Chapter 484: The new Arcade.
(Somewhere in Royal Woods.)
School is done for the day and a lot of kids, and preteens have arrived fo the grand reopening of the former Gus' Games n' Grub.
Let's see whose there to check out this place: Lincoln, Linka, Jordan, Clyde, Rusty, Liam, Zach, Tabby, Stella, Simon, Luna, Sam, Sunset Shimmer, Richie, Flat Tire, Jenny, Kick, Gunther, Timmy, Coop, Renee, Paige, Artie, Lance, Trent, Laurence, Allison, Tyler, Jennifer Shope, Manny Rivera, Frida Suarez and for some reason Boomer is there. Why?
There are also a ton of other kids and preteens who all wanna see what's new in the place.
They then see the proud owner of Gus' Games n' Grub, Augustus Gussard the 2nd. A man in his mid-50's, he kinda looks like Mr. Grouse, but he has no mustache and he has hair to his sides and he's not that much in his weight. He's wearing the usual employee's uniform and has the nametag with the name. "Manager."
"Hello everyone, and thank you for coming here today. Now I know some of you have been upset about the closing of Gus', and believe me it hurt to do so as well, but I did it for a good reason and that reason is to reopen the place with the combined arcade from a relative of mine."
"So, without further ado, ladies and gentlemen and kids of all ages behold!" The large sheet is then removed from the help of a protoss probe and everyone sees the newly built arcade/pizzeria. "Gus and Litwak's family fun arcade!"
It look exactly as the same old Gus' Games n' Grub, but bigger. They can see it's three times wider and a little bit taller as well. The sign has the name "Gus and Litwak's family fun arcade" and in neon lights too.
The outside is colored in red, blue and with yellow power up and level up icons on the columns supporting the four corners of the building. There are some posters of the video games they have and the food being served and some new pizza as well.
Everyone goes inside and they see everything has changed. There are more tables and chairs and the front register place has been extended with more than one register and there are tons of games and all of them are games they have never even heard of.
Let's see what the games from Litwak's are: Fix-It Felix Jr, Hero's Duty, Sugar Rush, Undead Apocalypse 3, Tapper, Burger Time, Frogger, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Battlezone, Super Smash Bros, Dig Dug, Paperboy, Street Fighter 2, Agent X, Fatal Assault, Dragon's Lair, Altered Beast, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, District 51, Finish Line, Pong, The Simpsons, Madden, Sonic the Hedgehog, Hoop Jamz, The House of the Dead, Dance, Dance Revolution X2, Dance Central 3, Virtual Cop, Street Fighter and Tron.
Along with the usual games that everyone knew when playing back at Gus' Games n' Grub.
But they're not alone in this, Gus added some new games to make everyone happy: Mortal Kombat 10, Mortal Kombat 11, Crossy Road, Broken Bones, Terminator Salvation, Time Crisis 4, Tekken (whatever the new one is), Teratoma, Ghost Squad, Jurassic Park, Zuma, King of Fighter, The Lost Vikings, Star Wars Fighter pilots and Need for Speed.
And all games are linked to a new kind of Extension cord. This one is made by FutureTech and can hold more than 20 plugs and be able to make sure every electronic plugged in shares the same power. It's called, the Mc-cord. (I blame Martin for that name!)
And as usual, it's connected to the power source of pylon power lines. And of course, the Wi-Fi device is connected to the cord as well. The place has free Wi-Fi and the boss us using his computer to check on some other things he can find to make the place look more fun for the folks in town.
Everyone goes around the place and they all start playing the games the place has to offer.
"Wow! Now this place sure looks awesome! I am so gunning to fly in space!" said Zach.
"You do you man, I got a car to drive!" said Flat Tire.
"Time to see which one of us is an ace in the games people" said Kick.
"Oh, I am so gonna knock you off the score board Kick" said Timmy. "Or better yet, kick you off the score board."
"Then war it is my friends! War!" Gunther grabs Kick and Timmy and he charges to the nearest game they can compete in.
"I'm gonna see what the Terminator game is about, you guys have fun now" said Linka.
Lincoln then looks to Luna. "We're gonna get some tokens and see what we can play, you and Sam gonna be okay here?"
"We're gonna try some games, like dance it out at that game over there and see if we can beat Liam and Tabby" replied Luna.
"Then we're all getting lunch" said Sam. "They got this new bacon and spicy ham pizza, we just need to decide what each of us wants. Now let's get out there and get our game faces on."
"Let's have some wicked cool fun and see if we can be as good to these games we've never seen before!" said Sunset. "So, let's lock, load and game on like a game stream!"
They all split up and check out all the games they have, and they even pass by some other kids who wanna try as well, and at least there are some old fashioned games that Paige has known and loved.
Jenny and Jordan see one game that looks interesting. "Sugar Rush? Looks kinda fun, we should give it a go" said Jenny.
"Surprised no one else chose this game" replied Jordan. They both get on the driver's seat and they see the tons of characters, but Jordan does see the image of this little racer girl at the side of the game and she looks to the characters. "Is one of the racers missing?"
Who is the missing character of the game Sugar Rush? Vanellope Von Schweetz.
Boomer sees the game Crossy Road. "Huh, I think I heard about this from the App store. Never did get the chance to play it." So he plays it, and he is pissed off at losing so many times. (55 times.)
