Duo Halfbreeds

Chapter Three: Lost Animal

Raditz left to his pod, taking Gohan with him, when he assured Gohan was locked in, he entered his pod. As the hatch closed, an interface appeared, and a warning sign on that interface displayed.

"Crap.." Raditz sighed. When he pressed the warning sign with his finger, the interface changed and showed the fuel levels. "I'll have to refuel at the nearest station." His eyes traced towards Gohan's pod. "How am I gonna make sure the runt doesn't take off? Maybe the stasis will stay long enough on him."

Raditz slid out of the menu and opened to a different menu where in the center top of it said.

"Universal Positioning System." Raditz selected a little button that had a fuel logo button on it and it lit up right after. The menu then closed itself out and text appeared on the screen saying "Starting Up..", the ship made a loud clicking sound as it locked itself in and synced with Gohan's ship.

The two ships rumbled and roared as they took off simultaneously with Gohan's ship moving shortly behind. Raditz's ship quickly filled with a mist, right before he checked the time to destination. The screen displayed a couple day's time and Raditz looked relieved before he fell unconscious.

A couple days passed and the two ships landed on a small asteroid-sized planet, arriving on a docking station connected to a much larger building. As the hatch opened, Raditz awoke and saw what was mostly like an attendant for the area. The docking station was on a large cliff, below it was a small town.

The attendant was quick to note Raditz's tail and his bone structure as well as facial features. "Ah! You must be part of the Frieza Force, one of the Saiyans. Do you need a refill for your ships?" He asked.

Raditz nodded. "Yes, but I'd rather do it myself, thanks." He answered. Raditz's eyes glanced at Gohan's ship, the hatch was open but Gohan was still unconscious.

"Okay, the refilling station is not far from here." The attendant replied, giving Raditz a map. He bowed as he left the area.

Raditz took a look at the map then rolled it up and walked back to Gohan's ship. When he got there, Gohan was missing from the ship.

Raditz's eyes went wide and his jaw slacked. "W-What!? He was asleep! I'm sure of it! How the hell did he disappear from here?" He moved from Gohan's ship and darted his eyes around the area as he looked for Gohan. He couldn't see him anywhere near the landing deck and flew rapidly around the docking station, finding him nowhere. "He can barely run?! How did he slip by me?!" Angrily, Raditz clenched his fists and released a shout of anger.

Gohan looked up from behind the pod, seeing Raditz in the far distance. He thought he was safe and decided to run…but where? He wondered what could be over the edge of the docking station, and crawled over.

It was far, a very far drop, it made Gohan dizzy just looking at it. He could hear Raditz screaming and still nearby, so he had to act fast. Gohan looked again and there was a large body of water below. Gohan thought if he tried, he might be able to aim for it, but it was so high up, it scared him.

Hearing Raditz again however motivated him to try. Gohan slipped down and grabbed the ledge. Winds blew hard as Gohan hanged from the ledge. His eyes moved below home, causing him to shudder. "It's so far down…" He thought.

He swallowed hard to himself, knowing he had few areas and choices to escape. He could see the body of water again, but he began to regret his position but then shook it off after hearing Raditz. He didn't want to be anyone near him and was ready to take his chances.

Reluctantly, he let go of the ledge, aiming for the water, but the second after, his eyes went wide in the realization. He panicked, his mind raced, sweat dripped from his face as all color drained before he screamed so loud a sound could not be made.

Gohan quickly fell unconscious till he approached the water, waking up just a second after. Oddly, the water did not make a big splash and Gohan didn't seem to be very buoyant in it. His body kept going deeper and deeper into the water till everything became black…

Raditz panicked and his mind raced with thoughts. "That guy?! He must've seen something! Done something!" He searched the area and looked around, unable to find him. Raditz slapped himself to reality. "No, what am I thinking! There's no way he would've done anything. Relax Raditz!"

He shook his head and took a breath. "Right, I put a tracking chip on him." He pressed the large white button on his scouter and the scouter itself searched within 50 miles. After a short few seconds, the device locked in on Gohan. "The Landing Deck?! But how?!"

Raditz whipped around, facing the deck then ran rapidly to it. His scouter led him close to Gohan's ship. "I don't get it? Where is he?" Raditz wondered with a confused look formed on his face. He pressed the white button on his scouter again and the display zoomed in.

Raditz pressed it a few more times and it zoomed in further. Raditz took several paces past Gohan's ship til he reached the edge of the docking station and the look on his face was confused as ever. "This thing must be busted!" Raditz snarled. He grabbed the scouter from his face and raised his hand as he began to throw it but stopped when he heard a faint beep.

He stopped, lowered his hands and waited to hear it again. There it was, a faint beep and it sounded so close. Raditz looked at the ground around him and saw nothing. There was that noise again! He could hear it so close and yet couldn't see it.

He got closer to the ground and looked around the area, he moved to the left but it got fainter as he did. He moved to the right and it got louder and louder. The closer to the edge he got, he could hear it more profoundly.

A theory formed in his head as he floated off the platform and below the ledge. His eyes went wide. "That's the tracking device I put on him…He took it off?!" Raditz's jaw went slack then turned into an irritated smirk. "That little brat is smarter than I give him credit for." He grabbed the tracking device and crushed it with his hand. He sighed heavily to himself. "I could find him by his bio-signature but I'd have to be within twenty-five feet of him and I wouldn't even know where to look."

He moved his gaze and his head around as he search for a starting point, his eyes specifically moving to the body of water. "No he wouldn't have, he's too chicken…" He looked back at the tracking device and then below. "Then again…Not much options.. I'll check the rest of the docking station first.."

Dark… Cold… Wet…

Gohan's body continued to sink further and further into the water and as he got deeper, he got slower but then something stopped him and suddenly he could feel a powerful pressure of force… or he would've had he not already taken into much water.

Within mere seconds, he was taken out of the body of water and onto dry land by an unfamiliar face. A particularly tall purple fish-skinned performed several chest compressions on Gohan to no avail.

"What's going on, Piscus?" Another nearby asked. This other resembled quite similarly to a rodent or well more specifically a rat and gerbil-like humanoid. He raised his eyebrows as he got closer, seeing a child in front of Piscus.

"Kid fell in the water and nearly drowned." Piscus answered, his face sweated. "I think he's taken in too much water, I can't get him back up."

