Chapter 513: Great Lakes Winter Visit.
(Great Lakes City.)
The city of Great Lakes is looking quite festive with the snow falling all over the place and everyone there, from humans, Faunus and Pokémon are feeling quite merry for the month of December.
Penn Zero and his parents walk down the streets with the Christmas stuff they got for their home and they join up with his girlfriend, Sashi Kobayashi with her parents. Though, they question where the heck Boone and his parents are.
Margarita and her hair salon, she is coming up with new kinds of styles to make others feel festive while looking good with the hair they have.
Mr. Nakamura along with his Dog Nelson walk alongside Vito and his two dogs are talking about what's gonna happen with their own Christmas' this December.
Mabel walks out of the Mercado and is feeling festive with the fresh fruit she has, same goes with tons of other customers who all came to the Mercado for the big sale they have there.
Then comes Parr and he has lots of new fruit for the place, the Pokémon of the Mercado Herdier keeps an eye on the place and makes sure no signs of trouble comes, while also dressed as Santa for some reason. Who the heck dressed him to look like Santa?
The Great Lakes Zoo is also looking quite festive as well. Even though Becca Chang doesn't work there anymore, it doesn't mean she won't stop by to help around the place to look nice and also instruct some of the new staff how to properly handle each and every animal. Adelaide is also there, helping.
The new folks of the town are all getting used to this holiday known as Christmas, and what do I mean by new folks? Well, after the battle of Mantle, many of the folks who were evacuated decided to seek refuge to the one place they have heard would be safe.
The humans and Faunus of Mantle have a new home, and it truly reminds them of their old homes in Mantle, but a bit nicer and less into the law as Ironwood did with his orders and paranoia. They have a lot to learn and also a lot to deal with when living in this world that is not Remnant, but they can manage their best.
Next to them, the Protoss are also looking forward to celebrating this holiday for the first time with their human, Faunus and Pokémon allies. They're first time to be as festive as everyone else. At least they read all about that stuff.
But we're getting off topic, let's see how the two girls from the Casagrande apartment are doing.
Ronnie Anne and Sid are both on the roof and are enjoying some hot cocoa that Rosa gave them. "Man, this hot cocoa you're Abuela makes sure hits the spot" said Sid.
"Yup. Nothing else can beat the nice and warm refreshing and healthy drink than the hot cocoa of my Abuela" replied Ronnie Anne. "But I know some folks have their own taste, but still they have got to try what my abuela makes. Those who drink this are gonna be blown away from the taste."
"And glad she's gonna be serving tons of it when the big Great Lakes Christmas party at the park, begins" said CJ. Yup, he's on the roof as well.
Carlota is also on the roof and enjoying the drinks. "Dang right, also where the heck are your hero friends at?"
"Right here." They all get startled from their sudden appearance. "Sorry guys" replied Linka. But it's not just Linka, also there are Lincoln, Luna, Leni, Sam, Simon and Jordan.
"Glad we made it" replied Lincoln. "Also, is that hot cocoa?"
"Sure is, Rosa let us take the whole platter in case you guys showed up. Help yourselves." Sid hands them the hot cocoa and all of them enjoy the drinks.
"Dang. This sure is warm and delicious too" said Luna.
"My dad has got to know about this, he makes hot cocoa too, and I think both are good" said Sam.
"Not wrong sis, so love this" said Simon. "And it has marshmallows and bits of chocolate too."
"Give it to my Abuela to make something taste even better than what she normally makes, and truth be told, every time it's December, she's always trying to figure out how to improve her hot cocoa" said Ronnie Anne. "Her cooking is already nice, but I guess some change to make them taste good is what makes them truly unique."
"Also, how the heck did you guys get here so fast?" asked CJ. "We didn't even see you guys come, or even hear you guys come."
Luna smirks. "Sorry about that dudes. As you guys should recall, that Linc and I can phase into the snow and teleport to another source of cold snow or ice. It's the price of the power of Cryokenises."
"So cool." Sid then takes a sip of her hot cocoa. "And this is warm too. So, ready to go and walk around the town to see how everyone's been doing?"
They all nod and they finish they're hot cocoa and all of them get down from the apartment building, they do pass by some of the neighbors and also Lalo and Sergio who are helping add Christmas lights all over the place.
"Rawrk! We need more lights!" Sergio goes back to the apartment and so does Lalo.
"Glad to see that bird for breath is doing some work for once" said Jordan. "He causing any trouble around here?"
"Not much, just trying to be cool and always stylish, but when a Pokémon comes up, he flies off in fear still" replied Ronnie Anne.
"I still don't get his issue though, I mean I know Pokémon are wickedly powerful with their abilities and all, but they're not all bad. He needs to lighten up and adapt to the new life in the city" said Sid.
"That's gonna take a long time for Sergio to handle, also a heads up. Carl hasn't found a Pokémon for himself either" replied Carlota. "No matter how much he tries, they seem to steer clear of him and don't want anything to do with him and whatever plans he has that could get them into trouble."
"Sounds like the wise choice to make" said Leni. "I don't wanna see a Pokémon get blamed by Carl."
They all make it out of the apartment and they all begin to walk down the street. "So, how're things going on at your home? Ms. Spellman?" asked Sid. This makes them chuckle, even Luna.
"Everything's all cool little dude and I guess being Linc's mom is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I mean, I know I've been quite the mother figure to him, but to be his mom for reals is a true honor and a past dream come true."
Lincoln walks close to Luna and she pulls him along with Jordan close to her.
