To those who know this. Then you all know what this is about. This all takes place after the events of "Spell Luck" Where we now see how the lives of the former louds are, as they soon become something they did not expect to see coming, a hero group known as the Royal Defenders. This was originally made on 6/25/2019.

501. Chapter 501

Spells and Louds.

Chapter 501: Goodbye for now.

Based off the last parts to the RWBY Season 7.

(Somewhere on the outskirts of Mantle.)

Within the wreckage of the Atlas transport, Robyn Hill is unconscious, and Qrow just had a fight against his Ace Operatives leader Clover and also against the criminal and delusional servant of Salem, Tyrian Gallows.

But the fight went into a cluster of pure confusion and nobody knew who fought who, Tyrian on the other hand relished every moment of each fight like the madman he is, then in the heat of the fight, it all ended with Tyrian ended the life of Clover with the weapon of Qrow.

Now Clover lies badly wounded in the chest and Tyrian drops the weapon of Qrow, now marked with the blood of the fallen Ace Operative leader. Which means, the whole thing looks like Qrow is the one who killed Clover.

"I'll kill you!" yelled Qrow.

Tyrian chuckles. "Like how you killed Clover?" Then they hear the sounds of engines from the distance. "Ah. Here they are, right on time" But then he sees, those are not Atlas aircraft, they were something else and these aircraft fly for Mantle and begin their attack on the Grimm. "What? What is this?"

Then someone drops behind Tyrian. "Knock, knock bitch!"

Tyrian tries to strike at the man, but he gets countered by the green haired guys scythe and he continues to attack. Qrow wants to go to the fight, but then he sees a dropship land and coming out is Gwen.

She goes to Clover's body and two combat medics create a safeguard shield onto the man. "He needs to be healed, fast!" said Gwen. She's handed to injections and she plants them onto Clover's shoulders and they begin to inject the nano-healers.

"The nano-healers have never healed anyone with an aura before, this could be a while. Someone check on Robyn, now!"

The troops go over and they help the new leader of Mantle. They then bring her to the dropship where she sees Qrow is looking at Clover and the injury he got and she sees his sword with the blood of the man. "Qrow…. What happened?"

Qrow has tears and he looks to Tyrian who is fighting someone, that was enough to answer Robyn and she wants to fight him, but she's a bit sore from the crash and from whatever hit her in the head.

Qrow watches as Clover is healed and Tyrian is trying to kill the other guy. The man he's trying to kill is Boomer. "Come on crook, is that the best you got?" Boomer ducks down and he kicks Tyrian in the chin. "I've seen better handling from a 12 year old and his twin sister, you're no challenge. You're weak and you'll always will be!"

Tyrian yells and tries to go after him. But he keeps missing an each time he misses, Boomer lands a punch to his face, gut or shoulder, and then he grans the robotic scorpion tail and knocks him to the ground. "Slow, feeble and no motivation. I wonder what would happen if Salem asked how you killed someone and failed."

Tyrian yells and is now rabid and he pierces Boomer in the chest with his tail and snickers, but then Boomer grabs the tail and looks to Tyrian and the deranged man is shocked. "Dude, don't you know. I can't fucking die!"

He then sees the radiation liquid oozing from Boomer's body and melting his robotic scorpion tail. Tyrian tries to break free, but Boomer grans the tail and with his scythe, he slices the tail off and pulls it out of him. "Hmm, I think I'll keep this. The perfect trophy before I come back for the real deal!"

Tyrian tries to flee from Boomer, but then Gwen fires two arrows and they have chains on them and they strike on Tyrian's right shoulder and Boomer grabs the chains and pulls the man towards him. "Get over here!"

Tyrian is now face first to the man of toxic destruction. Boomer then looks up and sees tons of dropships are headed for Mantle and Atlas and beginning the evacuation of the locations. "Well, well. Looks like there is hope for those to survive and flee from the madness."

Boomer then looks to Tyrian. "And I think it's time for you to also get the fuck outta here!"

Qrow is shocked to hear this. "What?! You're just gonna let him go?!"

"I am, but only to show Salem that all of her servants are too easy to break. But do not fear Qrow Branwen, when the time is right, either one of us gets the head of Tyrian Gallows. But, I think I need another trophy!"