The other man near Piscus moved closer to Gohan. "Watch out, I got this." He said as Piscus moved to the side. He placed his hands near Gohan and energy radiated around the rodent-man's hands. A short second after, his energy turned blue and watery, and water flowed out of Gohan's mouth.

For about five seconds it continued, then for a split second, Gohan became conscious, coughing heavily before blacking out again. "There, I think that should do it." The rodent-man said as he stood back up.

"Thanks, Rotte." Piscus said. "I wonder where he came from." His eyes moved over to Gohan's armor as he noticed it looked familiar.

Rotte shrugged. "Eh, who knows." He answered, turning around. "Not our problem. Just some lost cub."

Piscus rubbed his chin. "True..but look.." He replied, pointing at Gohan's armor. Rotte turned back around, raising a brow, giving a confused look. "His armor, the brand and design, it's familiar isn't it?"

Rotte leaned in to give a closer look, then nodded. "Yeah…isn't that the same brand the Frieza Force soldiers used?"

A wicked look formed on Piscus's face as he turned to Rotte. "I got an idea. Let's take him with us."

Rotte looked confused. "Take him with us? Man, do you know what it's like to fe-.."

"I mean take him with us to USE him." Piscus interrupted. "Someone oughta be looking for him. I mean there's gotta be a reason a cub is in the Frieza Force. He must have SOME value, right?"

Rotte glanced at Gohan then moved his gaze back. "I suppose so but what if the kid suspects something and tries to escape?"

Piscus waved his hand. "Feh, not a problem. He won't suspect anything, we'll take him in and act nice, hope somebody comes looking for him and use him as ransom." He explained. "AND! If nobody comes looking for him, I'm sure he's got some use to us, after all, he IS in the Frieza Force." Rotte nodded in agreement.

For a short moment, Gohan had opened his eyes, disoriented as he looked around before his eyes forcefully shut back on him. What was a split second to him but a half hour later, his eyes opened again, and again they fell back.

After a couple of hours, Gohan finally managed to wake completely. He felt weak and his breath was a bit heavy. Gohan looked at his surroundings, he seemed to be on some kind of couch…it was comfy and he almost didn't want to get up from it. There was a blanket across him as well, soft and warm, his pillow was fluffy and just the right amount of firmness.

He could stay there but his curiosity peaked. Gohan sat up and looked around, seeing an unfamiliar room. He was in a living room of some kind and there was a warm fireplace not far from where he sat. As he turned to look at the rest of his surroundings, he saw a strange man, Gohan froze and shivered.

"Oh..You're awake." The man said. This was the same purple fish-skinned man from earlier who was referred to as Piscus. "You took quite a lot of water."

Gohan swallowed hard and calmed a little, the guy seemed friendly. "W-Where am I, S-Sir?" He asked. "And w-who are you?"

"You're at my place, after I saw you fall into the water, I dove in after you." Piscus answered, moving to the other side of the couch. "Dunno why you went in there, everyone knows that lake's dangerous."

Gohan looked confused. "D-Dangerous?"

"Yeah, the water in there has zero salt content and is super dense." Piscus explained. "Anyone who goes in there won't float up or nothing, they'll continue to sink. It's even super hard alone to swim in, but it's a good thing I saw you when I did, you got pretty deep there and took in a lot of water."

Gohan's eyes went wide. "It's not buoyant?!" He gasped. Piscus nodded in response. He swallowed hard upon the realization he could've…no almost died. "Thank you for saving me, Sir." Gohan gave a respectful bow a second after.

"Don't mention it." Piscus replied. "But you mind telling me where your parents are?"

Gohan bit his lips and his gaze moved down, remaining silent for a moment. He didn't have an answer, all he could remember was the last time he tried telling someone else about Raditz and ended up with the person he begged for help, tricking him into coming back to Raditz.

His eyes moved up for a second then back down. This guy didn't seem like the other guys to him, so maybe it'd be different. "I don't know, a really mean jerk took me from my parents and I haven't seen them in a long time."

Piscus raised a brow. "A jerk, huh?" He humored Gohan. "Exactly, who is he?"

"He has really long hair and looks really scary. He also has clothing like this." Gohan pointed to the armor on himself. "He keeps saying he's my Uncle…but…If I had an Uncle, he wouldn't be so mean!" Gohan's facial expression changed, looking somewhat angry. "He took me away and..and keeps hurting me!"

"Well, you don't have to worry about him anymore." Piscus ruffled Gohan's hair. "You can hang out with us, maybe we can find where your home planet is and take you back."

Gohan's face looked shocked as he turned to face Piscus. "R-Return Home?" He asked. Piscus nodded in response. Gohan's face lit up before getting super excited.

"Woah there, slow down. I said, MAYBE! It could take awhile and I don't know if your planet is still…around." Piscus replied. "Before we can even think about that, we need to be able to find that guy who took you, get some information out of him. Any other descriptions you can provide?"

Gohan nodded. "He was tall, maybe a bit taller than you and he was pretty muscular and mean looking." He answered.

"Anything Else?"

Gohan looked down, taking a second to think before looking back up. "He had a tail…"

Piscus's eyes went wide. "A tail? He can't be a…No that would be impossible. If this guy is really the kid's Uncle, then that kid is a Saiyan also?!" He thought. "I should talk to Rotte before anything else.." He nodded to himself, turning back to face Gohan. "Sit tight, kid, I gotta talk to a friend real quick. I'll come back with some food."

Gohan nodded. "Okay!" He smiled. The thought of food sounded great to him and he could rest a little more on the couch while he waited. Piscus met up with Rotte at different building, supposedly Rotte's place of residence.

"A Saiyan?!" Rotte whispered loudly. "Dude! That's bad news, those Saiyans are powerful, we'd be better returning the kid!"

Piscus shook his head. "Hold on, let's think for a moment! If he's that valuable, at the same time, we could also have a better ransom!"

Rotte waved his two hands and made a cross. "No way! Lord Frieza could be involved! And if not, that Saiyan Prince is no joke!"

"Yea but I think the kid might be a halfbreed." Piscus pointed out.

Rotte gave a confused look. "So?"

"Sooo! If he's a halfbreed then he's definitely not the Prince's!" Piscus continued. "This kid described his Uncle to me and I saw the Prince once, the Prince is definitely not taller than me nor has long hair."

