Once again barely posted on time. This chapter is vastly different from the original but I hope it doesn't disappoint.
"So you can manipulate water?" Vivi asked.
"Yea, I'm part mermaid after all. My mother was a human, my father part of the merfolk." She explained.
Vivi hummed. "So that's how that works, you're able to switch between the two. You must be some kind of special variation."
"You're an idiot." I sighed. Karue began quacking at me, clearly angry from the remark. "Rotisserie sounds nice." In an instant he shut up and ran behind Vivi.
"Shut up you overly strong pirate!" Vivi yelled. "I'm not an idiot."
"Putting aside the poor attempt at insulting me, I told you before, and you mentioned it when we first left whiskey. She's like me." I reminded her. "She's not from this world. We just chose this power or more specifically our race."
"Wait, you're not human?"
"I'm a Jokull, a race of demons that control ice. The entire race went extinct centuries ago, or at least that's what I'm told."
"They're all monsters, ever since I met that crew I've been surrounded by them." Vivi whispered.
"The island is in sight, we should depart from here." Arie suggested.
"What? That means we'll have to swim the rest of the way." Vivi complained.
"I agree with Arie, if we dock we'll be found out much faster." I jumped off the ship, landing on the open water placing my hand on the floating vessel. As it disappeared into my inventory I caught Vivi in my hands, Arie dived into the water.
"Wait, what about Karoo?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "He's a duck, he can swim."
"No he can't!" Vivi yelled. "Miss Monday told me he ate a 'strange fruit' that took away his ability to swim. He ate a devil fruit, and we don't even know what it is." She explained.
"Oh, was that the case?" I shrugged. "I'm sure Arie can handle it."
In less than a minute we were all on the island, Karoo gasping for air to refill his lungs. "What kind of duck can't swim?" Arie guided the water out of his lungs before allowing it to splatter on the ground.
Vivi hugged her. "Thank you for saving his life, that kinda nice guy was going to let him drown."
I sighed. "Once again, you need to work on your insulting skills."
Arie released herself from the hug. "We don't know how long we're gonna be staying here so let's split up."
"Alright, us two will go off on our own. Vivi, you and Karue stick together." I ordered.
"Wait, what about a meet up time, or at least-" She stopped as she noticed Arie and I were already gone.
Karoo quacked at her.
"Yes Karue, we'll stick together. We're on our own for now." Vivi comforted him and yet his quacking only got louder when she finally noticed the rumbling. She looked toward the forest seeing a group of velociraptors staring at the two curiously. "Run!" She yelled as she hopped on Karoo's back.
"These damn bugs." I complained as I froze another one that tried to get too close.
'Come to think of it, maybe I should've told Vivi what Karoo's fruit is.' I thought. 'Nah I'll let them figure it out on their own.'
'A wild T-Rex has appeared!'
I sighed. 'Really Asobu, a pokemon reference?'
"Oh come on, you know you needed that." I could tell from the tone of her voice that she was trying to hold in her laughter.
'Fine, just this once Asobu. Next time you do this, it's gonna be a problem.' I warned her.
"What can you even do about it?" She asked rhetorically. "You're on the other side of the universe."
'Universe? That's not too far all things considered, looks like I'll be seeing you someday.' I cut the conversation short deciding that it was a good time to focus on the fact that the T-Rex had been attacking me for the last minute.
"You know in an alternate life, I'd either be running from you or trying to kill you without the use of my devil fruit. That first story really wasn't the greatest, like seriously, penta penta no mi? What was I thinking?" I asked.
The creature roared, chomping down on thin air as I jumped. "Right you probably don't understand what I'm talking about, see back on earth I wrote this one story." I began.
The giant reptile turned trying to slam down on me with its tail, I blinked backward and continued my speech. "It was the original story of a wraith, I thought the first few chapters were horrible so I wanted to rewrite them." I pelted it with snowballs but they didn't do much damage. "However instead of rewriting just the first few chapters I rewrote the entire story, I kinda miss those days."
It dived at me again, trying to devour me in a single bite. I used that moment to jump on top of its head, ice coating my foot as I landed on it with a frost rupture.
