Sonic ran up a trail through more familiar territory then flew off a dash ramp. "First Green Hill, then Sky Sanctuary, now Chemical Plant? What's with all these familiar places in Cyber Space?" He collected a Red Star Ring in mid-flight and landed on a portal.

Takumi and Lillymon were in a Digital Space fighting a Angemon and a Angewomon. "Hand of Fate!"

"Celestial Arrow!" Both angels shot light projectiles. Lillymon dodged both of them.

"Angel Rod!" Angemon swung his staff towards Lillymon who twirled around it.

"Temptation!" She clasped her hands emitting red light that damaged Angemon before focusing on Angewomon. "Sun-Crescent Kick!" she glowed with solar energy and charged her heel at Angewomon.

"Heel of Justice!" Angewomon glowed pink then charged. As their boots clashed, light flashed everywhere. They flipped backwards into the air as it died down.

Lillymon flew a circle around Angewomon. "Flower Wreath!" A beautiful chain of flowers appeared and tightened around Angewomon tying her hands to her sides. As she struggled against the surprisingly strong wreath, Lillymon dodged more beams from Angemon before flying up to him. "Sunburst Vine!" Powerful thorns extended from her back, stabbing the target. When he hit the ground, he was defeated.

"Devine Kick!" Even with her arms tied in flowers, Angewomon jumped and kicked Lillymon in the back knocking her over. Lillymon stood up but Angewomon slid her feet into hers knocking her back down. "Angel Dash!" She then held Lillymon's long ivy hair between her feet. "Raise your Spirits!" She flipped upward and Lillymon screamed as she was tossed into the air by her hair then came down onto the ground headfirst with a thud.

"Owowowowow!" She rubbed her head as she got on her knees. "That hurt!"

Angewomon snapped free from the flower rope and prepared another attack. "Heaven's Charm!" Lillymon dove out of the way of a cross of light.

"Lillymon, you'll have to disable her movements completely!" Takumi said.

Lillymon pushed herself back up as Angewomon charged at her with a flying kick. "You go it!" She jumped over her and spun around again. "One Flower Wreath isn't good enough for you huh? Well try this!" She spun around Angewomon faster repeatedly. One by one multiple Flower Wreath's appeared squeezing Angewomon. One on her hips binding her wrists to them again, two more on her upper body where her biceps and torso were restricting her arms further, and three binging Angewomon's legs together around the thighs, knees, and ankles. The wreaths pinned the angel's wings to her body making her drop to the floor rolling back and forth struggling. "Ha!" Lillymon put her hand on her hips and smirked. "Now whatchya gonna do!" She then grabbed Angewomon by her long, blond hair. "Let's see how you like it!" She started spinning her around before throwing her into the air. She held her hands together and they became a golden flower with a vulcan. "Flower Cannon!" She fired a green blast finishing the other angel off. "That's what you get for messing with a girl's hair!"

"What goes around comes around I guess." Takumi replied as he picked up an orb. "Hmm?" He noticed a Waynamon near him. "I thought this place looked familiar."

"Yeah…" Lillymon breathed. "This is where Pete…

The Waynamon looked ready to attack. "No." Takumi said. "Not Pete." It charged towards them. Takumi looked right into Waynamon's eyes. "…Miko." The In-Training Digimon stopped in front of them. "That's who you truly are."

The small Digimon smiled before disappearing leaving another blue orb behind. Takumi picked it up as the portal appeared. "I'll never forget you. Thank you, my friend."

"Let's go Takumi."

"Right." He and Lillymon stepped inside.

Nokia stood in front of Takumi just outside the detective agency. "Um, Takumi… I… I just…"

"What is it Nokia?"

"I will NEVER forgive what those hackers did!"

"Huh?"

"To use such adorable Digimon so selfishly, as their puppets—as their slaves! And the Digimon were so miserable. I felt so bad for them."

"Yeah…I felt the same."

"When I saw what you were doing, I knew I needed to do something."

"What do you mean?"

"Looking on from the sidelines isn't good enough. There must be something I can do to help!"

Takumi smiled. "Nokia…"

"I can't think of anything specific I can do right now. But if I do, you'll be the first to know! Look forward to it!"

Takumi nodded. "I know you'll do good. I look forward to hearing about it once you've given it some thought."

From there the scene changed. It showed Nokia at the café proposing her idea of a team for protecting Digimon. And while Arata and Yuugo of Zaxon declined, Takumi helped her recruit enough hackers for a starting point.

Then they started seeing a series of events involving an amnesiac Waynamon who Kyoko would later name Pete. They saw him helping Takumi with cases and how they came to learn who he truly was. And when the old man and his cat bid Takumi farewell. And how Kyoko pondered the mysterious Yoshito Mizushima. But Takumi convinced her to leave that matter be.

"Not all mysteries in this world need to be solved. Nakano Broadway brings many things together…The spirit world and the world of the living…The normal and the surreal…And now, the physical and the digital…Truly, nothing is impossible in this crazy hole in the wall we call home."