Boomer then uses his scythe and he impales the left shoulder of Tyrian and the man screams in pain, then he sees where the tail connects to Tyrian. "This is gonna hurt, like a lot."

Boomer grabs onto the tail connecting and he begins to pull, and with one heave the robotic scorpion tail is ripped off and Tyrian shrieks from the tremendous pain and he begins to bleed where his tail once was.

Tyrian struggles to get up, but then Boomer grabs him and looks to the dropship. "Fire the missile!" The dropship locks onto the city of mantle and fires a missile and at the same time Boomer tosses Tyrian and the missile hits him and he's sent flying back to Mantle, with a boom! And right onto a bunch of Grimm.

"He'll live." Boomer then looks to Qrow. "We need to get you guy's outta here. Same with Clover, but we're gonna need to send him back to his team, soon. But not yet, not now."

Robyn nods and she goes into the dropship with Gwen and the combat medics with the badly wounded Clover.

Boomer is then stopped by Qrow. "What did you do?"

Boomer tosses him his sword with the blood of Clover. "Clean that thing, so the next time the blood on it is from Tyrian. Now, let's get going."

Qrow watches as they go into the dropship, but he too follows and goes into the aircraft and they take off for Mantle to see what other help they can do.

"This is Gwen, what's everyone's status?"

Carol: The Allied Naval base has been setup and one of the Black Tortoise naval platforms have arrived and the people are being given some places to stay for the time being. Becky is doing all she can to heal the wounded.

Though, some of the folks from Mantle wanna rejoin the fight and take down the grimm, we have no clue what to do at this point with so many people who wanna fight back.

Leon: The frontline forces are entering the city and we're pushing through the Grimm with minimal casualties, but there are some civilians still trapped in the area and we need support down here. Holy shit! Now that is a mammoth! Everyone kill it!

Martin: Support on the way, we got tons of shit flying around and they are so annoying. Glad we got fighters and anti-air weapons. We need to make a barrier and keep the Grimm at bay. Victor, how is the Iron Curtain and Nano-Swarm hive?

Victor: Would you wait? It's not easy trying to get both super weapons operational. Give me a moment!

Autobot Hound: We got hostiles coming from the north and we're taking heavy fire! We got Grimlock and the Dinobots doing heavy work and tons of shit is going on! This is the best fight I ever had and I still got more ammo in me! Woohoo!

Penny: Everyone, I found….. Found my dad. He wants to help as well, and also speak to all of you about the situation and I ran into some….. Some good old friends too. But I'm not with them anymore, I'm inbound to the Winter Maiden's chamber! Anyone wanna join me?

Luna and Dana: Inbound!

Lincoln: Everyone, listen up. We got hostiles inbound, Scouts have reported a large Grimm creature headed to Atlas and it's gonna be here soon, everyone is being evacuated and there are still more stragglers and we need to make sure the relic is secured and the same with the Winter Maiden.

"We all know what to do and we all know what we're up against. We haven't had any word from Gyro since we got here and we need to make sure that this land does not falter to the might of Salem and her Grimm. Hold the line, finish the job and let's end this madness.

Penny, Luna and Dana, Head to the Winter Maiden and keep her safe, chances one of you will be given the powers she has.

Linka, Jack Cyber and Victor, meet up with the huntresses and huntsman and help them get to their objectives and don't start arguing.

Peter Sharp and Jordan, head to the chamber of the relic and make sure it's kept safe and secure it with the new tech, and if General Ironwood is there….. Incapacitate him. If he keeps resisting, hurt him.

Everyone else, get out there and show the Grimm whose boss and save anyone who hasn't been evacuated from the city of Mantle and Atlas and someone stop Atlas from taking off! The General has lost his mind and is nothing more than a maniac.

Jordan: We're inbound, and I think we heard a gunshot. The man who declared martial law is there.

Gwen sighs hearing this. "Stay safe everyone. This is Gwen, we're inbound to the city and we got a wounded man here." They then fly towards the city, accompanied by Protoss Phoenix fighters.

Qrow looks to them. "Penny? You mean the android Penny? She's here?"

"It's a long story man" replied Boomer. "And I got me a ride." He then steps to the door of the dropship.
"See you all at Mantle." He jumps off from the dropship.

Gwen, Qrow and Robyn look outside and they see Boomer riding one of the fling Grimm and he's using his scythe to the head to maneuver it. "Turn! Turn!"

