After finding another Gear Takumi and Sonic activated the Gate. "Okay, here goes." Takumi said.

"Good luck you guys!" Tails waved. Sonic, Takumi and Hagurumon entered Cyber Space.

Takumi and Hagurumon stood before a Clockmon in a strange network. "Wow! Straight too it, is see." Hagurumon said.

Takumi looked around and recognized the area. "Hey, I know this place…" he looked at the target. "This is the Baku!"

"Ah yes, that boy's program. Well then, we know what to do."

"Don't try to block his Chrono Breaker or it'll stop your time."

"I remember."

The Clockmon pounced and swung his hammer. Haguramon moved aside. "Focus on dodging attacks!" Takumi said. "Then aim for the legs!"

"Understood!" Hagurumon dodged another hammer swing. Then another, and another. Hagurumon carefully calculated the speed of the swings and the time gap between them. After one more swing, Hagurumon identified his opening and attacked. "Cog Crusher!" He sent his gears at the legs tripping the Clockmon.

"Good! Now see if you can disarm it!"

"Right!" Hagurumon shot his gears again and knocked the hammer out of its hands.

"Perfect! Now hit him with all you got!"

"I will! Haguru Attack! Cog Crusher! Machine Attack! Cog Crusher!" Hagurumon attacked repeatedly damaging the Clockmon and pushing it back. "Crash Device!" He electrified himself and rammed the enemy. It toppled over and it vanished leaving a few Digi-Orbs behind. "Jackpot!"

"Nice job!" Takumi held up his hand and Hagurumon gave him a high-five with his gear-shaped one. Once Takumi gathered the spoils, he and Hagurumon took their leave through the portal.

Sonic swung across three horizontal bars ascending to the least Red Start rings and a loop shot him into the portal.

The visions showed Takumi meeting the occult club. And how that rather frightening case played out. Then it showed how Manaka was involved in the case involving the Baku…But then…

Keisuke was at the hospital in front of a vending machine. When he realized someone was waiting behind him, he pressed a button without looking.

"…You like that one?"

"Uh…"

"Me too, actually." The girl was none other than Yuuko Kamishiro.

"…At least that's what I think." Tails said looking at the Gate.

"I believe you might be onto something." Yuuko replied. They then noticed Sonic, Takumi and Hagurumon reappearing in front of the Gate. "Takumi!"

As Sonic collected his keys, Takumi turned to them. "Hey guys. Did you find anything out?"

"I think we might have." Tails replied. "We analyzed the Cyber Space portal while you two were accessing it."

"The moment you entered Cyber Space it opened up a flood of data." Yuuko said. "It was far too much for us to process it all, but we did manage to get a glimpse of the Ancient's personal data."

"Interesting…" Takumi smiled.

"Oh, so… what? You know all their birthdays now?" Sonic asked.

"Much more than that." Tails replied. "Sonic – it was their very essence! Their hopes, their dreams, everything that made them what they were."

"There's more." Yuuko said. "It seems like they had a means of accessing all of this directly from their minds and putting it into Cyber Space. Linking their consciousness and memories to it. Takumi, do you see the correlation?"

"It sounds a lot like EDEN!" Takumi replied

Yuuko smiled. "Exactly. Only this is far more advance despite being so much older. I wish I could show Yuugo and my dad all of this!"

"Amazing…" Takumi breathed looking back at the Gate.

Sonic turned to Tails. "It sounds like what happened to you, Amy, Knuckles and Takumi's friends. I'm glad you're all intact, but why were you all uploaded like that?"

"Takumi…" Everyone looked at Hagurumon who was now shaking.

"Hey, what's wrong with your Digimon Takumi?" Tails asked.

Takumi looked at his Digivice's menu and saw the Digi-Orbs. "Alright! Time to Digivolve, Hagurumon!"

The orbs spun around Hagurumon. "Hagurumon Digivolve too…" Hagurumon floated high off the ground as his body and hand gears started spinning rapidly. Then bronze metal materialized around him. First arms, then legs, and then metal plated emerged around him that had a valve on the front and a helmet. Eyes appeared from it and on the back thrusters gave him flight. He flew a loop then slammed to the ground. "Guardromon!"

