Duo Halfbreeds

Chapter Two: New Beginnings

About an hour has passed since Goku's death and Gohan's kidnapping.

Having had some time to rest and a good portion of his energy returned, Piccolo decided it was time to wake Goten and threw him in a nearby body of water that was rather cold, shocking him awake. Goten shot up, puzzled and stunned.

"W-Wha?" Goten whipped his head around as he took in his surroundings instantly realizing he was in an unfamiliar area. "W-Where am I? Where's my Daddy? And my brother?!" Tears began to form in the corner of his eyes as a feeling of loss emerged in him.

Piccolo seemed irritated by Goten's response. "Your father is dead and your brother has been kidnapped." He said, bluntly.

Goten froze for a split second as his eyes went wide. "W-What?!" He cried. "You're lying!"

Piccolo growled viciously. "Quiet!" He yelled. Goten straightened his posture and sucked in his tears out of reflex. "If you wanna help them then you best listen to what I have to say." Goten nodded in response, gulping and biting his lips. "In two years time, your Uncle will return with two of his comrades, and I will train you in preparation for them. Either you'll be ready to fight or die, those are your options."

"B-But I can't fight..I don't even know how." Goten whined. "And there's no way I can fight someone that's stronger than my Daddy. He only just started to teach us how to fight this morning."

Piccolo scoffed. "Is that so? How about we make a bet." He replied, a malicious and wicked grin on his face quickly formed and Goten couldn't help but feel a sense of fright from seeing it. Before Goten knew it, he was picked up by his head and thrown at rapid speeds. "Survive this!"

Goten screamed as loud as he could, hoping someone could hear him and help him. His mind had quickly feared the worst and his heart raced as he was heading for a rock formation. For Goten it was all in a blink of an eye but not so much for Piccolo.

When Goten got closer and closer to the rock formation, and nothing had changed Piccolo feared he made a grave mistake. That was until Goten reached a foot away from the rock formation, when Goten realized he had stopped, he opened his eyes.

"H-Huh?" Goten looked confused, he was…upside down? He could see the rock formation in front of him and the ground below him as well. "W-What the…" Goten tried to move or do something and that only caused him to rotate randomly until he dropped to the ground a few seconds after.

Piccolo looked intrigued. "Strange…I expected something more…destructive.." He thought out loud. Despite the different reaction, there was something else, something Piccolo sensed and although he was unsure about it, he wouldn't be surprised if it was true.

It was a short spike in power, right before Goten stopped himself. It was hard for Piccolo to believe but seeing as Gohan already had an intense burst of energy from earlier, he knew it to be true. "For Goku to produce one child as powerful is already insane as it is, but two?!" He realized his plans of World Domination could've been foiled had he found this out way later.

He walked up to Goten whose face was still as perplexed as ever. "W-What happened?" Goten asked.

"Your body reacted to what felt natural, its instincts kicked in and picked up a trick." Piccolo explained. "It must've figured that out when Raditz had you and your brother earlier when he kidnapped you two. Enough so that your body knows what flying is like."

Goten took a second to process what Piccolo said and then his face turned into a shocked demeanor. "Y-you mean I can fly!?" He gasped.

"Fly and so much more if you stick with me." Piccolo replied. "Don't ever doubt yourself and you'll see yourself become the strongest the universe will ever know! Then we'll be able to save your brother and get back at the man who killed your father!"

Goten's gaze lowered for a second, he continued to process his thoughts, he seemed reluctant but after taking a hard swallow, his demeanor changed to pure determination. "Yes!" He said, standing up straight.

Piccolo formed a smirk on his face. "Good! That's the kind of attitude that will get you far and wide!"

"Aaaaggh! This damned brat!" Raditz yelled. On a planet that soil was a color gray and the trees colored a dark orange, and water that was strangely yellow, stood Raditz near a campfire, his pod, and Gohan who was crying. "I can't think straight with his incessant whining! What a complete waste!"

He walked off towards the woods in hopes of giving himself some quiet space to think and after walking about a couple hundred feet away, his scouter made a beeping sound. In response, Raditz pressed the big white button on his scouter.

A strange sly and low toned voice spoke from his device. "How did it go?" The voice asked. "Did you get Kakarot?"

Raditz sighed heavily. "As you could imagine from the transmission I sent earlier, Prince Vegeta, no." He answered. "The idiot lost his memory, thought he was one of those weak earthlings, and regardless of any attempt I made, there was no chance of him joining." He leaned back against the tree behind him. "I at least assured his death before I left."

"Another waste of a trip then?" Vegeta said. He gave a frustrated growl and a loud slam could be heard in the background. "I don't know how I'm going to explain this to Lord Frieza!" He gave an exasperated sigh. "Oh well. Did you at least clean the planet or gain anything useful from the trip?"