"That man is insane" said Robyn.

(Chamber of the Relic.)

General Ironwood had just shot Oscar/Ozpin, but in truth, he's fine and unharmed. Then James Ironwood hears someone coming and he sees him.

A man in a cowboy looking attire and a big sword on his shoulders that is calibrating into a hammer, and then an axe and it keeps morphing into different large guns and melee weapons. Peter Sharp.

"So, this is the relic I was told about? Doesn't seem much, but I heard it is special and has to be kept safe and you must be coward sir, abandon-man? Man, you look crazy in the head. I mean, the goatee and that crazed look in the eyes. Looks like Salem got to ya good, and now look at what has happened."

General Ironwood stands between Peter and the relic. "You're no huntsman, are you?"

Peter chuckles. "Huntsman? No, no. Call me, a Royal Defender and right now you're in my way to that relic there. As you see, I was sent here to make sure it's safe and so as the people of Mantle. As of now, the Allied forces, which are the same ones who fought to defend Haven are doing all they can and are lowering the number of Grimm coming to the city."

"Something you couldn't do, because you're scared. What the hell happened to the Great Fearless General Ironwood I was told about? Where is he?"

General Ironwood did not like what this man was talking to him about. "You are trespassing and I'm gonna have to ask you to leave now."

Peter sighs. "Didn't think it had to come to this. Oh well." He then slams his weapon, Blood Crucible to the ground and it reconfigures to look like the same scythe from Ruby and merged with the one from Qrow. "It's not just a gun!"

The two men then square off and continue to fight. While Jordan sneaks by them with her Indoraptor and she scans the relic. "Okay, so we don't have the Winter Maiden's powers for this job. We're just gonna have to lock it down."

She then places a device with the logo of FutureTech and it locks down the relic with a powerful barrier, which General Ironwood now notices. "No! What have you done?!" He tries to shoot her, but then the shot is deflected by Peter.

"Our dance ain't over boy. Let's dance!" He charges forward and the two fight again.

Jordan then watches them fight and she injects the locker and code vault access virus into the barrier. "Guys, the barrier is up and only Martin and/or Jack Cyber can be able to get into it, then once we saved and secured the Winter Maiden, then we can be able to take and keep the Staff of Creations safe. I doubt Arthur Watts can hack something as strong as the ingenious tech of McKenzie. Also, Peter is fighting off Ironwood. What's the status on the Winter Maiden?"

Luna, Dana and Penny: We're working on it!

Jordan then looks to Ironwood and Peter fighting and she hops on her Indoraptor. "Well boy, time to kick ass!" The dinosaur roars and also joins the fight, with its Vulture Bike armor.

(Room of the Winter Maiden.)

Winter is left, to go face-to-face with someone they all thought who died. Cinder Fall and boy does she look pissed off!

Winter is knocked off the building and Cinder flies back into the chamber, but then someone catches Winter. "Are you Alright ma'am?"

Winder is shocked to see who it is. "P-Penny? H-How? I thought that you…"

"Died? That's a long story, right now we have the Winter Maiden to save." Penny flies towards the building with Luna and Dana following and soon Lincoln flies to their direction while riding his Netherdrake Nel'Thorious.

They make it to the outer areas of the chamber and they see a large pillar of glowing ice coming out of the chamber of the Crystal Maiden. "What is that?" asked Penny.

"That's the power of the Winter Maiden." Winter then goes to the pillar and tries to go inside, but she gets hurt from the very touch of the air from the icy wind pillar. "It's too cold. We have to do something."

Penny looks to her hands and then she sees Luna and Dana stand next to her. "We're with you Penny. Gyro told us we can survive what the Winter Maiden has, and only one of us is destined to take the power" said Dana.

"Let's get in there and take down the fire bitch!" said Luna.

Penny nods, they then race towards the frozen cold winded pillar and go in. Winter is shocked seeing this. "What are you all doing?!"

"Don't worry, Winter Schnee" replied Lincoln as he stands next to her. "They got this."

Within the pillar of icy winds, Penny, Dana and Luna look around and they help Penny get her leg free from the ice. "Dang it! This place is colder than I am, and how am I even alive from this?" asked Dana.

Luna sighs. "Not an issue for me, feels like the frozen winds of Icecrown itself, with a dash of Siberian winter."