Sonic emerged first and collected his keys. Then Takumi and Lillymon appeared. Nokia and Amy were waiting nearby. "Well, that was a blast from the past." Nokia said. "But what surprised me was that little fella with you!"

"Yeah…" Takumi smiled. "That little guy sure was special. Both as Miko and as Pete. I hope he and Yoshito are happy and together…wherever they are now."

Sonic smiled. "I sure they are Takumi. And it's all thanks to you." He then turned to Nokia. "In other news, you sure went through a lot."

Amy giggled. "I think it was sweet Nokia. Starting a group that fought for the rights of Digimon."

"Thanks."

Takumi smiled. "Many ignored Nokia's ideals. Some even looked down on them. But that didn't stop her."

"Still, isn't a group that fought hackers called the "Rebels" a bit of an oxymoron?" Sonic asked.

"Not with how many hackers who misused Digimon were out there. You should have seen Mirei's blacklist. Oh! That reminds me Nokia, you met her, right?"

"Yeah. During that time you went missing. You know, for the second time. Why?"

"She's in this world right now. She's the one who asked me to find these former Royal Knights."

"For real? That lady gets around."

"I'm sorry, who's Mirei?" Amy asked.

"Some lady who apparently sees the future but doesn't like talking about it." Sonic shrugged. "She's also the reason why Takumi and his friends are in this world. To begin with."

"That's right." Takumi nodded. "She sent Kamishiro Enterprises that data they used for their Digital Engine. It was to bring us here."

"So, she's why we got dumped into this mess?" Nokia asked. "Jeez, she could have asked first!"

"Somehow I don't think it was a matter of her not thinking of it." Sonic squinted. "That lady can be a bit…well…"

"Eccentric?" Takumi sighed. "Understatement of the year. Still, she wouldn't have brought us here without a good reason. She must think we're the only ones who can defeat the corrupted knights."

"Well given that she can "see the future" you'd think she'd find a way to do so without turning me into a ghost!" Nokia complained. "Or maybe at least bring Agumon and Gabumon here so you and Lillymon wouldn't be the only active Digimon and Tamer here!"

"It's okay, we'll manage. And on that note, what's our next target?" Lillymon asked stretching around.

"How about that?" Sonic asked pointing to a giant floating robot leaving a purple trail behind. An enemy known as Squid.

"Fine by me! Come on Takumi, let's show em what we got! I bet that big one has another gear!"

"Okay." Takumi said.

"You three have fun." Amy said before looking at the Koco friend. "We're going to keep looking for this little one's true love."

"Sounds like a plan." Nokia said.

"Okay. We'll come find you girls later." Takumi waved.

Sonic started running with Takumi and Lillymon flying behind him on the glowing trail he made. Once they were close enough Sonic jumped onto the Squid's trail.

Lillymon and Takumi joined them chasing the robot. When it spotted them, it picked up speed. They followed the trail slowly catching up to the body. The Squid turned around but kept moving forward. Its arms pointed at them and started shooting orbs. Sonic and Lillymon dodged them as they kept going with Takumi flying behind Sonic. Once they caught up Sonic used a Homing Attack. Squid stopped and its purple track became a ring around it for Sonic, Lillymon and Takumi to stand on. Squid shot more projectiles that Sonic ran around. It then thrusted its bladed arms at Lillymon. "Evasive action!" Takumi said. Lillymon started dodging the trusts though it looked more like she was dancing with her movements.

"Forgetting someone?" Sonic started attacking the body. He then used a Phantom Rush moving around so fast it looked like he was everywhere.

"Flower Cannon!" Lillymon shot a green blast into the Squid blowing a hole open on its face. Sonic then used a Stomp Attack tearing the rest of it to pieces. As it exploded Sonic dropped to the ground and caught a gear. Lillymon grabbed Takumi's hands as he started falling and slowly lowered him to the grass. "I gotchya big bro!"

"Thanks."

Sonic turned to them. "Nice moves."

"Same to you." Lillymon replied. "And now we have another gear for another gate!"

Takumi looked around and spotted one near a cliff. "How about that one?"

"That'll do." Sonic walked up onto the gate before he noticed something. "Hey, is it me, or does this one seem different?"

Takumi looked up. "Yeah. This one looks like it's already active."

"Eh, well, let's see what happens." Sonic put a hand on the circle and was transported away.

As Takumi and Lillymon put their hands in it next, Lillymon noticed something. "Say, why is this one purple?" She and Takumi were teleported before she could get an answer.

When they came out of another gate they were standing in front of a lake. "Huh. This is new." Sonic noted.

Takumi looked at him. "Yeah, normally we get separated when going into Cyber Space."

"So is this a place from your memories?"

"No. Is it from yours?"

"No. What in the world is-

"Hey, Sonic! You come here to fish too?"

Sonic looked to his left and did a take. "Big!? What are you doing here? HOW did you get here? What even IS here!?"

Takumi looked at the large purple cat holding a fishing rod. "Friend of yours?"

"I dunno." Big the cat replied. "I was looking for fishing spots and wound up here. So now I'm fishin'."

Sonic sighed. "Of course you are. Takumi, Lillymon, Big the cat. Big, Takumi and Lillymon."