"Not quite." Raditz replied. "You were right about the scouters. They aren't getting better, they're getting worse, more inaccurate, either that or the entire universe suddenly learned how to mask their energies." He raised his shoulders and sighed. "Either way, these are basically just coms at this point."

"Told you." Vegeta said. "Even as coms they tend to be unreliable."

"I thought I had gotten something of value out of Earth but I began to wonder if I was wrong." Raditz explained. "Kakarot had a brat…well he had two, but I only managed to grab one of them. He possesses incredible potential but all he does is cry. I'm starting to think I should just eradicate him instead."

"And why haven't you?" Vegeta asked. "If that's the case he sounds to be non-beneficial. No reason to babysit him."

"Options, I'm still considering all of them before I do." Raditz answered. "I've already gone pretty far in, might as well exhaust every possible option before jud-aagh!" He clenched his chest around the area Gohan slammed into him before.

"Sounds like a number has been done to you." Vegeta said, stating the obvious. "Return to the closest base and heal up. We still need you for Planet I-J97, which would be outnumbered otherwise. After you heal up I want you to figure something out for the brat and report after. In the meantime, Nappa and I will take care of Earth."

"Very well." Raditz replied. He straightened his posture and started to walk back. "Oh and by the way, I did find something else out. Dragon Balls. It's possible Earth has wish granting orbs, might be able to make a use out of that."

"It appears your trip wasn't completely wasteful after all then." Vegeta said. "Alright, I'm out, got some preparations to do."

Raditz removed his finger from the big white button and pressed a smaller, very light opaque yellow button next to it. He continued to walk back to the campsite and noticed that Gohan was nowhere to be seen.

Raditz raised a brow. "So the runt thinks he can escape?" He scoffed. "Fine. I'll play along then." He pressed another button on his scouter and looked in all sorts of directions til it read one that said five. Raditz shook his head in disappointment. "Too easy."

Gohan ran and ran as fast as he could, his thoughts only panning to hoping he could find his dad. He was without the realization that he was on a distant planet, lightyears away, and had no idea that his father was long dead.

"Gotta run…" Gohan thought, his head whipping in several different directions. "I'll find you, Daddy!" The more he ran through the forest, he couldn't recognize it. It was strange, gray ground, dark orange trees, red bushes, it made no sense to him as he had never heard of such a place. He assumed it was something he hadn't heard of yet.

However, he ended up tripping over a rock, falling forward, when he pushed himself back up, he saw a familiar tall silhouette. Immediately Gohan flipped around and ran as fast as he could in the opposite direction of the silhouette.

However, the silhouette appeared in front of Gohan again, causing him to fall back. As Gohan tried to crawl back, the silhouette revealed himself in the light, obviously being Raditz who formed a wicked and amused grin on his face.

"Well well…" Raditz chuckled.

Gohan swallowed hard then screamed. "G-Go Away!" He cowered with fear and stopped crawling. "GO AWAY!"

Raditz raised an eyebrow. "What?" He said. "Don't wanna hang out with ol Uncle Raditz?"

"No! You're m-mean…and..AND A BIG JERK!" Gohan yelled, quickly sticking his tongue out before giving an immediate return to cowering as his Uncle gave an intimidating look.

"What? That's it?" Raditz shook his head in disappointment. "And for a moment I thought you would actually stand up for yourself." He gave a heavy sigh. "But what did I expect from some filthy halfbreed."

"Go away!" Gohan whined. "I want my Daddy!" He got up and tried to take off but only to have a similar result as moments ago.

Raditz sighed with exasperation. "Listen here, brat." He spoke up, beginning to look both irritated and angry. "You're going to do as I say and quit your crying…OR ELSE!"

"Or else what?" Gohan remarked.

"Or else I'll leave you here, stranded on this planet, where there'll be no one to help you but dangerous wildlife to eat and kill you!" Raditz growled. He paused for a split second, his gaze moving upward for a second then back. "Y'know that's not actually a bad id-...nah.."

"S-Stranded? A-Another Planet?! WHAT?! What do you mean another planet!?" Gohan gasped. "We're not on another planet!"

Raditz laughed heavily. "Ahaha! Did you really believe you were still on Earth?" He rolled his eyes and pointed to the area around them. "Look around runt! You're not in your homeworld anymore. You're gone, light years from home."

Gohan's mouth hung open, he didn't want to believe it but it would explain all the weird colored trees and the soil. As much he refused to believe it, he knew it was true, his gaze and head lowered as a sense of defeat washed over.

"I'll repeat myself one last time. Do as I say or would you rather care to find out about which plant could eat you first?" Raditz asked. Gohan got up reluctantly, giving a nod to Raditz. "That's what I thought. We'll return to my pod, I don't want to hear a single thing out of you for awhile til I say so, got it?"

