"We're getting a new ship!" Luffy yelled.
Nami was confused. "But this one is fine, all we have to do is change the Jolly Roger."
"No!" Luffy said again.
"I agree." Saphir added. "It reminds me too much of that annoying Orca. We need something new."
Nami didn't understand. "Why do we need a new ship?" She asked Luffy again, this one could get them through the grandline well enough.
"My seat!" Luffy pointed towards the figurehead which was nothing but a massive drill. "I need a new seat! Sitting on that drill is uncomfortable, besides we might sink if a hard enough storm hits."
Nami was surprised, he actually made sense. That giant drill likely unbalanced the ship. It seems they really would need a new ship. "Alright, we'll try to get a new ship as soon as possible. It'll be a lot of work to move my tangerines again but oh well. Captain's orders."
"Fucking finally!" I shouted as I jumped up to the ship.
"I'm assuming you finally did it?" Zoro asked me.
I smiled. "Yep, I finally lowered my cooldown on this skill of mine. It took me way too long to figure out how to level it up. It'll be more useful from now on, 9 seconds instead of 10 seconds is much better."
Over the last couple days they had gotten used to the way I speaked, I just told them it had something to do with my devil fruit. I took another look at my beautiful and finally useful skill.
Blink Lv. 10(Every 9 seconds you can blink anywhere within 10 feet around you)
"Hey." Saphir tapped me on the shoulder. "Could you teach me to walk on water? It's a technique ight? It'll allow us to have some pretty good training."
'Asobu, is it something I could teach?' I asked mentally.
"Yea, it follows the same reasoning behind how you taught it in the story you used to write." She told me. "It's all based on willing it to happen, with her fishman genetics it should be easier for her to learn."
I nodded at Saphir. "I'll try, though I don't know if I'll be a good teacher."
"Great!" Saphir beamed as she jumped off the ship and dived into the water before surfacing and waiting for me.
I jumped into the water after her, though I remained on the surface. For the next day I taught her earnestly, explaining the feeling and how I assumed it worked. By the time we were done, she was finally able to stand on top of the water. She smiled. "I did it! I'm standing on top of the water." In her excitement she lost her footing and fell back into the water though it didn't damper her mood. "I'm so close." She said optimistically.
"Hey there's an island up ahead!" Luffy yelled in excitement.
Nami checked her map. "It's syrup village, we're finally here."
Not long after we made it to the shore we docked the ship and got off. "This seems like a peaceful island." Nami commented.
"Who are you guys?!" A voice spat. "What are you doing in my village?" As we turned towards the voice, we saw Luffy being held at gunpoint.
"Let me rephrase that." Nami said. "It seemed like a peaceful island."
Luffy glared at the teenage boy. "You're risking your life." He stated.
"Huh, what are you talking about?" The boy asked.
"Now that you've drawn your pistol, put your life on the line." He told him.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Those aren't toys, they aren't meant to threaten people." Luffy muttered.
The boy nodded. "I'm aware of that." The boy fired causing Luffy to drop to the floor.
I sighed. 'He's so dramatic.'
Zoro and the others however thought he was dead, they didn't know if he could take bullets or not. Zoro drew his blades and slashed out, Saphir followed suit. Kicking up dust. In an instant, the world seemed to go silent. Lying in wait for what would happen next. As the dust settled I stood there holding on to their blades.
'47 damage taken.'
'Damn that hurt, hopefully I looked bad ass in the process.' I thought. "Luffy get up, you almost got this guy killed."
Luffy bounced to his feet with a smile on his face. "Sorry about that." He laughed.
"What the hell Luffy?!" Nami shouted as she hit him across the head. "I thought you died."
"He's rubber, remember." I reminded her.
"Yea and what are you?" Zoro asked.
I turned to him. "Huh? What are you talking about?"
"You caught our blades in your hand, I felt my blade tear through flesh but somehow you're not bleeding. Explain that to me." Zoro clarified.
