Here's Chapter 2! I have to be honest, this one took me way too long to execute. I don't really like how it turned out, and this is definitely not my favorite so far. I hope you still enjoy it anyway!

We have a special guest for today's chapter! I doubt he'll show up again in the next few ones, so don't have your hopes up too high.

Disclaimer: I wouldn't be here, writing fanfiction of this series, if I owned them...

On an ordinary day in one of Jump City's less-populated parks, two young teens were catching up with each other. Robin and Kid Flash had donned their civilian egos, Dick Grayson and Wally West, so they could hang out without anyone pestering them as much (though a couple of girls recognized Dick and had taken a selfie with him).

In truth, they did this more often than not. As two of the first (and in Robin's case, the first) hero sidekicks of the business, there was no denying that they were good friends. Wally would sometimes even say they were "the best-est friends", and Dick would punch him in the shoulder teasingly but wouldn't deny it. Robin and Kid Flash may not act close, but when they weren't out in the field, they would run around and cause chaos as Dick and Wally.

(And when they got Roy to join them in their "adventures"... well, it's a miracle they hadn't lost any limbs, yet.)

They sat on one of the benches near a pond where a flock of ducks swam. Wally was finishing the last segment of a story he was telling about a crime he had stopped back at Central City several hours ago.

"...And that's how I got out of that hellhole."

Wally flashed him a prideful grin. Dick rolled his eyes from behind his sunglasses, but the amused smile that threatened to stretch on his face betrayed his annoyance. He had missed this. He and Wally hadn't had the chance to hang out in the past few months because of the rise of criminal activity in their cities. They only managed to meet up again now that crime had become tolerable to handle.

After a few moments, Dick stretched his arms and was satisfied when he felt a pop. He turned to face Wally, who was throwing out some bread (Dick didn't know where he got it; he assumed that Wally ran from Jump all the way to his Uncle Barry's house just now) to the ducks. He began a conversation, "So… how's Jinx? Did that thing that you guys had going on work out?"

Wally stopped feeding the flock. He turned his face from the ducks to Dick, a bashful smile on his lips, and Dick smiled back, already knowing. "She's great. I mean– sure, she's still getting used to the "becoming a hero" thing, but she's getting the hang of it."

When Dick heard about Wally and Jinx's relationship, he was skeptical. He thought Jinx had an ulterior motive and used her magic on the speedster or something. He did a little bit more research on the matter.

However, after the events of the Brotherhood of Evil, he caught a glimpse of them, and he just knew that she was on their side. Thank goodness for miracles, too. It made fighting the Hive Five so much easier now that their bad-luck witch had switched sides.

Then again, Wally did like pretty, villain-turned-heroine girls.

"Anyway, what about you? How's your relationship with Starfire?" Wally said with a cheeky smirk.

Dick's train of thought crashed upon impact when he heard that. He faced Wally so fast that he could have gotten whiplash. He glared, but it was ineffective from the tiny blush that was forming on his face. "What– relationship!? She's not even my girlfriend!"

Wally looked at him with faux confusion, acting innocent. "Oh, she isn't? Why, every time I visit the tower, I see the lovey-dovey way you look at her that I–" He never got to finish his sentence when a fist hit him in the chest lightly, and he hollered with laughter when he saw Dick's very red face.

"You. Shut up. Now," Dick said, finally utilizing the bat glare on the speedster.

Wally held up his arms in resignation. "Okay, okay! I'll stop," he said, but he was still chuckling.

The topic shifted once more and the two brothers-in-anything-but-blood continued with more conversations, but then Wally had stopped mid-sentence when he caught something– or someone– and told Dick to turn around. Curious, Dick did as he was told, only for his jaw to drop slightly when he saw his team.

The Titans were walking closer to them; talking about something he couldn't quite hear. They looked oblivious to his existence so far. Nonetheless, he turned back around, mouthing 'Hide me.' to Wally, much to the young speedster's confusion.

"Why? Do they know who you are?" he asked quietly, eyes widening.

Dick inhaled through gritted teeth. He shook his head quickly, "No, but they–"

"Yo!? Isn't that the guy we met at the bank robbery?"

His mouth had clamped shut when he heard Beast Boy's very loud question and groaned. Wally snorted as he finally realized how the Titans knew Robin's civilian identity. The two teens saw Starfire hover towards them. He didn't have time to prepare when she embraced him in a bone-crushing hug.

"Oh, new friend! It is glorious to see you again!" she exclaimed in joy. A rib or two had probably cracked, and despite the lack of air in his lungs, he smiled sheepishly.

"Woah! Please let me go…" Dick said timidly, now suffocating, "I can't… breathe."

