"Whoo! Way to go, captain!"
"Nice shot, cap!"
"Good job, Ace."
The Spades crew were on a marine island, taking down marine bases together and creating havoc everywhere they went. It has been almost a week since every one of the Spades crew were recruited. Ace and Deuce have been talking about making plans. Ace said to wait for a while, and cause problem every now and then so they could be on the news everywhere. They need to make a big move to be seen in the Yonko crew's eyes. At the moment, Ace took down a marine base, burning it to ashes, and they were heading towards their ship, Piece of Spadile. Once they reached the ship, they sailed away from the island that was now left in fires and destruction.
"Okay, everyone! Time for training!" Ace shouted suddenly, standing right in the way. The crew looked at him stupidly.
"What do you mean, cap?" Grinning, Ace raised his fist above and yelled.
"From today on, I'm going to train every one of you to be stronger. A lot of strong opponents are waiting for us. For once, I, Fire Fist Ace want to surpass Yonko Whitebeard!" Ace declared, and his crew looked at him in awe. They then cheered for their captain, even though some thought it would be something reckless. After that, Ace told his crew to be ready after eating food so they could start practicing their skills. While the others went to snack on somethings, Deuce stayed back with Ace to talk about whatever Ace's plan was because it seemed as Ace was very serious on it right now.
"So, you got your plan?" Deuce asked casually, leaning against the railings. Ace looked up at the sky and sighed.
"It's a bit complicated in my head right now. I need everyone to be stronger. We're fighting against Blackbeard. He's strong. And he'll be much more stronger if he gets that devil fruit. I must somehow get rid of it before Thatch finds it. I don't know how.. Or I can just ask him to destroy it if he gets his hands on it." Deuce nodded. That sounded like a brief plan. It would work for now, but they needed furthermore planning.
"Why don't one of us or the Whitebeard commanders eat that fruit? Surely it would be more of a help than just destroying the fruit?" Deuce asked, and if not thought of it throughoutly, it sounded like it would be a wise act. But Ace shook his head.
"No, that's not gonna work. Blackbeard is willing to kill anyone for the fruit. But I do wonder what would happen if someone ate the fruit. But they should be protected... Ah- Deuce. Do you want a special logia devil fruit?" Ace suddenly asked, startling Deuce. He thought for a moment, before shrugging.
"Never thought about getting one. But why you ask?" Ace looked expectant. Maybe be wanted Deuce to eat the fruit? But what about Thatch and Blackbeard?
"I see. You could eat the fruit. It's.. a reckless move. But I'll make sure that you'll be okay and I believe in you. If we have the fruit's powers by our side, we'll be stronger. That fruit is literally the opposite of all fruits. It has an ability akin to seastone against devil fruit users. I couldn't use my flames when he touched me with his darkness." Ace explained his newly made plan. Deuce nodded. That sounded quite strong. It'd be a nice helping hand for them if they had the fruit. But one question was still on his mind...
"But how do we get the fruit? Didn't you say that Thatch got it first?" Deuce asked. Ace nodded. That was a problem. How to get the fruit earlier.. They simply couldn't. Because the fruit was in the sea, they couldn't go and search for it. So, finding the fruit earlier wasn't an option even if they tried. They couldn't go to the same spot and try to fish it, both because they needed to be in the exact route as Moby Dick, which was almost impossible, and also they'd have already met the Whitebeards if they tried going there. Sighing, Ace analized the possible outcomes of the changes in their plan, and nodded to himself as he settled on one.
"I'm going to inform Thatch of that fruit. He doesn't like spooky shit. I'll just tell a lie and it'll be okay. Maybe then you could go to him and say you are fond of that fruit. He might give it to you depending on his mood." Deuce nodded. That sounded more like a plan, and less dangerous. Ace had said that Blackbeard attacked Thatch a few days after he found the fruit.
A few weeks have gone by. Deuce and Ace were still planning, contemplating on which move would be better. Ace would often tell stories about the Whitebeards. They were more than used to talking about them even if they both hadn't met them in this timeline. Ace remembered everything of them. Every single moment on his life with them. Deuce is originally from this timeline, so he wouldn't remember. But Ace still told him. He told Deuce how he was with the rest of the crew.
