Author's Note: Well, the results are in, and after I finish going over the events of the movie, I will go over the events of Baymax Returns from the TV series. So here's the next chapter. Hope you like it any and all comments are welcome.
It was blinding when Tony, Hiro, and Baymax first entered the portal, but as soon as the light began to quickly dim, their sights adjusted to the new world they were seeing. It looked like a starry void as if they were in the middle of unknown space. Not too far from where they were flying, there were pieces of debris flying in the air.
"What is this place?" Hiro asked.
"I don't know exactly." Tony said. "But my helmet's telling me this place is completely composed of antimatter. I guess without a second generator to connect to, the portal must have redirected into this unknown universe."
"We need to find Abigail fast before the portal collapses." Hiro said. "But watch out for Krei Tech debris."
Baymax and Hiro flew around the building pieces looking for Abigail. They couldn't afford to slow down, so they had to be careful with what's ahead. They narrowly missed an entire row of windows which Hiro had to run over before jumping back to Baymax.
"I have located the patient." Baymax said looking up at a very familiar pod.
"Perfect." Tony said. "Let's get her out of here so…"
"STARK!"
Tony was both surprised and annoyed hearing the sound of Obadiah Stane's voice calling out to him from the distance. He flew past the Krei Tech debris using his Iron Monger armor to knock them aside. The closer he got, the more Tony could see the angry, unreasonable look in his eyes.
"Man, this guy is relentless." Tony said.
"What do we do?" Hiro asked.
"I'll hold him off. It's me he wants." Tony said.
"But Tony…" Hiro started to say.
"Just go!" Tony insisted before flying toward Stane.
While Hiro and Baymax were pushing Abigail's pod overhead, Tony landed on top of a rooftop piece and waited. Iron Monger landed with both his feet on the same rooftop in front of Tony.
"This has to stop Stane!" Tony cried out.
"It'll stop when I say it'll stop!" Iron Monger yelled.
"For crying out loud, Stane! There's no point!" Tony yelled in annoyance. "The microbots are gone, you lost your chance at being a hero, and there are over a half-dozen witnesses who will link you as the mastermind! You've got nothing left to fight for! But either way, we don't' have time for this! The portal's unstable! If it collapses and we're too late, we'll be stuck in this dimension forever!"
"If it means you're never going home, it's worth it!" Stane growled raising his fists. There was no sign of reasoning in his eyes anymore. "And if I'm going down, I'm taking you with me!"
Stane used the rockets in his feet to fly over to Tony. The kid rolled out of the way just as he punched the building part they stood on. The impact was so strong, the whole thing shattered into different pieces with each armor-wielder on different slabs. Tony took advantage and fired repulsor blasts at Iron Monger. The blasts managed to push him backwards because of the strange laws of physics.
Now that some distance was made, Tony turned to follow Hiro and Baymax. However, just as he fired the rockets in his feet, Iron Monger did the same in his. Iron Monger managed to catch Tony mid-flight and turn him so they would meet face to face. Iron Monger raised his fists and hit Tony three times. After the third punch, Tony's helmet broke apart showing his frightened look.
"It's time to end this!" Iron Monger shouted. However, before he could land the finishing blow, he noticed he was slowing down. Both men looked at Iron Monger's feet to find the thrusters losing their fire.
"What's happening?" Stane asked in anger. He and Tony began to descend slowly to a piece of road.
"Oh, right. The fuel tolerant burnout." Tony said. "Guess you didn't fix that, did you?"
As soon as they landed on the floating road, Stane raised his fist again. "It doesn't matter! I don't need flight to finish you!"
Tony expected the worst until something caught his eye in the distance. He widened his eyes and pointed. "Stane! There's something coming our way! Something bad!"
"What kind of idiot do you take me for?" Stane asked.
"Just look!" Tony said pointing harder.
Stane turned around and his eyes widened with horror. Though they were far away, they were clearly not human, not even close. These dark-green insects swarmed over in their direction. Both Tony and Stane could hear the snarling roars from where they were.
"What are those things?!" Stane asked.
"I don't know!" Tony said. He broke out of Stane's grip and stood back up. "But I doubt they're friendly! Let's get out of here! If you jump, I'm sure you can still make it back to San Fransokyo with the rest of us!"
Tony activated his rockets again and flew to the direction of the portal. However, he didn't make it far. Before he could gain two feet of distance, Iron Monger reached his arms out and grabbed both of Tony's legs.
