Author's Note: And we're back.
You're all probably wondering about my plans for this story and the rest of my Marvel/Disney Channel shows crossover fics. Well, I came up with a system. I'll be doing a cycling order. such as the Owl Sanctum, the Black Panther of Amphibia, Iron Hero 7, The Ghost, the Trickster, and Molly McGee, Howard's Ducktales, Marvel Falls, and America and Star vs the Forces of Evil. Once I'm done with all that, I'll restart the system and go in the same order. So after this, I'll be moving onto the next chapter of Howard's Ducktales.
The song featured here is a parody of "Fabulous" from High School Musical 2. It was suggested to me by Lord Zeppelin. He also suggested a joke or two here.
Enjoy the chapter. Any and all comments are welcome.
Loki thought and hoped the other day was just a dream. But after he woke up, he realized it wasn't. He was trapped in a child's body by Death herself, he was confined to work with a ghost in the mortal town of Brighton, and worst of all, he was mystically bound by the most annoying girl in all of Midgard, Molly McGee. But all that was about to change.
In the early morning, with all doors shut and windows blinded, Loki snickered as he waved his arms above a boiling cauldron that glowed green.
"This is it!" Loki declared as he held up a glass jar with a frozen butterfly inside. "Just one last ingredient, and my spell will be complete! Finally, Scratch's foolish curse will have no hold over me! Gotta be careful though. This is the only frozen monarch I could find, imported from Jotunheim. Just got to be careful and…"
"Loki!"
Though she wasn't in the room, Loki could still hear the voice of Molly McGee, which meant he was being summoned. The timing couldn't be more inconvenient because as soon as he disappeared from his room, he dropped his butterfly which shattered when it hit the ground. He suddenly found himself appearing in Molly's room where the girl and Scratch were.
"Are you kidding me?!" Loki complained. "Do you know how hard it is to get mystic ingredients smuggled here to Midgard without the Asgardians noticing? Heimdall has the ability to see and hear anything in the Nine Realms. It'd be a real problem for me if he found any trace of me being alive."
"Sorry, Loki." Molly said. "But I promise you, I have a very good reason for bringing you up here this early in the morning. I have great news for you. I'm about to make your time here in Brighton an absolute delight!"
Loki looked at Moly with interest. "Really? Does that mean you're leaving?"
"No. Even better. I, Molly McGee, officially invite you… TO SCHOOL!"
"…Say what now?" Loki asked in a confused tone.
"You heard me." Molly pulled out her smartphone and revealed several news articles she kept bookmarked. "After I met you the other day, I did a bit of research on you. And surprisingly, you made quite an impact on the world, especially in recent years. I mean, you let a ten-story wolf roam the streets of Chicago."
"Fenris needed the exercise." Loki said.
"You mystically carved your own face on Mount Rushmore."
"Why should four mortals be a mountain while I'm only remembered in textbook pages?"
"You summoned a growing snake that almost killed your brother."
"It was just a joke. I'm a mischievous scamp."
"And that's why you're a legend." Scratch commented
Molly put her phone down and looked at the Trickster. "Look, Loki, I've been reading all this stuff, and you can't really make a lot of friends with this attitude. You need some. And since you got a second chance at life, this is now you're second chance to be better. So by attending school with me, you can join me in forming friendships!"
"That is the worst idea I have ever heard." Loki said.
"What? Come on, Lo-Lo." Molly said.
"Don't call me Lo-Lo." Loki growled.
"Okay. What about Kiki?"
"No nicknames!" Loki said. "And no chance either for me to go to your dumb school!"
"Hey, Moll, how about I talk to him?" Scratch asked. "Some guy talk."
"Uh, sure. Go ahead." Molly said.
Scratch headed to the far side of the room to not be heard by Molly. Loki went with him.
"You got to go to school with Molly." Scratch said.
"What? Have you lost your dead mind, Scratch?" Loki asked.
"Listen. Before Molly summoned you, she and I had a talk and an idea popped in my head." Scratch said. "Molly wants this day to be a happy success for her making a lot of friends. The last thing she needs is to be treated like a social outcast."
"I don't see how that's my problem." Loki said.
"But hear me out. If today turns into a failure for her, then she'd be ruined and ashamed. She'd have to leave Brighton and the curse would be broken."