"Yes!" Takumi smiled.

"Wow. Sturdy looking fella." Sonic grinned tapping his hand against Guardromon's body.

"Amazing!" Tails circled around him. "I've never seen armor like that before!"

"This form is built for the purpose of defending." Guardromon replied. "With this armor I can withstand attacks from Digimon levels higher than my own."

"So, cool!"

Takumi laughed. "Tails sure is intrigued by machines easily."

"Well, like I said, he's a genius mechanic." Sonic replied. "He lives for this kind of stuff."

Yuuko giggled before speaking up. "Tails certainly possesses a gifted mind for someone so young. While we were trapped, I gave him an IQ test on my Digivice to pass the time. He has an IQ of 300."

Takumi looked at her in utter shock. "Three…hundred…?! That's even higher than the likes of Johann Goethe and Leonardo Do Vinci!"

"I'm…surprised you know who those two are."

"Ah, well, Takumi has been doing his best with his studies while working as a detective." Guardromon replied.

"Yeah. I remember you helped me a lot with that before." Takumi said.

"Heh. Maybe you oughta give this guy an IQ test Yuuko." Sonic smirked.

"Once this is over that is certainly on my to do list. I'm rather curious now." Yuuko admitted. "Oh, and there's another thing that Tails found out. He thinks he knows why we see Takumi's memories whenever he comes in and out of Cyber Space through these devices."

"Really?" Takumi asked turning to Tails.

"It's just a theory, mind you." Tails said. "But I suspect that it has to do with the fact that they were designed to pull information directly from the mind. Like you and Yuuko said, it's similar to how EDEN turns the mind's consciousness and memories into data before uploading it onto EDEN's servers. I think all your experience with EDEN has made it easier for Cyber Space to peer into your mind and create data out of it. Maybe a bit too easy compared to what it's used to. I think it can't control how fast your Mental Data is being uploaded, leading to these bursts of memories being seen."

"That…does make sense…It would explain how we're seeing not just my memories but Yuuko, Arata, and Nokia's. Yet none of yours, Sonic Amy, or Knuckles'."

"My memories are appearing too?" Yuuko asked.

"Right, it's not just Takumi's memories that get shown off by this thing." Sonic replied. "It showed Nokia's Arata's and now yours too."

"Oh, right. That part where I meet Keisuke at the vending machine. Takumi wasn't there, so it had to have been mine. I guess it's because I'm part of Cyber Space right now…or at least was before you freed me and Tails."

"Still…" Takumi murmured. "You too…"

Yuuko looked at him. "Huh?"

"You also know Keisuke Amasawa."

"You know him too Takumi?"

"Sort of. We go to the same school. But until I started seeing him in these visions, I had no idea he was so deeply involved with everything. Nokia and Arata had their share of encounters with him too."

"Really?"

"I beat he had his own stories back in your world during the incident." Sonic said.

"True…" Takumi replied. "Sadly, we might never know now. He would have forgotten them… just like everyone else."

Everyone went quiet. "It is rather sad." Yuuko admitted. "He was a gifted Digimon tamer and hacker with a good soul."

"Arata and Nokia said the same thing. I wish I could have met that version of Keisuke myself."

"I wish you could too. I have no doubt you two would get along." Yuuko then caught a glimpse of something. "Hmm? What's that?" Everyone looked in the direction she was looking. A blue light was shining into the sky.

"One of the Chaos Emeralds is ready." Sonic said. "Let's go grab it."

Takumi used his goggles to get a better view of the terrain ahead. "Looks like it's isolated on a small island."

"Not to worry." Gurardromon said stepping forward. "I can fly us there."

"Sounds cool." Sonic jumped into the Digimon and Takumi climbed into its back. "Your family seriously rocks Takumi!"

"I agree." the teenager smiled before Guardromon ascended with his thrusters and flew off.

Tails looked at Yuuko. "Family"?"

"Takumi and his Digimon share a special bond. Like a family. I was there when Takumi first met his Digimon. Even then they were unique."

"That sounds nice."

Yuuko looked down. "Back then I viewed him as a hatchling who was just learning about Digimon. And before I knew it, he surpassed me in every way… I would be nothing right now without him. It's just like he said back when we were trapped..."