I looked down at my hands and realized what happened. 'Oh shit, I don't bleed? Gamers body is nice, would poison work?' I asked myself.
"Yes you can still be poisoned, physical attacks only have a set damage amount but elemental attacks will have all their normal effects." Asobu told me.
"Would it clarify things if I told you it was due to my devil fruit?" I asked Zoro.
"Bullshit! Give me a name for your devil fruit and maybe I'll let it pass." He answered.
"Hey! Don't ignore me!" The boy yelled. "What are you doing on this island?!"
I breathed a sigh of relief. 'Good save Usopp.'
Luffy smiled brightly. "We're here for food and hopefully a better ship!" Luffy answered. "We're on our way to the grand line!"
Usopp calmed down. "You might want to leave this island, it's being run by pirates now. It isn't safe for you to be here." He warned.
"He has a really long nose, is he really human?" Saphir asked Nami.
"Hey!" Usopp shouted. "I heard that, my nose is normal! There's a lot of people with noses like mine."
Saphir spoke innocently. "Really?"
"Could you take us someplace else?" I asked Usopp. "Tell me what happened, how was this place taken over by pirates?"
Usopp nodded. "Follow me."
Somewhere in the forest of syrup village.
"What happened to the village?" Nami asked.
"The people are safe but they're being manipulated without even knowing it." Usopp told her.
"At least the people are safe." Nami said with a slight edge to her tone. She still hadn't gotten over the fact that her village wasn't attacked once, but twice.
"Up on the hill is a huge mansion. One day the owners died leaving behind their only daughter. She was always depressed, causing her to be sickly and weak. Kuro her attendant, had come here looking for a way to get rid of his old life as a pirate. He stayed here for three long years before coming up with a plan to kill the girl." Usopp explained.
"I gotta say, my man has some patience." I added. "I definitely wouldn't be able to wait that long, I would've ended it quickly."
The look I got from half of the crew was enough for me to notice I spoke out of turn.
"One day he ordered his crew to attack the village and kill the sickly girl in the process. I however went to fight back, I was able to take most of them on even knocking two of their top fighters unconscious. Unfortunately I was stopped by Kuro who had beaten me with ease, he had speed that was completely unimaginable. I was captured and locked in a cell." Usopp began to tear up. "The next day he brought me to the beach, where I got to see her one more time. Kaya, the girl I realized I loved. She found out about Kuro's plan and was planning on killing him herself. She held a gun to his head but she was too kind to pull the trigger. Kuro stabbed her with his cat claws and threw her into the ocean. I ran, I ran away and hid in this forest until the next day when I ventured out again."
"What happened then?" Luffy asked.
"I went to the beach where she died, I had hoped to find her body. I swam out into the ocean and dove down, though I couldn't find her. I assumed she floated off somewhere. The only thing I found of her was her gun. That was the day when I realized I had been too soft, I used a slingshot because I didn't want to kill. I know better now, if I want to be a pirate she can be proud of then I must do it in her honor." Usopp bowed in front of Luffy. "Help me save my village from the danger they don't know they're in, afterwards I'll do anything you ask. Both my mother and Kaya loved this village, I can't let it be taken over by crooks you can't even call pirates."
Luffy smiled. "Join my crew, I need a sniper. Also do you know where we can find a ship?"
Usopp began tearing up. "Thank you, I'll join you. Even if I may not be worthy, I'll try my absolute best to be the sniper you deserve. If you're looking for a ship, there's one. The Going Merry, a ship I heard about from Kaya on the day she died. If we can beat Kuro then I'll show you where it's hidden."
I grinned. "Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's head to the village to draw him out."
Syrup village was quiet and peaceful, surrounded by grasslands, dirt trails, hills and a forest. The houses were simplistic, causing the mansion up on the hill to stick out like a sore thumb. We approached a restaurant named Meshi. Usopp was wearing a green hood to hide his face, the villagers and their "guardians" were still after him.
"Welcome, what can I get for you today?" The restaurant owner asked before realizing she didn't recognize any of us. "More visitors? I should've prepared for this." The woman began frantically running around the restaurant before leading us to our seats.