Again Gohan nodded and followed Raditz quietly all the way back to the pod

"So what do I do f-first?" Goten asked.

"First. Quit your stuttering." Piccolo answered. "When you speak, speak confidently and boldly. As for training, you'll have to survive six months in the wild first, if you can do that then maybe I can make a warrior out of you yet."

Goten's eyes widened. "W-What?! THE WILD?!" He gasped. "You can't leave me here in the wild! There's like Lions! And Dinosaurs and other animals that'll eat me!"

"Quiet!" Piccolo yelled. Goten flinched and swallowed hard as he closed his mouth tightly. "If you want any chance of saving your Brother or avenging your Dad, you will quit whining and stop acting like a crybaby. I'll return in six months! If you haven't changed by then, then there will be no training! Got it?"

Goten nodded. "Y-Yes Sir!" He said. He watched as Piccolo flew off and left him, quickly realizing how alone he was.

On a somewhat more distant planet, bizarre to Gohan, Raditz and him arrived shortly a day later. This planet was a dwarf planet, small and used for a single purpose, and on here was a large building, a center of some sorts.

Raditz had Gohan follow him into the large dome-ish building but on the way, Raditz noticed Gohan wasn't keeping up, so he grabbed by wrapping his tail around his right leg and holding Gohan upside down.

"H-Hey! What're you doing?!" Gohan said. He tried to struggle free. "Put me down!"

Raditz rolled his eyes. "No."

"No?" Gohan tilted his head. "What do you mean no? C'mon put me down! I can walk myself!"

Raditz stopped and sighed. "No, you're too slow and you respond poorly to commands." He answered. "This is far more efficient and if you struggle, I'll make it painful for you." Gohan shut his mouth tight and gulped.

"Can you at least put me right side up?" Gohan asked.

Raditz sighed exasperatedly and threw Gohan up several feet in the air. Gohan frantically moved his hands and screamed as he feared hitting the ground til Raditz's tail grabbed Gohan by his waist, making it look like Gohan was hanging over a ledge or something.

In this building, massive amounts of Kiosks and Stores could be seen as Raditz passed by it all. After a little while, Raditz reached a strange area. The Entrance had a big green plus on the front, and inside were strange chambers, a counter full of medicine, first aid kids, and other health related items.

Raditz walked up to an empty chamber and by it was a keypad with a little circular slot below it. Raditz placed Gohan down on a bench next to it.

"Stay right here. If I find out you moved even an inch there will be consequences." Raditz spoke up. "Also there's nowhere for you to run, so I'll make this clear now, nobody and I mean NOBODY in here will help you. Got it?"

Gohan nodded. "Where are you going?"

"To heal up." Raditz answered, taking his armor off but keeping some clothes on. He entered the chamber in front of them after pressing a few things on a keypad and inserting a strange circular item into the slot. The chamber attached an oxygen mask to Raditz's face and filled the chamber with green liquid which caused Raditz to float naturally.

Goten had seen better days and today was definitely not one of them. For the last few hours, he's done nothing but run from wild animals, from large to small, tiny to enormous, even the aquatic life tried to get to him.

Everything that lurked below and above were ready to dine as today was bright as the Sun could be with no clouds in sight. The wind was nonexistent as well, meaning the conditions of the weather were perfect for some predators of the day to strike.

Despite a beautiful day, Goten was unlucky to encounter a large Tyrannosaurus Rex, which chased Goten down.

"Aaaaah! Leave me alone!" Goten screamed. He was quickly cornered into a wall, which he tried several times to climb up, only to slide back down on the dirt shortly after. Each time he would try harder and harder as the T-Rex closed in. He soon thought he was done for as it swooped in to bite him but like yesterday he did something miraculous.

As he pulled his left arm to help lift himself up, he strangely shot up high in the area almost like a super jump, narrowly missing the T-rex's chomp, instead the t-rex had bitten rocks and dirt. When the dinosaur noticed Goten was gone, he was left confused but took immediately off.

As for Goten, having been over forty thousand feet in the air, came crashing down and for a moment, he blacked out, only to reawaken and scream out of fear. As he approached the ground, only a few feet away, his body reacted causing him to float and stop before impact.

Goten opened his eyes to see the ground. "H-Huh.." He dropped instantly after, slightly confused. He let out a sigh of relief as he thought he was safe, assuming he gained a break. However, that cease fire was quick to end as a loud roar from a nearby Badger Bear frightened Goten.

Goten turned, his eyes went wide, and he panicked, running in the opposite direction. The badger bear had retractable claws that were stronger than steel, hide tough as iron, and weighed over three hundred lbs.

When Goten ran, the bear took it as a challenge with full acknowledgement of Goten's capabilities as it gave him a head start. Goten didn't know where to go, so he ran and ran as fast as he could, the next thing he knew, he could hear this fast and loud stomping, branches and bushes being easily broken.

