A/N: I may post one more after this. I wasn't very happy with the epilogue, so I'm fidgeting with it. It was too short to begin with.

Cherry Pies and Backwards Baseball Hats

Chapter Twenty-Six

BPOV

26 weeks Pregnant

The mountain I was carrying around on my back felt like it was getting heavier and heavier.

Jake and Jose were being sued for custody from Sabrina's mother. I tried for a few weeks to play mediator between the two parties, but at my last doctor's appointment my blood pressure was a little elevated. Edward held his tongue the best he could until there was no one around to hear him, then he laid into me for letting Jake and Jose's issues get to me. I don't know why, but I felt obligated to help them. I consider Jake my brother, after all.

The high-risk specialist I was seeing, Dr. Golner, said if I continued to have high blood pressure, he was putting me on bed rest. I wasn't ready to go on leave from my job yet, so one of the three Cullens were constantly taking my blood pressure. It was always borderline, and I knew it had everything to do with Jake and Jose's court case. It was stressing me out to no end. They were just as stressed, but neither of them was walking around with two babies in their stomach's. I refuse to risk my health nor the twin's health.

Edward has been home by six and waits on me hand and foot. He's been taking care of dinner, bathing Ben, dishes and laundry. I had myself my very own Mrs. Doubtfire.

As our third wedding anniversary looms around the corner, and being very largely pregnant, all I wanted was a peaceful weekend to relax with my husband. My wonderful mother in-law offered to keep Ben for the whole weekend for some time to ourselves.

When I heard my husband come through the door from work, I glanced up and smiled from ear to ear. He hadn't had a haircut in ages, and with his hat attached to his head, the sides of his hair was curling up around the edges making him look like he was about to take fight. "What kind of wings you got sticking out from under your hat? Always or Stayfree?

He laughed and turned to look in the mirror that was on the wall just before you walk into the kitchen. "Damn," he cursed. "I didn't realize my hair was getting that long." Then he turned to look at me. "And these are man wings not feminine products."

Ben came running into the room and straight to his father. "Daddy up!"

Edward bent over to let Ben grip around his neck then stood up. Then they proceeded to pepper kisses on each others faces. Ben thought that was the funniest thing he's ever encountered.

Then we heard a screaming baby come through the front door. Jake came around the corner with Muna perched on his shoulder. She looked so tiny compared to her gigantic father.

"What's wrong?" I looked up as he came to a stop in front of me.

He sighed heavily. "I don't know. We've tried everything. She's not running a fever, so I don't know what else to do."

I raised my arms so he could hand her over to me. "What's wrong with Auntie's Puddin' pop?" I perched her up on my shoulder and she tried to latch on to the side of my cheek. "When did she eat last?"

"About an hour ago. She has a clean diaper, and we've even tried swaddling her, but she screams more."

There wasn't a whole lot I knew about pediatrics, but I knew enough to get by in a pinch. I only had one course during my training and knew enough to know what questions to ask.

I laid her down on the cushion next to me and pressed on her stomach a little. Her legs drew up. "She's gassy." I picked her up and laid her across my lap on her stomach. I started patting her back and bounced one leg slightly. "Get some Mylicon or Gripe water drops."

"We have the stuff that starts with a P."

Muna quieted after a few minutes to only grunting. "Have you given her any?"

"No. I just brought her over here."

Edward took Ben and went to our bathroom and got the bottle of Mylicon that we use. He handed them to me then I moved Muna around so I could give her the drops. "How much is she eating?" I dropped the recommended dose into her mouth and gave a little blow of air to her face so she swallowed it. "You may need to give her less but more frequently."

Ben scrambled for Edward to put him down then came over to me. He climbed up so he could see what I was doing. "Mommy, baby?"

He really hadn't seen her much, maybe a few times since she was born. "This is Muna. She's uncle Jake's baby."

"I your baby and daddy's baby?"

"Yes you are." I raised Muna to my shoulder again. She had stopped whining when I put the drops in her mouth.

Ben put his hand on my stomach. "Baby here, mommy?"

Edward pointed towards our room letting me know he was going to shower. "She's eating about 6 ounces."

"Drop it back down to four ounces for a couple of days to see if the gas clears up. If she's still acting like she's starving, try to make her wait about thirty minutes before you feed her the other two ounces. Give her the drops before she eats, though. That's just to give her belly a little time to settle. If she's not better by Monday, you'll need to take her in to see Emmett."

"What would I do without you?" Jake sat down next to me and wrapped his arm over my shoulders. He kissed my temple as he placed his hand on my stomach. "How's this little one?"

"Good, and exhausting." Muna let out a burp so loud that she was giving her daddy a run for his money. "I'm sure she feels a lot better, now."

"I heard her all the way in the bathroom," Edward said as he made his way through the hallway only wearing his basketball shorts and rubbing a towel over his head. "She's definitely your kid, Jake."

Jake laughed. "I think Benny has us all beat when it comes to farting."

"Daddy fart," Ben said. "Daddy fart on mommy."

We all laughed because it was true. Both of them loved to play fart on me by blowing on my skin to make fart noises. Little kid laughs are the most contagious sound I've ever heard.

After Jake left, my wonderful husband coaxed Ben to help him pull my shoes off and put them by the door. I rested a bit before changing and taking my seat back on the couch. Edward and Ben were in the kitchen getting stuff together for a quick dinner. I was surprised he hadn't ordered take-out.