Ace has also been training his crew, including Deuce. They have all improved. Ace was also teaching them haki, which none knew about. It was reasonable, as most pirates find out about it once they have reached the end of Paradise and/or New World. Not many use it in Paradise. Ace knew and could use all three haki. Armament, Observation and King's Haki. He was mostly teaching armament haki to the crew, and also a bit of observation. Observation was harder to learn for them, but they were making efforts. And they also had time.
They have been ruining every marine bases they went to, and Ace had a bounty now. He was half-heartedly sure that the Whitebeards have seen their havocs now. He hoped they had. Because he needed their father's approval to be in the crew. To be honest, this was no different than what he'd done in the previous life. The problems he had caused for the navy was what made the old man like him. He wished for Whitebeard to like him again..
"Pfff- ahahahah!" Loud laughter echoed through the halls of Moby Dick, a few curious heads popping out of their rooms to see what was so funny.
"Thatch? Why are you laughing your stupid ass off?" The 16th division commander asked, said man turning to him with tears in his eyes. After calming down, he handed the news he's been reading and laughing at for the past half an hour. Izo took it and started reading, also bursting into laughter.
"This is gold!" Izo shouted, still reading the news. It was about some rookie crew causing troubles for the navy. What caused them to laugh was that.. the captain of said crew had revealed some very embarrassing information about the navy. It was remarkable. Haruta would pin this news paper in his room. How the culprit did this, they were unsure, but it was very funny. The culprit himself had a bounty, too. How did no one even notice him? Fire Fist Ace. He was a young man, maybe almost in his early twenties. Thatch said he was going to show this to their captain, and Izo said he would love to meet this man. Thatch agreed. It would be nice to meet him. Maybe make him a brother.
"Pops! Pops! Look at this!" Thatch called to Whitebeard as he approached him with the newspaper. Whitebeard took it and read through.
"Gurararara! This quite suits the navy, makes me wonder if old Sengoku is okay! Who did this, do we know?" Thatch happily nodded and gave the kid's bounty to his father. Eyeing the paper in his hands, Whitebeard laughed again. Ace looked like a nice boy. His bounty was high for someone who had just entered the Paradise a few weeks ago. He was covered in fire in the photo, meaning he was a devil fruit user. A rarety for someone that came from one of the weakest Blues.
"Pops, I want to meet this boy!" Thatch happily stated. Whitebeard smiled and said he would like to meet Ace too.
"Why don't we go and invite this young man in our family? I can tell he's a nice guy. He looks like he would fit in." Whitebeard said, and Thatch beamed.
"Hell yes!" They laughed. A new brother.. a little brother! He was so excited for getting Ace into the family. What kind of person was he? Would he like the pranks they did? Surely he would after that news on the paper! Haruta would also love him, too. And he could join their pranks!
"What do you think captain is doing?" Saber asked as Spade pirates' ship was docked on the shore of an island that was trading slaves and many valuable items underground. They'd found out about this island from an old friend of Mihar's. Ace commanded to go on the island the moment they learned this. Normally, they would have stayed for an hour and then leave, as one hour was enough for the log pose to be set. But Ace insisted on staying, and also made another weird command. That no one will leave the ship unless it's because of a danger. He went alone and not even Deuce was allowed to go with him.
"Whatever it is, it seems important. We could ask once he's back." Mihar answered his question, looking at the cards in his hands. They were playing card games out of boredom.
Ace was irritated with how underground trading islands like this one worked. There were too many filthy pirates and nobles here that he felt suffocated. But he had to keep it up. When he found out that this was an island of that sorts, he immediately thought of what Haruta had said. In his previous life, of course. Haruta had found out that many times the fruit has been put on auction and been reported seen on islands like this. And, obviously, Teach also gave these islands a visit. So, being on one, Ace was going to see if the fruit was here or not. Also Blackbeard. Before the incident, Blackbeard was constantly asking for separate time that was given to family members who needed it. Like, when something happened on their home islands, or when they wanted to see someone, or wanted to celebrate something by themselves, Whitebeard would give them the okay to go. Blackbeard would go very often. Haruta, as well as Ace, was sure that he was searching for the fruit in places like this. His underground name went by Blackbeard. That's what Ace is going to call him. He is no Marshall D Teach and obviously no friend nor brother. He is just Blackbeard. The perfect name for an enemy of Whitebeard. But stupidly childish.