Goten flinched and instinctively closed his eyes by mistake as he feared the worst, causing him to trip over himself and fall face flat. He started to push himself up a few seconds later but then he could hear the Badger Bear, super close up.

Goten shivered and shook as he turned, seeing the bear about ten feet away when the bear lunged, Goten turned, looking away as what he feared came. Again, something miraculous happened, and Goten emitted a massive amount of ki that blew the bear away by several hundred yards.

When Goten noticed that what he thought was coming never came, he opened his eyes, noticing the bear was gone, feeling relief before he passed out due to exhaustion.

Gohan sighed to himself, his eyes wandering off to the right. "He's been in there for awhile…" His gaze moved to Raditz and then back to the exit. He began twiddling with his fingers as he glanced back and forth from Raditz to the exit then decided to make a run for it.

He got up and ran but a split second after he could hear the machine beep. Gohan froze as he heard the hatch open, too afraid to turn and swallowing hard as he heard his Uncle's voice.

"Are you trying to escape from me, boy?" Raditz spoke up.

Again Gohan gulped as he turned and hesitantly shook his head. "N-No…I was j-just.."

"You were? Weren't you? What did I tell you if you tried to leave?!" Raditz growled.

"I w-wasn't! I swear! I was j-just stretching!" Gohan answered.

Raditz raised an eyebrow, as he thought about the direction Gohan was heading in, then he noticed something. "You're not a very good liar." Raditz replied. "You were faced in the direction of the exit and you expect me to believe you were only stretching?" The young halfbreed's tail lowered as it instinctively, from a sense of danger.

"I was!" Gohan said.

"You're gonna lie to your Uncle like that?" Raditz asked, crossing his arms. "I'm not stupid, boy."

Gohan bit his lips, his gaze lowered for a second then he made an angry smirk. " 're not my Uncle." He mumbled.

Raditz raised a brow. "What? Speak up!"

Gohan gritted his teeth angrily. "I said you're not my Uncle! AND I'M NOT YOUR NEPHEW!" He yelled. Raditz made an intimidating look and gave a low growl, which for a second made Gohan's demeanor falter but Gohan shook it off. "You're a stupid bully and I want to go home!"

"So the brat does have some back bone after all." Raditz seemed a bit surprised and intrigued. "Maybe you do have a little Saiyan after all."

"I'm not a Saiyan. I'm Human, stop calling me that!" Gohan snarled.

Raditz scoffed. "Whether you like it or not, Saiyan blood runs in your veins and every fiber of your being." He replied. "So stop denying and accept your heritage!"

Gohan shook his head. "No! I'm not.. I'm not a mon-" A powerful fist sent Gohan from one side of the building to the next and outside, crashing through several kiosks, walls, and windows. Gohan slid across the ground, pushing dirt up behind him.

His clothes were tattered, his body now covered in various cuts, and several bruises, he weakly tried to get up, although he didn't know why, it was most likely out of instinct. When he got to his knees, he lifted his head up, his first sight being his Uncle.

All of Gohan's earlier confidence disappeared and turned into fright. Raditz grabbed Gohan by his tail which caused him to lose all mobility. "H-Hey wh-..." Before Gohan knew it he was unconscious again. When he reawoke, he was in a darker area, a place more ominous. "H-Huh?" He pushed himself up and whipped his head around, he could barely see.

"If you're gonna disobey your orders, you're gonna get punished." Raditz's voice echoed through the room. Gohan tried to make out where he was but couldn't. Appearing out of nowhere, Raditz slammed his fist into Gohan's gut. Gohan fell to his knees immediately and clenched his stomach as he gasped for air. "This is how it works, I make demands, you follow! IMMEDIATELY!"

Raditz picked Gohan up by the neck of his shirt. "Not a few seconds after, not when you want to." He threw a fist into Gohan's right cheek. "And If I hear a remark like you did earlier…I'll end you."

"P-Pl.." Gohan tried to utter any words but he was too weak and every little movement hurt. Raditz released his grip on Gohan's shirt and then blasted a kiai wave at Gohan which sent him yards and yards away.

A few seconds after, Raditz checked on Gohan to see if he was still alive. "He's a little more resilient than I thought." Raditz picked him up by the collar of his shirt. "I don't see any fatal injuries, might've broken a couple of bones but he can heal that up in no time."

He stopped for a second as a thought occurred to him. "Before we meet the others, I think it's best we get you some proper clothes."

Night has fallen for young Goten, the only thing keeping him awake is intense hunger. His lack of energy could've told anyone that his stomach had also rumbled loudly.

