Well, lucky for you, I FINALLY decided to continue this fic!
So here it is, the second chapter of this fanfiction, and it's about battles, yayyyy… This is gonna be terrible… But… I mean, I did screw myself up when I chose to make a fic that's gonna include a TON of battles…
I have no idea on what else to type in here so i hope you enjoy reading this chapter!
Chapter Date: April 16th 2023
Chapter 2: VS Mario!
Vs. Mario
Conditions:
- Win the battle to awaken the fighter
-Final Destination-
Akira and Kirby appears on the stage. The former being absolutely confused while the latter prepares himself to fight the plumber.
"W-Where even are we?" The teen said while looking around.
"We're in Final Destination!"
"W-What…? What do you mean…? How did we even get over here?"
"Um… I don't know…?" Kirby became confused as well.
"And what's that?" Akira pointed at the item Kirby had on his hand.
"It's an Unira!" Kirby said cheerfully as he turned around… and noticed that the teen's wearing a blue bandana on his head, an orange shirt over a dark blue T-shirt, light grey pants, blue armbands, a dark blue piece of cloth on his waist, yellow boots and a spear. "Um… Akira…?"
Akira blinked and looked down. "U-Uh… What…?" He said as he inspected the spear he had on his hand.
"That outfit looks familiar..."
"Well…"
Ready?
"Wait… W-Who said that?"
"O-Oh! Prepare yourself!" Kirby said as he turned around to face Mario.
GO!
Final Destination - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Once the battle started Mario immediately started running towards Kirby.
"Kirby, watch out!"
The pink puffball jumped over Mario to dodge the incoming attack.
"Uh… K-Kirby? He's heading after- '' Mario used a slide kick, causing Akira to fall down to the floor face first. "O-Ow… That hurt…"
"Akira!" Kirby landed and immediately started charging a forward kick, launching Mario into the air.
"Ugh…" The teen got up, and he started running towards the other side of the stage to avoid getting hit. "I have no experience in fighting, what am I supposed to do to him?"
"Well um… I'll fight for you!" Kirby said as he attacked Mario by throwing the Unira he had on his hand towards the plumber.
"But… then I'll feel bad for not fighting with you!"
Kirby got launched by an explosion that came from Mario's hand after the plumber got back to the stage.
Akira saw this as an opportunity to land his first hit. The teen started running at Mario to attack him with the spear…
And he missed.
Akira tripped and fell down to the ground again. "Great, I missed… Come on!" He shouted.
Kirby got up and hit Mario with an upwards kick. Akira got up too and he looked up to see Kirby brandishing a sword and quickly falling down, hitting Mario in the process. "Seriously? And I can't even hit him?" He felt pretty jealous, to say the least.
Mario got thrown into the right boundary and tried to recover back to the stage, but he was interrupted by Kirby using the same move at the edge of the platform.
A banana peel appeared in front of Akira. "What's this…?" He said as he grabbed the item. "A banana peel? What am I going to do with this?" The teen looked up and saw Kirby getting thrown right at his face. "Wha-" Akira couldn't react in time and Kirby collided with him, sending both of them off of the stage.
Akira gasped and he waved his arms frantically trying to get back onstage, which was useless, as you would expect. "K-Kirby, help!" He yelled.
Kirby responded by opening his mouth, inhaling him and floating back to the stage. Once he landed on the platform, he spat Akira out. "What…?" The teen looked even more confused after being sucked inside Kirby.
"Are you okay?" Kirby said as he shaked Akira.
Akira got out of his state of confusion and looked at Kirby. "Y-Yeah." He got up and turned around to look at Mario. "I really wanna fight too…"
"Don't push yourself too much, alright?" Kirby smiled at Akira.
The teen smiled back and nodded. "If you say so." He started running towards Mario again.
"Oh, wait…" Akira stopped running right in front of Mario charging another forward smash. He looked at his hand thinking that he still had the banana peel, but it wasn't there. He looked back at Mario and noticed him charging his attack. The teen yelped and dodged the attack, landing on his back.
"Don't tell me I just wasted my time doing that…" He looked disappointed at Mario's hand causing an explosion that he barely avoided.