Rotte raised a brow. "I'm not sure what you're getting at…"

Piscus smirked. "I mean, if the kid isn't the Prince's and he's a halfbreed. It's possible the one in charge of him isn't as strong as the Prince." He explained. "And I heard lots of rumors about one of the Saiyans being utterly weak in comparison to the other two."

Rotte took a slight turn. "Hell no. I'm not doing it. It's still too risky, we could get killed!"

Piscus raised a finger. "Or! We can play things out. We need to somehow encounter this other guy first and check him out before making a decision as to using him for ransom or to just return him." He suggested. "That way we can avoid any disasters."

Rotte had a skeptical look on his face. "Fine but If I see the first sign of trouble, I'm not staying around to get killed." He replied. "I have a wife, man! So don't expect me to go running into a suicide warrant."

Piscus placed his hand on Rotte's back and patted out. "Reeelax! Nothing will go wrong." He smiled wickedly. Rotte rolled his eyes in response.

"DAMN IT! DAMN IT! DAAAAMNNN IT! I'VE SEARCHED EVERY INCH OF THIS PLACE! AND EVERY INCH OUTSIDE OF IT!" Raditz growled angrily. He stood by the outside of the docking station by the hillside. "He's got to be somewhere! This planet is puny! I'll check the town!"

Raditz flew back to where he docked his ship, doing a quick double check before floating to the ground. His eyes noted and fixed on the large body of water in front of him.

"If he's not up on the hill, he must've jumped into the body of water…" Raditz shook his head. "No, he couldn't have. That kid whines over the stupidest crap!" He sighed heavily to himself, looking back at the body of water. "Then again…he could have and if he did.." Raditz pressed the smaller white button on his scouter.

The scouter scanned the body of water and details of it listed on Raditz's display. "As I thought, this body of water is dense." Raditz placed his finger tip in the water and swished it around. "No salt content either. If the kid is in here…he didn't survive. Still I have to check."

Raditz took a deep breath and enveloped his energy around him as he jumped in the lake, and began searching in the lake. He pressed the white button on his scouter to change its mode and it searched for any nearby bio-signatures.

"If he's still down here…he's dead and he's most likely close to the bottom." Raditz looked down, it was deep, really deep. "The pressure could get dangerous but if I continue regulate I might be able to go down, dunno about oxygen though." He took a deep breath within the oxygen field created from his energy aura.

Raditz swam deeper into the water and things quickly became darker and darker. Raditz pressed a smaller button on his scouter and he could now see what seemed to be a little mini-map of the lake and where he was currently at.

"There now I shouldn't end up going in circles…for the most part anyway." Raditz thought.

"Sorry about that kid." Piscus said as he walked into the room. Gohan sat up immediately and turned to face him. "Whaddya say we go ahead and get something to eat now?"

Gohan's face lit up as he nodded. "Yes, Please!" He got up from the couch and followed Piscus out the door. On the outside, there was a small concrete path about a few feet long and wide then some stairs connected to it.

Gohan followed Piscus down the short few feet of stairs and onto a sidewalk. They turned to the right and continued on the path for a couple hundred feet till they reached a large open area where there were tons of Food Stands and Kiosks.

Gohan could smell the foods, their scent lingering all over the place, and it made Gohan slightly drool. His eyes glanced over the several different kiosks, some looked odd and some looked familiar, but he was so hungry he could care less at this point.

"Where do you want to eat?" Piscus asked, turning to Gohan.

Gohan blinked a couple times, freezing up a bit. "Uh.." He shook his head, snapping back into reality. "Wait, I can pick?" Piscus nodded in response. Gohan looked back at all of the food stands and seemed unsure. "I don't know…"

Piscus tousled Gohan's hair. "Ah! Don't worry about it, I know exactly what you'll want!" He said.

A short moment later..

Gohan was now sitting on a nearby table with a plate full of food and some eating utensils in his hands. "Thank you, Sir." He said to PIscus before turning to eat his food. It was strange looking, almost hard to make out exactly what it was if one were looking from the distance.

On Gohan's plate, there was something that resembled dumplings, a couple of strange lean, small, and long green vegetables next to it, and something stranger next to it all. It was orange and almost carrot-like in texture, shaped like it too but in small tiny strips.

This resembled rice quite a bit, and this orange food also had sear marks. Taking a bite of the dumplings, Gohan was filled with joy, as the dumpling's flavors were very similar to that of a slightly sweet kick with a kick, pork and some vegetables.

"See, told ya it'd taste good." Piscus said. Gohan nodded in response, continuing to eat.

Raditz panted heavily as he stood outside of the water, soaking wet. "Over a few hours of searching and nothing!" He clenched his fists angrily. "Damn it! What a waste of time this has all been!" He slammed his fist into the large boulder next to him, causing it to shatter into pieces. "Forget this, that brat isn't worth the trouble anymore…"

He sighed heavily to himself and started to walk off. After about twenty paces, a scent lingered to him, a scent that caused his stomach to rumble and one that attracted him. Raditz followed the scent which quickly became a mixture of scents.

"I suppose I could get myself something to eat before I leave." Raditz thought. He followed the scent for a couple hundred feet more until he reached an area with food carts lined up in a circle. A smirk formed across Raditz's face. "Perfect! Plenty of options, exactly what I needed."

Raditz went up to a particular food cart which had what seemed to be various fried foods, only these foods had some seriously odd shapes. One in particular looked almost like fried Octopus legs, which Raditz walked over to.

"These look like polytaks from the Mare system, would they be perhaps similar?" Raditz asked.

The man behind the cart nodded. "Pretty much, it's Topads from Planet Cefalo." He answered. "Little difference between the two."

Raditz rubbed his chin taking a second to think then pulled out his badge. "I'll take five pieces then." He said. The man behind the cart grabbed a rectangular device from behind him and pressed a button as he pointed it at Raditz's badge.

A few seconds later and the device beeped. "Uh..Sir." The Man said. "The funds in your account seem to be a little low…per say."

Raditz's eyes went wide. "What?! Low!? That's not possible!"

The man gulped. "Well…empty more specifically." He showed the display on the screen to Raditz which showed the transaction declined and the reasoning behind it.

