokemon tilts its head which Nazz thought was adorable, and nods. Nazz smiles and picks the flower out of the ground and hands it to the Pokemon, who then grabs onto its stem and floats around with joy.
"I see you found yourself a Flabebe." said a male voice from behind her. She looks to see a person who appears to be a gardener, trimming a part of one of the hedge mazes.
"A Flabebe?" replied Nazz.
"Yes." said the gardener. "Flabebe is a fairy type Pokemon."
"Fairy type, huh?" says Nazz. "That would explain why it's so cute." Flabebe floats by Nazz's face with its flower grazing her nose. The pollen from Flabebe's flower gets into Nazz's nose and makes her sneeze. She stumbles backwards and falls onto the soft grass, making the Great Ball she found fall out of her backpack and lands on its button, enlarging it. Curious, Flabebe floats over and lands right on the button of the Great Ball, making it open up and sucking Flabebe in. The ball wiggles for a bit before clicking. Nazz was stunned by what just happened.
"Well now, young lady." said the gardener. "Looks like you caught a Flabebe." Nazz was surprised by what the gardener told her.
"Really?! I actually caught a Pokemon?!" replied Nazz.
"Yep." said the gardener. "So, what are you going to do with her?"
"How do you know that Flabebe's a girl?" asked Nazz.
"All Flabebes are girls." said the gardener.
"Oh." replied Nazz. "Well, I don't really know much about Flabebe; but maybe when I find my friends, they can tell me more about her."
"Okay." said the gardener. "Have a pleasant journey."
"Thanks, dude." said Nazz. She gets up off the ground and continues heading down the road, all while looking at her new Flabebe's Great Ball with a smile on her face.
"I can't believe I actually caught a Pokemon!" Nazz says to herself with excitement. "I can't wait to show the boys. They'll be so surprised!"