Kirby jumped over Akira and Mario, using his down smash to attack the latter and send him offstage.
"This is really hurting my self-esteem… And it's already bad enough…" Akira said with a bored expression on his face.
Mario tried to go back onstage, but Kirby jumped off the platform and brandished a hammer, landing a critical hit causing Mario to get launched away to the blast zone, disappearing inside a tower of light.
Victory!
-World of Light-
Starting Area
Map (World of Light) - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Akira and Kirby appear back at the entrance of the ruins inside a bright light.
"That light almost made me blind…" Akira squinted his eyes.
"We did it!" Kirby jumped happily.
"I wouldn't really say we, since I didn't even land a hit on him…"
"At least you tried!"
"That's true but…" Before he could say anything else, a bright light appeared from the entrance.
Both Kirby and Akira blocked their eyes. "Really? Give me a break with these lights!"
Once the light dimmed out, a familiar figure appeared from it. "What… is this place?" The person looked around.
"Mario!" Kirby ran to the person, being revealed to be Mario, to hug him.
"Kirby? What are you doing here?" He looked at Akira. "And who are you?"
"O-Oh, yeah." Akira scratched his head with a nervous smile on his face. "My name is Akira, but you can call me Aki."
"He tried to help me, but…" Kirby looked sad at Akira.
"Yeah… I've never fought anyone before." Akira replied.
"Nice to meet you, Akira. I'm Mario." Mario smiled at the teen.
"Nice to meet you too."
Mario looked back at Kirby. "Kirby, what happened?"
Kirby stopped hugging Mario's leg and looked at him. "I used my Warp Star to get away, and now there are clones of all the other Smashers, including you, that are controlled by the spirits of everyone else."
"S-Smashers…?" Akira sweatdropped.
"That's what we're called, and I don't necessarily like it either." Mario replied. "And how did you get here?"
"I have no idea, I was just going to sleep, and then I saw a light come out of nowhere, and then I appeared here."
"That's alright."
"And… What is your group about…?"
"To summarize it shortly, we're a group of people that participate in fighting tournaments."
"Oh, that's pretty cool."
"Thanks!" Kirby smiled.
"We should get going now, don't you think?"
Akira nodded, but before they could start walking towards the center of the ruins… A blue window (computer program window... screen... thing) appears, and Akira stops walking. "Uh… Do you guys see this?" He asks, really confused.
"What?" Both Mario and Kirby said in unison.
"This… Window… It's showing… Some 'results'...?"
"What window?" Kirby asks.
"What, you guys don't see it…?" The teen sighs. "Great, now you're gonna think I'm weird…"
"But what do you mean?" Mario replies.
"Well, this… computer program-like window just appeared in front of me… and It's showing the results of last battle…"
"What are the results?"
"Well, it says 'Mario joins the battle', and the other stuff is… We won 109 Gold, 101 Spirit Points, three Skill Spheres, a small Snack, and… Slow FS Charging. I have no idea what that means… but I think it's like… a skill or something…?"
"Okay, but what are all those things…?" Kirby asks.
"What things?"
"The stuff in the 'Results'."
"Well, Gold is pretty self-explanatory, Spirit Points are… I have no idea… For now… Skill Spheres are for unlocking stuff in the Skill Tree, Snacks are for feeding Primary Spirits, Primary Spirits… are also self-explanatory, they are the spirits you equip as your… primary one, and they can have Support Spirits. And last but not least, Skills... Are skills."
"Oh… That's cool!" Kirby says cheerfully.
"But what is the Primary Spirit you currently have equipped?"
"Well…" Akira pauses for a second. "It's… Bowser, but in his wedding attire." He says nervously.
"That's… Strange… Kirby, did you beat a clone with that spirit?" Mario says as he looks at Kirby.
Kirby looks back at Mario. "No…?"
"Don't ask me, I don't know either." Akira says.
"Okay, I'll trust you." Mario replies, looking back at the teen. "Though, is there something else?"
"Yeah… In the corner, it says…"
"Collection: Summon
There are some spirits you can only get by summoning. Use Reverse Lookup to see which spirits can be summoned.

"Spirits…?" Kirby asked. "I think… they're the ones possessing the clones… like the Jigglypuff that… Beat you up."
