Alright, time for the first Chapter! I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did when I was writing it. I don't have much else to say here, other than you guys are in for a treat.
CURRENT UNIVERSE: DANGANRONPA – PRE TRAGEDY!
xxXXxxXXxx
Jolyne groaned, having the headache of a lifetime. As she slowly sat up, the black and pink-haired teen blinked, looking all around her. She was in what she had to assume was a medical office of some kind, judging by the cabinets filled with medicine, the utter amount of IV drips in the corner, the several hospital beds, as well as a small fridge that was open, which contained blood bags.
Either that, or this was a serial killer's basement, but due to how the door was open to show a hallway that looked like a school hallway, what with the other students in uniforms, some mid-stride, just outside, seemed to de-confirm that theory.
Everything seemed to be paused, like that of a video game—which should have been obvious seeing as there were literal people just outside of the room she was in that looked paused, but she digressed. From what she could tell, only she could move.
Jolyne looked out of the corner of her eye and saw a purple-haired teen with uneven bangs seemingly working away at a station, trying to stop things from falling over in front of her. She was wearing a dark brown uniform with an equally dark brown skirt. Her whole right leg was covered in a bandage wrap, whereas her left thigh was the only thing covered by bandages. Her wrist, and possibly her arm, on her left side, was wrapped up as well, and she had a bandage on her right cheek.
The teen in question was frozen in time, everything in front of her so close to falling over, yet unmoving. Even a pen that had been on top of the stack that was so close to falling off was stuck in the air, something that Jolyne noted as she sighed. The pen was close to her, but not close enough to hit her... yet. Even still, when she reached out to grab it, her hand seemed to phase right through it. This caused Jolyne to frown.
"Seems like I can't interact with any—whoa!" Before she was about to continue that sentence, a text box appeared in front of her. The box was blue, and the text was white. In the corners of the box were fancy patterns that looked like some sort of ancient symbols, and the frame was pitch black.
[Welcome! Thank you for installing 'The System – Ver 1.0' into your soul! The Developer, Daimen, would like to personally thank you! Before we can begin on this journey, please select a faction!]
The text box disappeared, and then, three text boxes appeared in front of her with three different options. "Factions? Daimen never mentioned factions?! What the hell does this—" before she could finish her thought, a fourth text box appeared above the other three, which seemed to be darkened out.
[Pick a Faction to then select your class. Depending on the universe you are in, there will be three different factions to pick from, each of which gives you +50 Karma of either Good, Neutral, or Evil when you select them. Manage your Karma from your Side Quests, Character Quests, and Story Quests to keep in line with the Faction you pick, otherwise, you'll leak over into another Faction and will be switched over to that Faction. When picking a Faction, please read carefully, as you will not be able to MANUALLY switch to another Faction at any point. Enjoy!]
As the text box faded into the background, Jolyne sucked in a deep breath, then let it out. "Yeah, no pressure, like, at all!" the black and pink-haired teen spat, the three choices appearing in front of her. Each text box was a different colour—the one to the left was blue, the one in the middle was grey, and the one right was red.
She frowned when seeing the very basic colour coding. "Couldn't Daimen be a bit more creative? He's a Disciple of a God, after all, this is just basic crap! Tch, so much for being creative. Even E.A. would be a bit more creative than this," Jolyne thought, shaking her head, chasing those thoughts out of her mind. "Whatever, Let's just see what we got to pick from."
[Future Foundation (Good Karma): Welcome to the Future Foundation! Our overarching goal is to bring about Hope to the world by rooting out Despair. Our leader, Kyosuke Munakata, The Former Ultimate Swordsman, is suspicious of Hopes Peak and what they're doing, due to how they have recently become progressively shady over the years. It will be your job to seek out what is going on within the school's walls and stop whatever nefarious plan they are up to! It should also be noted that you should try and root out as much Despair as possible on your Journey! Upon joining this Faction, you will receive 50,000 Yen, +5 Atk, +0.5 Crit, and +5 Faith!]
"Interesting, if not pretentious... Also, Yen. It seems I'm in Japan," Jolyne thought, looking over at the walls and seeing one of the banners written in Japanese. "And that all but confirms it. However, that is the least of my concerns. Factions, Jolyne. Don't nerd out because you're in the country of your Dreams. What's next," Jolyne thought, drawing her attention to the option in the middle.