Tails looked at her. "Hey, don't let what that guy said get to you!"

Yuuko shook her head. "Sorry, this isn't the time for this. Let's go after them."

"Right."

The girl stood in front of the masked man who was typing into a blue screen in front of him. Her hand glowed red towards a Titan. "Alright, I'm linked up." the man said.

"The Titan not completely operational. But I restored its functions while keeping its programing suppressed. By my calculations this should allow you to control it. Try moving the Titan."

"Okay." The masked man raised a hand. The Titan slowly moved its hand up mirroring him. "Oh man, this is awesome!" the man laughed lowering his arm. The Titan did the same.

"There is delay between your movements and the Titan's." the girl noted. "But it seems you have a degree of control over it. This is a preferable option as I can only prompt them to act. With your experience against Digimon you are a more reliable combatant against the Cyber Sleuth and his Digimon."

"I just hope this will be enough. Right now, it would help if I could take this thing on a test drive."

"A field test…yes. That would provide reliable data." The girl looked towards the blue light. "Then let us conduct a test now."

Guardromon landed on a small island where Takumi and Sonic completed a puzzle before Tails and Yuuko could catch up to them. Then they went for the shrine holding the Chaos Emerald. "There it is." Sonic said walking up and holding up some keys.

"So, this is a Chaos Emerald." Guardromon said. "Fascinating."

"Um, guys?" Yuuko said. "That "Emerald" looks more-

"Like a diamond, I know." Sonic rolled his eyes. The barrier around the Emerald disappeared and it went straight to his hand. "Alright, that's one."

"There are seven in total, yes?" Guardromon asked. "We can't get too comfortable."

"True." Takumi replied. "That girl and the masked man are still out there. We already defeated two Titans, they'll be planning a counterattack right now."

"What are these Titans like?" Yuuko asked as they all walked away.

And then out of the blue said Titan appeared in the sky behind them. They all turned around to look at it as it flew above them. This one had four legs, a horn, and a shield with multiple bladed spikes on the right arm. "That." Sonic replied.

"Its…ginormous!" Guardromon gasped. "Even more so than I predicted!"

"No way…" Tails murmured.

"Sonic?" Takumi looked at the hedgehog. "If the Titan showed up in front of us…"

"Those two can't be far." Sonic replied.

The masked man teleported in front of the shrine. "There you are." Takumi said.

The man opened a monitor displaying an image of the Titan before him. He pressed. "I can't let you go any further, Takumi Aiba. This is for your own good!" The man slowly raised his right hand and swung his arm outstretched it to the right. The Titan mirrored his movements.

Takumi looked at them. "Is he…?"

The floating girl appeared to Sonic's left. "Well? What will you do?"

Sonic gritted his teeth looking back at the Titan. As the masked man clenched his extended fist the Titan's shield started to spin while the spiked heated up glowing orange. Sonic then spotted a Squid and grinned. "The best I can. Takumi, Guardromon! This way!"

"Right!" Takumi jumped onto Guardromon as he flew after Sonic.

The masked man got into a throwing position and swung his arm. "Rah!" The Titan threw its shield and it spun towards the heroes.

"Sonic, be careful!" Tails shouted.

"You too Takumi!" Yuuko added.

As the Squid took off it created a purple path for Sonic to run on. The masked man held his palm forward and the shield moved ahead to the side of the path and then he swung his arm making it zoom towards Sonic who boosted to evade the buzzsaw as it cut through the path behind him. He growled before switching his monitor to show a rearview of the Squid Sonic and Guardromon were following. The Squid turned making the path curve before firing red orbs behind it towards Sonic. "Sonic, get behind us!" Takumi said. The hedgehog slowed down for Guardromon to cut ahead and block the orbs with his arms. He continued to tank the hits as the should caught up and was right behind them splitting the path down the middle. Gaps started to form in the path ahead. Sonic jumped across them and Guardromon flew over them keeping his arms crossed to block the Squid's attacks. The masked man held his palm out with his fingers pointing forward and the shield flew ahead of them then pulled two fingers towards him and it started coming towards Sonic who jumped and grabbed onto Guardromon's leg. "Go up!" Takumi ordered. Guardromon ascended over the shield. "Sonic, use your Cyloop and get us as close to that robot as you can!"