'100 damage dealt, applied frost.'
[Frost drive cooldown: 10 seconds…]
I smiled. "Now let me get a look at that status of yours."
[T-Rex, Lv. 30
Hp: 150/450, Strength: 45
A huge bipedal dinosaur with two small arms.
Gets angered when another predator enters its territory, it'll attempt to crush its prey with its tail or tear them to shreds with its teeth.
Although it's a big target, it makes up for that with a strong hide]
The dinosaur began thrashing around, eventually throwing me off its back. It snapped at me again which I misdirected with my chains causing it to bite through a tree instead. I then used the chains to latch onto its head and pull me back into the air. "Sorry big man but I'm done playing with you. Hasshoken!" Its eyes nearly popped out of its head as it fell to the floor unconscious.
'Hasshoken has leveled up!'
'Leech has leveled up!'
Before I could vacate the area a strange purple gas flooded the area. I began staggering around, using blink to try to get clear of the area. In front of me I could see a blurry figure as the world faded to black.
(Arie can not be written on, all the other gamers get one chapter pre time skip, hers hasn't come up yet. Though I'll just say she met one of the giants. She takes the role of Usopp for this island, without the whole inspiration thing.)
The duo crashed through the forest at the speed of sound, Vivi thanking god that Karoo hadn't been clumsy enough to trip over a root or- seems I spoke too soon. "Come on Karoo, get up, they're getting closer." Vivi stood in front of her recovering companion, taking out her peacock slashers in order to protect him as long as she would need to.
The raptors crowded into the clearing collapsing in on Vivi. Her weapon began spinning around her finger rapidly, waiting to slash out. The moment they were within range she attacked.
With the first motion, one of the raptors was cut along its side but the others were already on top of her. Their teeth pressed into her neck when a loud boom erupted in the clearing and suddenly all of the raptors previously on top of her were gone. Her ears were ringing and a burst of wind nearly knocked her into a nearby tree.
She held on to her ringing ears as she stood up and turned back to where she last saw her companion. "Karoo?" He was nowhere to be found, the ground began to shake as a giant shadow cast over her. When she looked up she noticed a sword wielding muscular giant.
Karoo squawked in confusion. He had no idea where he was, before he was in a dense forest with trees and ravenous reptiles surrounding him on all sides, now… now he was in an open clearing, oh and the reptiles were still there. However, even though they were still there they weren't entirely in one piece. One of them had a massive imprint on their side and had been killed from the impact. The others were heavily winded from the first reptile knocking into them.
The remaining raptors growled as they circled him. He looked around, hoping to find a way to escape. They looked tired, he was sure he'd be able to outrun them, all he had to do was find an opening.
He began by mimicking their growling the best he can, trying to sound more confident than he actually was. The raptors dashed in, the world for Karoo seemed to slow. The look on his face made it easy to tell that he was extremely confused. He waddled up to one of them, knocking it over but even the creature's descent was slow. He felt himself slow down but he could still see them coming at him in slow motion.
One lunged at him, he took two steps to the side watching it slowly shoot past him. With two steps back another shot in front of him, one jumped on him head on and he guided it away with his wing. Within moments the reptiles were down and time seemed to speed up.
With his enemies passed out he chose not to worry about it and instead went off to find his friend. Inwardly though, he was still shaking from the encounter.
"So we're chasing after the Princess instead of the captain of the pirate that's helping her?"
"Well of course, he's the one that knows the secret of our mysterious boss." Valentine told him.
"I'm not holding back the explosions this time." Mr 5 responded.
"I'll crush them with everything I got!" Mikita promised as they walked into the candle house.
"Hello, care to join me?" A teen girl asked the two.
"Tea and crackers? We're here to talk business." Mr 5 informed her.
"Colors trap, Calming green." With two swipes of her brush the two sat down. "Rice cracker?" She offered.
Valentine took the treat biting into it as Mr 3 walked in. "Alright so first things first." He started.
"Colors trap." Goldenweek started calmly.
"The mission can come later." 3 decided.