"S-So..h-hungry." Goten uttered. He pushed himself to his knees, his body slightly shaky, and tried to straighten his posture only to fall back to his knees then to the ground. A puff of dust blew off around Goten as he collided into the ground. Again he got up and tried. "M-Must..get..food."

He crawled forward, trying to find a source of food until he could crawl no more. Eventually, he turned to lay on his back, gazing in the stars, he could barely think with all this hungeraches, yet he still tried, then something caught his eye.

He had never seen the stars before and thought they looked nice. "Why is it so bright out if it's night time though?" He noticed. Goten thought it was strange so he moved his eyes around until he could find the source. There was a strange white yet soothing light behind him, it felt…energizing almost, enough that Goten managed to sit up straight and turn around.

There his eyes gazed upon the moon. "W-Woah…I didn't know the Moon looked like..this." He paused, his mouth reluctantly closing and his eyes staring immensely. He began to fall into some kind of trance as his eyes turned red, then a thump echoed through his body.

A thump from his heart, it went every five seconds, until a total of forty-five seconds had passed, then every 3 seconds for another 15 seconds, and every second thereafter. Faster and faster it thumped as his body massively started to change.

He started to grow, his muscles pumped, fur grew, and his head changed. He grew fangs and grew taller, quicker and quicker with every second passing, his power rapidly skyrocketed, his head formed a shape into that of an ape.

Within a mere moment, Goten was no longer a little child but a massive hulking great ape that stood over forty feet tall. His transformation however had not gone unnoticed…

Not far from here Piccolo took notice. His demeanor now tense and shocked. "T-This power?! What is this?!" He moved from his meditating stance immediately, flew up and looked around. In the distance, the far distance, he saw something that he could not believe. "W-What the hell is that thing?!"

His thoughts were quick to come up with ideas. "Is that the brat?! But how!?"

The beast had gone on a rampage destroying everything in sight, smashing and throwing large boulders, as well as unleashing powerful blasts from his mouth.

Piccolo was unable to find Goten and sense his small ki signature, he knew it had to be him but again he wondered how. Piccolo moved in somewhat closer but still kept a safe distance until the Great Ape had jumped towards Piccolo although not at him.

The Great Ape's tail nearly slammed into Piccolo as he narrowly dodged it. His eyes went wide. "Crap! Not good!" Piccolo distanced himself further, giving about a few hundred feet of distance. "How do I stop that thing?"

He threw an energy blast at it, but the Great Ape was unfazed, still throwing boulders. "Okay, let's try something a little stronger!" Piccolo brought his hands to his forehead. "Masenko-Ha!" He unleashed the blast to the beast's face and as it collided, it pushed the beast's head, causing his balance to falter and him to stumble sideways.

Goten was able to rebalance himself with ease however, and he seemed mad. He threw a fist at Piccolo and Piccolo barely avoided the attack. Goten tried to slam his foot into Piccolo but Piccolo was quick to fly away.

Once Piccolo gained more ground, he raised his hand into the air and gathered energy above it. He threw his hand shortly after and fired it at the ground, this caused absurd amounts of smoke and dust to appear, giving Piccolo an opportunity to vanish.

"That was a waste of time, now what?" Piccolo wondered. His gaze moved around the area til he noticed a bright light behind him which caused his memory to jog.

"We Saiyans are capable of transformation at a full moon! It unlocks our potential!" something Raditz had said from earlier.

"The full moon, huh?" Piccolo turned completely to the moon, and gathered energy in his right hand. "So If I destroy it…" Closing his hand and causing the energy surrounding him to swirl inside his fist, he hurled it forward, reopening his hand to unleash the blast.

The blast struck with the moon, a couple seconds after and blew up into dust with ease. At around the same time, Goten had stopped completely, Piccolo turned to face him in time to see him de-transform.

Once Goten completely deformed, Piccolo flew over to him, landing next to him. Piccolo surveyed the surroundings, rock formations were completely vaporized, there were several craters, and acres from afar were obliterated.

Piccolo's eyes went wide. "If a boy could do this much damage….then I could hardly imagine the amount of destruction two powerful adults could cause." He said. Piccolo turned back to Goten and grabbed his tail. "The secret to their power is their tail, it allows them to transform into a Great Ape, and if that's the case, I'd best remove the runt's tail."

Piccolo gave a quick snap, making the tail come clean off. He pointed his hand at Goten, and several yellow rings emitted, Goten was quickly clothed with a similar jumpsuit to that of his dad, but with longer blue sleeves and a kanji on the back that said "DEMON!".

"I guess we have an advantage now, there's no moon for them to transform." Piccolo said, looking at the moon. He turned his gaze back to Goten. "Perhaps a Weapon could be of use to you." Piccolo pointed his fingers at the ground, materializing a quiver, small shortbow, plus a little dagger. "There that should do it, something to hunt with, and a little multi-purpose dagger. This will be the last favor I do for you."