He found nothing of the fruit. Literally. But, he did find something about Blackbeard. He'd visited this place before. So he's been searching from even this time. All the time, to be precise. He snapped a picture of Blackbeard's come-in history with the visual mini den den mushi he had. Ace was being extra cautious so no one saw him. He left silently and went back to the ship with little information on hand.
"Why are we going up there, cap? Isn't a Yonko crew there?" Skull asked as their little crew climbed up a mountain, in freezing cold and snow. Ace just laughed, and the crew shot him a terrified look.
"Don't tell me you're going to declare fight against them?!" Banshee asked fearfully, but thanks to whatever Gods were watching them from above, Ace shook his head no.
"No, I just want to say hi to him. There won't be any fights. If he's in a good mood." The last sentence was mumbled out, but everyone heard Ace very well and they all trembled in horror. How in the blazing hell is their captain going to say hi to a fucking Yonko and expect everything to go well?!
"Are you finally out of your mind, Ace?!" Mihar said to Ace and he just laughed it off. Sighing, and deeming it useless to talk with their captain right now.
"Don't worry! I know Shanks!" Ace said cheerfully. Although his happy tone, the crew members shivered in both cold and horror. Shanks?!
"You mean Akagami Shanks is up there?! Are you outta your mind?! They'll kill us, Ace!" Finamore said. Ace was just about to tell them that there won't be any problems, when another voice joined their conversation.
"Who's going to kill who?" And that's when the Spades realized that they were already in the cave. The Akagami pirates were in front of them, Shanks in the middle sitting down and eyeing them suspiciously. The crew took a few steps back while Ace stood his ground.
"Ah, we're not here for trouble. I just wanted to meet you, and thank you for something you've done." Ace said politely, tipping his hat with a smile. Shanks hummed, and asked what this was about. It wasn't everyday that some rookie pirate came to 'talk to him'. He wanted to know what this kid's true intentions were. Ace smiled brightly, and took a few steps in to be closer to Shanks. Deuce followed behind, a few steps from Ace.
"I've always wanted to thank you, Akagami Shanks, for saving my little brother Luffy." Ace said with a bow, and his words immediately changed Shanks's mood. He grinned, and laughed.
"I didn't know Anchor had a big brother! He never told me about you." Shanks said, happy to talk about Luffy. The little kid always made him happy and reminded him of his captain.
"At that time, we still hadn't met each other. After we did, he didn't stop talking about you. Said you gave him your straw hat and his dream to be the future king. We became brother by sharing sake cups. He's still at Dawn, though. We promised to set sail and become pirates at 17. Lu still has 3 years to wait." At this point, everyone had sat down and the Spades crew were inside the cave, sitting behind their captain. Ace was sitting in front of them all and in front of Shanks, facing him while talking about Luffy. Deuce was looking at him with a smile on. Benn, Lucky Roo and Yasopp and more others were all listening to Ace with fond smiles on their faces. They haven't seen the kid for years, and they all missed the little ball of sunshine.
"I see! Well, what are we waiting for? Let's party, c'mon!" Shanks shouted, and raised his sake cup. The other pirates cheered, and so on, the party started. Both crew members were chatting with each other, though being with a Yonko crew, the Spades felt safe that their captain and the Yonko were getting along. So they chatted without feeling nervous, and let themselves in the party. Deuce still kept an eye out just in case.
A little longer into the party, Shanks and Ace were sitting afar from their crews and talking. Ace decided it was a good time to ask Shanks for some information. He might have important information on Blackbeard.