Raditz's jaw slacked. "Did I really spend that much on the brat?!" He had a stunned look on his face. "Curses! I lost him and spent that much on him?!" He clenched his fist angrily, causing his energy to rise and the man's cart to shake.

The man frantically tried to hold his cart steady and keep it from falling over. A couple seconds after, Raditz walked off and calmed his energy, this allowed the man's cart to settle and for the man to sigh with relief.

"Great. What am I gonna tell, Vegeta? Hey! Vegeta I lost the kid and spent all of my money on him!" Raditz thought. "But don't worry because I have absolutely nothing to show for all of this!" He slapped his forehead and gave an angry growl then sighed after.

Taking a quick look at his surroundings, Raditz had wondered how Gohan would have survived that fall into the water. "It just doesn't make sense…" He thought. He turned over to the right and as he did the answer laid itself upon him. Raditz blinked a couple of times and rubbed his eyes to assure he wasn't seeing anything. "No..that can't be…but it is! It's the brat!"

A wicked grin formed on Raditz's face as he ran to the table. "Aha! Found you, brat!"

Gohan froze and swallowed hard. "H-H-..G-Go away!" He shouted. He hopped off of the table and ran for it but he only made it a few feet away from the table for Raditz to appear in front of him. Quickly, Gohan turned back around and hid behind Piscus. "That's the jerk that took me away!"

Piscus took a look at Gohan then to Raditz. "You're the guy who says he's the kid's Uncle?" He asked, subtly pressing a button on the side of his leg.

"Yes I am his Uncle and he's in my custody." Raditz answered. "And you'd be wise to give the brat back to me." His tone became lower as he made a more threatening sounding voice.

Piscus placed his hand in front of Gohan. "I'm afraid I can't let you do that, not without some proof first at least." He said. Piscus formed a stern look on his face as he watched Raditz's posture change.

Raditz took a deep breath in. "Perhaps I didn't make myself clear." He said, taking a stance. "Give me the brat or I'll make sure the rest of your life…is a living hell."

"Bring it." Piscus taunted. Raditz pressed his foot down and darted forward as he hurled a fist. At the same time Piscus jumped back and flew into the air with Raditz following him quickly after. As Raditz approached, Piscus threw a fist which Raditz avoided by moving an inch back then Raditz swung his right leg high.

Piscus was quick to block Raditz's leg with his right arm then Piscus clenched his two fists together to throw a double ax-handle at Raditz but Raditz vanished from the spot. He reappeared behind Piscus and swung his two hands together at Piscus as Piscus turned around, narrowly blocking.

The attack sent Piscus spiraling towards the ground but as he neared the ground, Piscus caught control of himself and flipped up. He slammed onto the ground, his feet sliding back against the dirt. A second later, Rotte arrived on the scene.

"You wanna catch me up?" Rotte asked.

"Found who's in charge of a brat." Piscus answered with a smirk. "Good news is I think we can beat him together."

Rotte raised a brow. "Bad news?"

Piscus looked at Rotte then back to Raditz who was coming after him. "It won't be easy." Both fighters moved out of the way as Raditz came swooping in to throw a fist. Piscus moved forward and hurled a fist, aimed at Raditz's face.

Raditz straightened his posture and jumped back, avoiding Piscus's fist. Raditz was pulled around by Rotte from behind as Rotte slammed a fist into Raditz's face. Rotte thrusted his knee at Raditz's gut next but Raditz slammed his fist into Rotte's right cheek before he could, sending Rotte into the building behind him.

Piscus advanced forward and fired a blast at Raditz as he approached. Raditz deflected the blast and turned around as Piscus flipped behind him. Piscus swung his leg mid-air at Raditz's face but Raditz ducked, and grabbed Piscus's leg.

Before Raditz could do anything however, Rotte recovered and kicked Raditz in the back, causing Raditz to go flying.

"Quick! Don't give him a chance to rebalance!" Rotte shouted. Piscus nodded in response and flew after Raditz, flying ahead of him and kicking him by his head, sending him high in the air. As the two approached Raditz simultaneously, Raditz caused a burst of energy to rebalance himself, blocking Piscus's fist and ducking Rotte's leg swing.

Raditz slammed his foot into Piscus's gut, causing him to double over. Raditz threw his elbow, aimed at Piscus's back but Rotte kicked Raditz's side, pushing Raditz several feet away.

Rotte looked at Piscus. "You good?"He asked. Piscus took a deep breath in and nodded in response. Rotte moved his gaze to Raditz who came rushing after them. "Good! Cause we got some company."

Raditz slammed his elbow against Rotte at the same time as Rotte placed his two arms in front of him, sending Rotte a hundred feet towards the ground. Raditz turned swiftly after and hurled another fist, aimed at Piscus but Piscus avoided the attack, moving to the side. Piscus grabbed Raditz and put him in a full nelson lock as he flew higher in the air.

Raditz formed an angry smirk and growled as he struggled to break free. "Hell no! Not this again!" He growled. As both fighters began to plummet, Piscus forcing them down, Raditz gathered an intense amount of energy, causing a burst to release against PIscus and shove him back a few feet, stopping them mid-air.

Piscus moved forward, trying to grapple Raditz, but Raditz whipped around and slammed his fist into Piscus's right cheek before he could. Raditz thrusted his knee into Piscus's gut after, causing Piscus to double over before he was sent plummeting to the ground by Raditz's double ax-handle.

Rotte aimed to strike Raditz from the side but Raditz grabbed his leg and swung him in a circle. After a few seconds Raditz threw Rotte to the ground. Rotte went spiraling rapidly but was stopped by Piscus before hitting the ground.

"Distract him!" Piscus said.

Rotte nodded and began a rapid firing of energy blasts at Raditz as Piscus vanished from thin air. Raditz rushed forward to Rotte, dodging as the blasts came after him. Raditz quickly approached and threw his fist at Rotte. Rotte narrowly avoided and thrusted his knee into Raditz's gut.

Raditz began to double over but he stopped himself, and persisted through the pain as he launched a fist against Rotte's chin. Before Raditz could continue, Piscus came from the behind and gathered energy in his fist, slamming it against Raditz's back, causing him to crash into the ground below him.

Piscus and Rotte dropped to the ground shortly after and as Raditz stood up, the two fired a powerful energy wave aimed at Raditz. Raditz whipped his head up and saw the blast coming swiftly towards him, he lifted his two arms in front of him, attempting to block the blast.