I watched as my husband interacted with our son. He was so damn sexy the way he moved around. His shorts hung low on his hips and that damn baseball hat was taunting me as it sat beautifully perched backwards on his head. We all know what that does to me, and the sooner Benny got to bed, the quicker I could have my wicked way with him.

"Mmm...you gonna let me have some of your cherry pie, baby?" Edward eased his arm around me from behind and pulled me close. He rubbed over my mound where my clit started to throb for his attention.

I raised my leg so he could slip his hand into my panties. "I've been waiting for this since I watched you with Ben in the kitchen."

"Does me making dinner turn you on?" He slipped a finger between my slick center and eased it inside me. "Feels like you've been wet for a while."

"You know exactly what it is about you that turns me on." I raised my leg a little more as he started pumping his fingers in and out of me. I reached down and held on to his wrist to push it against me so he wouldn't pull them out. I wanted every last inch of him inside of me.

"You want me to put my hat back on?" He sped up his movements.

"You're killing me. No, I want your cock, right now."

My husband usually gives in when I beg and demand anything from him, and much like I've expressed before, I rarely turn him down for sex. Thankfully, he raised my leg a little higher, and was able to push inside me just a little. No matter how wet I was, little by little, he was able to get completely seated inside of me. "The best fuckin' cherry pie I've ever had."

There isn't a whole lot of positions we can get into, but my husband definitely knows how to rock my world.

Edward loves to watch me move over him. He says it's one of the most beautiful things he's ever seen especially with my rounded belly, and no matter how rough his hands are from his job, I love the way they feel on me. They're not that rough, but he definitely has a working man's hands.

We climbed back into bed after we cleaned up and resumed our original position with him behind me. The babies were letting their presence be known. "I like the name Chance."

Edward kissed my neck. "I like it, too, but they're not allowed to be rappers." He moved his hand over my stomach a little more in search of more movement. "I love you," he whispered against my ear. "I love you pregnant."

"I love you, too," I replied and raised my arm to slip around his neck. "And I love being pregnant by you." We both fell asleep to the movements our babies were making.

The following Monday morning, I found myself staring down at Alice's medical information. She has missed appointments, or rescheduled at least four times until I finally got her to agree to see me. When I was told she checked in at reception, that's when I started to scan quicker over her results.

When I walked into the room, Jasper was with her. She didn't give me time to greet her before she raised her hands up at me. "I know, I know. I should've been here weeks ago."

"And why exactly haven't you been here before now?" I stood at the counter and opened my laptop, again. "This is very important."

Alice looked over at Jasper. "We had a lot to discuss and other stuff to take care of."

I looked at her for a long minute before I sat down. I then clasped my hands together and rested them on my stomach. "Well, I really don't have a easy way to say this..."

Alice interrupted me. "Just tell us. We're prepared to hear whatever you say."

"Okay." I sighed heavily. "Your tests show some abnormalities in you liver. It could be a number of things, but we won't know for sure until we can do an MRI."

"Does this mean my wife has cancer?" Jasper asked, sadly.

"Not necessarily. It could be a form of cyst, a tumor or..." I shrugged my shoulders. "We really don't know right now."

I watched as Alice closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. "That's why my eyes look yellow."

"I wasn't sure you noticed," I simply stated. "That's usually the first sign of an issue with the liver."

"I noticed a while ago," Jasper said. "I watch her when she doesn't know it. My wife has the most beautiful eyes and when I noticed something different about them, I was afraid to say anything." I saw tears forming in his eyes as he spoke. "Besides our Rosie, Alice is the best thing that's ever happened to me and when you love someone as much as I love her, you'll notice when there's something different about the love of your life."

My professional face stayed in place longer than I expected it to. "We'll figure this out." I stood up and stepped over to two people that mean the world to me. "We'll do everything we can."

I finished up with my appointment with Alice and after we said our good-byes, I found myself in a puddle of tears in the bathroom. My heart was breaking for Alice and Jasper because the negative Nancy inside of me was pushing negative thoughts into my mind about my friend and aunt in-law. I knew that if they needed help financially, I'd give them every last cent I have just to make her better. I needed to make sure she stayed around to see her first grandchild. I knew what I needed to do next. I just hoped Emmett and Rosalie were up to it.

On my way to pick up Ben, I called my mom on the Bluetooth in my car. "I just wanted to call you and tell you I love you."

"Aweee...I love you, too, but is everything okay? You don't sound like yourself."

"I had to give a patient news today that I dreaded." I couldn't tell her it was Alice . HIPPA laws and all. Plus, she'd find out soon enough.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. That has to be hard on you."

"Yeah, you know I went into this profession because I love to help people but giving them horrible news breaks my heart so bad." I took a few deep breaths as I felt the tears sting the corner of my eyes. "I don't know if I can do this much longer, mom."

"Oh, honey, I know that giving someone bad news is part of the job, but sweetie, how often do you do that? You love your job; don't let one incident let you make the decision to quit."

"I know," I sighed heavily as I pulled along the curb in front of Al and Vicky's house. "I'm just feeling down today. I'm having pregnant brain." I switched the A/C off before turning my car off. "Hey, I'm here to get Ben. Thanks for listening to me."

"Anytime, sweetie. I love you. Kiss Benny for me."

"I will. I love you, mom."

I didn't stay long after I picked up Ben. I just wanted to get home and relax. My heart was hurting so bad for Alice, but most of all, my husband because she means the world to him. I know he'll be heartbroken just as I am, and definitely more if Alice's condition is worse than it is. I had to be strong because I can't be the one to tell him. HIPPA prevents me from doing so even if Alice is family. I needed to stay strong for all of us.

Thank you!