A month passed, Raditz arrived in the Uran system, on a small dwarf planet, where he met up with two others in a large underground-bunker like area.

"Took you long enough." A voice spoke. This belonged to a slightly short man with tall spiky flame-like hair. He donned a blue jumpsuit and a mostly white battle suit with light-brown secondary colors as well as pointed shoulder pads. He had white gloves and white boots, the boots having a brown pointed tip.

Raditz sighed with exasperation. "Hey, I wanna see you practically babysit a four year old, then try complaining." He answered.

The voice gave a short chuckle. "Thought you said you've worked out some options?"

Raditz shrugged as he walked forward to the table and sat down, Gohan following reluctantly behind him. Gohan now donned a new suit, it was a black jumpsuit and a mostly dark battle suit with dark-green secondary colors, no shoulder pad, with white outline as well.

"At first it looked like it but it has yet to go anywhere." Raditz explained. "I've already spent money on his damn battlesuit, I don't wanna waste that but I'd rather just give up."

"I might have a few ideas but we can talk later about that." Vegeta replied. "First, I wanna know details about your trip on Earth."

Raditz nodded. "To make it brief, I arrived on Earth about a month ago, with hopes that Kakarot was still alive. And alive he was, however it was apparent that he hadn't done his job at all, the planet still has all of its inhabitants."

"To top it off, Kakarot not only lived and befriended these miserable creatures but also bred with them." He pointed to Gohan who made a glare but knew better now than to say something. "He even learned from them and while I'll admit some techniques are impressive, that backwater planet is still nothing short of trash."

"Did you happen to pick anything up?" Vegeta asked.

Raditz shook his head. "Not really. There was one, they could sense without scouters, I haven't quite figured it out yet." He said.

Nappa's eyes went wide. "Sensing without a scouter?! Are you telling me this backwater planet's got advanced techniques like that?" He gasped. He was large, bulky, bald, and donned a similar outfit to that of Raditz's, prior to being damaged of course. The difference was the color scheme, it had dark navy blue in some areas with light-brown in other areas, as well as a white outline.

Vegeta placed his index finger against his chin. "That might be useful but I guess it won't matter til we can see it in action for ourselves." He said. "On our trip back, we'll pay more attention. Do you have any other details."

Raditz nodded. "I tried to convince my brother to join me, join us, but he refused and refused til the end." He said, with anger laced in his voice. "I realized I needed other methods of convincing him, I was originally aiming for a bald dwarf, but I noticed his two brats." His gaze moved to Gohan. "And as you can see I was successful with one of them."

"Yeah and we all know how that's turned out so far." Nappa added.

Raditz shrugged, laying back. "Either way, I'm stuck with him now." He replied. "The brat possesses incredible potential but he only whines, cries, and complains all day." He sat back up. "And as much as I hate to admit it, his power almost approached mine at one point."

Vegeta's interest seemed piqued, his eyes slightly widening. "How close are we talking?"

"Thirteen Hundred." Raditz answered. The other two froze, Vegeta's mouth slightly hung open, and Nappa's jaw was completely slacked.

"T-Thirteen Hundred? That's gotta be a wrong reading!" Nappa said. He turned to face Vegeta. "Vegeta, that's-"

"I know." Vegeta cut him off. "We would've exterminated someone that high of a powerlevel on Planet Vegeta cause it was believed to be dangerous, especially one coming from a halfbreed." He crossed his arms and sighed.

Vegeta's eyes darted to Gohan as he heard a quiet yet still noticeable growl but by the time Vegeta looked, Gohan was already gazing down. Vegeta shrugged and brushed it off for now.

"Y'know, If breeding with these Earthlings provides excellent results, perhaps we could restore a small portion of the Saiyan race." Nappa suggested. "We could have our own…army, Vegeta."

Vegeta raised a brow. "Perhaps, it's not a terrible idea but we need further examination and tests before deciding that. Best we avoid having an army of mutations and deformities." His gaze moved back to Raditz. "Is that all?"

"Almost.." Raditz answered. "Despite his high power level, it seems to only come out as the result of intense anger. Nothing else I have tried works, and only the few moments he's actually tried to defy me, were there glimpses of it."

"I see.. Then we could end up with an uncontrollable army if that's the case." Vegeta pointed out. "Best we focus on the brat as a test dummy beforehand." His gaze moved to the boy then back to Raditz. "You said Kakarot had two brats?"

Raditz nodded. "Yea but I could only grab him."

"Did the other one show any promising results?" Vegeta asked.

Raditz shook his head. "Not that I know of. I'm unsure if he's unlucky or just needed some.. encouragement but I chose who I thought had worthwhile potential." He answered. "Aside from all that, I did find some reason to go back."