After half an hour of silent tea and crackers Goldenweek finally removed the paint from their clothes. "So what's our mission? Both of our teams have to work together right?"
"Our main mission, recently provided by the boss, is taking down the four enemies that we believe recently landed on the island." Mr 5 explained.
"Yes, and the other mission is taking down the two giants that live here and retrieving their bounties." 3 added. "How strong are the four that landed here?"
"We fought the lost demon on our own. He's powerful, he took on both me and 5 while simultaneously pointing out flaws in the way we use our fruit." Valentine told them.
"That's embarrassing." Goldenweek whispered.
"So this is a four on four situation." Gem realized. "Princess and the duck can't fight. We have to figure out a way for the two groups to turn on each other."
"Have the giants take care of the pirates and clean up afterwards, that could work." 3 cut in. "You guys are going to want to be careful though, there's a creature on this island that goes after people who are alone. She's too powerful to handle without backup."
"A creature, if it's just a mindless beast we could kill it with a couple of explosions."
"No 5, it isn't mindless. In fact it shares a hive mind with its pack, and it looks humanoid. A woman with green skin and scales covering her body, like a reptile." 3 told him.
"So how did you hear about it? How do you know it's dangerous?" Valentine asked.
"I saw it kill a T-Rex and feed on it with its group. Sharp teeth and some weird gas that puts it prey to sleep, if you see it kill it if you can. Otherwise, we have more important things going on."
"Alright back to the plan guys." Goldenweek bit into another rice cracker. "How do we get the giants to attack our new targets?"
Mr 3 laughed. "That part is simple, they see us all as enemies. All we gotta do is attack one and get away with it, those stupid titans will do the rest for us."
"It's a gamble, but it's one we have to take. I want to see Jay crushed beneath me." Valentine growled.
"I'm hoping to learn a little more." 5 smirked. "More strength for our organization, no reason to pass up good training."
I woke to the feeling of pain, my arms and legs felt restrained. The moment I opened my eyes, I knew why. All around me was a swarm of reptile dogs, pacing back and forth some prodding at me like I was their next meal.
"Oh look, you're awake." I turned to the voice and was met by a beautiful reptilian bitch. Can I call her a bitch? I'm calling her a bitch.

I wished the screen away as the prowler queen kept talking. "I would like to thank you, though I can't make you bleed, incorporating your DNA has allowed my son to advance. He'll be born a dragon with an awakened lineage, he will fulfill the wish that all reptiles have from birth." She told me.
"My DNA? The hell did you do? Where am I?" I asked.
"Don't worry, it was just some of your hair, it kinda makes you the child's father." She laughed.
'Asobu, explanation?'
Asobu sighed. "Fine, I'll stop laughing at your misfortune. You created her, this world as you know has been influenced by your system. These field bosses are now additions to this world, they'll appear and are usually very hostile towards other creatures. Anyone can defeat them, anyone that does will get a good reward. Kinda like this one."
[Quest has been created!
Defeat Prowler Queen Zarli!
Reward: 1 legendary skill]
"Don't worry though, there's only ten field bosses because the rewards are so great. Also they're usually in isolated areas, it's very unlikely that anyone except a gamer would fight one. Zarli is the weakest of the group." Asobu went on. "Though she's the weakest, she has something most of the others don't. She can create her own species and have offspring. The offspring will slowly adapt to the new world and in the future remain a part of it."
'So there's more with the ability to create offspring?' I asked.
"Just one, she's the third strongest because her group is already so powerful." Asobu replied. "Don't worry though, you'll probably never meet her."
"Are you done ignoring me?" Zarli growled.
I nodded. "Sorry about that, I was just gathering information. Can you let me go?" I pleaded.
"I haven't properly thanked you yet, wouldn't it be a great gift to be the meal of an evolved being?" She smiled darkly.
"Well then, hard way it is." I tapped the floor blinking out of my restraints and running away out of the cave as fast as possible, a whole army of reptile mutts on my tail.
"Kabababa!" The giant roared. "So little woman, what were you doing in the middle of a forest on an island as dangerous as this one?"
