One piece just so happens to not belong to me. That story belongs to the goat himself, Oda.

To those who are enjoying this story so far, thank you.

"Jay, hold him down!" Nami shouted. Today had been a long day, I ran over immediately and slammed Luffy into the deck of the ship.

"Jay." Luffy whined. "Let me go, I'm hungry!"

"I'm sorry Captain, the rest of us need to eat too. We can't let you finish all the food on the way to the island." I grabbed his arms and proceeded to tie them around the mast as many times as possible to stop him from stretching further. "I'll let you out the second the island is in sight."

"Come on, just one bite?" Luffy asked.

I picked up an apple and tossed it to him. "No more until the island is in sight."

"Thanks Jay!" Luffy smiled as he devoured the apple whole.

30 minutes later. "Jay!" Luffy called. "I'm hungry."

"No more!" Nami and I shouted in unison.

I jumped off the ship again and went to walk further ahead on my own. "So much work." I sighed.

"You barely did anything. You haven't even leveled up once during this journey." Asobu complained.

"Is me leveling up really that important to you?" I asked her.

"Of course it is!" Asobu yelled. "I get more benefits if my user is strong!"

"Huh?! What benefits does a machine even need?" The whole idea was a little confusing.

"I'm not a machine dumbass! I'm a system spirit, we're living beings with a home planet and all! We offer power to young individuals to help us defeat our evil counterparts! They're criminals that fled the planet and started wreaking havoc in a full spirit form." She explained. "I'm looking forward to a nice dinner tonight, level up enough and I can have that."

"Right." I answered sarcastically. "It's just a random computer girl in my head, makes sense I guess. I mean what was I thinking, that a machine could somehow have a gender. That was honestly dumb on my part."

"Hey guys! I can see the island up ahead!" Nami shouted.

Luffy, in his excitement, somehow broke out of his restraints, broke the main mast and immediately scarfed down the rest of our food. "Finally!" He yelled gleefully. That's when the boat began to sink.

Nami smacked him over the head. "You fucking idiot!"

I ran over to the ship and picked up Luffy before he could fall into the water. "Looks like you guys will have to swim the rest of the way." I laughed.

"Perfect, swimming to an island filled with fishmen. There's no way this could go wrong." Nami replied sarcastically. Zoro on the other hand was just angry because the water woke him up from his nap.

1 hour of swimming later. We had finally arrived at the island. Well at least the swimmers. Luffy and I were already here. Nami pulled herself out of the water and glared at Luffy. "This is all your fault." She began squeezing and twisting her shirt in an attempt to get all the water out.

One of the patrolling fishmen had rounded the corner, seeing Zoro. "Hey! Who the hell are you?!"

Zoro immediately cut him down. "I'm not in the mood." He growled.

"I said sorry." Luffy offered with a smile on his face.

"Shut the hell up!" Zoro and Nami shouted in unison.

"Let's just hurry up." Nami sighed. "Jay I hope the money you had wasn't on the boat."

I shook my head as a screen appeared next to me. Completely invisible to everyone else. Suddenly a bag appeared in my hand. I threw it to Nami. "Here it is "

The three strawhats looked at me in confusion. Luffy had stars in his eyes. "How did you do that?"

"Devil fruit." I shrugged.

"Makes sense." The three nodded.

Luffy began bombarding me with questions about my fruit, how I could walk on water and all the other cool things that I do. In his words at least.

Nami walked over to the bag and opened it up. "These are all 10,000 beri notes. It's stacked neatly and all of it is here." She smiled. "Let's head to my village, the rest of the money is there."

As soon as we entered the town, we noticed the glares of the people in the village. All looking at Nami with hatred in their eyes.

"What's with them?" Luffy asked.

"Just ignore it." Nami told him. "Once we get to my house and head over to Arlong it'll all be over."

The villagers began slamming their doors and locking themselves in their houses. Eventually after passing by the village, we came across a house with tangerine trees planted just outside.

"This is it." Nami announced.

Nami led us to the point in which she hid all the money. "There's a lot of it, it'll probably take a while to move."

"Leave it to me." I offered. "I can carry the money using my devil fruit and we'll be able to deliver it to Arlong a whole lot easier. The notes will be converted as well, making it easier to count."