"I don't think I needed to be reminded of that, though…" Akira chuckles a bit.
"I think I automatically 'equipped' them once I beat them… Remember the Unira I had?"
"Oh, Yeah… Right…" (I was the one who made Kirby equip them…) Akira thought.
"Is there anything else you can do with the 'Window'?"
"Uh… Let me check here…" The teen taps the 'EXIT' button, and it changes to another 'page'... It's the Job System.
"It switched to another thing once I tapped on it. It says I just unlocked… a new Job…? T-The 'Geno' Job…?" The tone of Akira's voice turns into a bit of a shocked one.
"Did you just say Geno?"
"Y-Yeah… I did… What about it?" The teen tries his hardest to not reveal any of his knowledge about everyone.
"Well, he was my partner in one of my adventures… What do you mean you have his 'Job'?"
"I don't know… and it also says I have the 'Bandana Dee' Job… Wait, was that the one I used earlier?"
"Bandana Dee? That's the name of my best friend!" Kirby said.
"Oh, nice… It says I'm currently using the Geno Job, but my clothes haven't changed at all…" Akira said as he looked down to his clothes, they were still the same ones he had while in his bedroom.
"I think they only change in battle."
"Well, that explains it a bit." The teen taps the screen again, and now it changes to a page that shows the current fighters unlocked, spirits currently equipped and four options, "Party", "Manage Spirits", "Skill Tree" and "Jobs". "Huh, interesting…" Akira taps the first option, and two buttons appear, "Fighters" and "Spirits" Akira taps "Fighters, and it shows the character select screen, but with only Kirby, Mario and Akira. (Oh, wow, so I'm a Smash Bros. fighter now? THAT'S PRETTY NICE!) Akira thought as he mentally did Joseph Joestar's "Nice!" pose. Akira's Icon had a lock on it, which meant that he couldn't be changed. But... Something confused him a bit.
"What is he doing…?" Kirby asks Mario.
"I don't know, but we should probably let him continue." The plumber replies.
"Why... Do I look like an anime character?" He says as he looks at his icon. "WHY... DO I LOOK LIKE AN ANIME CHARACTER."
"What?"
"You know what I won't even ask, atleast I look better than i actually do..." He tapped the "Exit" button, and then tapped the other option, which was the "Spirits" button. His current Primary Spirit was the Bowser (Wedding) Spirit, he had currently equipped as Support Spirits the Smoky Progg and Celeste Spirits.
Akira goes back to the first page, and taps the "Manage Spirits" button. Three buttons appear, "Level Up", "Dismiss" and "Summon". The teen taps the first button, and feeds his Primary Spirit all the snacks he currently has. He taps the Exit button, and just decides to ignore the other two options and goes back to the first page again and taps the "Skill Tree" button. He scrolls through the Skill Tree and notices that he doesn't have enough Skill Points to even buy the first one. "Oh, great. I can't even unlock the first skill from the Skill Tree…"
"Skill Tree?" Kirby asks.
"Yeah, it's the third option in the Main Menu for this thing." Akira replies as he goes back to the first page, and taps the "Jobs" button, only two Jobs appear, the "Bandana Dee" and "Geno" ones. He taps the first one and sees that there are stats for it. "Cool... This seems like an agility-based Job..." He exits the page and notices that there's a button for the Job's moveset, and he taps the Bandana Dee Job's one, and as expected, the moveset appears, and he begins to study it. "Nice, atleast I'll get to know what moves to use while fighting..." Once he finishes, he begins to look at the Geno job's one, and after a while, he closes the window. "Alright, let's go."
Once they reached the set of stairs, they noticed another enemy in their way.
"That looks like R.O.B… And it's bigger too!" Kirby said.
"Don't tell me we're gonna have to fight an enemy every 10 steps…" Akira sighed.
"If we are going to, we have no other options." Mario replied.
"You're right, but it's still gonna be annoying… and what's R.O.B.?"
"As you can see, it's a robot, and its name stands for 'Robotic Operating Buddy'."
"That's cool…"
"Oh, and we should fight with only two people at a time, because it could get out of control."