They then see her, Fria, the winter maiden who is ready to pass away, and as of now has used her full power to fend off Cinder and her evil chances to get to her powers.

Penny goes forward and she touches the leg of the floating elderly woman and she looks to Penny, Luna and Dana and she can sense the powers of ice within the two and the aura of the android.

"Are you okay?" asked Penny.

Fria looks around. "I had a job to do, I was supposed to protect the power of the Winter Maiden, until I was ready." She then looks to the three teens. "I worry that they may have lost track of time, but you can all tell James, that I am ready, now."

Penny lets go of her and with Dana and Luna they take a few steps back. Penny then speaks. "Ma'am, if you do that…."

"I'll be gone" replied Fria. She then looks to Penny. "I know I have a hard time remembering, but I remember that." She then floats back down and Penny manages to go to her and see if she's alright. With her down, the icy wind pillar is gone.

"Dudes, I don't think she has time to make it, not anymore at least" replied Luna.

Fria shivers and feels as if it's time, she then opens her eyes and looks to the orange haired girl. "What's your name?"

"It's Penny, ma'am."

Fria smiles a bit. "Penny… Are you, the one?" Penny is shocked to hear this and so is Luna and Dana and they look around and it seems the area is coated in an icy wall, which means Lincoln and Winter can't get to them, unless they can break the ice wall down.

Penny has no clue what else to say, but she sees Luna and Dana nod. They now see, that this is not their destiny to choose, and that it was meant for the android. "I… I…"

Then a part of the ice wall breaks and coming through is one pissed off Cinder. Luna and Dana get ready to fight her. "She's mine!"

Cinder launches her Grimm arm at them, Penny keeps Fria safe and Luna and Dana freeze the Grimm arm and coming in to slice it off is Winter Schnee and then Lincoln sends an ice blast to freeze Cinder's feet.

Cinder then shrieks in pain as her Grimm arm regenerates and now she's filled with way more rage than anything and she goes after Winter and Lincoln with every fire sword she can hurl at them. "Lincoln!" Luna makes an ice barrier to keep him safe and she too tries to fend off Cinder Fall.

But with all the grimm claw strikes and her fiery sword attacks, she manages to cut and do tons of damage to Winter, Luna manages to hold her own and she lunges forward and she kicks Cinder in the gut and then grabs her hair and tosses her to Lincoln who hits her in the right leg with Sky Striker and she hits the wall.

Cinder gets back up and is still angry. How is she not down yet?!

Dana goes over to check on Fria and she sees Penny hold the old woman's hand and an aura link is made, she knows what this means. "It's happening."

They then hear Neil on communications. "Guys, we're inbound to your position. What's your status?"

"One very pissed off grimm lady and a whole lot of bad attitude to boot!" said Lincoln as he fires some ice rounds and then activates his protoss barrier for protection.

Cinder then knocks Winter away to the wall, and then she readies to fight Luna and Lincoln, but then they see a snowflake and another and another and they all look to where it's coming from and this angers Cinder.

"Winter!" They all see Weiss and Ruby have arrived and the sight of Cinder is enough to anger Ruby Rose.

Cinder tries to show off her fire to scare them, but then she sees Ruby and her eyes bring fear into her and then it's too late. Ruby uses her silver eyes and this makes Lincoln, Luna and Dana turn away from it.

With the bright light gone, Ruby goes to her knees to take a breather and they see that Cinder Fall has fled from the scene and then Weiss goes to her sister. "Winter."

Winter slowly sits up. "What did you do?"

They then look to Penny, whose eyes are now glowing with green fire. "No freaking way" said Lincoln.

Penny then goes over and she checks on Fria and she sees Dana looking to Dana with saddened eyes, which means only one thing. Penny cries as she knows this.

Ruby goes to her friend. "Penny, what happened?"

"Sh-she's…. Gone" replied Penny. "She's gone."

"No." They all look to Winter, who is being treated by Lincoln with a first aid kit. "She's a part of you now."

Luna goes wide eyed. "Penny, you're the new Winter Maiden. An android with the Winter Maiden powers. Gyro was right, only one of us would get the powers and keep them safe, and that was you."

Lincoln sighs. "When destiny throws us on the path, sometimes we either stray from it, or we take the path." He then looks to Penny. "And you're on the right path, Polendina."