As it struck, Raditz's scouter beeped loudly, reading a combined power level of nearly two thousand and six hundred. Raditz's eyes went wide, he took a quick thought about dodging but by then it was already too late. He committed to blocking the attack and as it continued to burn the surface of his skin for the next several seconds, he was knocked off balance.

"NOW!" Piscus shouted. "Full Power!" The two fighters unleashed all of their energy to Raditz, causing the ground around them to shake. The blast erupted bigger and wrecked Raditz's armor, causing it to tatter, crack, and partially break in multiple areas.

A short moment later, the two stopped, and panted heavily as they waited for the smoke to settle. To their shock, Raditz was still standing but barely. His skin was covered in various cuts and bruising, as well as severe burns.

"That last hit took a lot out on me." Raditz thought. His gaze moved to the two fighters, he could tell they had plenty of energy despite their power levels dropping to around eight hundred each. "Damn. I hate to say it but if I don't leave now, I'll die." He growled angrily and slammed his fists. "Screw this! It's not worth it! Not worth it at all! If you want that brat! Take him!"

He flared his aura and took off immediately. Piscus let out a sigh of relief once he was gone. "Told you we could handle him."

Rotte raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, but don't you think it's odd?"

Piscus cocked his head. "What do you mean?"

Rotte looked back to the sky where Raditz left. "I mean…that he gave up so easily." He answered. "Think about it. What might possibly be one of the few remaining Saiyans leaving a Saiyan child out in the middle of nowhere? It doesn't make sense!"

Piscus looked to the ground and sighed exasperatedly. "It is strange…" He replied. "He must be alone, otherwise we'd see backup by now." He turned to look at Rotte. "Ya think the Kid's not a Saiyan?"

Rotte shook his head. "No, he definitely is. The resemblance between him and that guy was pretty uncanny." He shrugged. "It just doesn't add up…Oh well. I say we take advantage of the boy before it's too late."

Piscus raised a brow. "Take advantage? How?"

Rotte clapped his hands together and formed a wicked smirk. "Remember how we couldn't get past the lodging chamber in the Royals' castle?"

Piscus's interest peaked. "Yeah? Go on?"

Rotte smirked. "Well there's another way to get to the King's quarters from the underground dungeons. In a nutshell, there's a very old unused vent in the third corridor, and the boy happens to be small enough to fit!"

Piscus formed a wide grin. "Then we should be able to finally get the King's head! And claim kingship for ourselves!"

"W-What!? Y-You were going to u-use me!?" Gohan stuttered. He had been standing nearby, coming to thank them for stopping Raditz but now he felt conflicted. Tears began to form in the corner of his eyes. "I thought y-you were good guys! But you tricked me!" Gohan ran as quickly as he could, running into a narrow alleyway.

"What? No, you misunderstand!" Piscus tried to salvage it quickly, as he got down to Gohan's level. "The king is a tyrant! We're uh.. Trying to save the people of this town and small planet! That's right!" Gohan seemed hesitant and stared in disbelief.

Rotte nodded in agreement. "Yeah! So we need your help to stop him! The King has a jewel and this jewel is what keeps him powered up." He explained. "If we can take that jewel and stop him, we can kill him before he does anything else."

Gohan was still hesitant and refused to believe them. "N-No! You're lying! I can tell you're lying!" He growled. "If you were good, you wouldn't have to kill him! You'd put him in jail or somethi- hey! HEY! WHAT'RE YOU DOING!" Before he could finish, Piscus grabbed him by his left foot.

"Now listen here ya little brat! You're gonna do as we say, and if not, we'll kill you!" Piscus snarled. "Slowly!"

"N-No! Please! Let me go!" Gohan begged. He tried to struggle free, nearly pulling himself off of Piscus, but Piscus grabbed Gohan by his two arms. "Please let me go!"

"We won't let you go and just for that, we'll MAKE you do the honors of killing the King!" Rotte yelled.

Gohan's face froze. "W-What?" He dropped his jaw. "Kill the king?! No! I can't! I-.." He shook his head. "I won't! LET ME GO!" His anger rose and a burst of energy erupted forth from him, causing him to kick Piscus in the gut, making Piscus's grip release from him.

Then Gohan turned and flew through several buildings, causing the ground beneath him to turn into a long and wide crater. As Gohan pushed himself up, he quickly noticed Rotte coming after him, and Piscus recovering from his blow.

Gohan darted his head around, looking for a way out, and noticed a narrow alleyway behind him. Gohan ran and ran through it.

"Damn it! After him!" Piscus shouted. The two had made close to the alleyway, but realized they couldn't fit. "I'll go that way, you go left!"

Rotte nodded and the two went in opposing directions. As Gohan started to make his way through the narrow alleyway, he peaked over and noticed Rotte off to the right, looking around. Gohan ran back to the opposite end of the alleyway, fifteen seconds later, but to the left of the other end was Piscus.

Gohan ran towards the center of the alleyway and panicked. He didn't know what to do and felt completely lost and scared. He sat down and started to cry before he heard a voice.

"Psst. Kid!" The voice said. Gohan froze up again. "Follow me!" When Gohan turned his head, he noticed a hard to make out figure that didn't seem very tall. It was motioning for Gohan to follow him, without any option, Gohan followed him.

He followed the figure several paces forward then to a window that was on the ground. The figure opened the window and jumped through. Gohan was hesitant at first but after hearing Piscus shout for him, he became less so and jumped through it.

When Gohan got through the window, it looked like he was in some kind of basement and it was dark. The lights soon turned on and revealed the room to be mostly solid concrete and empty.

There were some boxes in a corner and in another corner was a short rat-like humanoid man. His eyes were covered by a brown fedora, he wore a long tan jacket and a white t-shirt. He also wore brown cargo shorts and had regular tennis shoes on.

"Ya okay, kid? I noticed Piscus and Rotte chasing after ya." The man asked.

Gohan nodded. "Yes, thank you." He stood up and straightened his posture. "But why did you help me?"

The man turned around, shrugging and placing his two arms behind his head. "Piscus and Rotte have always been annoying around here. Whatever pisses them off is beneficial to me." He explained. "Besides, I saw that you needed help." He motioned for Gohan to follow him again.