The restaurant was filled with rowdy men, going on about how they'd never let anyone attack the village. "Hey owner, what's with them?" I asked the woman.
The woman sighed. "They're the village guards, they make sure that disappointment Usopp doesn't return to kill more of us."
"I get the feeling you don't really like them." Nami added.
"They just lay around eating up all the food, they don't even patrol the island in search of that deviant." She brought plates of delicious food to our table.
"I have one question? How could one boy infiltrate a mansion and kill its mistress and yet not the butler?" I asked. "The butler somehow had comrades ready to protect the town but didn't call them sooner. He's suspicious and yet you all don't see it."
"Are you suggesting that he's responsible?!" She shouted, drawing attention to our table.
The "village guards" surrounded our table slamming their hands down. "Who do you think you are, kid?!" One of them asked.
"Names Jay, my mother comes from this village. I just don't know how to feel about their being unnecessary guards trying to take it over." I lied.
One of the men raised his hand before slamming it down harder, breaking the table. "You think we're unnecessary, could you handle an armed assassin. A kid like you needs to learn his place."
"A kid like me huh?" A ball of ice formed in my hand. "Well this kid is here looking for a fight, if you got it in you, old man."
The man tried to attack but was hit by the snowball and instantly knocked unconscious, I spun around kicking the 4 others, defeating them just as quickly.
[Black cat pirate x5 defeated! Gained 35 exp.]
I smiled at the owner of the restaurant. "I'm here to save you ignorant civilians, these people are pirates. They aren't guardians sent to protect this city, the one that killed that rich girl on the hill was also the only one to benefit from the situation." The woman ran back behind the counter, touching something beneath it. A sound rang out alerting everyone in the town to what was going on. 'If we wanna draw out the final boss, we're gonna need to handle a couple of goons.' I realized.
Zoro grinned. "You don't have to say another word."
"But I wanted to keep eating meat!" Luffy whined.
"Yay!" Saphir cheered. "Another fight!" She ran out of the restaurant with her spear at her side. A moment later she walked back into the restaurant and collapsed onto the floor. "I took out two of them!" She announced happily. "They're really strong."
I laughed. "You definitely need more training, you can't be battle hungry and weak. It's not a good combination."
Saphir denied it immediately. "Hey! I'm not weak!"
"Right." Zoro smirked. "Let's go, we gotta avenge our fallen crewmate."
"Hey I'm not dead!" She yelled.
"It's always sad to see someone die so young, I won't stand for this injustice." I laughed again as we left the restaurant.
"I'm not dead!" We heard as the door shut behind us.
Once outside we noticed the restaurant had been surrounded by grunts, the only reason they hadn't gone inside is because there wouldn't be enough space to fight. "Who the hell are you guys?!" The apparent leader of the group asked.
A gunshot was heard as the man fell to the floor with a bullet in his head. Usopp removed his hood and glared at them. "You'll pay for what your captain did to Kaya."
The group was reasonably shaken, using that as an opportunity we blitzed the group and began taking them out one by one.
'10x grunts defeated, 70 exp obtained. Exp to next level: 91'
The screams of the defeated enemies was enough to draw out Jango who walked through the crowd and stood in front of us. "You're making a mistake attacking us."
I began shaking from the excitement. "A mistake? You don't seem all that powerful."
"Buchi! Sham!" Jango yelled. From out of the sky, two men appeared. "We don't have the time to hold back."
Jango began his hypnotism as the two men went from a level of 15 to a level of 25. 'An ability to forcibly raise someone's level? That's crazy!'
"All transformations work the same." Asobu informed me.
I looked back towards the crew. "You guys take out the rest of the grunts, I want to fight these two personally."
"I'm sorry to be rude Jay." Nami started. "But I think they're a bit too strong for you."
"She's got a point Jay." Zoro added.
"Oh shut up!" I told them. "That's what's so fun about it, fighting people I couldn't possibly take on normally. That's the only way I'll ever get stronger."

