Sun
Otohime knew very well how much her people longed for the sun.
It was the very reason why so many risked their lives and swam up to the ocean's surface. They wished to feel sunlight – its warmth – on their skin. It was everyone's dream to live under the sun – just like the humans. The very same humans who denied her folk a place under the sun. The same humans that caught and enslaved them.
But still, her people dreamt of the sun's light.
No matter how much the humans mistreated the merfolk, it didn't crush the dream of living one day in a world under the sun's warmth and light. It was the century-old dream of her people.
And so, Otohime – with her weak body – shouldered the dream of her people and boarded the giant ship, which would bring the world noble back into his world under the sun.