"Um... Hello." Takuni waved. He looked at the lake. "So, you like fishing huh? This does look like a good spot for it."

"Would you like to try?" Big asked taking out a second fishing rod. "'l'll let you borrow a rod."

Sonic smiled and took it. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to de-tense for a second."

"Um, Sonic, didn't you yourself say we have bigger concerns right now?" Takumi asked.

"Oh, come on detective, live a little!" Sonic cast the lure into the water and tapped his foot and closed his eyes as he waited.

Big saw the lure dip. "Hey, you've got a bite!"

"Already?" Takumi gasped.

Sonic's eyes snapped open as he pulled a medaka out of the water. "Nice!"

"Wow, awesome! You've caught it already!" Big smiled.

"Yeah, that was really fast." Takumi said.

"And that's why they call me the fastest thing alive!" Sonic bragged.

"Nice catch Sonic! I'll trade you a token for any fish you catch." Big offered. "If you get plenty of tokens, I'll trade them for some of the treasures I found. Just tell me what you want! Froggy really likes those Purple Coins. If you bring me one, I'll let you borrow my rod again."

"Purple Coins?" Takumi reached into his pouch. "You mean these things we've seen lying around?"

Sonic took the coin and flipped it to Big and held the rod towards Takumi. "Here, give it a try."

"Okay." Takumi flung the line into the lake. "It's been a while since I tried this." He felt a bite. "Whoa!" He pulled hard. After a bit of a struggle, he lifted out a crayfish. "Wow!" Takumi fell over as he landed it. "Is that a lobster?!"

"Wow, it's a crayfish!" Big said.

"Good catch dude." Sonic said.

Lillynon jumped up and down. "Oh! Let me try! I wanna try!"

"Okay, okay." Takumi tossed another Purple Coin to Big and gave Lillymon the road. She waited patiently until she got a bite.

"Ah ha! Gotchya!" She pulled it out and another fish came out. "Huh, this is a weird looking fish."

"That's a flying fish." Big said.

"Dosen't look like its flying."

Sonic gave Big another Purple Coin. "Let me give it another go!" He took the road and cast it. Seconds later he felt a bite and pulled out a large. "Wohoo!" He caught it in his arms.

"Is that a carp?!" Takumi gapped. "What else is in this lake?"

"I dunno, take a shot and find out."

"Alright…" Takumi gave Big a coin and took the road. When he felt a tub, he pulled. "Whoa! Urk!" He tugged harder and harder.

"Wow, you got a big one!" Lillymon said.

"Come on man, pull! Pull!" Sonic said.

"Trying…" Takumi grunted. "RrrrRAH!" He pulled up so hard he fell onto his rear as his catch flew above him. It bounced off his head and landed behind him. "Ow! What the- He turned around and saw a red spring. "Oh, you've gotta be kidding me."

"See, this is what happens when people carelessly dump trash in the lakes!" Lillymon exclaimed. "Here, watch me, I'm gonna get the biggest catch yet!"

"Ha! Good luck!" Sonic laughed giving Big another coin. "I doubt it'll be anything bigger than what I just pulled up."

"Oh yeah?!" Lillymon took the road. "Watch and learn!" She stared at the float intently as it drifted. The moment it sank she started pulling. "Oof! It's a big one! It's definitely a big one! Hrrrgh!" Lillymon was nearly pulled into the lake until she regained her footing. The rod looked ready to snap. "HIYA!" She pulled up and it went flying into the air. A giant shadow hung over her before she was crushed.

"Wow! Nice marlin." Big said.

Takumi turned to Sonic. "I think you just got trumped."

"Yeah, okay Lillymon wins."

Lillymon groaned from under her catch. Her eyes were swirls. "If this is winning, I think I'd rather be a loser…"

When Sonic, Takumi and Lillymon came out of the gate they noticed the small girl nearby. "Uh oh." Takumi muttered.

Sonic aproached. "Oh, hey, you show up everywhere."

"Sonic, what are you doing?!" Lillymon whispered.

"Y'know, I…I don't think we were ever properly introduced, I'm Sonic…"

"I know who you are." the girl replied. "Your age, your biometrics, your weaknesses. You live for speed, are short-tempered and short-sighted."

"Someone's got a fan." Takumi muttered. "And you are?"

"I will not share personal information with an enemy!" The girl turned around and drifted away.

"Why are we enemies?!" Sonic asked. "Weird kid."

"Yeah, what's her deal?" Lillymon asked.

Takumi put his hands on his hips. "I don't really get a bad vibe from her though."

"Takumi, are you forgetting what she did to you?"

"Well…true. But I can't shake this feeling that she did it for something important…"

Amy and Nokia were still accompanying the Koco, but now they were also talking with a different Koco with a lavender flower who looked very upset. Amy was giving her a sympathetic stare when she saw someone. "Hey, it's that kid again!"

Nokia looked up to see the ghostly girl looking at the ruins nearby. "Oh, um…hi!" She walked over. "You trying to figure out what these ruins are? I mean they are kinda mysterious. Nobody is here aside from the Koco. I thought this was home to the…accidents or whatever they're called."