Buchi and Sham blitzed forward. It took everything I had to stay out of the way of their claws. Buchi jumped up slashing down as I dodged to the right, Sham appeared behind me nearly hitting me as I jumped up. Buchi came back in with a claw but I parried it and countered with a kick.
'14 damage dealt.'
As Buchi was sent flying I was attacked from behind by Sham who scratched my cheek as I weaved the attack.
'5 damage taken.'
Sham pushed forward using his other hand to try and get an attack off as I dropped to the floor and swept his legs positioning him in front of the rampaging Buchi who accidentally stabbed his own partner.
'Critical hit! Sham has taken 30 damage. Bleed has been applied. Target will lose 2.5% Hp every second for 10 seconds.'
Buchi roared, throwing Sham to the side and slamming into the ground causing the earth to be upturned and throwing me off balance. He proceeded to kick me at full force.
'Critical hit! You have taken 15 damage!'
And send me flying into the restaurant building.
'You have taken 10 damage.'
Sham recovered as the two pounced at me. I hastily made a ball of ice and threw it in between the two watching it explode and hit the both of them.
[Snowball cooldown: 0.5 seconds.]
'Sham has taken 10 damage. Remaining health: 110/200'
'Buchi has taken 10 damage. Remaining health: 176/200'
[The skill Leech has leveled up!]
'Great, still not that helpful.' I thought as the two combatants wiped away the snow. "Blink!" As I teleported forward I jumped up, sweeping my legs, kicking both of them in the chest and causing them to stagger.
'Sham has taken 14 damage.'
'Buchi has taken 14 damage.'
[Blink cooldown: 9 seconds…]
I fell to the floor and jumped back as they slashed out in tandem. I retreated into the restaurant as the two crashed in after me. Saphir, who had just regained her energy, jumped back.
"Woah!" She shouted. "These guys are strong."
"Stay back! Let me handle this!" I told her.
"Oh! It's a fight to the death." She realized. "Go Jay! Go!" She cheered.
Her bright personality made me smile. She was a good addition to the crew, despite being kind of random.
The two pirates began rampaging around the store in their attempt to catch me. Buchi went in for a slash, I used blink to end up behind him as he cut through the building. While he was distracted I smacked him over the head with a chair.
'Critical hit! Buchi has taken 28 damage!'
Sham dropped on me from above, narrowly missing as I dodged back before jumping up to dodge the slash from Buchi. 'Damn, their teamwork is hella good.'
Sham mid slash dug his claws into the floor before kicking me in my chin. While I was reeling from the hit I felt claws pierce my abdomen, courtesy of Buchi.
'Critical x2! 30 damage taken!'
I shook my head to refocus on the battle as I grabbed Buchi's hand and formed a ball of ice in my own. "Snowball!" I smirked. As his arm froze over I broke the ice causing his arm to snap.
'Critical hit! Buchi has taken 40 damage!'
"RAAHHHHHH!" Buchi roared, holding his broken arm.
Sham pounced but I spun around the attack and landed a roundhouse kick on his chin before sweeping his legs and landing another powerful blow to his chest.
'Combo x3! Sham has taken 90 damage! Remaining health: 6/200'
'Sham has been defeated! Gained 163 Exp!'
[You have reached level 21! Exp to next level: 181]
Buchi dashed at me with his useless arm dangling on the side. I drew him back out of the restaurant while Saphir was cheering in the background. Once outside I noticed the unconscious group of pirates as Luffy knocked out the final one.
Buchi, now out of the restaurant leaped into the air and crashed down rupturing the ground once again. I landed a kick on his head before jumping back and throwing a snowball. As he wiped it from his face I blinked behind him and sent out a kick to his temple.
'Buchi has been defeated! Gained 163 Exp!'

"We won!" Nami cheered.
Jango took a step back. "We lost? This isn't good." With a flash of wind there was a pair of claws around Jango's neck.