"Man, and all it took was one talk with the President and CPS and now look at where you guys are" said Ronnie Anne. "Do the others in school know?"
Lincoln chuckles. "Quite a lot and a lot of kids haven't stopped talking about it. The whole news about Luna being a mom to me, well that's something that won't go away until then."
"Same goes in the High School" replied Sam. "So many are confused, and some are happy for Luna and the role she has now. But those who don't know what to think, have not heard the nice speech that Linc made about Luna, along with the many moments where they're bonds have gotten stronger than ever."
"They oughtta put that in the history books or something or it's already part of whatever journal Lincoln has made" said CJ.
Lincoln chuckles. "Thanks CJ and yes I do have a journal that helps me keep track of everything I have been through, and the ones it reassure the most are the ones with the team, my girlfriend, my family and with Luna. They're all my treasures and I will keep treasuring them for as long as life gives me."
Jordan kisses his cheek. "You are just too sweet for your own good handsome." Lincoln chuckles hearing this.
Sid also looks to Lincoln. "Yeah, he sure is one sweet guy."
Ronnie Anne then pulls Sid close to her. "Easy there wing nut. Let's not forget they're dating and so are we."
Sid chuckles nervously. "Sorry, sorry about that." They all chuckle seeing this. "Anyway, what else has been new, I mean the whole thing about the new folks in town is still a trending thing for us here in Great Lakes City."
"Yeah, what's the condition of Mantle and Atlas?" asked Ronnie Anne. "And we know from some words and rumors and stories from the new people and Faunus in town."
Lincoln sighs. "I wish we had answers for you guys, but we don't. FutureTech is the one keeping track of everything going on in the world of Remnant and also keeping track of… Penny."
That last part made them feel uneasy and this made the others realize they shouldn't have mentioned about that whole conflict they had to go through in Atlas and Mantle.
"Sorry guys, we shouldn't have asked" said Carlota.
"Yeah, we forgot that one of you isn't coming back anytime soon" replied Sid.
"No, it's cool. We know that when the time comes, then we can go back and reclaim Mantle and Atlas and also secure the Relic and push Salem back and come tomorrow, that's when Martin McKenzie makes the announcement of the plan" replied Linka. "The plan to free Atlas and Mantle and stop the paranoia tyranny that is General James Ironwood."
"And we'll also get to see Penny again and help the rest of the huntsmen and huntresses and save the lands of Mantle and Atlas" said Lincoln.
"That is, if McKenzie's plan will work" said Simon.
"He's made some mistakes in his plans, a few small and minor mistakes, but when it comes to the planning and tactical technology. Martin pulls through, just like how Linc has plans and makes things work" replied Jordan.
"She's not wrong" replied Lincoln. "We gotta have some faith in the guy and his plan of attack and liberation. For now, we have to wait for him to tell every human and Faunus from Remnant, what his plans are when we got back to Remnant."
"Dang! The whole Remnant thing seems like one heck of a priority" said Sid. "Now, can you guys tell us about what you guys did days ago?"
"You mean the part where we all played Among us?" asked Lincoln.
"Not that Lincoln, she means the word and news about how you guys went to another world and helped save a planet from mass doom from evil alien beasts" said Ronnie Anne.
Luna chuckles. "The whole thing with Galaluna, right. Well, it sure was one heck of a fight and one heck of an invasion."
And so they tell them all about what they did. When they helped Princess Ilana, along with her bodyguards Lance and Octus return to Galaluna and save the King and all its citizens from the Mutraddi, the whole fight they had in the realm of "The Sym-Bionic Titan."
(FutureTech HQ. North of the Pacific Ocean.)
Martin is pacing back and forth as he goes through his tablet and all he has planned, then a large black trunk touches his head. "Thanks for the comfort, but I need to focus on what I need to do when I speak tomorrow."
He then looks to the Grimm Alpha Megoliath. "You are the sole proof that we can free the Grimm from the control of Salem, but I also fear for what could happen when you go to the town of Royal Woods. I don't know how the folks and Faunus there will react, as well as…. Sienna Khan."
"She was told about you, and she has yet to see how much a Grimm can be changed into something of equal minded as civilized folks. I hope things don't turn wrong real fast, for it could spell chaos and the one thing we don't want, is everything falling apart."
The trunk of the Grimm lays on his shoulder and Martin looks to the creature with a face that is showing him hope and encouragement.
"Yeah, I don't need to worry. I know this will work and soon, everyone will see just how much a Grimm can be called, a friend."
While this is happening; Victor, Tadashi and Jack Cyber see this and are confused. "Dude, he treats that thing like his own kid" said Jack Cyber.
"No shit Sherlock." Victor drinks his coffee.
"Becky is okay with this, she seems to appreciate the kindness and changed heart and mind of the Grimm" said Tadashi. "You guys think this plan will work when we go back to Remnant?"
Victor thinks. "Hard to say, the Xel'Naga keystone did help in removing Amon from Kerrigan and also removing all forms of Zerg bio signature and it can eradicate Zerg as well. Then it was used to help contain Amon to keep him out of the Khala and thrust him back into the void."
Jack Cyber then does some calculating. "The possibilities of the plan working would be around…. Less than 65 percent."
They all look to Martin who then climbs up the Grimm Alpha Megoliath and they walk back to the underground hangar. "Then that's all we need to know, to improve the plan and make sure it works at one-hundred percent" said Victor.
They cannot fail the mission, they cannot fail the plan and they cannot fail to save Mantle, and Atlas and all of Remnant.
