Chapter Two

Raina walked up to the bunker, hesitantly, taking each step slowly and knocked three times.

At first, she just waited. Nothing happened; No sounds, no movements. She sat down on the bottom step, the fatigue from the exercise and the surprise of the situation. She wondered, as she sat down, if this was a hallucination. Perhaps she was sick.

After a few minutes of waiting, the anxiety got to her. she got up, and knocked again, thrice, jumping on the balls of her feet nervously. When a few seconds had passed, she knocked again, thrice. Again. And one more time when she raised her hand, the sound of feet came from the other side of the door, and she jumped back hastily, her hand flowing to her chest, for her heartbeat had become raised.

The door flew open, and Dean Frigging Winchester was standing at the door, pointing a gun at her.

"Who are you?"

Dean had been sleeping, although fitfully, before all the banging started. Sam had rushed into his room, as he woke up, to hear someone knocking on the bunker. The boys shared a look – who could be knocking at their door?

"Hey! What's the matter? Who are you?" Dean moved a step forward, and she tried to step back, hitting the wall. "Are you okay?" Dean lowered his gun as she rubbed the back of her head. He stood covering the door, his gun now hidden behind him, and he looked her over.

She looked like a runner. The headphones, the boots, the trackpants – at first, he thought she was lost runner who had found her way here. But he was still suspicious. Why would she knock? It didn't look like anyone lived here from the outside. Only those who knew what the bunker was could have really knocked.

"I – I'm Raina." She said, slowly. Dean revised his judgement. She looked panicked. Not lost. She knew where she was, by the look in her eyes. She looked at him like she knew him.

"Ray-nah?" Dean slowly pronounced her name, as he locked his eyes with hers. She nodded. "Yeah."

"So, what brings you here, Raina?" Dean leaned against the doorframe. "I need help." She took a step forward. She kept looking at Dean; Dean felt a little awkward with a strange girl staring so intently at him. She took a few seconds to register his next question, and he had to wave his hand in her face to break her gaze.

"What kind of help?" Dean wondered what new strangeness was at his door.

She took a deep breath, and fixed her gaze at Dean's knees. "I know you boys have seen a lot of strange stuff," Dean stood up straighter at the mention of 'the boys'. She knew them, he was now sure. His hand flew towards the gun. "But I just appeared outside the bunker. From thin air. Literally." she pointed towards a spot in front of the bunker.

"You just appeared here?" Dean nodded towards the road. "And where did you come from?"

"Uhhh…another universe?" She announced awkwardly, shrugging her shoulders.

"Another Universe," He cocked his head to the side; He had not expected the girl to say that.

"Dean?" Sam reached the door, leaning over Dean to take a look at their guest.

"Sammy?" She said, almost as if in a dream, and both boys fixated on her with attention. "What did you say?" Dean moved closer to her, his suspicions rising.

"Sam. He's Sam." She pointed towards Sam, who was flustered at being recognized. "Yes. I'm Sam. Who are you?"

"I –

"She's Raina. She's from another Universe." Dean's voice carried a little sarcasm, and she winced at it.

"Oh. Okay. Why don't you come in and tell us all about it?" Dean felt Sam's hand on his shoulder, and agreed to invite the girl in.
