Going for Countess Ranking
After Kevin's Pokemon healed after his battle with his new rival, Carter, the group exited the Cyllage City Pokemon Center.
"So where is the next gym?" asked Rolf. Kevin pulls the map out of his backpack and looks at it.
"It looks like the next gym is located in a place called Shalour City." said Kevin. "If we travel north from here, we can travel through Route 10 until we get to a place called Geosenge Town. After that, we travel east from there until we reach some place called Reflection Cave, we through there and then we'll reach Shalour City."
"Let's get going!" said Jonny.
"You guys think we can go to the Battle Chateau first?" asked Nazz. "I really want to try to earn the Countess Ranking there."
"I guess we could do that." said Kevin. "Now do any of our Pokemon know how to use that Strength HM Grant gave us?" Nazz looks up their Pokemon on the pokedex to see if any of them can learn the move.
"It looks like Rolf's Diggersby can learn the move." said Nazz.
"Yes, a move like Strength is meant for a Pokemon of great strength like Rolf's Diggersby." said Rolf.
"Hey, Nazz. Do you still have that Cut HM we found back at Parfum Palace?" asked Kevin.
"Yeah, I do." said Nazz. She reaches into her backpack and pulls out the Cut HM. She then looks at the pokedex to see if any of their Pokemon can learn the HM. "It looks like your Quilladin can learn the move, Jonny."
"Right on!" said Jonny. Rolf uses the Strength HM on his Diggersby while Jonny uses the Cut HM on his Quilladin.
"Awesome. Now that Rolf's Diggersby knows Strength, we can get through Connecting Cave quicker and get to the Battle Chateau." said Nazz. Kevin looks at the map.
"It looks like the entrance to Connecting Cave is east of here." said Kevin.
"Well let's get going." said Nazz. After returning Quilladin and Diggersby to their pokeballs, the group began travelling east. Unbeknownst to them, Tony was walking out of the Cyllage City Gym looking at a Cliff Badge he was holding. As he's walking, he saw Jonny with the others, but chose not to approach the group.
"Weirdo." Tony muttered while looking at Jonny as he and the others walked towards the entrance to Connecting Cave. The group entered the cave and walked until they reached the large rock they saw when they first entered the cave. Rolf pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Diggersby, Rolf chooses you." said Rolf, tossing Diggersby's pokeball and releasing him. "Diggersby, use Strength to push that rock forward." Diggersby becomes surrounded by a red aura. He walks to the large rock and pushes it into the large hole in front of it. The rock filled the entire hole, allowing the group to walk across it. "You have done well, Diggersby." Diggersby nods in response. After returning Diggersby to his pokeball, the group walked across the large rock and through the passage until they reached the end of the cave and found themselves back on Route 7.
"Feels just like yesterday we were here." said Nazz.
"Yep." said Jonny, looking around. As he did, he sees what appeared to be silvery powder on top of a square green cloth behind a thorny bush. Jonny walks to the bush and reaches under it to try to grab the powder, but couldn't reach it.
"What's up, Jonny?" asked Kevin as he, Rolf, and Nazz walk over to him.
"I'm trying to grab that stuff there, but this dumb bush is in the way." said Jonny.
"Then have your Quilladin cut that bush down with that Cut move you taught him." said Nazz.
"Great idea." said Jonny. He pulls Quilladin's pokeball out of his pocket and tosses it, releasing his Quilladin. "Hey, Quilladin, you mind using Cut on that bush there." Quilladin nods. His right hand glows and he slashes the bush with it, cutting the bush to pieces, clearing a path for Jonny. Jonny walks to the silvery powder and ties the green cloth into a pouch around the powder and puts it in his backpack. "Thanks, Quilladin." Quilladin nods in response. After Jonny returns Quilladin to his pokeball, the group continues walking down Route 7 and soon reached the Battle Chateau. When they went inside, Mr. Hennessy spots Nazz and walks over to her.
"Lady Nazz. It is a pleasure to see you again." said Mr. Hennessy.
"Hi, Mr. Hennessy. I'm, like, here to try to earn the Countess ranking." said Nazz.