"I have a little request, Shanks. It's nothing other than information on someone I'm trying to find out about. I would really appreciate it id you helped." Ace said seriously, despite the alcohol he'd taken in. Though, thanks to his fire powers, he can't really get drunk. Shanks got that the case was serious from Ace's tone, and nodded sternly.
"It depends on who you want to know of." The red-haired man said. Sighing once, Ace continued.
"His underground name goes by Blackbeard." Ace said, and Shanks' eyes widened.
"How do you know that name?" He asked, the happy demeanour on his face changing into a serious one in less than a second.
"The man hid himself as one of Whitebeard's sons. I want to inform them about him. His name is Marshall D Teach. But I need proof that it really is Teach, or otherwise I'll end up on the run with angry Whitebeard and his sons searching for me. You think you could help?" Ace explained. He of course cut out the fact that he was reborn and wanted to change the future. No way Shanks would believe that. Maybe, but Ace couldn't take in the risk right now. Shanks nodded, and thought for a moment before asking,
"Why do you want to help Whitebeard?" Now, how is he going to answer that? 'Oh, I'm actually his son from another life and want to save his possible death'?
"I owe it to one of his son's for saving someone very dear to me. And I want to inform them of Blackbeard as a repay." Ace sighed mentally. That was the best lie he got? And what will he say to who he owes it to? Himself? And what in the hell did he mean with saving someone dear to him? Maybe he's on drugs. Or it's the alcohol he can't get drunk of. But Shanks believed him! Or pretended, at least.
"I see. Whitebeard is very projective of his sons." -'I already know that.'- "And I don't know if you're right or wrong about this. But I do know that something is up with that Teach guy. I've heard of Blackbeard from many of my connections. They didn't say anything good. He's a man you should avoid. I'll give you everything I got of him, wait a min," Shanks said and got up, approaching Benn Beckman. He said something to the man and came back, while Benn left. Probably went to their ship. Not long after, -how fast is this guy?- Benn came back with some papers in his hands and handed them to Shanks before leaving to go back to the party. Shanks gave the papers to Ace, and he took them, folding and putting them in his pocket.
"I'll give you my own encounters with that man. Marshall D Teach, when I first met him, I was no Yonko but a rookie to Whitebeard's eyes. He indeed was Whitebeard's son at that time. Has been from the first years of their crew. He got me on my back there. Gave me a scar. This one," Shanks pointed to the scar on his eye. "He's fast. Strong. I've tried giving my warnings to the old man, but he never listened. Never does when it comes to family anyway. You should be careful about this, Ace. I don't really want Anchor to lose his big brother." Ace smiled. He said he wouldn't die to someone like Blackbeard, and Shanks laughed agreeing to him.
"Here, take this." The Yonko said, giving Ace a mini den den mushi. Ace took it, and stared at it. It had Shanks' scar on its eye. "I'll call you if I get my hands on some new information that could be helpful." Ace thanked him and put the mini den den in his pocket. Shanks was so nice. No wonder why Luffy looked up to him. They then dropped this talk to let the party flow. Party continued on for a long while, two crews collided with each other, the Spades forgetting they were with a Yonko crew and enjoying themselves. A lot of them ended up unconscious some time during the night, most likely from the side effects of too much alcohol. Both captains stayed awake, watching their crews and keeping an eye on each of them, feeling the fun themselves. When the next day came, Ace and his crew took their leave.
"Don't forget to be careful, kiddos. Grand Line isn't a nice place for rookies like you." Shanks gave advice before letting the rookie crew go on, seeming to like this crew. Especially Ace. Deuce, the first mate laughed and shook his head, nodding towards Ace.
"With a captain like him, it'll get worse and worse." The masked man said, and everyone laughed -excluding a certain fire brat-. Shanks agreed to him, noticing the brief similarities in Ace and Luffy. It'd indeed be tough for them. And so on, after giving the Yonko crew their good-byes, the Spades left to continue on their way..
The crew was so confused about how they should feel about the Akagami pirates now. They were sure all of them would die when Ace said he was in to say hi.. Onyl Acr, they thought. Only their captain was capable of these stupid, reckless shit. He is going to give everyone in the crew a heart attack.
I love Shanks aksmajdksnd