"The technology of the ancients exceeds your modern understanding. Unwelcome pests like you will be swiftly eliminated."

"Shesh, I'm just trying to be nice here. So, what, you're saying these ancients lost control over their weird tech and got wiped out?"

"No." The girl left.

"Jeez, what a brat. Just trying to be friendly here." Nokia grumbled.

Sonic then passed by with Takumi and Lillymon gliding on the track he created. "Sonic! Over here!"

Sonic was about to run a lap around the girls but came to a screeching halt and turned to their direction. Something neither Takumi nor Lillymon expected as they were flying fast behind him and were slingshot right past him. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Sonic Amy and Nokia all winced at the thud they made when they crashed into the ground. "Sorry!" Sonic called out before running over to Nokia and Amy. He then noticed the Koco.

"This poor mother says she lost sight of her children." Nokia said.

"Can you lead them back here, please?" Nokia asked.

Sonic crouched in front of the mother and smiled. "Sure thing!" The mother Koco jumped happily prompting Amy to giggle.

Inside Cyber Space the masked man stood in front of Eggman. "So, you finished going over all of Takumi's story?"

"Indeed, I have. I must say it was enlightening. Hearing your side of the events raised a lot of questions of what was going on in your world. It was like reading a book with half of the pages torn out in a random order! Now I feel like I understand everything. I imagine after what you went through learning all this has been…comforting."

The masked man looked down. "It has. Know I understand everything." He looked back at the doctor. "So, has in provided you any clues?"

"Knowing how the two worlds originally intersected is a big deal. Still this dimensional wall dividing them is going to be a tough egg to crack."

"Ah… I guess it wouldn't be so easy otherwise Rie-I mean Crusadermon wouldn't have needed to do all that for her Paradise Lost Plan."

"Oh, don't you worry kid. If a random bunch of twerps could find a way to the Digital World by complete accident, a renown genius like yours truly can find a way too! You just worry about fulfilling your end of our deal and I'll get you there."

"Yes sir."

Sonic led a bunch of Koco children to the others surrounding Amy, Nokia and the other Koco around them. "I think that's the last of them."

"Good job Sonic!" Amy smiled.

Nokia noticed Takumi and Lillymon approach. "Oh, there you are! What were you two doing while we were rounding up this poor mother's children?"

"I'm sorry, "we"?" Sonic asked.

Takumi groaned rubbing his head. "Recovering from impact damage." He then glared at Sonic. "Thank you for the sudden stop with no warning by the way!"

"Sorry. Mirei didn't include airbags with her Cyloop."

"I noticed. Ugh. I feel like I got tackled by a Golomon."

"I don't know why you're complaining." Lillymon mumbled with her hands on her back. "You didn't land on the very sharp and hard object."

"What object?" Amy asked.

"For the record, I've taken hits from Royal Knights, Deadly Digimon, Eaters and all kinds of dangerous stuff. Just a while ago I even got tossed around by the hair and landed on my head! But this?" Lillymon held up a green Chaos Emerald. "This kind of pain, is in a league of its own!" She threw it at Sonic who barely caught before it could hit him in the head.

"Sweet!" Sonic did a small victory dance with two Koco spinning around him before he spun and held it up.

"Great! How many Chaos Diamonds is that now?" Nokia asked.

"Four." Takumi replied. "Three left."

The mother Koco looked at all the Koco around her. One of them spotted her and pushed past two others. The two aproached and twirled around each other happily. Everyone smiled at the sight as they rubbed against each other. Then green light burst from both of them. "What's that?" Takumi asked. The lights flew out of the two and into the sky where a strange symbol could faintly be seen. Then both the mother and child collapsed.

"What just happened?!" Nokai gasped. "Are they…?"

Lillymon dropped to her knees. Amy held her hands over her mouth. Sonic clenched his fists. Takumi solemnly looked down. Then the Koco with the red and white flowers jumped up and down in front of Amy and she kneeled down. "Okay! Okay! We'll keep looking." The Koco happily rolled off.

"She didn't seem at all phased at that." Takumi looked at the other Koco. "None of them do."

"Yeah, they act like none of that happened." Amy said.

Sonic put a hand at his head. "Do we even know what "that" was?"

Amy looked at the motionless Koco. "No. But I got a sense of… completion? Comfort?"

"Yeah." Nokia nodded. "I can't put my finger on it…but I'm sure we did the right thing."

"Weird." Sonic said. "Let's keep moving. I want to wrap up our time here A.S.A.P."

"Sounds good to me!" Amy replied hurrying after the Koco.

The masked man sat on the edge of a tall tower overlooking the island with his hands together. "To think…all this time…"

"What are you doing up here?"

"Gah!" He turned round to see the girl floating behind her. "Don't scare me like that!"

"Can you see the enemy from here?"

"No, I just…needed some time to think."

"Is this about what we learned from Takumi's Mental Data?"

"And other things. All this time I thought I was alone in this…unique situation."

"Alone how?"

"Well…"

"Ah… Hi there." Takumi waved.

"GAH!" The man stood up and turned around. Takumi and Lillymon were right behind him. They had just hit a timed switch giving them more of the map. "How did you get up here?!"