Vivi bit her lower lip, wondering if the giant was planning on eating her. "I was split up from my friends, they're probably looking for me so I should head back."
The giant laughed again. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna eat you."
Vivi glanced around, seeing a mountain of human bones. She started doubting the man heavily. "R-Right, I'm sure I don't taste good anyways."
"Kabababa! These bones are from the unfortunate people that land on this island, the log pose won't reset until a year goes past. No one has ever been able to survive the whole time, most died to sickness, others to starvation. There were even some dumb little humans that tried attacking us, needless to say they were all killed." He told her.
"Us?"
"My name is Dorry the blue ogre. Me and Brogy on the other side of this island have been fighting for a hundred years. It's become a battle of honor and pride."
"Why are you two even fighting?"
"Well… I forgot. It was something really important, it doesn't matter now. This battle doesn't end until one of us dies." At that moment, the Volcano erupted. "Seems it's time."
Vivi stood up along with the giant. "Time for what?"
"The volcano signals the start of the next bout, maybe this one is the one that settles it." He grabbed his sword and shield and ran to battle.
Vivi whistled. "Karoo!" The duck came crashing through the woods hugging Vivi and quacking happily. "Hey Karoo, I need you to help me follow after that giant." Seeing the frightened expression on his face she knew he thought the same thing she had. "Don't worry he's not going to eat us, there's a fight. We have to go watch it."
Karue saluted her and turned around. Vivi jumped on top as Karue dashed off in pursuit of the giant man.
Brogy and Dorry met in the clearing, Vivi noticed Arie off to the side shaking in anticipation. Behind the group, the four baroque works members lay in wait, the first clash sent shockwaves throughout the clearing knocking down trees and pushing the audience back.
"You got this Brogy!" Arie cheered. "Just knock him down!"
"Well she's enthusiastic, isn't she Karue?" Vivi giggled. The fight she was witnessing was amazing, the strength displayed was something she could never hope to match. "Why is everyone so strong?" She complained. "What happened to normal people, maybe I should go visit the east blue, I hear it isn't as dangerous there."
"The two giants are fighting, couldn't we just take advantage of this?" Mr 5 asked. "Let's just blow one up."
The ground around the three groups began rumbling, this time it wasn't from an eruption or the two giants. "Fucking finally!" I cheered. "Yo, someone help me deal with this psycho reptile bitch!" From the forest an army of prowlers led by a reptilian woman broke into the clearing.
The giant's battle stopped and everyone in the clearing froze. They all turned to stare at me as I continued running towards them.
Arie gathered water at her feet. "Jay? What the hell happened to you?"
"Carue run!" Vivi yelled as she hopped on.
"That dumbass!" Mr 3 yelled.
"Either help me or start running!" I blinked past the group and kept going.
Pink gas emitted from Zarli's body spreading out and overcoming the group as I continued to run. 3 broke out from the mist running beside me. "You brought that monster here?!"
"Oh shut up." I panted. "Weren't you just trying to get those giants to turn against us? Let's just run!"
"At least my plan wasn't going to get us all killed!"
"First of all, this wasn't a plan! Secondly your plan was gonna get us executed! Who the fuck would want that?!" I shouted back.
"Oh come on boys, don't run from me. I'm sure we can think of something fun to do." Zarli cooed.
"I don't think getting eaten alive is something fun to do, you crazy bitch!" 3 yelled. "We were so close, all we had to do was catch a few people and we were out of here, this is all your fault!"
"This chase has been fun, but it's over now." Zarli laughed, the second her next foot touched the floor a wave of purple gas shot forward sweeping past us before solidifying and creating a giant wall that we crashed into.
"Fuck you I'm out." I blinked past the wall or at least, I tried. Mr 3 grabbed onto my shirt before I could make the move.
"You got us into this mess, you'll get me out." He smiled as he threw me towards the group of prowlers that were over five meters away, I had to use my blink just to appear back next to him.
'The skill blink has leveled up.'
"Look as it stands we can't keep running, I vote you hold them off while I go get help." I suggested.
"Huh?! Why should you be the one to get us help, the others are all taking a nap and there's no one else on the island. Who are you planning on finding?!" 3 argued.