Lincoln then uses his comlink. "Everyone, the Winter Maiden's powers are secure. The original one is….. She's gone."

Everyone hears this and is saddened to know of it.

Carol at the Naval Black Tortoise with Tadashi, Soundwave and Loona.

Leon, Sergei, Hound and Neil in the city fighting the Grimm hear this.

Martin, Sam, Victor, Boomer and Gwen hear this, and so does Qrow and Robyn.

Jordan hears this and she sighs. She then triggers the security system on the barrier keeping the Staff of Creation and she looks to Peter Sharp who is tying up an unconscious and badly bruised General Ironwood and he even has a bite mark on his robotic arm from Dominic.

"Everyone get ready to take off, we're leaving now!" Lincoln then turns off the comlink. He then looks to Winter who is now sitting up against the wall. "We should go now, right?"

Winter sighs. "I know you're all not going to surrender, so I suggest you should leave now."

"No. I am not leaving you Winter!" said Weiss. "You're hurt."

"You're not leaving me!" said Winter, she has a few tears in her eyes. "I'm giving you a head start." She then uses her comlink to contact someone. "This is Special Operative Schnee in need of Medical assistance. Send…. Reinforcements, over."

They all understand what she means. "We all have to carve out our own life" said Weiss.

The hole in the wall is blasted and got bigger, then they see the dropship with the huntresses and one is a dropship with Boomer. "Guys!" said Yang. "You're all….." She sees the state everyone is in.

"We need to go" said Ruby. They all get up and take their leave. Weiss takes one last look at her sister before going.

Winter watches as all of them leave, for somewhere else.

(Moments later, Remnant's Black Fortress.)

Everyone there is being told that Mantle is still being secured and that all front line forces are pushing Grimm out.

Martin looks to the mainland of Mantle. "This is almost as worse as Veil. Damn!" He then goes back to the others and sees the folks are being brought into ships to head for the mainland's of Remnant and find refuge with the White Fang forces stationed there with an Allied base.

"Some of the folks are asking to come to where we came from" said Jack Cyber. "The White Fang troops told them about our world and how peaceful it is there, Fauns and people and other beings."

"There's plenty of homes for them to stay in and they can also reside in Great Lakes City" replied Linka. "That could remind them of Mantle, but without that idiot General Ironwood."

"Ironwood's not stupid" said Qrow. "He just lost it and needs help and a reason to see things differently. He's also… Scared."

"That does sound like a good reason, but the main issue is getting half of our forces without getting a beat down from his own troops" replied Victor. "We got Grimm trying to fight us off and the Atlas air force trying to breach our defenses and get our troops out of the fight. So, yea that does sound scared to me!"

They see some Atlas aircraft trying to bomb the Black Tortoise, but they can't because of the Energy barrier. Boomer then asks. "Are you trying to be sarcastic?" Luna then freezes him. "What the hell?!"

Dr. Pietro Polendina then walks towards him, well to the fact he can't walk he uses his truly awesome four-legged walker wheel chair to go to Martin. "Sir, I wanna thank you for restoring Penny, and also giving her some new add-ons and it really does suite her well."

"It was a pleasure sir" replied Martin. "I did my best to raise her as if she were my own child." They both see Penny looking to the city of Atlas and doesn't look happy. She looks to her hands and sighs.

"So, what do we do now?" asked Becky. They all look to Penny who then looks to all of them.

"Everyone, I may not be the leader to the Royal Defenders. But I think the best option, is for all of you to leave. Now."

They all look to her confused. "What?" asked Leon.

"She's not wrong!" Gyro comes back and lands down in his raven form and is wounded. "We have to leave, now!" He has lots of burns, scars and cuts and his cloak is missing. "Fuck! Everything hurts so much!"

They all go to him and see if he's alright. "Guardian, what happened?" asked Neil.

"Salem…. She's here and I… I fought her like a demon would do!" Gyro then spits out his Fel blood. "I fought her with everything I've got! She's as strong as the gift and curse those fucking gods gave her! When those gods come back here, I am gonna fuck them so hard for making Salem like this!"

Gyro gets up and looks to all of them. "We have to leave, our job here is done and the front line forces will remain in aiding push the Grimm back. Well, help them in Mantle, but not in Atlas. Is the Staff of Creation safe and secured?"