"I can fly." Lillymon replied. "How did you get up here?"

"Ugh…This is what I get for trying to have some me time."

Lillymon turned to the girl. "So, don't you think that Titan was kinda overkill?"

"You are an enemy to be eliminated, and you are powerless compared to its might."

"Maybe as I am now. But once I regain the power I had before coming here, I bet I can take it down. Sonic is also confident that he can do it as Super Sonic. All we need it to clear more Cyber Space areas and grab those Chaos Emeralds!"

"Lillymon, don't tell them what we're doing!" Takumi scolded.

"Doubtful." The girl replied. "In any scenario the results will not change. Additionally, what you seek is in its presence. You've lost the battle before it has even begun."

"I've seen the power of Digimon with my own eyes." The masked man said. "Don't think this will be anything like your previous fights."

"What does that even mean?!" Lillymon asked. Rather than answer, the girl and the boy teleported away. "Hmph! Well, we'll show them! Once I'm Rosemon again, I'm gonna knock that stupid giant to the moon!"

Takumi put a hand at his chin. "How much do those two really know…?"

"Yo, Takumi!" Sonic ran up. "Took me a while to climb up this thing. See anything?"

"Nothing much." Takumi replied. Takumi put on his goggles. "Didn't get much of the map from that puzzle."

Sonic looked around. "Forget the map, check out the view! We can see a lot from here."

"Good point." Takumi twisted the lenses of his goggles and looked around. "Hey! I think I see a gate on the end of that shallow lake!"

"Oh, so those things are binoculars too."

Takumi then noticed something else. "Oh hey, there's Nokia and Amy."

"Did they find that other Koco they were looking for?"

"No. They're just staring at a field. I wonder what's up?"

"Let's have a look."

Sonic and Takumi walked over to see Amy and Nokia conversing with the Koco. They stared at the two for a bit before Takumi felt a presence and looked up. "Guys…"

Sonic looked at Takumi then where he was facing. "You again!?"

The girl floated above them. "Submit. Your reckless actions endanger this world."

"Endanger it how?" Takumi asked.

Sonic stepped towards the girl. "Yeah, care to explain how saving our friends is a bad thing?"

"You are an enemy combatant." the girl said. "I will not share data with you."

"Oh, gee, that's too bad." Lillymon huffed. "I guess we'll just have to keep rescuing our friends and "endangering the world"."

Nokia glared. "Seriously, what is wrong with you?! Takumi wouldn't do anything to hurt nobody!"

"Neither would Sonic!" Amy added. "They're even going to help this Koco reunite with their one true love!"

The girl closed her eyes. "Love". An emotional status too vague and varied in its definition." She shook her head. "UGH! You're all too ignorant to be helped!" She then teleported away.

"Who…" Amy turned to Sonic. "Um, what was that girl?"

"Aside from being a pain? No clue."

Takumi looked around. "So, you girls find anything?"

The Koco looked at the field before them and made a bunch of sounds. "Something wrong?" Sonic asked.

"They said their…addmore was stationed on the far side of this field?" Nokia said.

"Amore." Amy corrected.

"Yeah, that's what I said right?" Everyone stared at her. "So…what's an amore?"

Everyone sighed. "She means her love." Amy said. "But this is the field…"

Everyone took a look. "I'm not seeing a lot of farming going on here." Lillymon said. "Looks like weeds have taken over."

"Well, the Koco are kind of small." Takumi said. "Maybe their amore is here, and we just can't see them? Let's try clearing out some of this wild brush."

"Good thinking." Amy said. "Maybe Sonic can use that new technique of his."

"The Cyloop?" Sonic grinned. "Worth a shot." He dashed into the field and started running circles.

"I'll help too!" Lillymon jumped in and spun around on one foot. "Vicious Vine!" She continued spinning while moving around blowing the weeds away. Together she and Sonic started tearing the overgrowth apart.

"Having a Digimon sure seems handy." Amy said. "But I bet a lot of bad people see that as a reason to use them."

"Yeah. That's what I've been fighting so hard to prevent." Nokia said. "Especially after Digimon were dragged into our world."

"What?"

Lillymon's foot hit something. "Kyaaa!" She tripped and fell face first into the field.

"Lillymon?!" Takumi jumped off the stone he was standing on and ran over to her. "Are you okay?"

Lillymon sat up. "Owie, owie, owie!" She grimaced. "I think I tripped over something…"

"Something?" Takumi started feeling around in the grass. "I hope it wasn't the Koco…" He felt something. "Huh?"

Sonic Cylooped around them and the last of the weeds were shredded. "Piece of cake!"

"Hey, Sonic, catch!" Takumi tossed him a turquoise Chaos Emerald. "Lillymon found another one!"

"I'm seriously starting to think these things have a vendetta or something against me!" Lillymon groaned.

"Awesome!" Sonic repeated the same dance from when they found the green one before holding it up. "That makes five! Just two more to go!" They then returned to Amy and Nokia. The female Koco was jumping happily. "So, all this used to be farmland, huh?"