Nami nodded. "Fine, I'll trust you with this then."

At that moment Nojiko walked out the house. Nami looked over at her for a second. "You guys can talk to Nojiko, Jay and I will head over to Arlong and get him to leave."

As Nami and I made it to the front gates of Arlong park, a young boy came running towards us from behind.

"Hey, you! Out of the way!" He shouted. Tears falling from his face. "I'm here to kill Arlong! Arlong killed my father!"

Nami smiled. "There's no possible way you can defeat him, he'll be gone by tomorrow. I promise."

"You're going to f-fight Arlong?" He asked as he trembled in fear.

"No." She bent down ruffling his hair. "I'm going to pay him to go away, here just in case it doesn't work." She gave him some money so he could survive the next time Arlong came to collect if things went south.

The little boy nodded and ran off. Nami walked through the gates, I followed her up to Arlong's table. "Oh you're back, Nami! That was a long trip! Well how was your haul this time?" Arlong asked. "And please introduce our guest."

Nami smiled. "I have more than enough!" She gestured to me as I grabbed the money out of my inventory and dropped the case in front of Arlong. "100,000,000 berries, my friend here offered to pay the remaining ten million, just enough to pay off the village.

"Shahahaha! A briefcase, real professional." Arlong opened the case and counted the money. "You finally did it Huh? I can't believe this guy next to you was nice enough to do such a thing. What did you have to give him? Your maps? Your chastity? Which was it?" He asked.

I stepped forward. "Neither of the two, I asked for her loyalty. My captain needed a navigator, she just so happened to fit the spot. Surprised you'd give her up for just 100 million. Her skills are priceless."

Arlong looked surprised. "You're quite strange Nami, deciding to become the pirate you so desperately hate. It's almost poetic."

Nami glared at him. "You got your money, now leave my island!"

Arlong stood up and signaled to his crewmates. "As you wish, I'm a prideful fishman. I'll stay true to my word." Arlong signaled his crew to leave and they all left through the gates of Arlong park.

"Are we really leaving, chu?" Chew asked.

Arlong just smirked. "Maybe it's about time we moved on to bigger fish, how about the grand line? It's about time I sink my teeth back into those waters."

"But what about the island?" Kuroobi followed.

"We're not the only fishmen in these seas. I know that a rival of mine would love to come here and take whatever treasure I left behind." Arlong laughed once more. "We'll let him deal with these pathetic humans. Though I do regret it quite a bit. If I knew she'd return so early, I would've called that human Nezumi and told him to take the money away."

Hachi whistled as a massive sea cow rose from the ocean. "Let's go Mohmoo, we're on our way to the grandline." The fishmen jumped into the sea and disappeared.

Nami and I stood in stunned silence. "He actually left, that leaves us with a free village, we may be broke but hey, at least the village is safe." I said with a smile.

Nami immediately hugged me. "Let's go back and tell the others!"

(On my other story, I made it to where Arlong didn't hold his end of the deal. I wanted to see how the story would change if he did. We'll see him again.)

Luffy and Zoro were invited into Nojiko's house for a talk. "So you guys, are you gonna tell me who you both are? My name is Nojiko."

"Zoro." The swordsman answered shortly.

Luffy smiled widely. "I'm Luffy, I'm gonna be king of the pirates. I'm Nami's Captain. We're here to pay for the island so she can join us as a navigator."

"So she finally made enough money. Are we sure Arlong is gonna hold up his end of the deal?" Nojiko asked.

Zoro smirked. "Well if he doesn't we can just beat his ass."

Luffy began rocking back and forth. "Tell me more about Nami."

Nojiko then went on to explain about her past when suddenly the door burst open and Nami jumped into her arms.

"Nami, you alright? What's wrong?" Nojiko asked.

"He's gone." Nami told her.

Luffy looked concerned. "Did something happen to Jay? Was he killed in a fight?"

"No, No, No. I'm alright." I announced as I walked through the door.

"Phew, I thought we lost our resident pack mule. Or would you prefer I call you a scout since you can walk on water?" Zoro said with a mocking tone.

"Damn, I wasn't aware that our swordsman cursed with a lack of direction actually had an opinion on this crew." I countered.