[Neutral Faction (Neutral Karma): Too Much pressure from either Faction? Why not be middle of the row? Do you really want the fate of the world on your shoulders? Do you really want to chant about all this Hope and Despair nonsense? Do you want to live a normal life, or, well, as normal as it can be for you? Pick this Faction! You won't be viewed as an amazing individual or a talented one, but you'd be seen as a regular old, normal, person. Upon joining this Faction, you will receive 50,000 Yen, +5 Def, +0.5 Crit Def, and +5 Luck!]
"A good safety net to fall into, but there's still one more option..." Jolyne thought once more, looking over to the final option.
[World Ender/Remnants Of Despair (Evil Karma): Ever just look at the world and see it as a bland, stupid cesspool of garbage that needs a little spice? A little more chaos? Ever want to just... do whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want? Well, by joining us, you can! Fight for a world where you can do whatever you want, cause as much havoc, death, and Despair as possible, and do so with a smile! Our leader, Junko Enoshima, believes that so long as you spread glorious Despair, you can do whatever it is you want! Suffering is key, but it doesn't have to be yourself. Upon joining this Faction, you will receive 50,000 Yen, +5 Mg Atk, +0.5 Mg Crit, and +5 Charisma!]
"Quite... polarizing, I must say..." Jolyne thought again, cupping her chin. With each option laid out to her, she had a lot to think about.
Each Faction had three different Stats that she could boost, though, even if the idea of having Stats in the first place was mind-boggling, to begin with.
Out of all of the factions, ignoring their causes and reasons for said cause, she had to look at them from a non-biased angle. Going into full gamer mode, she decided to look at things from the basics, and with her knowledge of RPGs, she knew that the most important thing to look at was the stats. Therefore, she saw it best to look at them based on their stats. Starting from the first Faction, and ending with the last one.
The Future Foundation gave her extra Attack, Crit, and faith. These things were good for setting up an offensive build, giving her a headstart to hit things harder, though she had no idea what Faith would do for her. Neutrality gave her extra Defense, Crit Def, and Luck, making her able to tank more hits easier. Basically, if she wanted to be a defensive wall and block most attacks, that would be what she would pick. Then, there was the final option. World Ender or Remnants of Despair, or whatever they wanted to be called, gave her extra Magic Attack, Magic Crit, and Charisma. In other words, if she wanted to be a long-ranged attacker or mage, this would be the best choice for her.
Overall, they all seemed fairly balanced. None of the two gave too overpowered benefits, and each faction gave her the same amount of money, so there was no financial decision. It seemed that picking a Faction was like picking the three main classes, Attacker, Tank, or Ranged. Whenever she played a game like Dark Souls, she liked going for the mage. She hated getting up close in personal fights. But at the same time, she didn't agree with their principles.
She didn't want to be the bad guy, yet those stat increases were so appealing to her. She wasn't going to the Future Foundation, as previously stated. She hated getting up close and personal, not unless she had to. Neutrality seemed intriguing, the defensive buffs were nice, and the luck was nice too.
"This is so hard to choose!" Jolyne thought, biting her lower lip. She had to make a choice. She didn't want to stay on this pause screen for too long, and seeing as she didn't want to get up close and personal, and seeing as she was going to be here for hours if she didn't pick quickly, she decided to fall back on a saying that she and her past family relied on when she was alive. "When in doubt, pick what you're used to."
[World Ender/Remnants of Despair – Selected! Stat changes are now applied!]

Jolyne sighed, her stats screen disappearing. She was glad to have gotten past that. If she had to think about that any longer, she would've started pulling out her hair. As the text boxes disappeared, a new one popped up, much to her annoyance.
"Another one, seriously?" The teen muttered, annoyance spreading across her expression. "This better be good..."
[Congratulations on picking a Faction! Nice choice, coming from a soul that belonged to Heaven, you have a bit of a devious side, don't you! Interesting. Now, let's get to picking a class! Now, with classes, these will be specific to your Faction! Seeing as you have picked World Ender, these are the classes available to you! Pick wisely, as it won't be for a while till you can change your class.]
As soon as the text box disappeared, three more showed up, all with the same red background as the World Ender background. "Only three? That's kind of limiting... oh well, better than only having two or one..." Jolyne muttered, looking over her options.
[Chaos Bringer: As a Chaos Bringer, you pack a punch to those stupid, lame normies! Damage, both physical and magical, does extra damage to those in the neutral category—basically, everyday civilians and reserve course students at Hopes Peak. You will instantly unlock the spell: Water Spears.]
"Ah, I see. Well, now I have expectations. Outside of that, Water Spears sounds neat... whatever, let's see if this pattern continues," Jolyne thought, humming to herself.