"You failed." A voice growled out. "My peaceful life has been compromised with my appearance here, no matter, I'll just kill everyone."
The villagers looked at Kuro and finally realized the truth. Those cat gloves, they had seen them before. "The man of a thousand plans, black cat Kuro." One of them said in shock.
"This was just another one of his plans?" Said another.
"But I thought he died." Said the first.
"He really is a great strategist. He even faked his own death." The second was almost in awe, but he was trembling in fear.
"Jango, seeing that all my men have been defeated. It seems to me that they are quite powerful, I won't be able to defeat them alone. I'll allow it just once, I'll allow you to hypnotize me so we can win." Kuro told him.
Jango stared at him in shock. "But you said you didn't want to be a mindless brute, that's what's gonna happen." He told him.
"I'm smart, maybe I can be the one to gain power without the consequences." Kuro nodded. "Go ahead."
"One… two… Jango!" He chorused as Kuro's body bulked up and his eyes went blank.

Kuro grinned. "This power! I love it! You finally did something right Jango!"
"I really don't think we can win this." I distributed 2 stats into strength and 1 into Vitality. Bringing them to 24 and 19 respectively. I added the final stat into endurance just for a minuscule boost in defense.
"Die!" Kuro growled as he disappeared from sight. Luffy quickly tracking the man stretched out his arms, grabbing hold of Kuro's and pulling himself in.
"It started." Usopp commented as he drew his revolver.

'I need this.' I thought as I rushed forward to help Luffy.
"Gum Gum Sta-" Kuro quickly twisted his arms redirecting Luffy and sending him flying.
I went to sweep his legs but he jumped up over the low attack. "Onigiri!" Zoro shouted as he slashed out with his three blades while Kuro remained in mid air.
Kuro's feet hit the floor and in an instant he vanished appearing on top of Zoro's outstretched blade. "You kids could never beat me!" He growled.
"Come here." I called as I blinked forward and tried to catch Kuro with a high kick. Kuro ducked under the attack quickly before spinning and kicking me across the face.
'You have taken 16 damage!'
I flew across the clearing but I got up quickly with a slight smile on my face. "I am so fucking happy he's not as strong as he is fast."
"Gum Gum bazooka!" Luffy shouted as his two arms stretched forward.
Kuro laughed before he dodged to the side but this time he was cut by Zoro.
'Kuro has taken 40 damage! Remaining health: 160.'
[Bleed has been activated, Kuro will lose 25% of his health slowly over time.]
Kuro shook off the powerful attack and dug his claws into the ground, he dislodged a piece of the ground before whirling around and throwing it at Zoro who slashed through it immediately.
Luffy managed to grab hold of the man as I blinked in, and jumped into the air. "Frost rupture!" I yelled as the attack directly hit Kuro.
'Kuro has taken 16 damage!'
Kuro's speed was cut in half and with that opportunity a shot rang out through the clearing.

I distributed my stats and fell to the floor now that the battle was over.
The next day.
"Well we had our meal, we should get going." Zoro said.
"You're right. We gotta wait on Usopp though, I wonder where he's at." Nami added.
"I'll go look for him!" Saphir offered as she got up on her way out the door when Usopp walked in.
"There you guys are." Usopp smiled, which nowadays was quite rare for him.
"What's good Usopp?" I greeted.
"Hey Jay." He waved. "Anyways I found Kaya's ship, you guys need one right?"
"A ship! You're really gonna give it to us?!" Luffy asked excitedly.
Saphir jumped up and down. "Yay!"
Later at the shore.
"Woah a ship!" Luffy cheered. Right as he was about to use a gum gum rocket to get on he was grabbed by the shirt. "Hey! What'd you do that for!" He yelled at Nami who stood there smiling.
"Not so fast Luffy, we gotta listen to their explanation first. Though I gotta admit it's a nice Caravel."
Saphir was cheering, inspecting the ship from the water. "Is it really okay that we take this, it was Kaya's ship right?"