"Got it!" Sonic jumped down and boosted leaving a trail of light behind him. Guardromon followed behind him letting the light boost him and Takumi. The path curved again, and Sonic jumped over more gaps and attacks that Guardromon tanked as they hit him.

Takumi looked to their right and saw land. "Okay. Guardromon, on my signal, get us to that island on our right."

"Understood."

Sonic and Guardromon was slowly gaining on the Squid. Takumi watched the shield close in behind them. Another gap was left in the road and Sonic leapt into the air. "NOW!"

Guardromon's thrusters roared as he flew up and grabbed Sonic in midair then changed direction and zoomed towards the land narrowly dodging the shield that continued after the Squid as it curved and knocked it out of the sky before it turned and flew back the way it came. After Guardromon landed on the ground and slid on it a bit before he put Sonic down and Takumi climbed off. "Phew. For a second there I was worried that might not work." Takumi smiled.

Sonic wiped his forehead before the girl appeared to their right. "So? Impressive, right?"

"Within expected parameters." the girl coolly replied before vanishing.

Takumi sighed. "Everyone's a critic." Sonic shook his head.

The masked man held his arm forward and the Titan did the same as its shield flew back to its arm. Tails and Yuuko were watching the action from a distance. "That was amazing!" Tails cheered.

The masked man pressed a button, and the Titan went slack. "Impressive…if not expected."

Yuuko looked at him. "You could have just destroyed the robot that was generating the ground Sonic was running on. The shield would have caught up to Guardromon even if he flew."

"This was just a test run. Besides, I have no intention of hurting Takumi. On the contrary, I want to save him."

"Save him from what? You act as if you know him."

"I know him batter after seeing his memories." the man replied. "I made a promise to someone. And to keep it, I need people like him…like Nokia…like Arata…and like you."

"What are you talking about?" Yuuko stepped towards him and then the girl teleported behind the man and put a hand on his shoulder. "Wait!" Before Yuuko could approach, they both vanished, taking the Titan with them.

Tails walked up to her. "Do you think he was telling the truth? Just who is he?"

"I don't know." Yuuko thought to herself. "But somehow…he feels…familiar."

Sonic and Guardromon rushed towards an upgraded version of the Tower Guardian named Excavator. It shot projectiles at them, and Sonic dodged them as Guardromon blocked them. "Tear down the body, then go for the head!" Takumi said.

"On it!" Sonic bounced off the body with a Homing attack then used Cross Slash, circling around it while shooting a stream of shockwaves from his hands, tearing the body down piece by piece.

Guardromon then held his fists forward. "Grenade Destroyer!" Missiles with eyes, arms, sirens and whistles in their mouths came out of the forearms and flew straight for the head knocking it off balance. Sonic then curled into a ball and bounced off it and finished it off with a Spin Slash. As it exploded it left a Gear behind for them to pick up.

"Good work team." Takumi smiled.

"Sonic! Takumi!" Tails waved as he and Yuuko aproached. "Nice job!"

"Thanks." Takumi replied as Sonic and Guardromon returned to them. "

"Still…that masked man in concerning…" Yuuko said.

"I noticed. Did you guys see that? It looked like he was directly controlling the Titan this time."

"Is that not what happened with the other two?"

"No. That girl said she couldn't fully control it, only provoke it into attacking us. If they figured out how to control them completely, we're in a lot of trouble."

Yuuko thought carefully before speaking. "Assuming they really do want to end you."

Sonic squinted. "Well let's see, they attacked us with giant Titans and sent all sorts of robots after us while constantly keeping us in the dark and giving us the cold shoulder. Call it a hunch, but I think it's safe to assume they want to end us."

"Do they? Think Sonic, if they could control the Titan completely what was stopping them form destroying that robot making that path for you and letting you fall to your death?"

"I was wondering that too." Takumi said. "It almost seemed like he was testing us."

"It seemed like that guy was testing his control over the Titan." Tails replied.

"Hmm…"

"He also said he wanted to "save" you Takumi. But we don't know what from."

"This is an odd way of saving someone if you ask me." Guardromon said.