Zoro smiled. "I think we'll get along just fine, how about a quick spar for fun?"

"I ain't strong enough for all that." I whispered as I took a seat.

"Who's gone Nami?" Nojiko asked.

"Arlong, he actually left. He's finally gone." Nami cried. Though now it was clear that they were tears of joy.

Nojiko seemed to transfer into a state of both shock and joy. "He just took the money and left? No sign of regret, just indifference to the whole situation? I'm happy he left but, after all he put us through, for him to just leave doesn't seem like much of a victory."

Nami nodded. "I felt the same way, either way though it's still a reason to celebrate. One last time for us to spend together before I leave this island for who knows how long."

"I heard, going off to be a pirate are you? Guess that means we should party as much as possible." Nojiko decided. "I'll go tell the rest of the villagers the good news."

Nojiko left the house and the news of Arlong's departure quickly spread. Some thought he'd come back and others just let loose as the party ensued.

3 days later. "Hey come on Jay." Zoro held a cup of sake up in front of my face. "It's just one drink. It's not that big of a deal. Warriors have to have a good balance of sake and training to be truly strong."

I pushed the cup away once more. "I already told you, I don't drink. Back where I come from, we're not allowed to drink until the age of 21."

Zoro sighed. "This isn't the island you come from, there's no laws against drinking at 18."

I yawned. "And as I've told you, that's not the only reason I don't drink."

"Really, then how about you tell me the actual reason." Zoro pushed the cup up to my mouth again. "Otherwise, you're gonna have to drink."

"I don't want to consume any substances that have a chance of influencing who I am." I told him.

"I thought we'd get along, turns out you're a pretty boring person."

"Yea boring enough to have fun walking across the ocean because I hate the feeling of being restrained to a ship. There's no point to drinking and partying, I'm here for the social aspect. This place bores me to no end, I'd rather be in a fight for my life."

Zoro looked panicked. "You did not just do that."

I was confused. "Do what?"

For the next hour or so, Zoro explained why warriors enjoyed their time off. He went over why you never complain about peace. He even talked about the times where he thought the same. "You're cursing us with another unneeded battle. By saying that you want to be in a fight for your life, our resident god, whoever they are will fulfill that wish." At that moment, a loud roar could be heard.

Back with Luffy. He had left the group in search of Genzo, he wanted to make sure he was alright after the long party. After a bit of walking he ended up on a hill overlooking the ocean.

There Genzo sat, a cross placed in the ground in front of him. This was the place where Nami's adoptive mother had died.

Luffy seemed interested but stopped himself from interfering, he didn't want to interfere with the meeting of a dead family member. He knew what that was like after all.

"Straw hat Luffy, right?" Genzo asked. He stood and turned, facing Luffy with a serious expression. "I've heard that Nami has decided to be your navigator, you're going on a long adventure, correct?"

"Yeah." Luffy smiled.

"Then listen to what I'm about to say. Please protect her for me. If I hear that she's hurt, I will personally come after you." Genzo promised.

"Of course." Luffy's smile grew. "Nami's my friend and my navigator. As long as I live, I won't let any harm come to her."

Genzo smiled back. "Then I'll allow her to go with you, take care of her for me." He said again.

"Trust me. I'll accomplish my dreams and become the Pirate King, we won't let any of our crewmates die. We'll find the One piece together." Luffy turned and started walking back to join the party.

"That boy is going places. He'll make it far as a pirate." That, he was sure of. Genzo sat back down and gazed out at the open ocean.

That's when he heard an explosion off in the town. He stood up in alarm and began running back to his village.

10 minutes earlier.

The rumbling grew as an army of fishmen began raiding the town. Zoro stood up immediately. "What's going on? Is Arlong back?" He asked.

Nami, who had been keeping us company, looked through the window and saw the fishmen. "This isn't Arlong, I don't recognize any of them. Besides, it's not actually an army, there's only six of them."

The villagers had begun retreating the village, only a few casualties in the process. One of the fishmen had approached the town's doctor and bowed politely. "Hello, my name is Gad. I'm a hammerhead shark fish man. One with a love of the great weapon, and my three wives. I'm sorry but I must kill you today, by the order of my captain." The fishman pulled out a staff with a hammerhead at its end. He swung the huge weapon but was countered by my kick.