"Yes. They make it sound like it was abundant." Amy replied. "But now…"

"I wonder what grew here." Nokia said.

"I wonder what could have caused it to end up like this." Takumi said. "It seems like an ideal gardening spot."

Sonic looked around. "I mean… it's grassy?"

"Yup, but… I've seen this kind of recovery in areas Dr. Eggman damaged." Amy replied. "Something ruined this land, and it's barely begun to recover."

"Then we need to make sure it has plenty of time to heal." Sonic said.

"Right!" Amy nodded.

"For now, let's head to that Gate we saw from the tower." Takumi said. "Come on Lillymon." He turned around. "Lillymon?"

Lillymon was twirling around in the field then did a graceful hop followed by a pirouette. Amy giggled. "Quite the ballerina, isn't she?"

"Uh, Takumi?" Sonic gave Takumi a weird glance. "What's she doing? We cleared the weeds off the field…"

"Oh, it's just a habit of hers. As Lillymon and Rosemon anyway." Takumi chuckled. "She loves to dance. Sometimes when I'm not in EDEN I take my Digimon to the Digifarm and she would dance around while taking a break."

"Huh… Okay."

Lillymon finished her twirling and did a bow that Takumi, Amy, and Nokia applauded to. She then flew over and took Takumi's hands. "Come on Takumi, join me!"

Nokia looked at the Cyber Sleuth. "Huh? You dance too Takumi?"

"Well…Lillymon was going on about wanting a dance partner so I kinda looked up how to online. Then we'd go to parts of Kawloon where there was nobody around and…practice."

"Oh, that's so cute Takumi! You should have told me about this! A human dancing with a Digimon? I could have made a video on it to show people humans bonding with Digimon! It could advertise the Rebels cause!"

"Yeah, I would rather you didn't!" Takumi replied blushing. "Besides, we kinda have a job to do right now."

"Come on Takumi!" Lillymon pleaded as she held Takumi's hands together. "It's been so long since I got to dance with my big brother! Please? Pretty please?"

"Oh, come on, not the puppy eyes!" Takumi chuckled. "Fine, fine, but just a quick one."

"Yay!" Lillymon squealed and dragged Takumi to the field. Sonic and the others watched as Lillymon and Takumi took each other's hand and bowed. Lillymon put her other on his back. Takumi did the same. They took slow steps. Moving to a rhythm set in their heads. Takumi leaned Lillymon back as she raised one foot from the ground. He pulled her back and held her hand up so she could twirl.

Nokia grinned. "Those two are pretty good. They really do act like family too! It's so adores!"

Amy giggled. "I'm kind of jealous. I wish I had a big brother who'd do things like that with me."

Sonic smiled. "I can easily see Takumi being a good big brother. I think he was meant to be one."

Nokia nodded. "Totally. That's why I'm so glad he got to meet his Digimon again."

From a distance the ghostly girl and the masked man watched. "I do not understand." the girl said. "Why do they say Takumi and his Digimon are family? They are from two different worlds. They do not share DNA."

The masked man looked up. "Sage…family is about more than just genetics. It's about something much, much bigger than that."

The girl looked at him. "What do you mean? What could mater more than genetics?"

"It's kind of complicated. I don't know how to explain it in words but…I'm sure you'll understand someday. But trust me. I know better than anyone that family isn't something measured by blood." The masked man walked away.

The girl looked at Takumi and Lillymon a bit longer. "A family born of something other than genetics…I wonder if I could…" She shook her head and left.

Sometime later, Takumi and Sonic reached and activated the Gate and were taken to a new location. In Takumi's case, a large blue area that looked like a concert stage. "Isn't this the Demon's Den?" Takumi asked.

Jimmy Ken jumped down from the stage and stood in front of Takumi with a Boltmon and two SkullMeramon. "Ho, boy, here we go again." Lillymon said getting into a fighting stance.

"Be careful Lillymon! I know you're stronger than you were the last time we fought him here but you're on your own this time! And that Boltmon is a level above you."

"I got it!"

"Metal Fireball!" One of the SkullMeramon spat a ball of blue flame at Lillymon but she twirled around it before returning fire.

"Flower Cannon!" She shot the SkullMeramon knocking it down. Boltmon came charging at her.

"Watch that axe!" Takumi said. Boltmon swung down and Lillymon jumped back. As the axe slammed Takumi noticed it getting stuck into the ground. "He's open, strike back!"

"Sun-Crescent Kick!" Lillymon kicked Boltmon in the face making it stumble back. She landed on her feet just before the other SkullMeramon made its move.

"Blazing Iron Whip!" It started swinging the chains around its arms at Lillymon. She hopped, spun, twirled, and posed around each and every swing in what looked like a dance rather than dodging. The other SkullMeramon got up and stood behind her before using the same move sending more chains at her. She kept her evasive dance up but started to panic. She flew up to evade the swarm. Both SkullMeramon retracted their chains and looked up at her. "Chain of Pain!" They each shot two chains from their arms.

"Look out!" Takumi said. "They're trying to ensnare you like they did before!"

"Rather not go through that again!" Lillymon replied as she flew away from the snaking chains as they chased her.