"Very good, Lady Nazz. I believe there are several Viscounts and Viscountesses you can challenge." said Mr. Hennessy.
"Awesome." said Nazz. She walks off to finds trainers to challenge.
"Go get 'em, Nazz." said Kevin.
"You can do it!" said Jonny. Nazz was looking around when a woman in a Viscountess cape walks over to her.
"Excuse me, young lady, but may I have a battle with you?" asked the woman.
"Sure." replied Nazz. Seconds later, Nazz and the woman each stand several feet from each other, holding a pokeball.
"Swirlix, go!" said the woman, throwing a pokeball and releasing a white, fluffy Pokemon.
"What is that?" asked Nazz. She pulls the pokedex out of her backpack and she points it at the Pokemon.
"Swirlix, the Cotton Candy Pokemon. Because it eats nothing but sweets, its fur is as sticky sweet as cotton candy." said the pokedex.
"A Pokemon with a sweet tooth, huh?" said Nazz. "Litleo, go!" She throws Litleo's pokeball and releases her.
"Swirlix, use Fake Tears!" said Swirlix's trainer. Swirlix begins crying and tears comes out of its eyes, weakening Litleo's special defense.
"Litleo, use Noble Roar!" said Nazz. Litleo lets out a roar and her body begins bulking up.
"Swirlix, use Round!" Swirlix's trainer. Swirlix lets out a loud cry, releasing red sound waves from its mouth and they hit Litleo, doing more damage due to Litleo's special defense being weakened.
"Fire Fang!" said Nazz. Litleo leaps at Swirlix while her mouth was covered in flames and she bites onto Swirlix, dealing a lot of damage due to Litleo's strength being increased by Noble Roar. Swirlix falls to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Swirlix, no!" said Swirlix's trainer.
"Good job, Litleo." said Nazz. Litleo roars in response. Swirlix's trainer returns it to its pokeball.
"You were marvelous, Swirlix." said Swirlix's trainer. She puts Swirlix's pokeball away and walks to Nazz. "You did an astounding job raising your Litleo, young lady."
"Thanks, ma'am." said Nazz. Swirlix's trainer gives Nazz pokedollars and walks away. Nazz spent almost an hour battling trainers and earning more pokedollars. Nazz was currently facing a girl with a Viscountess cape.
"Go, Kecleon!" said the girl, throwing a pokeball and releasing a light green, reptilian Pokemon. Nazz points the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Kecleon, the Color Swap Pokemon. It changes its shading to match its surroundings so it can sneak up on prey. Only its belly patterns stay fixed." said the pokedex. Nazz puts the pokedex away.
"Go, Farfetch'd!" said Nazz, throwing Farfetch'd's pokeball and releasing him. "Farfetch'd, use Leer!" Farfetch'd looks at Kecleon and his eyes glow blue, making Kecleon tremble and weakening its defense.
"Kecleon, use Psybeam!" said Kecleon's trainer. Kecleon holds out its right hand and releases a multicolored beam of energy from it and it hits Farfetch'd, knocking him back.
"Use Aerial Ace, Farfetch'd!" said Nazz. Farfetch'd flies at Kecleon while white streaks of energy surround him and rams Kecleon, knocking it to the ground. It struggles to get up.
"Use Feint Attack!" said Kecleon's trainer. Kecleon disappears from sight.
"Where did it go?" asked Nazz. As Farfetch'd was looking around, Kecleon reappears from behind Farfetch'd and kicks him in the back, knocking it to the ground. Farfetch'd gets back up.
"Farfetch'd, Slash!" said Nazz. Farfetch'd runs at Kecleon and slashes it with his leek as he goes by it. Kecleon stands there for a few seconds until it collapses. "Yeah! Awesome work, out there, Farfetch'd!" Farfetch'd nods in response. Kecleon's trainer returns Kecleon to its pokeball, gives Nazz pokedollars and walks away. Mr. Hennessy walks over to Nazz while holding a green cape with a pokeball shaped medal on it.
"Lady Nazz. I am pleased to inform you that you have defeated enough trainers here to climb up to the rank of Countess. Congratulations." said Mr. Hennessy.