"Actually I think that's… N-Nevermind."
"And I suppose you have no experience in fighting, am I right?" Mario asked Akira.
"Yes." Akira looked disappointed about the fact that he couldn't do anything to help out with the fighting.
"And you already know what i'm going to say, right? Don't get offended, I'm just worried that you'll get hurt."
"Yes… I know…" The teen lowered his head in disappointment.
"Okay then." Mario and Kirby started walking towards the purple R.O.B. Once they got close enough, a black circle appeared on the screen, and it started expanding until the whole screen was completely covered in black.
Vs. Giant R.O.B. (4th alternate costume)
Spirit: Guardian (From The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild)
Conditions:
- The enemy has super armor and is hard to launch or make flinch
- Stamina battle
- The enemy favors neutral specials

Great Plateau Tower
Mario appeared on the top of the tower.
"Kirby, get ready-" Mario turned around and he saw… Akira, instead of Kirby.
The teen gasped, and he started looking around the stage. "W-Wait, What am I even doing here?"
"To be honest with you, I don't know why." The plumber looked at Akira's attire. "And why do you have those clothes?"
Akira looked down again, and he noticed he was wearing other clothes now. They were Geno's clothes, including shirt and pants, there's even wood covering some parts of his skin. "Well uh… The 'Job' system… remember? It said I had the Geno Job."
-"Mario!"- A voice comes from inside the teen's pocket.
"W-What?" Akira says as he feels something inside said place. He puts his hand on his pocket and pulls out a Switch-themed walkie talkie.
-"Why is Akira there while i'm back over here?"- The voice coming out of it... Is Kirby's!
"I don't know?" The plumber says.
"Me neither." The teen says.
-"Well... Just don't lose, okay?"-
"I'll promise you that." Akira says as he smiles.
Ready?
Both fighters get ready.

Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 Trailer BGM
Mario runs at the R.O.B. clone while it readies to use lasers from its eyes.
"W-Wait… Mario!" Akira says, worried for Mario.
"I know what i'm doing, just follow me!" The plumber jumps and dodges the laser, but now it's heading towards Akira.
"Oh, not again!" The teen extends his hands in front of him to try to block the projectile, which obviously wouldn't work, but his right arm suddenly turns into a thin cannon. "W-What?!" The arm cannon fires a beam that destroys the lasers and damages the R.O.B. clone.
Akira retracts his right arm, and it turns back into its normal state. "Um… What did I just do..:?" He looks at his arm, really confused.
"You used an attack!" Mario says as he lands behind the R.O.B. clone and lands a forward smash on it.
"Oh, okay!" Akira replies as he runs towards the enemy robot, jumps and extends his arm again, this time forming a cannon as thick as his arm, and it shoots out an explosion right on the R.O.B. clone's face. "I have no idea how I did that but I'll keep doing it!"
Mario follows up with a jumping uppercut (up special), pushing the giant robot a bit up in the air.
Akira charges his current Job's down special. "Uh… What?" Once he releases it, five meteors of energy fall from above and all hit the R.O.B. clone. "Oh, Nice."
Mario hits the enemy with a Sweep Kick, and follows it up with an overhand in mid-air.
The robot then launches another eye laser, hitting Mario.
"Mario!" The teen starts to charge up his Job's forward smash right beside the R.O.B. clone, it's a perfectly timed hit, but he gets hit by a laser.
"I'm okay, don't worry!" Mario does another up special, leaving the enemy with less than 10 stamina.
Meanwhile, Akira was charging up another beam. "Time to finish this!" It hit, and the R.O.B. clone was defeated.

Map (World of Light) - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
A light appears at the center of the ruins, and both fighters come out of it.
"Mario, Akira!" Kirby said while walking towards them with a sad face. "I still want to know why wasn't I sent there..."
"I… have no idea…"
"Maybe it's because… you're the main focus of all this…? 'Main character', if you will." Mario said.
"Why do you think that?"
"Well, judging by the fact that only you can see the 'window' you were talking about earlier."
"But i'm almost a total stranger to you, we just met today, if days even exist here…"
"That doesn't matter, it kind of might be more proof of the idea."