Usopp insisted that she would be happy to give it away. "It's better than collecting dust." He had said.
As he and Nami went over the instructions the rest of us started moving everything from the Web Panic. I was doing most of the work, putting things in my inventory before transferring it to the merry. When everything was done I put the ship itself into my inventory, planning on moving it into my dungeon at a later date.
They all boarded the going merry and set out. While Saphir and I continued to train her water walking ability.
"Hey Nami!" Luffy shouted. "Can you cook us some food!"
"I don't cook, I navigate!" She shouted back.
Saphir, who was taking a break from training, spoke up. "If you guys are looking for a cook, I know a place with battle chefs. It's a sea restaurant and some of the people that work there are really good fighters."
"Really?!" Luffy shouted with stars in his eyes. "Let's go!" He ordered as Nami changed directions based on Saphir's guidance.
While on the way to the Baratie, Usopp had been forced to paint us a Jolly Roger. After some time we finally made it.
"I did it!" Saphir cheered, finally able to walk on water without much effort.
"Good! Now you just need to learn to treat it like the ground! To the point where you can run and fall or even fight on the surface of the water!"
"Right, Sensei Jay!" She nodded in a determined fashion.
"Please don't call me that." We made our way into the restaurant and took our seats.
"Oh my GOD!!!!!" A shout came from across the restaurant as one of the chefs spun over to our table and knelt down to kiss Saphir's hand.
"Um hello." She greeted him politely.
"A mermaid! It's a real mermaid!" Sanji yelled as his nose began shooting fountains of blood. He fell to the floor barely conscious as he slowly stood up.
"I'm a fishwoman." Saphir corrected. "It's nice to meet you, can you fight? I need a cook to join our crew." She smiled brightly.
Sanji was stunned, this was the first girl to not immediately reject his advances. "I'm an excellent fighter, though I don't think I'll be able to join your crew. I'm needed here."
"Ah, that's too bad." Saphir pouted. "You seem like a funny guy." She stood up from the table and walked across the restaurant and began to naively ask every cook she could find to join the crew.
Sanji turned to Nami with hearts in his eyes. "What can I get for you, mademoiselle?"
Nami smiled darkly as her face contorted to one of fake uneasiness. "Well I'd love to order some food but it's just all so expensive. What should I do?"
Sanji bowed to kiss her hand. "I could never allow a lady such as yourself to pay for a meal. It'll be on me."
"That's great!" Luffy cheered.
"You shitheads still have to pay, I'm only paying for the ladies." Sanji told us.
Zoro groaned. "I can already tell that I'm not gonna like him. He's exactly the kind of person Kuina hates."
"Huh?" I asked.
"It's nothing." Zoro replied as he began looking at the menu.
As we all began to eat, a commotion began occurring in the kitchen. "Sanji you're fired! You allowed customers to eat for free despite the fact they had money." Zeff told him. "The only time food is free is if the person asking is clearly starving. You have been here for quite some time and you never stopped doing it. Anytime a girl asks for anything you immediately bend over backwards to do it. Leave the restaurant for a while, you can have your place back when you've gained some more experience. While you're out there, see if you can accomplish our dream."
Sanji turned away with a glum expression as Zeff gave a thumbs up to Saphir. Saphir ran over to him and grabbed his hands in hers. "You can come with us! It'll be fun, it seems like his decision was final. Come on." She pulled him to our table before gesturing for all of us to return to the Going Merry.
"I guess I have no choice." Sanji sighed as he stood up and looked out over the restaurant. "Old man! Thanks for everything!"
That's when everything descended into chaos as a massive man fell from the sky and landed on the baratie causing it to sink and be crushed under his boots. "Strawhat!" He yelled. "I know you're here!"

If you like the story so far, follow or favorite whichever one gives you the notifications. There are likely to be a lot of questions so feel free to ask. We're moving straight to Loguetown, Krieg was killed by Mihawk. Ghin was sentenced to execution, there's no confrontation at the Baratie without Luffy showing up along with Fullbody.