[Renegade: As a Renegade, you move at your own pace, and as far as you're concerned, anyone who continues to push forward the status quo should be pushed off a cliff! Damage, both physical and magical, does extra damage to those in the Future Foundation category. In other words, Ultimate Students! You will instantly unlock the spell: Blood Control.]
"Blood Control... is it like Blood Bending in Avatar? If so... that would be pretty busted." Jolyne thought once more, looking over at the final class selection, keeping herself open-minded.
[Heartless: As a Heartless, you truly are a true Despair, doing extra damage to those of your faction, such as Junko Enoshima, Mukuro Ikosaba, and Monaca Towa! You're so much of a Heartless person, that you don't care if they're a part of your faction, they mean nothing to you! You will instantly unlock the spell: Life Webs.]
"Life Webs? What the hell is that? Some sort of health steal attack? Hmm... extra damage to my own faction. It specifically lists these three people, though. Maybe this faction isn't that big. Perhaps they're the underdogs? Hmm... I'll have to look into that," Jolyne thought a small smirk on her face.
Overall, her choices were interesting. All of the classes targeted each of the classes and instantly unlocked a spell for her to use: Water Spears, Blood Control, and Life Webs. Although, if she was going, to be honest with herself, there was only one spell out of the three available that spoke to her. She wasn't going to lie, she was picking this class solely to use that spell. Call her dumb, call her biased, but out of all of the options, it was the most interesting of the group. Though she assumed Life Webs might be equally as interesting, it didn't stop her from picking the class with the more decidedly cruel spell.
[Renegade – Selected! Class Bonus applied – Blood Control: Unlocked!]
[Blood Control – Lv 1: This skill costs 30 Mana to use. Blood Control does damage to the person based on Mg Atk, as most spells do, and takes control over the target in question. Once the user has control over the person, they can manipulate the person's movement using their blood, effectively handing control over to the user. Alternatively, you can control your own blood, but only if it leaves your body. This can also be used for brutal kills and torture.]
"Not what I thought it to be, but still interesting. I wonder what happens when the Spell levels up? If I were to guess, it gets stronger, and the Mana cost lowers. More questions for later, it would seem..." Jolyne stated the text box disappeared before another took its place.
[Now that you have a Class and Faction selected, time will begin to move as it should. From here on out, you cannot pause. You have been added to the Japanese index as a citizen, and as well to the Canadian index as a citizen as well, just in case you want to head back to Canada for whatever stupid reason you might've had to do so. Are you ready? If not, too bad! Let the fun begin!]
As soon as that text box disappeared, time began to move, and as soon as it did, a pen smacked into the side of Jolyne's head. "Ow..." The half-and-half-haired girl muttered, rubbing her right temple as the purplette from before had fallen face-first on the floor, all of her supplies scattering across the floor. Jolyne flinched, scratching the top of her head. "Hey, uh... are you okay?"
The purplette groaned, slowly picking herself up as she quickly attempted to gather her material, the teen going ignored. Jolyne sighed, slowly getting out of the bed. Picking up the pen off the floor, the same pen that bounced off of her head, she tapped the purplette on the shoulder, which caused her to jump back.
"Ah! I'm sorry! I'm really busy right now, I—" the teen began, then suddenly stopped upon looking at her. "Ah! Y-you're awake! Y-You shouldn't be o-out of that bed yet!" The purplette said, putting her pile of junk onto one of the counters and pushing Jolyne back onto her bed.
"H-Hey! What the hell!" Jolyne snapped, causing the purplette to shrink into herself.
"A-Ah! I'm sorry! Please forgive me" The purplette said, causing Jolyne to shake her head, cursing under her breath, sitting on the edge of the bed, watching the purplette with rapt attention. "I-I'll be back in a moment..." the purplette continued, running into a back room. While the nurse, or doctor, or whoever that teen was, was busy doing whatever, Jolyne glanced over to a calendar. It was April 20th, 2014. "Four years after I died... huh, neat," Jolyne thought, crossing her arms. It was clear by all the Japanese in the room that she was clearly in Japan—why Loki's disciple would send her here instead of a place that worshipped Loki was beyond her, but she digressed.
It didn't take long for the purplette to return, dusting off her apron before grabbing a flashlight and shining it in her eyes. Jolyne recoiled, squinting. The purplette hummed to herself, nodding before continuing. "No concussion... Good." The nurse then grabbed the stethoscope from around her neck and pressed it up against Jolyne's chest, around where her lungs would be. "Breath in, please," the nurse asked as Jolyne did as requested. After a rudimentary check, the nurse nodded, then smiled. "Breathing's okay, I didn't hear anything wrong. I already did a blood test when you were... comatose, but otherwise, you're all good!" The nurse said as Jolyne raised an eyebrow.