Whirling slam(Slams his hammer into the ground and causes water to erupt in the area.)

I dusted off my clothing and backed away, Grabbing Zoro and putting him in front of Gad. "You handle him." I then abruptly retreated from the scene, Zoro may be only level 48 but he's a much better match then I am for that fishman.

Zoro looked at my retreat in confusion before turning back to Gad. "Why are you attacking this town?"

Gad bowed. "It is nice to meet a fellow warrior, I hope we can have a good battle."

Zoro smirked. "Deciding to stay silent huh? Well then, I'll get it out of you eventually." Zoro drew his blades.

"Hey Emeraude, why do we have to fight for this man?" A fish woman asked rudely.

"Because Rubis, Gad decided to join him and as his wives we must stand behind him." Emeraude told her.

"It'll be fun Rubis, I don't know how I feel about killing innocent people but I suppose a fight is a fight." Another fish woman smiled.

"Saphir, we can't really call them people. They're just humans." Rubis told her.

"Gad said he's here for a reason. All we have to do is follow his lead." Emeraude added.

"Come on guys, they aren't all that bad. They're pretty interesting. Think about it, they're born weaker than us. Doesn't that make you pity them? At least a little bit?" Saphir asked.

"You know, you're a really smart girl." Rubis said sarcastically.

"Thanks!" Saphir beamed, not catching the sarcasm.

"Let's just continue with the mission." Emeraude interrupted.

"So one group of fish men leave, just to be replaced by another?" Nami asked in disdain as she stood in front of the three girls.

"Hey Emeraude, who's she?" Saphir whispered.

"She wouldn't know, you idiot!" Rubis snapped.

"Rubis, calm down. There's more important things to focus on right now." Emeraude reminded her.

"Nami. Do you need help?" Nojiko asked.

"You think we could beat these three?" Nami asked.

Luffy neared the village but was stopped by a fish man. "Hello, my name is Kitajima. My captain asked that I keep anyone from entering the village. I'm sorry but you need to turn around."

"Not gonna happen!" Luffy promised. "My crew is still inside, if you're not gonna move. I'll beat you and force you to get out my way!"

I walked around the village looking for the other enemies. There were six of them when I first saw them, where did they all go? "I hope Zoro is doing alright, maybe I should've helped him fight. That would've been the smarter choice."

"You're so dumb!" Asobu shouted. "A level 60 would've given you some really good xp, why did you not help?"

"Oh shut up! If I'm likely to die today then the least you can do is miss dinner!" I yelled back.

"Hm, what's this?" A voice could be heard. "A human off on his own? Must be looking to die."

As I turned towards the voice, I was hit by a Morningstar that sent me flying.

Zoro flew into a nearby building and remembered how he ended up in this situation. "When I see Jay again, I'm gonna kill him."

"You're pretty strong, swordsman." Gad praised. "If only you had the looks to go with it, I have a plan here. I can't beat that tyrant that gives our race a bad name. He has a bodyguard and I can't beat them both on my own."

"So what? Are you looking for my help or something?" Zoro asked him.

"No, right now I'm just enjoying this fight. Right now, that captain of mine is off somewhere on his own. After dealing with you, I'll head over there." Gad dashed at him again.

Zoro jumped out of rubble and dodged out of the way of the powerful hammer. 'Damn he's fast.'

Gad swung around and gathered water on the tip of his hammer. "Whirling slam!"

Zoro jumped out of the way of the wave. Ducking under another swing he slashed out with two of his blades, cutting Gad on his cheek. Which turned out to be the wrong move.

"You cut… my face? I work really hard on my looks, aiming for the face isn't really honorable!" Gad stopped holding back and began running at full speed. "Whirling tide!" He yelled as the wind caused Zoro to be lifted off the ground. "Take a nap!" He shouted as he slammed down on Zoro, knocking him out immediately.

Gad left the swordsman there and found his wives. "Let's go, you three. My plan starts now!"

"I'm gonna stay here." Saphir interrupted. "I can't end this fight without determining the winner." She told him as she gestured to Nami.

"We'll have to leave the island immediately after, you don't have time for this." Gad told her.

