Parfum Palace
Kevin, Rolf, Jonny, and Nazz were heading down Route 6 towards the Parfum Palace to retrieve the PokeFlute from the owner. Along the way, they were challenged to Pokemon battles by a few trainers. At the moment, Rolf was battling a tourist who had her Gulpin out while Rolf had his Bunnelby ready to fight.
"Bunnelby, use Mud Shot!" said Rolf. Bunnelby flings multiple globs of mud at the Gulpin, doing super effective damage and knocking it out.
"Good work, Rolf!" said Jonny.
"Yes. Rolf is pleased." said Rolf. The tourist returns her Gulpin to its pokeball, gives Rolf pokedollars, and walks towards Camphrier Town.
"Now that that's over, let's get to that Parfum Palace place." said Kevin. They continue until they reach a large, walled-off, palace.
"Whoa." said Nazz. "That place looks so fancy."
"This must be Parfum Palace." said Kevin. They walked up to the front gate when a butler who was standing outside the wall, walks in front of them, blocking their way.
"I'm sorry, kids. But there's a 1,000 pokedollar entrance fee per person." said the butler, shocking the Cul-De-Sac kids.
"A thousand pokedollars?!" replied Kevin.
"You see, the owner of the palace follows the school of thought that you can never have too much money." said the butler.
"Well, that's just bogus." said Kevin.
"The proceeds for the entrance fee help pay for repairing and restoring the palace,...probably." said the butler.
"Fine." said Kevin as he and Nazz each pull a thousand pokedollars out of their pockets and gives it to the butler.
"I think I'll just stay outside and look through that grassy area over there." said Jonny, pointing to a grassy area near the palace. "Maybe I can find some Pokemon to catch."
"Yes. Rolf would also like to look for more Pokemon." said Rolf.
"Okay. Me and Nazz will go try to get the PokeFlute." said Kevin. He pulls the pokedex out of his backpack and gives it to Jonny.
"Good luck, you guys." said Jonny. The butler steps aside so Kevin and Nazz can walk through the gate while Jonny and Rolf walked to the tall grass. Jonny was walking through the grass, looking around when he sees a white, insect like Pokemon with brown forelegs and small green wings. Jonny pulls the pokedex out of his backpack and points it at the Pokemon.
"Nincada, the Trainee Pokemon. It can sometimes live underground for more than 10 years. It absorbs nutrients from the roots of trees." said the pokedex. Jonny pulls Charmeleon's pokeball out of his pocket.
"Charmeleon, go!" said Jonny, throwing Charmeleon's pokeball and releasing him. "All right, Charmeleon, Dragon Rage!" Charmeleon opens his mouth and forms a ball of light purple energy in it. He launches it at Nincada, blasting it. The Nincada leaps at Charmeloen and swings its right foreleg at him, hitting him. "Use Ember!" Charmeleon unleashes small bits of fire out of his mouth, and they hit Nincada, dealing super effective damage, knocking Nincada to the ground. Jonny quickly takes an empty pokeball out of his pocket and throws it at Nincada, hitting it. It gets sucked into the pokeball and after it wiggled around a few times, it clicks, indicating Nincada's capture. "Right on! I caught a Nincada!"
"Very good, Jonny the Wood Boy." said Rolf. Nincada's pokeball vanishes due to Jonny already having six Pokemon with him. Jonny uses the pokedex to learn more about his new Nincada.
"Okay. Nincada is part bug and part ground, it's a boy, he knows Scratch, Harden, Leech Life, and Sand Attack. He has the Compound Eyes ability, which increases his accuracy." said Jonny. Meanwhile, back at Parfum Palace, Kevin and Nazz were looking around the main foyer at all the gold statues, such as four that looked like a Pokemon with blades all over its body (Bisharp), and one that looked like a beautiful, serpent like Pokemon (Milotic). In front of the serpent statue was a man who looked like he was looking for something.
"Where is it?" asked the man. "Where's my Furfrou?!"
"Furfrou?" replied Nazz. "You mean that dog looking Pokemon?"
"Yeah." said Kevin. The man continued to look around.
"My beloved little Furfrou has disappeared!" said the man. Nazz turns to look at Kevin.
"You think we should help this dude out and find his Furfrou?" asked Nazz.
"Yeah." said Kevin. "Maybe it's still somewhere in the palace?"
"Yeah, this place does look big enough to lose yourself in." said Nazz.
"Let's take a look around." said Kevin. The two explore the palace, keeping their eyes open for Furfrou as they do. After half an hour of looking inside every room in the palace for the missing Furfrou, they meet back up in the foyer.
"Did you find Furfrou?" asked Nazz.
"I searched every room I could find; no luck." said Kevin. They think for a little while to decide what to do next.
"Well, if the Furfrou's not inside the palace, maybe it's outside." said Nazz.
"That sounds right." said Kevin. "Since we didn't see a Furfrou outside the front of the palace, or on the way down Route 6, maybe it's in the backyard if there is one?"
"Let's check it out." said Nazz. They both make their way to the back gate of the palace and step outside to see a large bridge, going alongside a large statue of a man, standing in front of a large Pokemon (Gollurk) that was holding a small, foxlike Pokemon (Eevee). They cross the bridge and make their way to a large garden with fountains, several large statues of pokeballs and some Pokemon they've never seen before, and some hedge mazes.