"Comatose?" The half-and-half-haired teen said, causing the purplette to eep at her sudden talking. "Jeez, she sure is skittish!" Jolyne thought, frowning. "You good, uh...?"
"H-Huh! O-Oh, m-my bad, I'm sorry! I-I'm so rude, I-I should have introduced m-myself first!" The nurse stammered, looking away with disappointment in her eyes. "I-I'm sorry... m-my name is Tsumiki Mikan... The Ultimate Nurse! I... er, y-you're f-from the reserve course, Jolyne Brooks, r-right? W-What h-happened a-anyway?"
"What the hell is the Reserve Course, where the hell am I? That's what I should be asking. But... if I'm to avoid suspicion..." "I... tried to kill myself. I guess that failed," Jolyne lied, but her response definitely garnered a reaction, one of shock, and for the poor purplette to nearly faint.
"W-W-Wha—! Wh- uh, well... It's um... not my p-place to ask, b-but why?" Genuine concern came out of the stuttering girl, which made Jolyne wonder if she had some sort of stammering issue, but that was for later.
"I'd... rather not say," Jolyne replied, earning a nod from the Ultimate Nurse. "Er... can you point me in the direction of the exit. I... I think I should return to class, you know?" the teen asked as Mikan hummed to herself. She looked deep in thought for a moment, before shaking her head.
"Y-Yeah, I-I can do that. F-Follow me," The Ultimate Nurse stammered, walking out of the nurse's office, Jolyne following close behind. As they walked, Jolyne looked down at herself and smiled. A part of her was worried that her clothes had been swapped out for a hospital gown, but that had not been the case, as it seemed. Then again, she would've been asked to change into her clothes if she had been, but that was beside the point. Currently, Jolyne was wearing just what she had picked out in that void; that being a black hoodie, white tights, red socks, and black shoes. She had to assume that underneath her clothing were her underwear and bra, otherwise, that would be concerning.
As the pair walked down the hallway and to the exit, they passed by several students. Not many of them caught her attention. All except for one. The student in question was a giant, white-haired, tan-skinned behemoth of a woman wearing what Jolyne could only assume to be the school's uniform, that being the same uniform that Mikan wore. She was built like a brick shit house, and she was covered in scars- the signs of a pro fighter. "HOLY SHIT. That girl looks like she was ripped straight out of BAKI!" Jolyne thought, an amazed, yet slightly concerned, expression coating her face. At that moment, she activated CHECK. Just like the description of the spell said, time slowed down to an absolute crawl. She stared at the girl in question, and then a stat screen appeared by the right of her head.
Name: Sakura Ogami/The Orge (Nickname)
Level: 150
HP: 50,000
Stamina: 5000
Mana: Null
Faction: Neutral
Sakura Ogami, the Ultimate Martial Artist, The Strongest Human alive. Don't confuse her for The Strongest Creature alive, which will forever belong to Yushiro Hanma (You're lucky he ain't in this universe).
And since she was here, Jolyne looked over to Mikan and used CHECK on her, too, just to see what the nurse was packing in terms of stats.
Name: Mikan Tsumiki/Trashy Skank (Nickname given by: ?)
Level: 24
HP: 1,000
Stamina: 500
Mana: Null
Faction: Neutral
Lacking in... pretty much every positive emotion that revolves around herself, Mikan Tsumiki is a wreck of a human being. Don't give her a needle. She will stab you with it—injured or otherwise.
"Both of these people are extremely weird, but Sakura is the most dangerous of the two. Still, their both higher level than me. I can't see the rest of their stats, but I can only assume that they would destroy me. If I ever plan on defeating them, I'm going to have to get stronger. Well... that is if they pose a threat to me in the near future, that is..."
Time resumed its normal speed as Jolyne followed Mikan closely, giving Sakura a passing glance, the stronger of the two seemingly not noticing her. The walk was silent, seeing as no one commented on her appearance in the building, and once they made it to the exit, Mikan turned to the half and half-haired teen, bowing. "This is the exit, uh... the reserve course building is just t-to the right of here... y-you can't miss it. H-Have a good day Brooks-san!"
Jolyne simply nodded, walking out of the building with a small frown on her face. Passing through the double doors, she was greeted with a rather nicely designed exterior. A fountain, a stone pathway, some nicely done shrubbery, and a sign that pointed to the different buildings on the campus.