Takumi heard a stomp and saw that Boltmon had gotten up and pulled his axe out of the ground. The giant was reeling back. "Lillymon, Boltmon's trying to snipe you!"

"Berserk!" Boltmon threw his giant axe. Lillymon yelped and leaned her head back enough to barely limbo under the spinning axe. It boomeranged back towards her, and she ascended over it.

But then she felt something tug on her legs and pin them together. She looked down to see one of the SkullMeramon had lashed her ankles together in its chains. "Not this agaaaaaaaiiiiiiinnnnnnn!" she screamed as she was slammed into the ground.

"Lillymon!"

The two MetalMeramon pounced onto her. "Hey! Get off! Let me go!" Over the sound of rattling chains. Lillymon bucked and thrashed, but her attackers were physically stronger and after taking a couple of kicks from her chained legs grabbed them. "Ow! Not so tight!" The two backed up pulling their chains. One of them coiled around Lillymon's legs, the other held her hands together. With the chains pulled taunt, her arms and legs were pulled in opposite directions holding her off the ground. "Gah! That hurts!" She looked to her left at the sound of heavy footsteps and saw Boltmon looming over her. "Oh boy." She grunted and started struggling against the chains binding her.

Takumi watched in horror as Boltmon held his axe overhead ready to chop. "Lillymon, no!"

"Tomahawk Crunch!"

Lillymon grasped the chains tethered to her wrists in her hands and pulled her legs with all her might. The MetalMeramon holding her legs was pulled with her and Lillymon pulled herself away as the axe came down while at the same time yanking the MetalMeramon under it. It was instantly destroyed by Boltmon. "Nice move!" Takumi grinned.

Lillymon landed on her feet which even though the SkullMeramon pinning them was destroyed were still lashed together in the remains on the chains. She then charged at the other one with a drop kick but it sidestepped them grabbed her. "Hey! Put me down you metal-face freak!" It wrestled her to the ground and took out its chains rebinding Lillymon so her hands were bound behind her back and her arms were pressed to her torso by several coils of chains while burying her wings under them as well. It then held her up in its arms and held her towards Boltmon as it turned towards her. "Oh crud." She struggled and squirmed in SkulMeramon's grasp, but this time it made sure to hold onto her as tight as it could.

"Let her go!" Takumi shoulder charged into SkullMeramon's back making it stumble forward a bit. It then looked over its shoulder and kicked Takumi so hard he was flung back.

"Takumi!" Lillymon shouted. She then rammed the back of her head into SkullMeramon's head making him drop her.

"Tomahawk Crunch!" Boltmon swung at her but she dove into the ground and SkullMeramon was sliced apart behind her. Boltmn raised his axe again while she was on the ground.

"Lillymon!" Takumi dove, grabbed her, and rolled out of the way just as the axe came down. He noticed Boltmon got his axe stuck into the ground and was having much more trouble pulling it out this time. He stood up lifting Lillymon up in his arms and ran to the side where pillars held up stands for an audience and hid behind the pillar before putting Lillymon down. "Are you alright?"

"I'd be better if these dumb chains from Digimon that were just destroyed weren't somehow still keeping me tied up so tight! With no Andromon to slice them off me this time no less!"

"Hang on." Takumi kneeled behind her and started working on the chains binding her arms.

Lillymon yelped as she heard booming footsteps coming towards them. "Takumi, hurry!"

"I'm trying! This is tricky…" The chains rattled as they came down from Lillymon's torso. "There! Now for your hands…"

Boltmon stood on the other side of their hiding place and held his axe up with both hands. Just as Lillymon felt the chains slip from her wrists she dove into Takumi moving both of them away before the axe tore through the pillar and nearly got them both. She got up and flew towards it again and kicked her chained feet into its head. It batted her aside and grabbed its axe in both hands. "Berserk!" It threw the weapon at her.

"Lillymon, use its move against it like Rapidmon did!"

Lillymon smirked. "Way ahead of ya!" She bent her knees and ascended so the spinning axe went just below her, cutting into the chain in the process. "Yes!" She stretched her legs and shook the last of her binds off her. As the axe turned around, she flew towards Boltmon. She moved to the side of a punch and flew in front of its face. "Flower Cuter!" She spun upwards kicking into its face making it cover its face with its hands. She then flew up as the axe returned slamming into Boltmon. It toppled over and Lillymon prepared her final attack. "Dual Hand…" She held her hands apart and Flower Cannons grew on each one. "Flower Paddle Bomb!" She fired a flurry of giant green blasts that rained down on Boltmon destroying it. Lillymon spun around Takumi and did a cheery pose. "We did it!"

"We sure did!" Takumi saw an orb and a portal appear on the stage as the Jimmy Ken clone disappeared. He climbed up and picked up the orb before he and Lillymon escaped.

Sonic ran around a loop and down a slope that launched him upward. As he descended on a Red Star Ring and a spring it bounced him up to the portal.