"Dude. This is a nice garden." said Kevin.
"I'll say." said Nazz. "Maybe that Furfrou got lost in one of the hedge mazes here?"
"That could be true." said Kevin. "Let's check them out." They both split up and start searching the hedge mazes. In one of them, Nazz comes across an object that looked like a disc. Upon inspection, Kevin sees that it was an HM for a move called Cut.
"I think this is one of those HMs that Double-D told us about before." said Nazz. "Maybe I can use it on one of my Pokemon later." She puts the HM in her backpack and continues her search for the Furfrou.
Meanwhile back on Route 6, Rolf was facing down a Pokemon that looked like a sword with a gold handle with what looked like a blue eye in it, along with a blue ribbon with a wave design that was holding a sheath.
"Jonny. Rolf needs the pokedex." said Rolf. Jonny runs over to Rolf and hands him the pokedex. Rolf then points it at the swordlike Pokemon.
"Honedge, the Sword Pokemon. If anyone dares to grab its hilt, it wraps a blue cloth around that person's arm and drains that person's life energy completely." said the pokedex.
"Rolf is interested in this Pokemon." said Rolf as he pulls out his Bunnelby's pokeball and releases him from it.
"Go get it, Rolf." said Jonny.
"Bunnelby, use Quick Attack!" said Rolf. Bunnelby moves at the Honedege and fast speed but was surprised when he moves through it. "Why did Bunnelby go through the Honedge?"
"That Honedge must be a ghost type." said Jonny. "Double-D said that normal type moves like Quick Attack don't work on them." The Honedge floats at Bunnelby and slashes at him.
"Bunnelby, try Mud-Slap!" said Rolf. Bunnelby scoops up some mud and flings it at the Honedge, hitting it, doing super effective damage, and lowering its accuracy.
"That Pokemon must be part steel type." said Jonny. "So ground type attacks should be very effective against it." The Honedge floats at Bunnelby again and tries hitting him, but it misses. "Good thing Mud-Slap makes the Pokemon it's used on more likely to miss with attacks."
"Yes. Rolf is also glad." said Rolf. "Bunnelby, use Mud Shot!" Bunnelby throws larger globs of mud at the Honedge, doing super effective damage, and lowering its speed. Rolf quickly takes out a pokeball and throws it at the Honedge, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before it clicks, indicating a successful capture.
"You did it, Rolf!" cheered Jonny. Honedge's pokeball vanishes since Rolf already had six Pokemon with him. Rolf takes out the pokedex to learn more about his new Honedge.
"According to this, Rolf's Honedge is part ghost and part steel like you assumed, Jonny, it's a male, he knows Tackle, Swords Dance, Fury Cutter, and Metal Sound. He has the No Guard ability which increases his accuracy." said Rolf.
"Wow, that's cool!" said Jonny. Back at Parfum Palace, Kevin and Nazz were staring at the missing Furfrou in one of the hedge mazes.
"Do you think that's that man's missing Furfrou?" asked Nazz.
"It could be." said Kevin. "Let's try and catch it." They both slowly approach the Furfrou, only for it to run off when it sees them moving towards it.
"Oh man, it ran off." said Nazz.
"Don't give up, Nazz." said Kevin. "Maybe we can try luring it to a dead end."
"Okay." said Nazz. Working together, they managed to corner the Furfrou and catch it.
"Good work." said Kevin. They bring the Furfrou out of the hedge maze and to the end of the bridge. When they get there, they see the man from the foyer running towards them.
"Furfrou! There you are!" said the man as he hugged the Furfrou. He lets go and looks at Kevin and Nazz. "Are you two the ones who found my beloved Furfrou?"
"Yeah, man." said Kevin.
"Thank you so much." said the man. "I don't know what I would've done if I lost my cute little Furfrou." Kevin and Nazz look at each other.
"This guy really likes that Furfrou, doesn't he?" said Nazz.
"Looks like it." said Kevin.
"How could I ever thank you two?" asked the man. Nazz then remembered the situation with the Snorlax on the bridge.
"Well, you see, there's this Snorlax on a bridge near here that's blocking the way to Cyllage City, and we were wondering if we could borrow the PokeFlute to wake it up so it can move out of the way." said Nazz.
"So, it's that time of year again?" asked the man. "Well, it wouldn't do the area any good if no one can really get to Camphrier Town." They then enter Parfum Palace, and the man has one of his servants bring the PokeFlute to them. The butler returns with a flute that looked like it was going through a pokeball. The man takes the flute from the butler and gives it to Kevin and Nazz.
"Thank you, sir." said Nazz as she puts the PokeFlute into her backpack. "We'll return it as soon as we're done with it."
"Do take care of that Snorlax quickly." said the man.
"We plan on it, man." said Kevin. He and Nazz exit Parfum Palace and soon run into Rolf and Jonny.
"Hey, guys." said Jonny. "Did you get the PokeFlute?" Nazz pulls the PokeFlute out of her backpack.
"Yeah." said Nazz.
"Right on!" said Jonny. "I caught a Nincada, and Rolf caught a Honedge."
"Cool." said Kevin.
"So what now, Kevin?" asked Rolf.
"Let's get to the bridge and take care of the Snorlax problem." said Kevin.
"Okay." said Jonny. With that, the four head back towards the bridge.