The two walked over to a table where there were several others. One had several almost spider-like legs, with two hands like crab claws, his skin or rather what seemed to be more of an exoskeleton, was bright red and quite shiny against the light.

Another was somewhat similar but instead had only two legs, with a total of four small arms below one massive claw and a slightly smaller claw. He also had a tailfin connected to his body, and two antennas on his head. He resembled that of a lobster but was paler in color as to the man near him.

A third was tall, wide and large. He didn't seem very muscular but looked very tough, and had a lot of spines around the back of him. The backside of his skin was orange with darker orange dots, the frontside of his skin was pale. He had a spiny fin on each side of his head, and two large fists. This man only donned blue shorts.

A fourth was small, short, and green. He had two large extra eyes on the side of his head along with regular eyes on the front of his head. He seemed to only be at the most a few inches taller than Gohan, and wore some armor not too much different from Gohan's. His armor was lighter in color scheme and had long shoulderpads.

"Hey, Puff! You might wanna wait a sec there before claimin tha pot!" The spider-like one said. He laid out five cards, all aces. "Five of a kind!"

The other three looked shocked and angry as well. "Liar, Krust! You cheated!" The third one said. "Let me see your hands!"

Krust stood up and raised his hands. "Go ahead! Check me, Puff!" His grin stayed smug as Puff and the two others checked him over. "I ain't got nothin to cheat fer!"

"I have psychic powers, Krust! I can read your mind!" The fourth one said. He turned to the lobster-like man. "Let me read him, Cean! I know he's got something up his sleeve!"

Krust shrugged. "Yeah I don't care! Come at me!" He crossed his arms smugly.

Cean shook his head. "No. You all know the rules, no psychic powers allowed down here." He answered. Cean turned his head to face the fourth one. "And you should know better to ask, Guldo."

Guldo scoffed. "Fine wha.." He paused. "What're you doing with that kid, Caesus?"

"Oh when I was out for my smoke break, I saw him running from Piscus and Rotte." Caesus answered as he pulled out two seats. One for him and another for Gohan. He motioned for Gohan to sit on the other sit. "Figured I'd give him a place to hide for now."

Cean turned to Caesus and sighed. "C'mon, Caesus you know the rules. We can't abuse our jammer like that." He said. "If we just bring in every stray you find, we're gonna have issues."

"Yea! And what if the kid tells the king what we're doin down here!" Krust spoke up. "Can't have him rooting our operation here."

Gohan looked scared. "Operation?" He thought. He began to wonder if he was in another criminal scheme already!

"Relax guys! He'll be here for a few hours till Piscus and Rotte give up, then I'll return him elsewhere." Caesus said as he laid back into his seat.

Guldo placed two green chips and a black chip into his pile. "Better idea. I'll put a bigger bet in the pile, if you bet the kid."

Caesus gave a confused look. "Bet the kid? He isn't mine. Besides, what're you gonna do with the kid?"

Guldo looked at Gohan and examined him. A smirk formed on his smile as he noticed the strange resemblance on the kid, as well as the "low and cheap" armor on him. "Oh…I have a few ideas.."

Caesus moved his gaze to the ceiling as he took a second to thought. "Okay..hold on." He got up from his seat and motioned Gohan to follow him.

"Y-You're not a-actually g-gonna bet me a-are you?!" Gohan asked, fearfully.

Caesus chuckled. "Hah! No, Guldo's never won a game in his life!" He whispered. "We're gonna use you to get all his money! And then after you can come hang out with me for a while!" He gave out his hand. "Whaddya say?"

Gohan was hesitant, his eyes fixed on Caesus's hands. He already had a bad feeling being here but it was better than being out there. For now he decided to play it safely and shake Caesus's hand.

"Awesome! Let's go win some fancy stuff!" He smirked. Both of them followed back to the table, and Krust began dealing out cards. He dealt five cards to each of them, which totaled twenty-five cards on the table.

"Ante up!" Krust shouted. Everyone matched Guldo's bet of fifteen thousand credits, then all five players including Guldo placed the Ante down, 3 white chips, which is a total of three hundred credits. Krust took a look at his cards, keeping his face impassive.

His eyes examined the area, looking at the others' faces. All of them had not changed their gesture one bit. "Check.." Krust said. His eyes turned to the one next to him, Puff.

Puff took a quick look at his cards again then turned to Guldo. "Check.."

Guldo looked at his cards then pushed two blue chips from his pile to the jackpot. A smirk formed across his face.

"I fold." Cean placed his cards down and sat back.

"I'll match that bet and raise you five thousand credits." Caesus, keeping a calm expression. He pushed two green chips to the jackpot pile plus the two blue chips to match the bet. Guldo's demeanor seemed to become slightly angry but he kept his composure.

"Draw time." Krust motioned for the others to hand him their unwanted cards. Caesus gave two, Guldo gave one, and Puff gave three. Krust replaced their cards and then discarded two of his own for two new ones. "Wanna continue betting?"

Puff looked at his cards and nodded. "Aye!" He raised a hand. Right after Guldo and Caesus also raised their hands.

Krust matched the previous bet, placing two greens and two blues to the pile. "Check." He said. His eyes moved to Puff who seemed contemplative.

Puff's eyes moved his card to the pile, then to Guldo, and back. He sighed heavily then matched the bet. "No way, Guldo is actually winning. Son of a bitch tends to be a crap player and buffer." He thought. "I raise 500 credits." He put one red chip into the pile.

Guldo matched it and a smirk formed again. "I raise five hundred credits." He said, placing an extra red chip into the pile.

Caesus looked at his hand again and pushed all of his chips into the pile. "All in." There were four aces and a wild card in his hand, which made five of a kind

"What?!" Puff snarled angrily, slamming his hands down. "I call a Bluff!"

"Calm down! Don't get your spines in a twist!" Krust said. "You know the rules, you either match the bet or fold."

Puff scoffed. "Fine." He matched the bet and continued, confident in his own hand. In his hand, he held a royal flush, ace of spades, king, queen, jack, and ten of spades.

Krust matched the bet as well. "I'm calling it."

Krust was the first to place down his cards, he held a full house. The second was Guldo, who had a straight flush.

A wide grin formed on Guldo's face. "Beat that." He said.

Puff smirked and placed down his hand. "Royal Flush."