Takumi folded his arms. "I wonder who he really is…"

Elsewhere the masked man and the girl looked at the Titan. "Well…it's not perfect." the man said. "The lag is a bigger issue then I thought it'd be."

"Agreed." the girl said. "If you can sync with the Titan perfectly…"

"I've been wondering…the information we dug up suggested that the Ancient's controlled these things from the inside. Maybe if I can figure out a way in…"

"I will run simulations immediately to find the safest way to do that. Also…I have been considering the Digimon we spotted here. I might be able to control it. Or at least influence its actions. Assuming we can capture it."

The masked man sighed. "That's a tall order. But if I can get this Titan under control…"

Takumi put another Gear into the next Portal. "Okay, let's get it done." He stepped back as it activated.

"See you guys soon!" Tails waved as he and Yuuko watched Takumi, Guardromon and Sonic depart.

Takumi and Guardromon appeared on a floating platform in a green background. "This is Kamishiro's Servers." Guardromon said.

A Falcomon and a Gomamon appeared in front of them. "Marching Fishes!"

"Ninja Blade!" They both shot projectiles, but Guardromon swooped in front of Takumi and blocked them.

"Warning Laser!" Guardromon's eyes glowed red then fired twin lasers int both of the enemies destroying them. A Digi-Orb appeared. "As expected. I am currently far stronger than I ever. Rookie level Digimon have no chance against me now."

"Don't let your guard down." Takumi replied collecting the orb. "We'll have stronger enemies to fight soon. Judging how we started at the beginning of the server…I think we're going to fight Jimmy Ken at the halfway point like before."

"Indeed." Guardromon looked ahead. "Stay close Takumi. I will keep you safe."

"Thanks pal."

Sonic took in his surroundings even though he was running up a crumbling road that collapsed behind him in the sunset of Sky Sanctuary. "This place is making me miss the curry in Shamar. I should go back there someday." He bounced off a spring and to a zipline that carried him to a Red Star Ring and to the goal.

Takumi and Guardromon teleported onto a pad in a blue room. Looking in front of them they saw a familiar man in face paint doing the air guitar. In front of him were two BlueMeramon. "It seems you've called it, Takumi." Guardromon said.

"Yeah." Takumi sighed. "I just can't escape this clown, can I?" The BlueMeramon approached. "Be careful. I know you're stronger now, but they're both a level above you and you're on your own."

"Roger." Guardromon stood ready. One of the BlueMeramon rushed and threw a punch but Guardromon ascended.

"Cold Flame!" BlueMeramon threw a flurry of fiery punches at him, but he got out of the way.

"Take them one at a time!" Takumi said. "Reducing the numbers will make this easier!"

"Grenade Destroyer!" Guardromon fired missiles at one of them. He then landed and charged into it knocking it over.

The other one charged at him. "Frost Knuckle!" He punched Guardromon a good distance. The other one got up and threw another punch knocking him over.

"Okay, this isn't going as well as I hopped… Wait…" Takumi pulled up a menu. "If I have all my previous abilities…and now that I have you…" He pressed an option and he along with Guardromon vanished. The BlueMeramon both paused and looked around. The something hit one of them in the face. It tried to punch back but hit nothing. Then the other one was rammed a good distance. Then one of them was lifted up and thrown into the one on the ground. Then Guardromon reappeared. "Warning Laser!" He blasted the one he was previously beating on and it was destroyed.

"One down!" Takumi cheered. "Now for the other!"

The other BlueMeramon growled as he got up. He ran towards Guardromon who charged and grappled with it for a bit. Then Guardromon flew up carrying it with him then dropped down and slammed him to the ground. He spun the Digimon repeatedly and threw him into a wall. "Grenade Destroyer!" He shot missiles destroying it.

"Nice work!" Takumi fist bumped his Digimon. A Digi-Core and a portal appeared for them.

The visions showed Yuuko back with Takumi and Kyoko back at the agency. "I want you to investigate my father."

After explaining Yuuko's suspicions of her father's death and giving them a lead Kyoko had Takumi gather information. When he returned Matayoshi and Kyoko explained how their info on the Nile Corporation that they suspected was claimed by Kamishiro illegitimacy was taken by Kamishiro. Then Yuuko returned and the developed the idea of Takumi sneaking into Kamishiro's server to take it back. After paying a visit to Mirei Takumi meet Yuuko there.