Loki's eyes brightened up and he shared a conniving smile. "I see. So if I go, I can use my magic to make Molly look like a fool in front of the school. Brilliant." He then turned to Molly. "Molly McGee, after careful consideration, I have decided to accept your invitation to attend school with you."
Molly gasped in complete excitement. "YES! FRIENDSHIP PREVAILS!"
The McGee parents drove Molly, Loki, and Darryl over to the front of the school. Molly exited the car with her brother, but when she turned to the Asgardian, she put on a confused look.
"Loki, what are you wearing?"
Loki had on a green outfit that looked like it belongs to a wizard. He also wore a golden headset shaped like horns.
"What? You don't like it?"
"I told you to wear something nice."
"I don't know what you mortals categorize as 'nice' on Midgard," Loki said, "But this is high fashion on Asgard."
"You kinda look like a dorky witch. Also, lose the horns." Molly said. She swiped his headset from his forehead and threw it over her shoulders.
"My helmet." Loki complained.
"Why don't you dress like that guy?" Darryl pointed at a teenager that looked like a total punk, complete with a mowhawk and black leather clothes. "He's got style."
"Is it legal for middle schoolers to look like that?" Pete asked.
"I got an idea." Sharon said. "Why don't you just wear a green T-shirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers? That sounds like a good compromise."
Loki rolled his eyes and snapped his fingers. In a green flash, he wore exactly what Mrs. McGee told him to wear. "No accounting for taste, I suppose."
"There!" Molly said. Look, out Brighton Middle School! Lukas is in the house!"
"Lukas?" Loki asked.
"Well, we can't let everyone know you're the actual Loki." Molly said. "So now, you're Lukas."
"From Loki to Lukas." Loki said with a blank tone. "Not exactly a big change, but I suppose I'll allow it."
"Have fun, kids." Sharon said.
"I will." Molly said cheerfully.
Scratch was sneaking from behind tailing the kids. He mimicked Molly's cheerful tone. "I guarantee you won't." He hovered next to Loki. "So you got a plan?"
"I've got a million ideas." Loki said. "Trust me when I say that Molly McGee will be begging her family to move out of town before homeroom is over."
"Good morning, class." The teacher, Miss Lightfoot, greeted all the kids sitting in their desks. Molly and Loki stood beside her. "As you can tell, we have a couple of new students joining us. Please welcome Molly and Lukas. Care to share a few words with the class?"
"All I can say is that with me around," Loki said, "Nothing will get boring."
"And me," Molly said, "If there's one thing about me you must know, it's that I…"
At that very second, Loki snapped his fingers without anyone noticing. Suddenly, Molly's shoes glowed green and as soon as she took a step forward, she slipped violently. She tried to stand up straight, but both her feet were enchanted to keep slipping all around the class. Loki snickered seeing the other students watch her with judgement. Loki decided that enough was enough and released the spell. Molly finally managed to stay still back in front of the class chuckling nervously.
"…really like to dance?"
Loki crossed his arms and smiled waiting to hear the students judging her harshly. However, he was shocked to hear the students cheer and applaud. The Trickster dropped his jaw hearing the praise Molly's been getting.
Scratch showed up next to Loki, but he was invisible to everyone who didn't know him. "What happened?"
"What are you asking me for? That should have worked." Loki replied silently.
The applause ended with one slow clap. Everyone turned their eyes to one girl with blue hair and a pink sweater jacket. She smiled at Molly and Loki with intrigue.
"Brava." The blue-haired girl stepped out of her desk to greet the two. "Andrea Davenport, social influencer, future disruptor, and Brighton Middle School's official good will ambassador. That's a lot, I know, but I would be super honored if the two of you were to join me at the school assembly this afternoon."
"Yeah. Sounds like a blast." Loki said sarcastically.
"I think it sounds cool." Molly said. "Thanks, Andrea."
Suddenly, the entire classroom gasped. Even the class hamster gasped with total fright. Loki looked at everyone confused.
"What? Did someone say the secret word?"
Andrea took a very deep breath looking like she just prevented herself from exploding. "It's pronounced 'Ahn-drea'."
"Isn't that what I said?" Molly asked.
"No. You said 'Ann-drea'." Andrea answered.
"The whole class is scared of that?" Loki asked in his head. "You're kidding, right?"