Guldo's jaw dropped. "What?! Bullcrap!" He leaned over and got a closer look at Puff's hand. "That's! That's impossible! Cheater!"

Puff snarled angrily. "You callin me a liar?!" He growled and got closer to Guldo as both stared down each other angrily.

"Boys, boys, calm down. It don't matter anyway cause I won." Caesus spoke up. He lifted his hat off of his face and placed his hand down. "Five of a kind…"

Guldo and Puff both looked stunned as they unconsciously sat back in their seats. "F-Five of a kind!?" Puff gasped.

Guldo slammed his hands down on the table. "That's not possible! He's pulling our leg! Check him!"

Krust sighed. "Alright, alright. Relax, will you." He looked at Caesus as he stood up. "C'mon, you know the rules. Five of a kind, we gotta be sure its legit."

Caesus nodded, stood up, and lifted his hands in the air as Cean and Krust checked him. "Clear!" Cean said. "He ain't got nothin on him but rngesus's blessing."

"Pot's all yours then Caesus." Krust shrugged, sitting back in his seat.

As Caesus tried to pull it back, Guldo stopped him and placed a particular orange square in front of him. Caesus grabbed it and looked at it then looked back at Guldo and formed a smirk.

"You wanna keep on going? Fine." Caesus pushed the pot back in. "Let's do it!" He looked around at the table. "Anyone else wanna join in and take all of Guldo's money?!"

Cean and Puff shook their heads. "Forget it." Puff answered.

Krust placed his ante in and slid the deck of cards to Guldo. "Deal." He said. Guldo grabbed the deck of cards and began to shuffle them. "And no psychic powers." Guldo rolled his eyes and shuffled the cards, dealing five cards each shortly after. Guldo placed his ante next and then Caesus after.

Caesus put three white chips into the pile. "Three hundred credits…" He said, looking at Krust.

Krust matched the three white chips and put two red chips. "One thousand credits…"

Guldo seemed a bit irritated but matched the pile, his eyes looking below the table and to the circular device on his pants. It had a display showing his bank account, sweat dripped from his face but he continued onward anyways.

In his hand was a three of a kind. "If I can just get the two missing ones, I'll be able to get my pot!" Guldo thought. Next was the draw round, Krust replaced two cards and Caesus replaced four, which made Guldo seem hopeful. "Four replacements? He must not have anything!" Guldo replaced two of his cards and then raised the pot by two red chips.

Caesus matched the two red chips. "Check."

Krust matched the two red chips and raised one green chip. "Twenty five hundred…"

Guldo began to worry, he looked at his deck and it was still three of a kind. He hoped the next draw he could get what he needed and decided to match the bet. Krust replaced two cards again and Caesus replaced one card.

Guldo looked further worried despite trying to keep an impassive face. "One? No It's gotta be a bluff! Yes a bluff!" He thought. Guldo replaced two of his cards again, revealing them one at a time to himself. His face nearly lit up as he saw one of what he needed, making it a four of a kind, but kept his composure.

The next card he revealed to himself was junk. "That's okay! Four of a kind will do! There's no way anyone could get higher than that, right?"

Caesus matched the current bet and pushed his entire pot again. "All in." He said, his face remaining unmoved. Guldo's eyes widened in shock and he stared in disbelief.

"All in? He's bluffing! BLUFFING! Right?!" Guldo's eyes glanced to his device and he realized he'd be emptied out at this rate. He shook his head and regained his composure. "No, I can win! It's a bluff!"

"Forget it, I fold." Krust said. He placed his cards on the table, face-down.

Guldo matched the bet. "Call." He placed his cards down, face-up, showing his four of a kind.

Caesus looked at his cards, formed a smirk slowly as he watched Guldo's face getting more worrisome. "Straight Flush."

Guldo gasped. "What?! Again!?" He couldn't believe he lost, he couldn't accept he lost! "Liar! That's not possible! Two high sets of cards in a row?!"

"Sorry Guldo. Ya lost, better just accept it." Cean shrugged. Guldo clenched his fist and growled angrily, staring Caesus down. "C'mon let it go."

Guldo scoffed and sat down. "Fine." He pressed a button on the device on his leg. "The funds are transferred. Lucky bastard."

Caesus pulled up a similar device and a smile formed on his face. "Thanks G-" Before he could finish, a big crash in the ceiling caused the group to dodge, duck, and roll. Caesus grabbed Gohan as he leaped away.

Chunks and pieces of the ceiling fell to the ground. "Aha! I knew it! A jammer signal!" A voice shouted. When the figure revealed himself as he lowered into the ground, Krust, Cean, and Puff had already booked it.

Guldo was behind this new arrival. "I better get out of here, I don't need the Cap'n finding out I'm gambling again!" He held his breath and was gone.

When Caesus stood up and away from Gohan, fear sunk in Gohan. Gohan recognized who he was, it was Piscus and not far behind him was Rotte.

"P-Please you gotta help me, those guys keep trying to make me kill some king!" Gohan begged.

Caesus raised a brow. "Oh…is that so?" Caesus smirked. "This kid has led me to a gold mine! Like a lucky charm! I should keep him around. If I report these to the Royal Guard! OH BOY!" He cracked his knuckles and walked forward. "If you two wanna take the kid, ya gotta go th…" He stopped, his eyes fixed on the two's armor. "Wait…That armor…That logo! No!"

"Give us the kid or else!" Rotte demanded.

Caesus seemed hesitant, swallowing hard as sweat dripped from his face. His eyes looked to the corner as he saw Gohan and he shook his head. "S-Sorry Kid!" He took off. "But even I ain't dumb enough to tangle with the Fuchion Brothers!"

"What?! No, please help!" Gohan shouted. He cowered into a corner as Piscus and Rotte came up close to him. "Please!"

"Well kid! What's it gonna be? The easy way or the hard way?" Piscus asked.

Gohan shivered heavily. "P-Please!" He cried. "PLEASE!"

Caesus cursed himself for not leaving fast enough. "Damn it…" He thought. He could hear Gohan's pleading and couldn't leave him behind. Caesus gave an exasperated sigh and turned back around, slammed his foot against Piscus, causing Piscus to crash into Rotte and then the wall. "Hurry up, Kid!"

Caesus disappeared immediately from sight and Gohan snapped himself back into reality. Gohan ran back up the stairs and ran outside of the alleyway. He turned behind him and saw both Piscus and Rotte erupt from the ground.