This time the vision showed Takumi and Nokia defeating Jimmy Ken. Followed by Nokia's scuffle with Fei until it was broken up by Yuugo. Next, they Agumon and Gabumon become WarGreymon and Metal Garurumon before she and Takumi defeated a Hacker with black variants of those Digimon. Then they saw a man in a blue coat and black hair battling her Digimon…

"Sorry we scared you, Keisuke! I'm Nokia Shiramine! I'm the leader of the Rebels Tamer Team!"

After that scene, Takumi, Sonic and Lillymon reappeared. Sonic collected the keys. "So, some of Nokia's personal memories were in the mix again."

Amy nodded. "Yeah, we saw." She looked at Lillymon to see her shaking like a leaf. "Lillymon? What's wrong?"

"Takumi…I feel it again!"

"Feel what? Wait!" Takumi put on his goggles. "Alright!" He pressed the button.

"Lillymon Digivolve too…" Yellow rings appeared on the ground around Lillymon's feet. They rose over her transforming her body into a blue form with 0s and 1s. It was of a taler woman with a rose on her head, thigh high boots, a cape and a thorny whip coiling around her arms. More rings dropped down around her giving her color. Pale skin, red lips, a pink jewel on her chest, black boots, green cape, blond hair, a red body suit to match the rose on her head…. She leapt into the air swinging her whip. As she landed on her feet a red rose-shaped light appeared behind her. "Rosemon!"

"Wow!" Amy said. "I thought her fashion was good as Lillymon! That's a beautiful shade of red!"

"From a cutie to a beauty!" Nokia said.

Rosemon laughed. "You two are too kind."

"Now we have you in Mega form!" Takumi said.

"Is that the final level?" Sonic asked.

"Well, usually Mega is the highest level a Digimon can reach. But we meet Digimon that can go beyond it."

"Yup!" Nokia grinned. "And you know who can? Agumon and Gabumon!"

"Those two?" Amy asked. "Really?"

"Yup! If you though they looked cool as WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, you've seen nothing yet!"

"By the way Nokia…" Takumi said. "Who was that guy? The one with the black hair?"

"Oh, you mean Keisuke?"

"Keisuke…Keisuke…" Takumi thought for a moment then his eyes snapped open. "Wait! That's it! I knew I saw that guy's face somewhere before!"

"Oh? You know him Takumi?"

"Well…I wouldn't say I know him. But we both go to the same school. Come to think of it…before I met you and Arata in Kawloon that day, Keisuke was expelled from school under suspicions of being a malevolent hacker…"

"Wait, really?" Nokia asked. "I mean, he's a hacker, but definitely not the bad kind."

"He didn't seem like a bad person to me." Amy said. "Especially when he was with those little girls helping Nokia train."

"Huh?" Nokia looked at her. "What do you mean?"

"You know, those sisters?"

"The cute Digimon with that masked guy? What's that go to do with Keisuke?"

Everyone stared at her. "Um…Nokia?" Sonic muttered.

"Yeah?"

"That dude with the mask was that Keisuke guy."

"Eh?" Nokia blinked. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHH?! For real?!"

"You're just figuring this out now?" Takumi sighed. "You were never the sharpest of us but come on. The coat, the hair, not to mention he had the exact. Same! Digimon!"

"Huh…Now that you mention it…"

"So anyway…" Amy shrugged. "This Keisuke guy was also someone who treated Digimon with care?"

"Yeah! Like I said, totally a good guy! You know it's funny…the more I think about it, he kinda reminds me of you Takumi."

Takumi blinked at Nokia. "Huh? How so?"

"He likes helping people and has some good relationships even though his character is poorly developed."

"What does that even mean?"

"He was also a pretty tough Tamer. I bet he could give even you a run for your money!"

Takumi chuckled. "Well…" He looked down solemnly. "We'll probably never know now. He'd have forgotten Digimon like everyone else after we changed reality."

Nokia sighed. "…Yeah."

Amy looked back and forth between the two. "Wait, "changed reality"?"

Sonic squinted. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"A story for another time perhaps." Takumi replied. "Right now, we still have things to do. Ready to go Rosemon?"

Takumi's Mega Level Digimon smiled. "I'm always ready, big brother."

In Cyber Space the girl and the masked man stood before Eggman. "It seems Takumi managed to Digivolve his Digimon far faster than we thought." the man said.

"No matter. Just keep tabs on the hedgehog." the doctor ordered. "I want constant updates!"

"Yes, sir." the girl nodded.

"And keep looking for a way to get me out of here!"

"We're looking through all safe options." the masked man replied. "Once we got more solid ideas, Sage here will run some simulations on all means of executing them to make sure they're safe."

"Keep up the good work, you two."

"Thank you, Doctor." the girl said.

"Any luck on your end?" the masked man asked.

"This…is going to take me some more time than I thought. I figured my previous methods of dimensional travel would work, but the problem is that the Digital World is…well, Digital. It's not easy getting it to interact with the physical."

"Yeah…if we're not careful we might end up making the Paradise Lost Plan Version 2.0."

"Be patient kid. I'll handle this, you just handle getting me out of here."

"Got it."

You thought we'd go through this without Big and his fishing minigame? HA! Anyway, almost done with Kronos Island. Should be finished in just two more chapters.
