Today is Shirou second day of learning.
After finishing his morning routine Shirou prepared himself for today class.
Charm class, taught by professor Filius Flitwick, on class 99.
In this class students were taught specific wand movements and proper pronunciation, also some detailed instruction about a certain spells and sometime the history of the spell itself.
Every meeting they were only taught of one spell, but professor Flitwick encourages his student to explore the wonders of charm themselves. With someone capable to supervise of course, it won't do to lose an arm or head by experimenting alone and no he didn't exaggerated.
Professor Flitwickhimself was apart-goblinwizard, or a wizard with a goblin blood on his ancestry and thus his current height. The man is tiny, but he is well known to be a good teacher and an even better duelist or so Shirou heard about the man from the older students.
Not that Shirou can fault them, the professor is capable yet kind he had already giving advice to Shirou about how he can improve his charms skill, when he realizes Shirou is struggling with his lesson.
Attentive, capable, and kind, a perfect example of a role model for a teacher. Even Shirou can't help to admire the man. Unfortunately admiration didn't really help Shirou progress whatsoever.
On another note, Shirou is currently in deep shame as he suddenly improve better by taking the advice an eleven years old girl in front of him.
I'll be thanking Ms. Granger later, Shirou thought while looking at the floating feather above him, the feather is moving in circles following the movement of his wand.
Pronunciation, huh...
After the charm class, the first year student is now having a free period for the whole day.
Shirou uses this chance to improve his charm skill, before he goes to check the extracurricular courses Hogwarts offered.
The extracurricular classes offered to First years is as followed ancient studies, art, beasts, flying, ghoul studies, magical theory, muggle art, muggle music, music, and xylomancy.
Very interesting, but unfortunately students are not allowed to pick more than two extracurricular activity out of fear it will hindered their academic progress. In that regard Shirou is already picking a choice, ancient studies and magical theory. Hopefully it'll make his job a little easier.
With his luck, it might be the opposite, but hey, let's keep positive.
Shirou day ended much quicker than he thought.
On the next day, after getting out of potion class. The first years are preparing for their next class.
Herbology class, taught by professor Pomona Sprout, on Hogwarts greenhouse.
In this class students learned to care for and utilise plants, learn about their magical properties and what they are used for. Because many plants provided ingredients forpotionsand medicine, while others had magical effects of their own right. Sometime their effect is not too friendly and so a vigilance is needed everytime they learn herbology.
Surprisingly students were permitted to use profane language loudly should any of the dangerous plants sneak up on them, such as theVenomous Tentacula, seemingly as to warn others or to cope with the stress.
And then there's the professor herself, Professor Sprout is a squat little witch with short, grey, wavy hair. She is wearing a patched and battered hat covered in dirt and earth, and her fingernails is filled with mud, hopefully it's mud. She seems a kind and helpful person as she always smile while teaching, a stellar proof of someone who enjoys their job. Something Shirou is envious of for reason he wont elaborate.
The class ended with Shirou a bit covered in dirt, the lesson were expectedly on hands. Some girls is complaining about the dirt but nevertheless the professor smile and kind behavior makes them enjoyed the lesson.
On another note Neville seems to be liking the class, as his performance is unexpectedly improve.
Good for him, Shirou guess.
After dinner and helping his roommates finishing their homework, they were prepared to go to their last class for today.
Astronomy class, taught by professor Aurora Sinistra, in the astronomy tower.
Professor Aurora is wearing olive robes and a pointed hat spangled with astrological signs. she is a tall witch with dark hair, eyes, and skin, with a slightly circular face with cheek bones and a prominent, sharp nose. Rumor claimed that she attendedUagadou School of Magic, whose students are known to be skilled in Astronomy.
Astronomy was the classthat studied stars and the movement of planets. Students would also learn how to use theirwandswith anOrreryto predict the next eclipse, the only known practical form of magic used in the class.
Professor Aurora taught the student the names of stars and the movements of planets. She is serious and take no nonsense in her class, giving a clear punishment to anyone who didn't take her class seriously. The Gryffindors were losing 10 points due to Seamus and Ronald joking around.
By the time they finish the class though everyone is fast asleep the moment their head touch the bed.
As for Shirou, he is learning a new spell called Colloportus while reviewing today's lesson particularly charms. Before going to sleep.
Today is Thursday, and a unique day for Shirou.
First thing first, Neville were given something called remembrall from his grandma, whom will reminded him if he forget something. Which he didn't know what he forget. before going to their first class, charm.
After Charm, they have a break, before going to the next class. Shirou had to drag Ronald and Harry so thay didn't get late from exploring the school, again.
The next class is transfiguration class, taught by professor Minerva McGonagall, on class 1.
Professor McGonagall isa tall, rather severe-looking, and "sprightly" seventy-year-old woman.she had a very prim expression as she walked through the class.
The class taught the students the art of changing the form and appearance of an object or a person.
Seems dangerous, Shirou thought.
Likecharms work, Transfiguration was achieved through concentration, precisewandmovements, and the proper pronunciation of anincantation. However, it was generally more difficult than Charms and required great effort.
Before they start learning however professor McGonagall give the student a stern warning.
"Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts. Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned."
Quite a harsh punishment, even professor Snape with his intense dislike of children at the very least didn't threaten to kick student out of class for messing around. That means this class had a very high academic requirement.
Professor McGonagall then giving the class a demonstration by turning her desk into a pig, something that shocked and understandably frightened Shirou, not to mention McGonagall threat of turning a student who were late to her class into a watch or a map. Meaning it can be used on a human without any limit or restrictions which terrified Shirou immensely.
How scary this world magic is, Shirou thought.
Fortunately for Shirou the first lesson were remembering the transfiguration alphabet and formula, and skipping the practical for the next lesson.
In this class, Shirou finally understand the scope of his job.
And it terrified him of what this wizard and witches capable of doing.
After finishing their transfiguration class, the rest of the first years excitedly going to their next class. Running as quick as they can as if they're afraid of being late.
Their next class is not a core classes but a mandatory one.
The flying class, taught by Madam Rolanda Hooch, on Hogwarts open ground.
The class taught students how toflybroomsticks, that's it. Unlike the other students Shirou is not as excited as the rest.
Oh, he'll learn it for the sake of efficiency, but he didn't feel much need to learn anymore than necessary.
The class started badly for Shirou who is struggling to even summon it, in fact he was the last to be able to summon his broom in class.
Thankfully for the next lesson he could somewhat control his broom adequately. But the same could not he said for Neville who fly so high yet unable to lower it, as expected he fell. Not that he was any better though as he didn't know how to land the damn broom on his own.
While Madam Hooch is bringing Neville to the healing ward, another commotion happen between the student. Curious Shirou went to see the problem, when walking he saw something was thrown in the air and Harry quickly fly to catch it.
Wow, kid is good, Shirou thought.
The class ended when Harry is dragged by professor McGonagall to recieve his punishment.
Or so Shirou think, as the next day he heard a rumor saying Harry join the Gryffindors Quidditch team because he impressed professor McGonagall with his talent.
Good for him, though Shirou had to wonder.
What's a Quidditch?
Their next class is history of magic, taught by professor Binn, a ghost.
This class disappointed Shirou. He thought this class will learn about the history of Magic, but instead they were learning the wizarding society history instead. While it helped Shirou to learn wizard culture and society, it didn't help his understanding of its magical structure whatsoever.
He left the class amd return to his house in disappointment.
Unfortunately for Shirou tonight will be the start of his trouble in Hogwarts.