"Hey! Stane, are you crazy?! You're going to get us killed!"
"No! I'm sacrificing you! You'll slow those monsters down!"
Tony decided to stop reasoning with Stane. He focused more on the portal and fired his rockets with greater force, but Iron Monger kept his grip tighter and his pull stronger. Tony sweated seeing the swarm getting closer. He looked on up to Hiro and Baymax who were still on their way out when an idea hit his head.
"BAYMAX!" Tony shouted before reaching for his thighs. He turned a few outer gears, and all of a sudden, he slipped out of his metal legs.
Stane, who was still pulling at the time with all his might, lost all sense of resistance and lost his footing. He threw himself backwards holding onto the detached legs. He gasped realizing that Tony had thrown himself toward the portal and Baymax was going to save him.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Stane yelled as he flew into the direction of the incoming swarm. He couldn't be heard anymore after enough distance.
After grabbing Tony, Baymax flew on up and returned him to the pod. Hiro waited for him looking at the monster bug swarm from where he was.
"Tony, what are those?" Hiro asked.
"I don't know!" Tony replied climbing onto the pod. "But I don't' want to find out! Let's just get out of here!"
"Right! We're almost there too!" Hiro said. However, irony caught on quickly.
Out of nowhere, a piece of the Krei Tech building flew into their direction. Quickly, Baymax turned himself to take the full force of the blow keeping his patients safe. After the building shattered, Baymax was a few feet away from the boys, his armor mostly gone except for his lower area and one of his gauntlets.
"Baymax!" Hiro cried out.
Baymax regained his senses and flew back to the boys. However, all the thrusters in his feet quickly shorted out. Thankfully, he reached out and caught back up to them, but there was no momentum left to move them any further.
"My thrusters are inoperable." Baymax said.
"This isn't good!" Tony breathed heavily in worry. "Baymax's thrusters are dead, I lost mine, and the portal could collapse any second! If we don't get out of here soon, we'll be bug chow!"
Baymax looked back at the incoming swarm. They were still far, but they were clearly getting closer. He then looked back at Tony and Hiro.
"There is still a way I can get you to safety." Baymax said. He made a fist with his armored hand and gently pressed it against the pod. His gauntlet opened up its rockets which began to warm up.
"You're… You're going to punch us back to San Fransokyo." Tony realized much to Hiro's chagrin.
"What? Wait…" Hiro said.
"I cannot deactivate until you say you are satisfied with your care, Hiro." Baymax said.
"What about you?" Hiro asked.
"You are my patient." Baymax said. "Your health is my only concern. Are you satisfied with your care?"
"No! We'll figure this out!" Hiro shouted.
"Hiro…"
"Don't say another word, Tony! There's got to be another way! I'm not leaving you here with those things, Baymax! We'll think of something!"
"There is no time." Baymax reminded. "Are you satisfied with your care?"
"Please! No!" Hiro pleaded. Tony could feel the sorrow in his tone and sympathized with him. "I can't lose you too!"
"Hiro," Baymax said assuredly, "I will always be with you."
Hiro took a long look at Baymax slowly accepting that he was right. There was no other way and he had no choice. He leaned forward and gave one last hug to his friend. Though he wasn't as close as Hiro, Tony joined in and hugged Baymax. The two of them broke off the hug and Hiro began to tear up.
"I'm satisfied with my care." Hiro said wishing he didn't have to.
With his last bit of life, Baymax activated his rocket first and thrusted the pod into the portal's direction. Tony and Hiro looked back at Baymax as he deactivated while at the same time, the monster swarm caught up to the drifting robot. Thankfully, they failed to get to the portal before the humans did and before it closed.
The pod made it back to Earth just before the portal exploded. At first, the rest of the heroes were happy seeing their friends make it out, but their smiles dropped realizing that Baymax didn't make it out with them. The only thing left from the health robot was the severed hand that made it out with Hiro and Tony.
Thankfully, Abigail Callaghan was still alive. The paramedics arrived and brought her to the hospital van. She slowly woke up finding herself back home. At the same time, Robert Callaghan was escorted to the police cars. Although he was sad to be arrested, he was pleased seeing his daughter alive, so he didn't resist.
As for Tony, Hiro, Gogo, Wasabi, Honey, and Fred, they disappeared before the authorities could find them. They removed their costumes, disappeared to their homes, and gradually awaited for the next day, especially Tony Stark. As soon as he got home, the first thing he did was schedule an emergency meeting at Stark Industries.