"Oh. I'm so, so sorry." Molly apologized.
"It's fine." Andrea said forgivingly. "Forgive and forget."
"Thanks. It really means a lot, Andrea." Molly got the name right that time, but she suddenly began second-guessing herself. "Wait. Is it 'Ahn' or 'Ann', or is there an O or…" As she kept asking herself, Loki noticed Andrea getting more and more upset as if she was ready to finally explode.
Miss Lightfoot intervened by stopping Molly. "Okay, Molly. We get it. Why don't you find your seat… before you make this even worse?"
Loki smiled when the students finally began judging Molly calling her a monster just for mispronouncing Andrea's name. He turned to the offended girl with satisfaction on his face.
"Well, 'Ahn-drea', I have to say, 'Ahn-drea', that is my distinct pleasure, 'Ahn-drea', to be welcomed by you, 'Ahn-drea'. Go Team 'Ahn-drea'."
Loki followed Molly and they both sat in two empty seats in the back of the class. Right next to them was a shy looking girl with long, brown hair and a blue sweater. She blew a puff of air to get their attention.
"Hey, you should probably know," the girl said, "There was once a girl named Libby. She was bright-eyed and full of promise. Until one day, she called Andrea 'Ann-drea'. And from that day on, she became shunned, an outcast among respectable society."
"What happened to her?" Molly asked.
"Oh. She's me. I'm Libby. Just don't try to get too close. I think I've almost got her worn down." Libby then cried out, "Looking good, 'Ahn-drea'!"
Loki chuckled at Molly's expense. "All the magic I could have done just couldn't compare with what you did to yourself. Not a very good first day, is it, McGee?"
"It's fine." Molly said. "I still have the rest of the day to make friends."
"Whatever you say." Loki said unconvinced.
Unfortunately, Molly didn't have any luck at all with making friends. No matter what she did, whether it's handing out cupcakes or share a lunch or even play dodgeball well, Andrea was always there to get in the way. One influential glare from her instantly made everyone turn on the new girl at every period in the school day. And throughout it all, Loki and Scratch watched from the sidelines enjoying the show.
After Molly's most recent rejection of friends, Scratch took a handful of cash from her and bought two sodas; one for himself and one for Loki. They tapped each other's cans as if they were giving a toast.
"Cheers." Loki said. "To Molly McGee being gone and my return to permanent living."
"Here, here." Scratch said. "Farewell, Molly McGee. I hardly knew ye. Seriously, I've only known you for a few days."
"Hey, hey!"
Loki turned his head to see Andrea Davenport approaching him. Scratch gulped down the rest of his soda before throwing it in the trash so she wouldn't see any sign of him.
"Andrea, what a pleasure to see you." Loki said.
"Yeah, yeah, but that's not why I'm here." Andrea said. "You came to this school with that McGee girl, right? You friends with her?"
Loki groaned loudly. "Absolutely not. She's the second biggest thorn in my side after my own brother. Believe it or not, you turning her into a social outcast is doing me a favor."
Andrea smiled. "All right then. I suppose you're safe then."
"Might I say, I'm really impressed. Truly, I am." Loki said. "The way you have such a grip on this school. Even Miss Lightfoot is afraid to cross you, and she's the teacher."
"Well, my daddy is the richest man in Brighton and I'm quite an internet star." Andrea said. "It's an influential life for me.