"Alright, then we're just gonna have to…" I paused trying to swallow the concept, Galdino never was my favorite baroque works member. "We're gonna have to work together, apparently we've already met this bitch so we're the only ones she can't put to sleep. We don't have much of a choice."
"Nope." Mr 3 refused. "I'd rather die."
"Well that's the only other option!" I countered. "If you want to die, don't drag me down with you!"
"F-Fine. One time, after this I'm capturing you all and taking you to the boss." He decided.
"Oh you mean Crocodile." I smirked.
"W-What no, you didn't just-"
I pointed up to 13 and Miss Friday. "Oh no, now you're just gonna die if you go back. Might as well let us go."
"You bastard!" He yelled.
"Let's just focus on not dying."
[Prowlers, Lv. 25
Hp: 50, Str: 30
A strange creature brought into this world by Zarli. It has poisonous fangs and a ferocious bite.
Hates whatever its queen orders to be dead, tends to tear its prey apart before feasting on its corpse.
Although it has low health, it makes up for it in numbers and speed]
Mr 3's hair lit aflame and wax began seeping from his hands. "So what's the plan?"
"Survive." I answered honestly.
"Well there's an easy way for me to do that." He smirked as the wax flooded around his body forming into a ball.
"You're not getting away that easily." I stood above the ball, empowering my leg with ice. "Hasshoken!" With that one simple attack the wax cracked and Mr 3 fell out of it in shock. "My plan of survival includes help from you, wash them with a wave of wax or something. All we have to do is win."
"You bastard, candle lock." As the wax spread around my feet locking me in place he bowed to Zarli. "Please kill him, not me."
"Are you serious?! You just agreed to help, you're such a coward!" I complained.
"I'd rather live than die any day." He countered.
Zarli laughed. "You don't need to lock him down, I'm more than enough to kill him, however… I hate people like you, I'll deal with this one after you're dead."
"Want my help now?" I drawled.
"Wax Wax release." He whispered.
I stretched my legs and settled into position. "Well then, let's go."
The army of prowlers rushed forward, 3,s hair lit anew as a wave of wax washed over the group. "That's what I like to see." I jumped into the air landing in the middle of the group with a frost rupture.
A few of the prowlers who had jumped to avoid the wave pounced on me. I ducked beneath one as another aimed for my neck, I grabbed its head and used its open jaw to tear through one of its own. A large group tried rushing me head on as a wall of ice blocked their path.
[Ice wall: Cooldown 12 seconds…]
Mr 3 was doing his best to fend them off on his own, he created a sword from the wax slashing through anything that got too close.
I used my chains to grab onto one of the prowlers and swung it to take out a small wave. As their assault regained its vigor I blinked in between the group once again using my chains to pull them all towards me. One bit my leg as I jumped into the air and crushed the group with a second frost rupture.
[You have been poisoned, health will continue to fall unless an antidote is made.]
Mr 3 sent out another tsunami to trap a few more prowlers as they collapsed in on us wave after wave. I jumped back towards him while pelting the group with snowballs, I empowered my foot with the hasshoken martial art and attacked the ground. The vibrations sent into it caused the earth to rupture, taking out a few more enemies.
"Alright, just ten more." 3 said confidently.
"We have to finish this fast." I told him. "I was poisoned and I'd rather not die here."
"Why would that be my problem?" He asked.
"That reptile bitch is still here, of course it's your problem." I replied.
Without much effort the rest of the prowlers were dead, leaving just their queen. "Well would you look at that, it seems you guys aren't complete weaklings." She dashed forward, smoke appearing in her hands as it formed into twin daggers.
"Candle lock!" The attack was swiftly dodged. I dashed in to meet her.
"You don't seriously believe you can keep up with me, do you?"
"I have the edge in speed and strength, I'm sure I'll be fine." I ducked under a slash from one of her daggers before countering with a knee to the stomach. 3 took the chance to lock her foot with wax, I danced around her attacking endlessly before the poison that appeared at her feet had finally melted through the wax. She smirked as her poison gas re-emerged from her hands and formed around my foot.