"Let's go, Saphir!" Rubis ordered.

"Saphir, as his wives we must follow his lead." Emeraude reminded her.

Saphir bowed to the group. "Thank you for all your help, and thank you Gad for accepting me as a wife. I'm sorry but this fight is really important for me, I must believe that I've grown stronger. I hope to see you all again."

Gad nodded. "I understand, though our marriage may have been brief. I wish you the best."

"Saphir, do you really have to stay?" Rubis asked.

"Yes." She told them as her smile dropped, her face now serious.

"We must get going, Gad-sama." Emeraude told him.

"Right." The group ran off towards where they last saw their captain.

Nami and Nojiko were stunned. Their fight with the trio was short but they were clearly outmatched. They got lucky that despite their disdain for humans, those girls weren't actually evil. The only one left was the one that Nami had taken on.

"So can we continue?" Saphir asked Nami as she spun her spear.

"Alright." Nami smiled. She readied her staff. "I didn't think merfolk could actually be nice people."

"I'm a fishman, or fish woman but yea we're not all that bad." Saphir smiled.

"Morning dew!" Willy shouted as he slammed his weapon into the ground.

"You're slow but if I get hit by even one of those, it's probably gonna hurt a whole lot more than a splash of water." I jumped back as he went for another. "Snowball!" I yelled, throwing a ball of ice at the fishman.

'10 damage dealt.'

"That's nothing!" Willy laughed. "Ear rupture!" He yelled as a blast of sound flew at me, taking away my hearing. My hands instinctively went to my ears causing me to not be able to react to the hit that came next.

'Critical hit! You have taken 74 damage!'

I was sent flying as my hearing finally returned. "Damn, I was hoping to save those stat points but I don't have much of a choice. I'll have to level up my strength some other time, just once more. Everything will have to go into agility." My agility jumped from 33 to 49 as the 16 stat points were distributed.

I stood up, ready to give it another try. Willy jumped into the sky, slamming down on my location. I slipped around the attack and delivered 5 quick kicks to his back.

'5x combo, 10 damage dealt. Remaining health: 380.'

I sighed. "Damn his endurance is high." As he turned to attack me, I jumped back pelting him with two snowballs before landing and dodging another strike of his morning star, striking out quickly with another kick.

'22 damage dealt.'

"Is that all you got?" Willy mocked. "You hit like a human. Oh wait, I forgot. You are one." He laughed.

"That's where you're wrong." I smirked, kicking him four more times as his body froze. "I'm a Jokull." Cold aura began falling from my body as I hit him with as many snowballs and kicks that I could get in during the freeze. Each individual snowball only did ten damage but it began to add up. Coupled with the fact that every hit was critical, well…

'20x Critical hit combo. 258 damage dealt. Remaining health: 100/400.'

Willy, heavily injured and not impressed, let out a screech. My hearing was once again lost, without even being able to counter I was grabbed and slammed into the ground repeatedly.

[Endure has been activated, you'll be incapable of dying for one minute. Cooldown 1 hour…]

Though my health had reached 0 and wouldn't drop further, I still felt the pain of each time I hit the ground. That went on for another 20 seconds before it finally ended as I felt the arm leave my leg.

I stood up, my hearing slowly coming back. In front of me, I saw a tall hammerhead fish man take out Willy and knock him unconscious. He walked up to me, saying something but I couldn't hear a thing.

"Hey kid, you alright?" Gad asked. "You did a pretty good job against that guy, it must've been a hard fight."

I nodded, my hearing finally back. "Thanks for the help."

Gad smiled. "No problem, alright girls, we gotta go. That bounty hunter will be here any moment, and I don't know about you two, but I'm not getting caught."

"Alright Gad-Sama." Emeraude and Rubis chorused as they ran after him, disappearing into the ocean.

A moment later I was approached by a man. "I came here to battle Arlong before Luffy got to him, it seems another gamer got the jump on me. My name's Drew, nice to meet you." He looked over at the unconscious Willy and smiled. "That's Morningstar Willy, 25 million berries. That's two bounties that are worth just as much as Arlong, in one day. Reaper's chain!" Black chains flew from his fingers, wrapping around Willy and causing him to disappear.