"The Dragon Balls you mentioned, correct?" Vegeta said.

"Yeup. Before I had made an escape, Kakarot suffered some…fatal injuries and the green one thought I had no energy left, so thinking he had it in the bag he was nice enough to note about these seven wishing orbs."

Nappa's face lit up. "You hear that, Vegeta?! We can wish for immortality!"

Vegeta nodded. "Yes. This is excellent news, It appears heading to Earth wasn't a waste after all."

"That's what I thought, he was saying that Kakarot would be able to return in some way and let a little too much information come out." Raditz added. "Now..the brat.. What should we do about him?"

Vegeta made a curious look. "I'd like to examine him for a moment." He stood up, pushing his seat backwards, then pushed his seat towards the table as he walked towards Gohan. "What's your name, runt."

Gohan gulped. "G-Gohan." He stuttered.

"Eh. Nah I like runt better." Nappa chuckled. Gohan gave him a glare til he felt a strange intimidating pressure, quickly realizing it came from Vegeta and removed his glare after.

"Okay, Gohan, How about we play a little game." Vegeta replied. "I want you to run."

Gohan looked confused. "R-Run? What do you mean?"

"Run as fast as you can as far as you can, if you manage to reach a certain distance, I will let you go." Vegeta explained. "Well I might consider it.."

Gohan gave a surprised look. "Really?"

Raditz's eyes widened. "Wait, are you sure that's a good idea, Veg-"

Vegeta lifted his hand up, motioning for Raditz to stop. "You need to manage to either find the nearest shop or run two full miles, if you can, you win the game." He smirked. "I think it's a pretty fair deal, of course you'll be stranded, no family, no home, light years away from Earth. However, if you fail, you join us."

Gohan bit his lips. He wanted to protest against this, but it was the only opportunity he was getting, although he wondered why they couldn't just let him go.

"You ready?" Vegeta asked. Gohan swallowed hard then nodded in response. "Ok, get set." Gohan looked around at the bunker, his head whipping frantically till he found the exit. Vegeta formed a tiny orb of energy above his index finger. "GO!" The tiny orb exploded, making a loud sound.

Immediately, Gohan took off, he ran as fast as he could, his only thoughts returning to home. "Please let me make it." He said in thought. He ran outside the bunker, entering a land of nothing but brown, rocky soil for miles and miles. Gohan ran as fast as he could but after about a hundred feet, he fell forward and stumbled.

When he pushed himself up, he saw a tall and slim figure, a figure that was Vegeta. "Nononono Please!" Tears formed in the corner of his eyes. "That's not fair!" He yelled. "It's only been a few minutes!" Behind Vegeta was Nappa who floated down shortly after.

"I told you he wouldn't make it." Raditz spoke up as he floated down next to the two others.

"C'mon Raditz, have a little fun!" Nappa laughed.

Raditz growled angrily. "No, I don't like partaking in your bets, you make them impossible to win."

Gohan crawled back and tried to move in a different direction. "L-Let me go!" He shouted. Nappa came up behind him, stopping him from moving forward.

"You stumbled, sorry, that is an automatic disqualification." Vegeta shrugged.

Gohan's jaw went slack. "That's not fair! You never said that!"

Vegeta chuckled. "I never mentioned any rules, that was part of the game!" He replied.

"N-No! That's not fair! I won't join you guys!" Gohan snarled. "You're bad guys!"

Nappa gasped. "What?! Bad Guys?!" He faked a frown and looked at Vegeta as he tried to hold his laughter back. "The kid thinks we're bad guys, Vegeta! Can you believe that!" Nappa gave a heavy laugh. "That's a little hurtful, don't ya think?"

Vegeta nodded, a wide grin formed on his face. "I agree, I think we should pay him back, don't you?" He asked.

Gohan's eyes widened with fright, he could only imagine what they meant by that and he refused to find out. He got up and turned around trying to run with Nappa and Vegeta running after him, slowly. However, Gohan was quick to corner himself near a rock formation, instinctively he tried to climb it only to slide back down.

He turned around to see the two creeping up on him. What Gohan hadn't expected was to be suddenly in air. "H-Huh?!" Gohan looked confused as he struggled to move, instead he floated in place no matter how he rotated himself. "W-What's going on?!"

"Would you look at that! He's lighter than a cloud!" Vegeta laughed.

Nappa made a wicked chuckle. "Let me try, Vegeta!"

Vegeta shrugged and released his grasp from Gohan, causing him to fall harshly onto the ground. He took a step back, giving Nappa room to do it himself. Nappa moved his hand up as he grasped Gohan with his energy, using his fingers to rotate him.

"Aaah!" Gohan screamed. He was moved quickly up then down, then left, then right. "P-Put me down!" He tried to rotate himself back but every time, Nappa would move him back into an uncomfortable position. Gohan began to get nauseated and dizzy.