"Awesome!" cheered Nazz. She takes off her Viscountess cape and gives it to Mr. Hennessy who gives Nazz the Countess Cape.
"You have truly earned the Countess ranking, Lady Nazz." said Mr. Hennessy. "And if you work hard enough, one day you will climb up to Marchioness."
"Cool!" said Nazz. Nazz soon walks to the main entrance where Kevin, Jonny, and Rolf were waiting. She walks over to them and spins around. "Look who's a Countess now."
"Great work, Nazz." said Kevin.
"That is so cool." said Jonny. Nazz jumps up and down a few times.
"Let's get to a Pokemon Center so I can get my Pokemon healed." said Nazz.
"Sure thing, Nazz." said Kevin. As they exited the Battle Chateau, unbeknownst to them, a girl with pale skin and black hair with bangs covering her left eye, wearing a black sleeveless shirt, black skirt that reaches her knees, black fingerless gloves that reaches her elbows, black socks and shoes, and a Viscountess cape, her right eye had black eye shadow on it, and her fingernails were painted black and carrying a black tote bag was standing in a doorway, watching Nazz.
"I don't like that girl's spirit." muttered the girl. After Nazz and the others leave, a boy with a Viscountess cape walks over to the girl.
"Hey. I want to have a Pokemon battle with you." said the boy. The girl turned towards the boy.
"Whatever." said the girl. Soon, the girl and boy were facing each other.
"Go, Pancham!" said the boy, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Pancham.
"Gothita, go." said the girl with no enthusiasm, tossing a pokeball and releasing a humanoid Pokemon with a purple head that had a tuft of black hair on top of it along with white bows on each side of its head with a black body that had a white zigzag line going around it. Pancham's trainer pulls out a pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Gothita, the Fixation Pokemon. They intently observe both Trainers and Pokémon. Apparently, they are looking at something that only Gothita can see." said the pokedex.
"Pancham, use Comet Punch!" said Pancham's trainer. Pancham runs up to Gothita and punches it two times, knocking it back. "Just so you know, my Pancham has the Iron Fist ability, which makes his punching moves stronger."
"Don't care. Gothita, Fake Tears." said Gothita's trainer. Gothita begins to cry, and tears come out of its eyes, weakening Pancham's special defense.
"Pancham, use Leer!" said Pancham's trainer. Pancham glares at Gothita and his eyes glow blue, weakening Gothita's defense. Gothita begins surging with energy. "What's going on with your Gothita?"
"You activated Gothita's Competitive ability." said Gothita's trainer. "When one of her stats is lowered, her special attack strength increases greatly. Gothita, Psybeam." Gothita holds out her arms and unleashes a multicolored beam of energy from them and it hits Pancham, causing an explosion and dealing massive damage to Pancham due to psychic type moves being strong against fighting type Pokemon, Pancham's special defense being weakened by Gothita's Fake Tears and Gothita's special attack power being increased by her Competitive ability. When the smoke from the explosion cleared, Pancham was lying on the ground with swirly eyes.
"No, Pancham!" cried Pancham's trainer.
"I guess I win." said Gothita's trainer with no enthusiasm. Pancham's trainer returns Pancham to his pokeball and walks over to Gothita's trainer.
"Good battle." said Pancham's trainer, giving Gothita's trainer pokedollars.
"Whatever." said Gothita's trainer with no enthusiasm in her voice. After the boy leaves, Mr. Hennessy walks over to Gothita's trainer.
"Lady Charlotte, I'm pleased to inform you that you have defeated enough trainers to reach the Countess ranking." said Mr. Hennessy, holding out a Countess cape. Gothita's trainer, now identified as Charlotte takes off her Viscountess cape and drops it on the floor. She then takes the Countess cape and puts it on. "Congratutions, Lady Charlotte."
"Whatever." said Charlotte. She returns Gothita to her pokeball and she walks out the main entrance. When she sees that it was sunny out, she pulls a pair of dark sunglasses out of her bag and puts them on. She looks around. "I wonder where that blonde girl is. I want to battle her and dampen her spirit." She walks down Route 7 towards Connecting Cave. "At least I don't have to deal with this sun inside the cave."
