Chapter Three
"So, Raina. You say you're from a different universe?" They were sitting at the table in the library.
Dean got out a silver knife and a flask. "Look, we want to believe you, but we just need a little confirmation that you're human." Sam took the flask from Dean. "There are monsters in this world, and we just want to make sure you aren't one."
But before he could say or do anything, she stretched her hand out, plucked the flask from Sam's hand and poured a little holy water from it on her hand. "I'm not a Demon." She handed him the flask back, as she turned towards Dean. "I'm also not a shifter, or werewolf, or other stuff that silver hurts." She took the knife by the blade from Dean and waved it at them, Sam openly smiling now at Dean's expression.
"So, what is your story?" Sam leaned back into the chair, as Dean took back the knife, smirking a little.
"I'm human. But I'm not from this world. I – You are the Winchester boys. Hunters. I need your help because, uhm, the best way to put this is – Do you remember Balthazar?" She looked from one boy to the other.
"You know Balthazar?" Sam raised his eyebrows.
"I – not personally. Look, you remember he send you to an alternate reality where Supernatural, your story, was a TV show?"
"How do you know that?" Dean leaned forward, spinning the knife on the tabletop. "Well, when I say I'm from an alternate universe, -
Both Sam and Dean sat up straighter. "So - you're from – that universe?"
"Well, not that one specifically, but another one like it. You remember what happened when you boys jumped into that Universe?"
Sam nodded. Their eyes locked for a few seconds, and Sam answered her question. "We were there for a short time – there were killings, weren't there?"
"Well, in my Universe that didn't happen. But in all other respects – oh, god, what I mean to say – in my Universe, Supernatural is a TV show. It's still airing. Misha is alive –
"Misha?" Sam couldn't understand why suddenly the girl's hand flew to her mouth – he was sure she was trying to stifle a laugh, and he wondered why. "Yea, Misha, the actor who plays Cas – Castiel." Her eyes lit up, and smile widened at the mention of this Misha. Apparently, she liked him.
"Oh. So – So you're a – a – Fan, of the show," Dean said 'Fan' as if the word tasted bitter in his mouth. Sam sighed. He knew Dean's emotions on the topic. As far as the supernatural books went, he shared that sentiment.
"Yes. I'm a Fan." She answered back, almost defiantly. Sam had a little smile on his face, as he looked from Raina to Dean. She was standing up to his brother, who was about the most intimidating man Sam knew.
"Son of a bitch." Dean ran his hands through his hair. "So how did you get here?"
Raina described her morning for them, telling them about the bright sunlight and her sudden apparition into their world. The boys listened intently, trying to catch a sign or clue to anything familiar.
"So, uh - "Raina." She added. "Raina. You're from another Universe, you're a College student, and uh – your universe has no magic, monsters, anything whatsoever." Sam summarized.
"Yes."
Sam took in her appearance, her voice, her accent, but was not quite able to place her. "Where are you from though? I mean, you don't look American. You –
"I'm Indian. I come from India." She fussed a little with her earphone wires dangling around her neck, and her face was flustered. She slumped into her chair, and her breathing was a little ragged. "Do you – would you like some water?" Sam stood up, moving towards the kitchen. She nodded tiredly.
When Sam came back with the water, Dean was standing in a corner, his phone to his ears. "Cas?" Dean nodded. "He isn't answering." Dean cut the call, pressing vehemently.
"I'll call Bobby." Sam took out his phone, and was about to dial as he heard the scraping of the chair, and Raina stood up.
"Bobby?"