Luna and Sam are busy dancing to the beats of Dance Central 3, against Liam and Tabby.
Trent, Lance, Artie and Richie just stick to getting tickets from the skee ball, the prize wall has been upgraded with some awesome prizes and some of them look like the characters from the games.
Rusty and Zach are playing Hoop Jamz and Clyde is getting his bartending skills on with the game, Tappers. Sunset and Paige are playing House of the Dead.
Lincoln and Coop are shocked when they see a protoss Zealot playing and dominating Pac-man like a boss!
There are so many kids, preteens and faunus folks coming in to play and enjoy the food, and of course protoss come there to see what the place is all about and they are liking it.
Coop and Lincoln then walk around. "So, not planning to date Fiona yet?" asked Lincoln.
"Not at the moment Lincoln, we're both 11 and even though we are motivated to try dating like you and my sister did. We're gonna wait, maybe when we reach to middle school then we can give it a shot" replied Coop.
Lincoln smiles. "Good choice, it's the choice of the couple who wanna make the right thing and knowing you two have the same agenda in mind only means you two are bound to truly spark a relationship from within"
"Yeah, also my first day of school was kinda awesome and I was able to learn some things about protoss history and junk" said Coop. "Didn't know those kinds of lessons are here as well and protoss teachers also."
"The protoss are good citizens of our home and so we must respect each other's choices and equality and so we also wanna know more about the history they have been through and some advanced knowledge such as math and science" replied Lincoln. "What did you learn today?"
"The story of the mysteries of ships disappearing in space, which are actually caused by the Tal'Darim, which was back when they were enemies" replied Coop.
"Good for you to know that one, you're close to knowing more on their history and advancing a bit in classes" replied Lincoln. "I know you can pass it, you seem like the kind of kid who can ace in classes at the good grades level."
Coop then recalls. "Sure wish my friends were here, but they have things to do, maybe I can have them come here tomorrow."
Lincoln wants to tell Coop that they have a plan for his friends Dennis and Fiona to come and possibly go to school there, but he decides not to tell him and let it be a surprise.
Coop then sees a game. "Wanna try this?" The game is Hero's Duty.
Lincoln and Coop insert their tokens. "Game on Coop" said Lincoln. "Let's see who can beat who. The kid who fought an alien Kat from the invasion attempts, or the kid who knows how to fight like hell!"
"Bring it on Spellman!" said Coop, they arm up and they get ready to follow instructions and get ready to shoot some alien monsters and the game begins. "Huh, these bugs remind me of the Zerg. Sorta."
"For some reason they do, almost like the infested swarm!" said Lincoln.
(Later.)
Lincoln and the gang make it to the large table and chairs and they all take their seats. "So, does anyone know what to order?" asked Sam.
They all nod and they place down what they want and they wait for the food to come. "So, are we gonna invite some other friends from across the realms to come and check this place out?" asked Lance.
"Probably" replied Linka. "We have to name down who we want to come here, even though there are some good friendly faces we know and some faces only a few of us aren't comfortable with."
They see Luna looking away from Frida Suarez who is playing alongside her friend Manny Rivera. Yeah, they know she still doesn't like that blue haired pre-teen.
"Well, we can invite Jimmy, Sheen and maybe Carl and even some of my friends back at Dimsdale, Chloe, AJ and Chester, oh and I don't know if I should invite my backup friends" replied Timmy. "Steven Universe isn't gonna be back for some time."
"There are some pals from other worlds, like the leader of the Kid's Next Door Rachel and Abigail Lincoln, but not the rest of their friends" replied Lincoln.
"And let's not forget our friends from Great Lakes City, we do have one epic surprise for them on the 12th of the month" replied Linka.
Luna and Sam chuckle. "And all thanks to Uncle Leon in calling those dudes" said Luna.
Some of them are confused. "What are you guys talking about?" asked Jenny.
Jordan chuckles. "That's gonna be one big surprise to those who wanna come to the Spellman home to see what the big thing is and I can only know that Ronnie Anne and Sid are either gonna scream or faint."
"I could guess it's a song, but who are the ones singing?" asked Paige.
"Oh, I am so gonna wanna come and see what the song is about and maybe we should bring our ladies with us as well" replied Trent, he got a prize for his girlfriend Kat, and that prize is a plush Mrs. Pacman.
Coop is confused as the others are. "So, who the heck are these Great Lake City?"
Boomer then comes and sits onto the chair and he lets his head rest of the table and not look at them. "You okay man?" asked Sunset.
"I don't wanna talk about it" replied Boomer. They all look to the game he played "Crossy Road" and they see the game over sign on it.
"Okay, so I think we know what happened" replied Clyde.
They all enjoy the rest of their fun there at the newly rebuilt arcade and soon more people come and see the place, and some of them greet and show respect and honor to the statue outside.
Outside is a statue of the man who gave Royal Woods this arcade. Outside is the statue of the great and beloved owner of Litwak's Family Fun Center and Arcade on Route 83 down at Los Aburridos, California.
A bronze statue of Stanley "Stan" Litwak and he's smiling and showing everyone the way to the arcade. The statue is to honor the man who let them have this place and his relative will make sure it stays standing and in service for a long time.
But as they all keep playing, the Mc-Cord is sparking a bit, and it sounds like something busy is going on within the place. Like there's some sort of people chattering and talking within. Something's wrong, but what is it?