"That's my move!" Mr 3 complained.
I began to emit shockwaves from my foot shattering the restraints as I followed up with a frost empowered kick. She staggered back as another wave of wax washed over her, she looked around frantically searching for the enemy that had disappeared during the attack.
"Up here dumbass." I smiled as I landed directly on top of her with a frost rupture, her health dropping drastically.
'Zarli, Remaining health: 50/500'
"I've already accomplished my goal in this life." Zarli growled. "My son will reach the true apex of reptiles, with his prowler origins he'll even be immune to poisons. I may die today but my legacy will live on."
As she said that, elsewhere on the island an egg cracked. A young boy with dragon scales and wings was born, his eyes a piercing orange, all he knew is that he needed to leave the cave and flee.
"Though I may die, I'm not going down without a fight." She promised as she dropped down on all fours.
Mr 3 began to laugh. "Now finish her Jay!"
I stepped to the side as Zarli blitzed past me and bit into 3's shoulder. Her poison spread quickly and he fell to the floor. "Damn, I probably should've stopped her." I blinked forward and with one more attack her body faded away.

3's body jerked as the poison faded away. "Seems it only lasts until she dies. At least he doesn't take part in the reward, just as planned."

I drew my card as the battle came to a close.
Vivi woke up to see Arie breathing heavily with a smile on her face. "These reptiles weren't all that."
"What happened?" Vivi asked as everyone in the area began waking up.
"A strange purple smoke washed over everyone and you all fell asleep, prowlers came after and tried to finish you guys off." Arie explained.
"Why weren't you affected?" Valentine asked, not believing she'd be helped by the enemy.
"My water protects me from the air, it defends against nearly everything." Arie told her.
At that time I walked into the clearing with Mr 3 helping him to stay on his feet. "The missions are over." 3 told everyone.
"Alright." Goldenweek shrugged, biting into a rice cracker.
5 questioned him. "We're gonna need to know why, the boss ordered this mission. What right do you have to end it?"
Mr 3's flame lit up. "Because of this bastard! He had the nerve to tell me that Crocodile was our leader and now the unluckies already know."
The clearing went silent, even the giants had chosen to walk away from that bit of news. "Did he really just?" Goldenweek asked.
Mr 3 tried to cover his mouth but it was too late, the unluckies landed with the drawings. Adding Goldenweek, Valentine, and 5 onto the drawn portraits to take back to Crocodile. Arie grinned as she whispered to Vivi. "He's here! My pet!"
13 instinctively turned defensive as he saw Arie advance towards him. He tried to flee with 13 but Arie tackled him. "Activate the pet system." She smiled as a wave of blue aura washed over the creature and he looked ahead wildly. "He can see it." Arie cheered silently. "Now I just have to befriend him."
"So what now?" Gem asked. "We're no longer baroque works."
Miss Friday tried to fly off on her own but Marianne splashed her with paint that left her too depressed to fly. "We should leave before there's any more trouble." She suggested.
"If you four are looking for a crew, I'm sure my captain wouldn't mind." Arie offered.
"Oh hell no, Gem is mine!" I yelled.
"How do you know my name?" He asked.
"Not important, you're with me now. Any problems?" I growled.
"I wasn't really planning on joining-" With a swift movement I knocked him to the floor. "He'll come around eventually."
Fearing for their lives Mikita and Galdino chose Arie. Seeing it as the lesser of the two evils. Marianne shrugged. "This isn't really my problem, I'll just travel on my own now. We can stop by an island and you guys can drop me off."
Arie grabbed the eternal pose from 13.
Vivi was incredibly confused and partially angry. "You want me to travel with the people that are destroying my kingdom!" Karoo nodded along with each word.
"My ship, my rules." I told her. "Besides, if they become a turncoat and think they'll get away, I'll just freeze them and keep them hibernating for the rest of their lives."
"I'm starting to regret asking you to help me." She stalked off towards the shore.
"Arie, I need you to handle the giant goldfish. Once that's done we're setting sail!" With that, the island of giants, comes to a close.