Jordan nods. "The only ones who can bring the barrier down, are those who know FutureTech and that would be the man who made the barrier."

"Me" replied Martin. "We have to leave, so they don't used me to bring it down and Arthur Watts will try and get to me."

Lincoln then looks to all of them. "Then let's move. Now!" They then head to the portal, back to the Great Gate. Lincoln looks to the Huntresses and Huntsman. "We'll keep this portal standing, and then fresh supplies will be coming through to help fund the war front and we'll get our allies to assist as well. In the meantime, stay here and stay strong, and Penny… Be safe."

The heroes stop and turn around. "What?" They all look to Penny who isn't moving, or going with them. "Penny? What's going on?" asked Boomer.

"I have a job to do, and that job is to….. Keep the powers of the Winter Maiden safe. I can't go back with you guys, I have to stay here and… And keep my friends and my home, safe."

They all are shocked to hear this, but they all understand why. They all go over and they hug it out with Penny, and they all say their goodbyes.

"We're gonna miss you at school Penny" said Leni.

"We'll be sure that everyone knows what you had to do, even the Faunus living in Royal Woods" replied Sam.

"I will miss going to High School with all of you, I had a blast being part of the Tech club. Tell them that I might come back, well might" replied Penny.

"Keep safe Penny" said Neil. "Fight the Grimm and kick ass."

Penny chuckles. "I hope for the best to you and you're family."

She then continues to speak to all of them and then she hugs Gyro. "Thank you for finding me and bringing me to FutureTech."

Gyro hugs her back. "I did what I had to do Penny, all in a Guardian's days' work." He then whispers. "And I'll be sure Pyrrha knows of this as well." Penny nods and she departs from the hug and she looks to the ones who called family, the crew of FutureTech.

"I'm sorry it has to come to this, but we all saw this coming."

Jack Cyber sighs. "We knew one day, one day you would go home and help save your friends and family. That day is here, and we hope that we would stay and fight. But I guess we all can't be part of the same conflict, not anymore."

"Things won't be the same back in the Royal Fortress, but we'll hold our own" said Victor.

Penny smiles. "Tell GLADIS I said goodbye, and that perhaps we'll meet again. Someday." She then looks to Tadashi. "And take care of your hero team in San Fransokyo, Tadashi Hamada."

Tadashi nods. "Y-Yeah, I'll miss hearing that positive attitude from you Penny Polendina."

Then Penny goes to the one man who helped rebuild her, into who she is now. "Martin i…."

"No, I understand and I have to let you go. You have to take care of the world you came from and we have to take care of the battle ahead. Soon, not tomorrow but soon, we will come back and together, Defenders, Huntsmen, Huntresses and with the Winter Maiden and all our forces, we will turn the tide that is Salem" replied Martin.

Then Penny hugs him and sheds some tears. "Thank you. Thank you for helping restore me and thank you for… For being a good father figure to me, dad."

They all see Martin sheds some tears and he hugs her back and he also cries. "Things won't be the same anymore lass. I'll miss you, but this has to be done. We might not be together as we normally do, but I know we'll always be there for each other. Always, goodbye my child."

They then depart from the hug and he places a kiss onto Penny's head. "We all have our paths to take, and you found yours and I am damn proud at the woman you will soon become."

Penny giggles and she looks to Becky. "Keep this nerd safe and try not to lose him."

Becky goes over and smiles. "I will. Goodbye Penny."

They all walk to the Great Gate, but they all look back and Penny waves to them. "Royal Defenders!"

They all chant. "We stand as one! For the realms, for the dimensions, for the Multiverse!"

They all walk off to the portal, Martin looks back and waves to the android and he recalls the memories he had with her. Especially the first time her robotic corpse was in his office, the day he helped make her who she is and the battles they have been through.

"Till we meet again, Penny Polendina." Martin then walks through the portal, back home.

Penny wipes away a tear. "Farewell, Martin McKenzie."

Penny then turns around and she sees all of them looking towards her. "I have a lot to explain don't I?"

"You darn right you do!" said Nora.

"But right now, we have a job to do. So, we can talk about what Penny has been through for next time" said Blake.

They all look to the land of Mantle and the City of Atlas and the Grimm coming and the large Grimm with Salem on top. The battle for Atlas and Mantle has begun.