I shook my head, finally over the psychological damage I took in my battle with the orca fishman. "Thanks for the help."

"Oh so you can talk, no problem. I'll see you around, maybe you should rethink joining Luffy's crew. You're probably a target for some of the others." He warned before turning around as dark wings spawned from his back and he flew off. Before he disappeared from sight, I was able to observe him.

As I made it back to the village, I saw a group of young men training under the tutelage of Zoro. "We're leaving shortly, you men will be the protectors of this village when we leave. Train hard and make sure that attacks like these never happen again."

The young boy that Nami and I had seen earlier was among the group, doing push-ups as instructed. "Hey Zoro." I greeted.

Zoro took one look at me and was seething with rage. "Look at you, you're perfectly fine. Not a scratch on you, maybe you could've helped me with that fight you forced on me while I was half drunk."

I smiled nervously. "To be fair, even if you weren't drunk you would've lost, and hey look at it this way, he wasn't a swordsman."

Zoro approached me with a devilish smile. "Now originally, I was planning on killing you when you showed up. I just thought of something so much better." He held up a bottle of Sake. "Drink this and all will be forgiven."

I looked at him in horror. "How about you just kill me, I don't want to know what that will do to me."

Zoro's smile grew darker as he grabbed me and forced me to chug the whole bottle. The next thing I knew, I woke up on a strange ship.

"Hey Nami! He's up." A girl yelled.

I sat up and began glancing around. The ship was big, bigger than the merry but I could tell we'd never use it. Why? Because the figurehead was nothing but a giant drill.

Nami walked out of one of the rooms with a smirk on her face. "Hey there party boy, can you help me with my tangerine tree. You think it could fit in that inventory of yours!"

I tried to move but my head was in a great deal of pain. "What the hell happened?"

Nami just laughed and walked away. "I'll talk to you later, after you sobered up."

"Asobu?" I called. "Explain."

The sound of distorted laughter could be heard within my head. "Well, after drinking that Sake you immediately got drunk. After that, you started another party and went a little crazy. I never thought I'd see you that way. It was fucking hilarious. It was worth missing a nice dinner. Hold on, Hold on. I should be able to bring your memories back through the use of the system."

The next ten minutes of my life watching a horror film starring me, were the worst ten minutes of my life. "Why? Why did I do that? I'm never gonna live this down am I?"

Zoro walked out of one of the rooms with a huge dumbbell in his left hand. "Oh hey party boy, you were actually entertaining last night. Like I promised, all is forgiven."

"Fuck you!" I scowled. "Where are we headed?" I asked.

"Nami says, we're on our way to a place called syrup village. You said something about how that should be our next destination in your sleep, and Luffy agreed." He explained.

"Anything new?" I asked, standing up fully. The hangover finally fading a bit.

"Hey captain! What should we play next?" A voice asked. I looked over to see a girl I never met before.

Zoro saw me looking. "She's the new crew member. She apparently beat Nami in a fight and after realizing she had nowhere to go, Luffy invited her on. Her name is Saphir."

Saphir is a slim and wheat-colored fishwoman with short and white hair as well as blue eyes. She wears a blue necklace, a blue tube top, a gold wristband in each hand, a long blue-skirt, and a pair of sandals. There is a tattoo of the crew's Jolly Roger on her right hand and a piece of speckled and dark-orange cloth which is tied to her waist.

I laid back down on the deck. "I'm taking a nap."

Zoro grinned. "I like that idea."

Responding to comments

Everyone: Feel free to skip this part if you don't want to see my response to comments, this in no way contributes to word count. I write everything on docs and then transfer it here. I just like to respond to comments.

Real Obito: Thanks I plan to stick to I and me. That other shit is way too hard to start. I'm already used to talking in fist person when it comes to Jay. The Buggy switch is a bit off but his character is a bit confusing, good but also bad.

Gamelover41592: Thanks, I ain't gonna lie I had to look up what a script flip is.

Vincent1875: I have made some adjustments, your opinion was valid.

Final thoughts If you like the story so far, follow or favorite whichever one gives you the notifications. There are likely to be a lot of questions so feel free to ask. The Willy pirates are a crew of non-canon fishmen that I put together. Feel free to look them up by name.