"Well, I never expected to be one…" Akira scratches the back of his head.
"And I'm guessing you're excited to be one, too?"
"You could say that… But it's also wrong at the same time… I don't really like being the center of attention… It makes me really nervous."
"It's okay, I won't judge." Mario smiles.
"Thanks…" The Results Window appears in front of Akira again. "Oh, the window again."
"What does it show you?"
"It says that I unlocked the Guardian spirit, It's a two star support spirit that's a normal type. Its skill is Weapon Resist, and as you can imagine, it decreases the damage of melee weapons." Akira taps the screen and it changes to the results.
"What's that?" Kirby asks.
"Well, Spirits are classified by ranks, the one-star rank is called Novice, the two-star one is named Advanced, three star; Ace, and finally, four star; Legend. There are four Spirit types, Normal, Attack, Shield and Grab. The last three are weak and strong to another type, Attack is strong to Grab but weak to Shield, Shield is weak to Grab but weak to Attack, and Grab is weak to Attack but strong to Shield, meanwhile Normal isn't weak or strong to any."
"Oh..."
The teen goes back to look at the screen. "Now we won 94 Gold, 75 Spirit Points, two Skill Spheres, a small Snack and a medium Snack. The Primary Spirit leveled up to Level 20, and as for the information in the corner…"
"Bullet Bill:
This item lets you transform into a Bullet Bill and charge across the screen. You can control the direction, but be careful not to self-destruct!
Category: Items"
"Do you need to do something else?" Mario asks
"Yeah, I just need to feed my Primary Spirit some snacks before fighting. And I think I'll switch you and Kirby, for now."
"Alright then, take your time."
Akira then begins to do as he said, and he switches out his Support Spirits with his newly acquired one, upon finishing he sighs and closes the window. "I'm ready, let's go."
The other two fighters nod, and they turn around, noticing that they had to choose which fighter to fight. There were three paths, Sheik is at the northern one, Marth at the eastern one, and Villager at the western one.
"Well, it's your choice, leader." Mario says.
The last word shocks Akira a bit, as he wasn't expecting anyone to ever say that. "U-Uh… W-What did you just say?"
Mario and Kirby turn around. "You're our leader now!" The pink puffball says cheerfully
"Why though…?"
"I already told you that you appear to be the 'main character' of all of this, remember?" Mario replies.
"Yeah… But…"
"Don't worry, we won't pressure you that much." Mario smiles again.
"Yeah!" Kirby cheers.
"O-Okay… F-Fine…" Akira smiles a bit. "I guess I'll choose… Villager."
"Nice choice." Mario says as they all walk towards Villager, and the same scene with the black cross happens.
"I'm Akira."
"And I'm Mario."
"Man, fighting actually is really fun, now that I think about it…" Akira says as he smiles a bit.
"It does get tiresome after a lot of battles." Mario replies.
"Yeah… I guess so…" Akira scratches the back of his head. "But hey, it's not like we have any other choices now…"
"You're right." Mario nods.
"Anyways…"
"Next chapter will be: Farewell To The Starting Area!"
"I wonder when I'll get to meet Bowser…" Akira mutters under his breath.

Alright, guess I actually did a pretty good job with the fights, but I don't know what you guys'll think (i hope it's a good opinion).
So, I'll just have to suffer the misery of making more battles…

The Geno Job's moveset is based on Project M's Geno.
Extra Notes:
Not So Fun Fact: I'm gay for a couple of characters in Smash, so Akira also is (Example; the "I wonder when I'll get to meet Bowser" line (bro looks like a literal 10, but his personality isn't... really good, to say the least). But of course, this will not turn into a Yaoi fic or something similar, because... why would you ever think that?
So Akira will just… blush, and sometimes get nervous around those characters, EXCEPT if there are other characters in the room (or whatever it's supposed to be at the moment) that aren't also included in the "considered attractive" list, because just like me, he has low self esteem, and I really don't like to make them think I'm weird (I probably am), and stuff, so yeah.
The three smashers (Yes, including Villager) look a bit weirded out at Akira, who's just... standing there.
"..." Akira's right eye twitches.
"...Why Bow-" Villager gets interrupted by... Well...
"FU-"