Gohan's eyes widened. "Nononono please!" He ran as fast as he could, passing several houses and eventually bumping into a large giant purple man. "Oof." Gohan fell back, then got up and dusted himself off. He looked up and saw the purple man who had an impassive look on his face. "P-P-Please sir, you gotta help me. These two guys are after me, I don't wanna die!"

The man eyed Gohan curiously, taking notes of his facial features, as well as his armor. As he looked up, he saw the two that were after Gohan.

"Nowhere to run, brat!" Piscus grinned wickedly. He took several steps forward but stopped when Rotte tapped his shoulder. "What?" Piscus turned to face Rotte as Rotte pointed forward. Piscus stopped dead in his tracks. "C-C-c-C-c-Captain Ginyu! I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were here! We'll just be uh leaving your presence! Very sorry for the inconvenience."

Immediately, Rotte and Piscus took off. The three others next to this supposed Captain Ginyu prepared to go after the two but Ginyu put his hand in front of them, stopping them.

"Uh Cap'n, don't ya want us to go after those annoying pests?" One asked. He was about five feet and seven inches, bright red skin and bright white long hair. His armor was similar to the rest but his jumpsuit did not cover his legs.

Ginyu waved at him. "Nah Jeice, miscreants like those aren't worth our time." He looked back at Gohan. "Where are your parents, kid?"

"G-Gone.." Gohan answered.

Ginyu raised a brow. "What're you doing out here all by your lonesome, don't got any guardians?" He asked.

Gohan shook his head. "I-I was running from those two, I barely escaped them earlier and some other guy helped me hide." He answered. His eyes glanced over to the rest of the men behind Ginyu and noticed Guldo. "He took me to a basement or something and played cards, and that guy was there." He pointed at Guldo, who began whistling suspiciously.

The other four looked at Guldo, each giving a different stare. Jeice looked angry, the tall blue one looked disappointed, the orange-haired one look astounded, and Ginyu was furious.

"Guldo! What the hell? Were you gambling again?" Ginyu crossed his arms.

Guldo changed his stance and demeanor. "W-What?" He put his two hands in front of him. "N-No of course not!" A terrible lie, clearly the froggish alien may have psychic powers but lying powers is not one. "He's just some brat! So how would he even know!"

"What? No, I saw you guys playing cards." Gohan pointed out. Ginyu looked at Gohan as he continued. "You were trying to win me after that other guy tried to use me as a bet."

Ginyu looked back at Guldo. "Guldo…I'm very disappointed in you." He looked at his four other men. "You know what that means boys!"

"Yes Sir!" The three said simultaneously. Jeice, the blue one, and the orange-haired one each did a different action as they surrounded him. Jeice placed a pointed hat on him that said "Shame!" on one side and "Broke!" on another side.

The blue one removed his armor and replaced it with a different armor that was pink. It also had "Shame!" Kanji signs on both sides. The orange haired one generated energy chains onto his ankles and wrists.

The three then started running in place and did a few poses. "Guldo! Is! Shameful!" They repeated three times. "Guldo ! Is! An! Addict!"

"I am not!" Guldo growled with a flustered look.

"He's also in denial!" Recoome added.

"Time to throw him in the Hang of Shame!" Jeice threw an energy blast about teen feet in the area, created a long yellow energy rod and took the energy cuffs attached to Guldo, throwing it to the rod. The chains attached and put Guldo in an embarrassed and awkward position.

Ginyu and three finished with poses, each saying their name. "Ginyu!" Ginyu shouted, bending his knees, placing a firm fist leveled with his gut, and his other arm leveled with his forehead.

"Jeeeeice!" Jeice shouted, placing his right foot on his left leg. He also made fists with his hands and spun it around each other continuously.

"Buuurrteeer!" The blue one shouted. He was the tallest of the bunch, over eight feet tall, red irises and pupil-less eyes, his armor had a darker color scheme and black long jumpsuit pants but no top. He stretched his two legs apart and then straightened them close together, lifting his right hand up with a closed fist. His left hand was kept partially open and leveled with his upper chest.

"Recoooooooommeee!" The orange-haired one finished. He was the second tallest, and the most human looking of the bunch. He wore a full jumpsuit along with his battlesuit. He had his right foot forward and knee slightly bent as he was leaning forward, and his two hands pointing diagonally to the right of him.

For a brief moment there was silence. "How long do we stay like this?" Burter asked.

"Just a few more seconds." Ginyu answered. After a few seconds he released his breath and he stopped, returning to normal posture simultaneously with the other three. A second after, Guldo fell down and Gohan clapped.

"That was so super cool!" Gohan shouted.

The five looked shocked. "You thought that was…cool?" Ginyu asked. Gohan nodded in response. "Hmm…perhaps it wouldn't hurt.. To watch this kid for awhile." He thought, his gaze looking upward. Ginyu returned his gaze to Gohan. "Hey kid, why don't you hang with us for awhile?"

"Really?" Gohan asked. Ginyu nodded in response. Gohan got up and started to walk but he stopped. "Wait…you're not gonna trick me like everyone else are you?"

Ginyu shook his head. "Of course not! I want you to review our poses! We got some new ones comin in and could use some critique." He answered. "Just come hang with us.."

Gohan gave a look of hesitance at first but a few seconds later smiled. "Okay!" He stopped again. "Wait..I can't fly."

Sweat dripped on all of the Ginyu's faces. "You can't fly?" Recoome asked. Gohan shook his head in response. Recoome turned to the crate box in the alley way nearby, ripped off the top of the box and placed it down by Gohan. "Hop in!"

Gohan placed one leg at a time over in the crate and then Recoome picked up the crate. Before Gohan knew it, they were gone. Guldo followed after and Jeice as well but before Burter could go, Ginyu stopped him.

"I need you for a task." Ginyu said. Burter nodded. "Check the logs at the docking station, we need to know which one of the Saiyans have been here recently."

Burter looked confused. "Are ya sure, Cap'n? I mean…ya think that kid's Saiyan or somethin?"

Ginyu shrugged. "Just a hunch, probably wrong, but who knows." He answered.

"Whatever ya say, Cap'n." He took off in a quick blue blur, leaving a gust of dusty wind to blow. Shortly after, Ginyu flew away himself..