"What? You're going to strike out on your own? But what's your plan for getting in?" Takumi smiled and activated the Stealth Hide shocking Yuuko. "Wha?! How does a person vanish?! Both the avatar…and the account info!"

Things proceeded as planned. Takumi got the data and was on his way out when he saw Zaxon Hackers coming and vanished with the Stealth Hide again…until an electric sneeze gave him away. But then an unexpected form of backup appeared. Hey you. What are you doing here?"

Takumi gasped as a familiar face stepped in front of him facing the hackers. "Yuugo?!"

The hackers were just as shocked. "Oh snap! Yuugo?!"

"What the heck's Yuugo doing here?!"

"How the heck should I know?!"

"Do you have fake Kamishiro employee IDs or…? No, you were given access privileges, right?"

But before Yuugo could force any answers out of them another unexpected guest entered the room. "Yoohooooo!"

…But it didn't take long for Takumi to beat Jimmy Ken again forcing him to retreat with his followers. "They got away…" Takumi shook his head. "Never mind that, Yuugo, why and how are you here?"

The hacker was quiet before replying. "You should get out of here, fast. I've disabled security in the surrounding area. If you go now, you should be able to get out of here safely."

As Yuugo walked away Takumi called out to him. "Yuugo!" The hacker stopped to look over his shoulder at Takumi who smiled. "Thanks. You saved me again." Yuugo simply smiled back and left. Takumi made his escape and regrouped with Yuuko then Kyoko and gathered their info.

Upon returning, Sonic collected the Vault Keys he earned. Takumi and Guardromon showed up next to him. "So…that was a thing." Sonic said. "So that guy was Yuugo?" Sonic asked. "One of your friends?"

"Well, not exactly." Tails replied. "The real Yuugo Kamishiro was in a coma at the time. The Yuugo we saw was an EDEN Avatar modeled after him."

"An EDEN Avatar?" Sonic asked. "Well, then who was using it to back Takumi up?"

Takumi looked sadly at Tails. "If Yuuko told you that, I'm guessing she told you everything else?"

Tails looked down. "More or less."

"What's this about?" Sonic asked folding his arms.

Takumi noticed Yuuko looking away uncomfortably. "…I'd rather not say. It's not my story to tell."

"Alright. So, where too next?"

Takumi thought a moment. "Once Guardromon Digivolves into Andromon he won't be able to fly anymore. So, we might as well take advantage of that while we have it."

"In that case…" Yuuko said. "I did spot a floating tower that looked intriguing."

"Sounds good to me."

While on the move, the group spotted something. "Hey, check that out." Sonic said. "Looks like another one of those Ancient weapons."

They stopped to take a look at it. Takumi looked around. "I don't see any ammunition stationed nearby."

Tails examined it. "What I wouldn't give to study this ancient technology properly. Hmm. It doesn't look like this was a projectile weapon."

"So, no ancient cannonballs then, huh?" Sonic asked before he thought of something. "Wait, are you saying this is a beam weapon? Like on the Egg Carrier?"

"Egg Carrier?" Yuuko asked.

"Exactly." Tails replied. "From what I can tell it has its own battery, independent of an outside power source. Moreover. It's compacity is ludacris. It could level a mountain. It's almost up there with the Eclipse Cannon!"

"You're losing us here guys." Takumi said.

"The Eclipse Cannon threatened the planet, blew the moon in half, and destroyed the Black Comet in a single shot!" Sonic said. "If this thing is anywhere near as powerful…"

"Hold on a second!" Takumi looked up. "I've seen the moon before here. Looks fine to me."

"Oh, you just can't see the missing half anymore."

Takumi raised an eyebrow. "Okay, HOW?"

"Don't worry about it."

"Anyway, that was plugged into the ARK's reactor." Tails said. "This is free standing! The Ancient's designs are amazing."

"It's frightening that they built these things to shoot at something." Yuuko said.

"On the last island we saw a vision of the Ancient's fighting against something powerful." Takumi said. "Just what was it they were up against that would require that kind of firepower to stop?"