"Ahaha! This is hilarious!" Nappa said.

Raditz rolled his eyes. "You guys are gonna make the brat sick."

"Not our fault he has a weak stomach." Vegeta shrugged.

Nappa smirked as he threw Gohan high in the air. "I got a great idea!" He shouted. Nappa threw his hand forward, causing Gohan to fly afar at rapid speeds and simultaneously, Nappa also released his grip on Gohan. This made Gohan plummet towards the ground.

"Oo! Maybe he'll show us some of that potential!" Vegeta pointed out.

Gohan screamed for his life, his heart raced as it panicked and he feared the worst. He moved so fast that by blinking, he was already up close to a nearby mountain, he closed his eyes and looked away as he expected to die but instead something snapped, causing his entire gesture to change.

His demeanor showed pure rage and a white aura wrapped itself around him, protecting him as he flew through the mountain. The mountain was obliterated into pieces and the path ahead of it was turned into a long massive crater.

Vegeta and Nappa's eyes were wide with shock. "D-Did..you see his power level, V-Vegeta.." Nappa stuttered. The scouter displayed an exact number of one thousand, three hundred, and seven.

Vegeta nodded. "SO the boy does have some power after all." He said. His impressed demeanor quickly turned into one of anger as he clenched his fist and the ground beneath him trembled. "That low class trash, Kakarot produced a child with this kind of power?! HOW?!"

"See what I mean? This kid is ridiculous!" Raditz added. "But it's absolutely useless because all he does is cry and whine!"

Vegeta's gaze moved to Raditz but then back to Gohan, he checked Gohan's power level and it set back to ten. "I suppose we'll just have to tame him then and use it for our own benefit." He thought. Vegeta walked up to Gohan as he pushed himself up. "It seems we have ourself a little protege."

Gohan looked confused then turned to where the mountain once was. "Y-You mean…I did that?" He blinked several times as he tried to process it, his mouth hanging open.

Vegeta nodded. "Yes and I think we'll teach you how to unleash that on command!"

Gohan froze for a second longer than shook his head as he snapped himself back into reality. "N-No! I won't!" He backed away a bit from Vegeta.

Vegeta gave an exasperated sigh, his face expressed impassiveness then a stern look formed as he got to Gohan's level. "Okay, then I'll go to your home and kill your Mother and Brother. How does that sound?" He asked. Gohan bit his lips and remained silent as he tried to think of something to say. "You wouldn't want dear old Mom to die because you wouldn't listen, would you?"

Gohan swallowed hard and seethed through his teeth. "Liar!" He yelled. "You wouldn't!"

Vegeta looked surprised. "Liar? I'm a liar now? What would I ever benefit from that?" He said. Gohan kept an angry expression but then he looked contemplative before frowning in defeat. "That's what I thought, now come back with us, I have plans to discuss with your Uncle."

Gohan kept his silence as he followed the three older Saiyans back to the bunker. The three sat down and Gohan was instructed to wait and sit by the wall.

"Here's the thing, Nappa and I cannot come to Earth until we finish some missions." Vegeta explained. "It could take us about eleven months and we still have to introduce the brat to Lord Frieza."

"If we do that now, he won't survive his encounter with Frieza." Raditz pointed out.

Vegeta nodded. "I know. I think we'll have to wait, he needs more experience and training before being put in the Frieza Force anyways."

"How will we avoid Frieza finding out then? The kid's clearly a Saiyan." Nappa added.

Vegeta's gaze moved to Gohan. "I have an idea." He answered. "Runt come here." He gestured his hand at Gohan but the boy was hesitant to obey, so Vegeta used his energy and pulled back his index and middle finger, this forced Gohan quickly closer.

Gohan glared at Vegeta but Vegeta ignored it and turned Gohan around as he grabbed the boy's tail. He pulled and snapped the tail off of him and caused Gohan to fall unconscious. The other two Saiyans were shocked.

"Why did you do that, Vegeta?!" Raditz gasped.

"Frieza won't be able to recognize him as easily this way." Vegeta explained as he turned to the two. "Eventually, someone somewhere will figure out he's a Saiyan, but as long as he doesn't have his tail, it'll buy us some time."

Raditz sighed and shrugged. "I guess you're right, better he doesn't have his tail, it'll force him to feel out his surroundings more." He said. "But what do we do about his training situation?"

Vegeta smirked. "I did think about doing it myself but after seeing what we saw recently, I think it's time we take him to the Colosseum."

Raditz raised a brow. "The Colosseum? Are you sure? Even I can struggle with some of its best fighters, what if he doesn't survive?"

"Oh. He'll have to." Vegeta chuckled wickedly. "If he doesn't, then we know he wasn't worth our time."