"Just as Mikan said, The Reserve Course building is to the right. I can see it from here," Jolyne thought, frowning. The building in question was a giant brown, flat-top building with what appeared to have three floors, a roof with a metal fence, and a couple of benches. "Well, from one building to another, I guess."
Just before she could move another step, the whole world turned greyscale again, and a text box appeared in front of her. "Again!?"
[HALT! I forgot to mention something! You have an inventory. In your inventory is your school uniform, as well as your wallet, which contains your money. To access it, all you have to do is put your hand in your pocket, and snap your fingers. If you decide to change outfits, do so out of everyone's sight. Thankfully, no one is around. To change outfits, simply select the clothing options, and they will automatically be swapped out with what you're wearing currently. You should do that, now.]
The text box disappeared, and suddenly, another box appeared in front of her. The box in question was the same colour as the text boxes—deep red—and it had a scroll-down menu, kinda like Oblivion, but outside of that, everything was sorted. There was no weight system, so in other words, her inventory worked like a bottomless bit.
"Neat..." Jolyne muttered, selecting her school uniform, that being a brown blazer with a red tie, dark brown skirt, black stockings, and black shoes. Everything else went right into her inventory. She let out a deep sigh, shaking her head before whisking the inventory away, the world turning back to normal.
If she had to state her opinion on the uniform, she'd call it boring. She still had no idea what an Ultimate was, but she assumed it was some sort of privileged position. Seeing as she was decidedly NOT an Ultimate, she felt a tad bit annoyed. Though, in her opinion, that would probably be rectified soon. Walking towards the Reserve Course building, she paid no mind to any of the other students who were openly looking at her, small whispers sprouting up here and there. As she got closer to the building, she saw someone out of the corner of her eye that caught her interest.
They had blond hair, and greenish eyes, and, for some reason, they were glaring at her. Was it because of her hair? She didn't see a reason why this stranger, whom she knew nothing about, was glaring at her. That's when it hit her, and the realization annoyed her to her core. She was considered a 'Gaijin.' in Japan, the citizens, especially back when she was alive, did not like foreigners. Some people were more accepting of them, some tolerated them, but a majority of the population despised them. Something about Xenophobia or some shit Jolyne did not give two fucks about.
Although, she assumed that caring about it now would do her some good. Seeing as one of those aforementioned xenophobic people was openly glaring at her for her mere presence. "Best to ignore it for now..."
Unfortunatly for Jolyne, she couldn't keep her annoyance at being glared at hidden for longer than a second. As a result, Jolyne met the blonde's glare with a glare of her own. As soon as she did that, the blonde snarled at her. "The fuck?" Jolyne thought, shaking her head. That was when a dinging noise made itself known, and something off in the corner of her vision appeared.
It was another text box. But it was different. It was labelled "Quest."
Main Story Quest
[Hit List - Prologue]
Description: You've brought upon the anger of one Natsumi Kuzuyru, sister to the heir of the Kuzuyru Clan. This means that you will end up a target for her ruthless mocking and harassment. She has a particular hatred for you, seeing as you are not Nationally Japanese, hell, not even half Japanese. In other words, you're gonna have to show her that you're no push-over, and that, just because you're a Gaijin, you can and will kick her ass.
Quest: Defeat Natsumi Kuzuyru. Make her look like a fool. Use your newest spell if you have to. Do NOT kill her.
Rewards: + 1 Karma (Neutral), 250 Exp, 50 Yen, + 1 Gacha Token
"Oi! You! Rainbow-haired bitch!" The titular Natsumi Kuzuyru shouted, catching Jolyne's attention. A few people in the crowd looked in their direction, some of them muttering like a fight was about to happen. Well, it was. Just not one either of them had been expecting. The teen simply stared at Natsumi, an uninterested look in her eyes, shifting herself in a way to look annoyed.
"What do you want? Also, I only have two colours in my hair. Not a whole rainbow. You colour blind or something?" Jolyne said, using CHECK to see what it was she was up against.
Name: Natsumi Kuzuryu
Level: 5
HP: 250
Stamina: 125
Mana: Null
Searching for a way to become an Ultimate Student, this blonde nuisance will do damn near anything to get the attention of the Steering Committee, even if it means sabotaging other Ultimates.
CHECK de-activated, causing Jolyne to frown. Level 5, and she was only going to 250 Exp out of this? Maybe she'd get more for actually defeating her. Dropping her health down to 0 was out of the question. That would kill Natsumi. But the quest never said that bringing her to near-death wasn't out of the question.
"THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY, YOU STUPID GAIJIN!" The blonde growled, reaching behind her back, and pulling out a switchblade. Then, she charged at Jolyne. That was when the whole crowd started to pay attention, including a silver-haired teen with glasses.
When the blonde got into arm's length, Jolyne side-stepped the attempted stabbing and immediately shoved her knee into the blonde's stomach, forcing her to gasp and spit up saliva. A hit-point counter above Natsumi's head flashed once the blow connected, letting Jolyne know just how much damage she had done to the blonde, that being 5 health points.
"Only five damage? Well, she is 4 levels ahead of me. So my physical attacks aren't going to do too much," Jolyne thought, paying attention to the fight at hand. She didn't want to use her magic unless she absolutely had to. The blow made Natsumi drop the knife, disarming her. The blonde staggered back, coughing as she did so. Jolyne took this chance to punch the blonde in the face, knocking her back again, resulting in another 5 damage being dealt with the blonde
In response, Natsumi punched Jolyne, catching the teen off guard, a sharp pain soaring through her face as she stumbled backward. "SHIT! That fucking hurt!" As soon as that thought faded, her health bar popped up in the corner of her eye, showing that the attack had done 15 points of damage, leaving Jolyne with 35 Hp.
"HOLY FUCKING—Nope! Not gonna let that happen again!" Jolyne thought, staggered back as Natsumi wiped the side of her mouth. "You bitch. I'll make you pay for touching me like that!" The blonde growled, rushing Jolyne again, refusing to give her a moment of respite.
The blonde ran straight into Jolyne, winding the half and half-haired teen. Thankfully, however, she was able to brace for the blow, putting up a guard, and reducing the damage that would've been done by half. Jolyne looked at her health bar and cursed mentally. 27.5 Hp left. "Why am I not regenerating health? Is it because I'm in active combat?!"
"Yes. Yes, it is precisely because of that."
"HUH?! You can talk outside of text boxes?!"
"You asked an important question. I am supposed to answer. Now, I suggest getting your head back in the game, otherwise—"
The System was cut off by another heavy blow being done to Jolyne's gut, making her spit up blood from the hit, reducing Jolyne's health to 12.5
"That will happen. I suggest using a spell, Jolyne."
She really, really didn't want to. But one more solid hit from Natsumi and she would be done for. She wasn't going to die because of some stupid xenophobe. That much was for certain. Jolyne growled, recoiling from the attack. Just before Natsumi could land another attack, Jolyne's eyes flashed a bright green, making Natsumi hesitate. That was her fatal flaw, and the deciding factor of this fight, as a black aura covered the half-and-half-haired teen.
Gasps filled the area as the silver-haired teen who had been watching from a distance stared with rapt attention, if not out of caution, thinking back to a classmate of hers. "What is going on? Is this girl a Chunibyo like Gundam? Is there some sort of gas canister on her back to make this look like a spectacle?" The girl thought, crossing her arms.
However, that train of thought was quickly washed away when the puddle of blood the girl coughed up began to ripple. Normally, she'd see it as vibrations due to the walking, but no one was. Sure, Young master's sister was stomping towards the teen who had insulted her, but that wasn't what caused it. The ripples were abnormal. They weren't being generated by the vibrations of the blonde's movement, they acted completely on their own.
And then, something truly insane happened. The blood that belonged to the gaijin that Natsumi was fighting began to form spikes. The silver-haired teen had to blink to make sure she wasn't seeing things.
She wasn't. And what happened next all but confirmed it.
"BLOOD CONTROL!"
As soon as the gaijin spoke those words. Blood Control. The spikes shot up and stabbed Natsumi in the back. More blood spewed from the attack, and joined the spikes, stabbing her in the back as well. The spikes retracted from Natsumi, as soon as they did, the half and half-haired teen punched Natsumi in the lower jaw with a devastating uppercut.
Jolyne panted as Natsumi fell to the ground with 3 HP left. The mage could feel her HP regenerating, any wounds that she might have had ceasing as spikes of blood melted away into normal blood. It was then that she looked around and saw thousands of eyes staring at her. Said eyes belonged to the reserve course students who had been standing around, deciding to either skip class or were on their way to the next one, and all of their eyes were wide.
And that was when she realized that she had used magic in front of a bunch of magicless people. The bell for lunch rang out, to add more annoyance to Jolyne's situation. But to make things even more annoying...