She realized her mistake and quickly let go. Dick greedily inhaled some fresh air, then glared when he heard Wally laughing his head off. All eyes went to Wally, and he stopped laughing immediately.

Wally cleared his throat. "Uh, hi. I'm Wally West. A good friend of Dickie here," he said, poking Dick's forehead with a finger, making the latter scowl in irritation. Wally was going to make him miserable now, wasn't he?

"Oh, it is wonderful to meet you. I am Starfire of the Teen Titans," she said with a friendly smile.

Wally grinned at her. "I know you guys—the heroes of Jump City. You guys are pretty big here," he answered matter-of-factly.

Dick nodded along with him, donning the role of an excited fan. "Yeah, and I can't believe you still remember me after so long… I'm kind of honored."

Behind his back, Dick shook his fist as a warning for the speedster to shut it, still smiling innocently at the Titans. Dick knew Wally, and he knew that the redhead was smiling mischievously behind him like an idiot.

"Don't sweat it, dude," Cyborg said, waving his mechanical arm dismissively, "It's only been a week or so since we met anyway."

"Yeah, but what are Teen Titans doing in the park?" Dick asked. Though he already knew the reason– Cyborg had told him earlier as Robin that they would all go downtown to relax– he had to keep up his "surprised to see heroes" fan appearance.

Starfire was the one who answered. "We are here to have the day of relaxation. The amount of criminals has vastly decreased this week and we have decided to spend the day in the form of the team bonding!"

Then, Raven finally spoke in her usual monotone voice, "And Robin couldn't be here because he's busy finishing up with some case in our tower. I'm forced to look after these three." Beast Boy had silently protested at Raven's choice of words, but she paid no mind to him.

Dick couldn't help but smile just a bit wider at the excuse Raven had come up for him. When he met up with Wally, he realized that he had neglected to tell the others that he'd be gone for a while to do 'something'. He was grateful that Raven was there to fix that mistake.

"So wait, is your name actually Dick?" Beast Boy asked after a moment of hesitation, unsure if it was a rude thing to say or not.

Dick laughed at his question nonetheless. "It's a nickname. My real name is Richard, but my friends call me Dick," he answered.

Cyborg and Beast Boy both nodded their heads in understanding. But something seemed to click in the resident half-robot's head, and his human eye widened.

"No wonder you looked sorta familiar," he said, and Dick wasn't sure how to respond to that until, "You're Dick Grayson, right? The ward of Bruce Wayne? I saw you in the news a few years ago."

Bowing his head like a gentleman, he replied, "The one and only."

That's when Beast Boy's eyes lit up. "Dude!? Not only are you from Gotham, but you're also one of those rich kid-Gothamites too!?" he exclaimed, jaw hanging open at the revelation.

Wally was laughing again, and Dick wanted to be anywhere but here. The way Beast Boy spoke to him reminded him of when they first met. He covered Wally's mouth to shut him up, but the speedster continued laughing, just muffled.

Sensing that he didn't want to talk about this anymore, Raven intervened, "We should probably leave them alone. Though, it was nice seeing you again," she said with a nod of her head, voice still monotonous.

Dick sighed in relief. Raven was amazing at knowing whether he was done with everything. Starfire and Beast Boy seemed to dislike her idea, however. A plethora of protests sounded from the two. Cyborg had the decency not to join them, while Raven continued to stare at them, looking just as done as Dick felt.

Wally finally piped up, after not saying anything for a while, "Why don't you guys join us? I mean, we were just hanging out and doing nothing much."

Dick stared at him like he grew a second head, then thought about it for a minute. It's not like anything bad could happen, he thought carefully. Wally and the Titans were staring at him with hopeful eyes.

Ah. They were waiting for what he had to say.

He sighed for what felt like the hundredth time today. Even though he wasn't Robin right now, the decisions were still his to make, despite how light this one was.

"If Jump's heroes want to, then sure," he said, a smile creeping up on his face in resignation.

Starfire began clapping her hands and cheering; Beast Boy shouted, "Oh yeah!" and cheered along with Starfire. Cyborg smiled, excited to hang out with the 'civilians' as well. Raven didn't seem to care, but the twitch of her lips was all Dick needed to see to know that she didn't mind spending the day in the park with all of them.

"So, does anyone want to play football?" Wally said, holding a football he definitely didn't have with him a few seconds ago.

The team, sans Dick, didn't seem to notice that. Raven declined, choosing to be the referee instead, even though she held onto a book and was already reading. The rest of the Titans agreed to play with the speedster.

Dick smiled. What was he going to do with these guys?

"Bring it on."

Thank you for making it this far! It looks like Dick's establishing a friendship with the team, despite how he tries to hide as much info. I wonder how this will turn out.

Anyway, reviews are appreciated!