Guardromon landed on a floating platform near the floating tower. As everyone looked around the first thing the spotted was a tall device. "What's this?" Takumi asked. "It looks like a Gate, but I don't see an insert for the gears."

"Interesting…" Tails stepped towards it. "Let me take a look."

Yuuko turned to Takumi. "I can stay with Tails and examine this. Why don't you three investigate the tower?"

"Sounds adequate." Guardromon picked up Sonic and Takumi and flew them to the top of the tower.

Yuuko pulled out her Digivice and a screen appeared. Tails took a look at it. "Hmm…This is interesting. Its systems are different then the gate."

Yuuko looked at him. "Tails…you sure are dependable. Despite what that faker we were trapped with said. I wish I could be more dependable like Takumi and you."

"Yeah, right." Tails murmured. "I'm always just lagging behind Sonic."

"But you can do things he can't. Such as figuring out the secrets of this technology. You provide him so much support with your gifted mind. Me on the other hand…all I've done was throw my burdens on other people. Especially Takumi."

"You're not thinking of what that guy said to you, are you?"

"What he said was true."

"No, it's not!" Tails objected. "We saw that vision, Takumi would have been in a lot of trouble if you didn't help him out in the server!"

"But I'm the reason why he was in it to begin with!"

"Takumi was investigating EDEN Syndrome, right? That would have brought him to investigating Kamishiro at some point. You asking him to investigate the company and your father gave him more access and motivation."

Yuuko sighed. "All the same…I

Yuuko yelped and turned around to see Takumi, Sonic and Guardromon walk up to them. "T-Takumi?! You're back already?"

"Well, his Digimon can fly and I live for speed." Sonic grinned. "Hardly surprising. Anyway, not much in the tower other then a few traps and robots. Got some seeds and even a Gear out of that. Any luck on your end?"

"Hold on…" Tails went over to the screen Yuuko provided and made some inputs. "It looks like this was used for scanning...but not the area around us, but above us…" He put a hand on his chin and thought. "Ah!"

"Did you figure something out?" Guardromon asked.

Tails turned to the group. "I think it's an environmental analyzer. All the Ancient technology is networked to Cyber Space." He started typing again. "If I can get it back online we can maybe get some answers."

After pressing something the ground started to shake and the machine glowed. "Uh, what was that?" Takumi asked. The top generated red light.

"Tails, shut it down!" Yuuko yelled. But before anything could be done a red screen appeared above them emitting a red glow. When they could see Tails and Yuuko were solid again. "What's happening?!"

"It's happening again. We're seeing something from the past." Sonic replied.

Guardromon turned around and gasped. "Look!" The valley before them was loaded with the cannons they saw all pointing up to the sky shrouded with dark clouds. They all emitted blue light and fired piercing through the clouds.

"Tails was right. They're all beam based cannons." Takumi said.

"But what are they shooting at?" Yuuko asked. "I can't see through these clouds?"

Tails looked at the device. "I see. This is how they know where their targets are even with the clouds obscuring their vision." A red glow from above got everyone's attention. "Huh?" One by one red blasts far thicker than the cannon shots rained down destroying the weapons one by one. Together they created a giant inferno that made the group brace themselves as it grew towards them.

Then the vision ended and Tails and Yuuko were returned to a digitized state. They looked up as the machine they were examining shut down. Everyone stayed quit for a bit until Sonic spoke. "So… that was a thing."

Tails nodded. "Whatever assaulted the island sure packed a punch. That was on par with Dark Gia, easily."

"Not even the Royal Knights can match that kind of power." Yuuko replied.

"I feel like we need to find the Emeralds, pronto." Sonic replied.

"Perhaps we should split up for a bit." Yuuko said. "Tails and I might not be able to interact with much, but we can move more freely in this state."

"Arata managed to open a communication line with his Digivice on the last island. I bet you could do the same and let us know if you find something."

"Understood. You, Sonic and Guardromon go on ahead."

Tails nodded. "Agreed. We'll rendezvous later."

Now that we've been introduced to Titan number 3, I'm sure you can tell I've got plans for the upcoming boss. But first we got more islands to cover.