Andrea:
A wave of my hand, and they're under my spell
They do as I ask. They do as I tell
The most popular girl you'll ever know of
Andrea Davenport, the heart of Brighton's love
That guy gives me compliments
That girl tells me the trends
Those two polish my locker
And that guy keeps track of my friends
There's nothing that they wouldn't do
With a bibbidi-bobbidi-boo
I've got the magic touch
An enchanting appeal
Quite a magic touch
Yes, it's the real deal
That's just the social influencer that I am
I have the magic touch. Alakazam
A hundred friends at my birthday
A tiara for the Christmas parade
A commercial star for my family store
So yeah. My life's pretty much made
It's great to be so famous
With a bit of hocus pocus
I've got the magic touch
An enchanting appeal
Quite a magic touch
Yes, it's the real deal
That's just the social incluencer that I am
I have the magic touch. Alakazam
Students:
Abracadabra. Abraca-do
Brighton Middle School can't run without you
There's no one here who deserves more love
Than the blue-haired heiress we're all speaking of
Andrea:
I've got the magic touch
An enchanting appeal
Quite a magic touch
Yes, it's the real deal
That's just the social incluencer that I am
I have the magic touch. Alakazam
Just one rule. Get my name right
Or else, I'll ruin your life
With the, with the…
With the, with the…
With the, with the…
WITH THE MAGIC TOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUCH
Students:
START WITH A SALAGADOOLA
ADD IN SOME MECHICKA BOOLA
Andrea:
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK? WHAT DO YOU SAY
DO YOU LIKE THE MAGIC TOOOOOOOOUUUUUCH
Loki:
Well, it's pretty impressive so… yay
"Good answer." Andrea said. "That is why I'd like you to join me at the assembly this afternoon. Once I give you my approval, you'll have quite a solid standing here in school."
"Really?" Loki asked. He admits, seeing Andrea's influence all over the school is quite inspiring, even to a God of Mischief like him. "Well, I'm certainly intrigued."
"Great. I'll be there in a bit. I gotta freshen up first. You go on ahead."
"I will." Loki said before walking away. He chuckled to himself. "She's a diva, but I'm beginning to think that not all of the Brighton mortals are a waste of space."
Loki straightened his outfit behind the closed stage curtain of the school auditorium. He had been awaiting for Andrea to come to him for a little while.
"Where is she?" Loki asked. "I swear, if she's distracted by a tweet, I'm going to get a little ticked."
Suddenly, the doors at the side of the stage burst open. Loki was completely taken off guard when Molly McGee rolled in on a cleaning cart that tipped forward. She fell out along with the unconscious body of Andrea Davenport. Scratch floated behind her with a cocky smug look on his face.
Loki saw Andrea's body and widened his eyes in shock. "Molly, what did you do?"
"It wasn't me!" Molly cried out. "Scratch accidentally scared Ann-drea…"
"'Ahn-drea'." Scratch corrected.
"Whatever!" Molly yelled out. "The point is, she passed out and I'm trying to get her to the nurse's office!"
"But that lady only has band-aids." Loki said.
"I know! That's what I said." Scratch said.
"I have to try." Molly said. "I can't let anyone see this."
"Sure, sure." Scratch said as he sneakily hovered over near the backstage ropes. "Hey, I'm just going to pull on this rope for no reason."
"Scratch, wait!" Loki called out, but he was too late.
Scratch had already released a rope and the stage curtain opened up. The entire auditorium was filled with students and teachers who gasped at the sight of Molly and "Lukas" standing over Andrea's unconscious body. Shame filled both of the kids as they felt the judgement from the crowd.
"Is that Molly and Lukas?"
"What are they doing with Andrea?"
"They're monsters!"
"No, no! This is a misunderstanding!" Molly pleaded. "If I told you the truth… you'll think I'm insane."
Loki was very ashamed at how it looked. He turned to Scratch who leaned himself backwards. Loki stomped over towards him and grabbed him by the nose.
"What are you doing, Scratch?!" Loki asked furiously.
"What? This was always the plan, remember? Embarrass Molly, and she'll be so ashamed, she'd leave Brighton."
"You just ruined my standing with this crowd!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Andrea was about to give me her approval and I was about to start gaining a reputation at this place. This is the closest thing I can get to being treated like royalty for a while, and you ruined it by making me look like an assailant along with Molly.
"Oh." Scratch said feeling embarrassed. "But what about the plan?"
"If it was just Molly, I wouldn't care. But now I'm taking as much blame as her. Thanks to you, everyone's going to think we're the worst of the worst!"
Suddenly, a memory flashed in front of Scratch's eyes.
Scratch was in the ghost world standing at the front of a club where the best ghosts attend. He very much wanted to get in, but the large bounced in front of him refused to let him pass.
"This party is for popular ghosts, not the worst of the worst."
The bouncer then took Scratch and threw him far away from the club.
Once Scratch returned to the present, he was immediately filled with sympathy and regret. "Oh, no! What have I done? Loki, you're smart! How do I fix it?"
"You're a ghost, aren't you?" Loki asked. "So take your ecoplasmic self over to Andrea, possess her, and set things straight."
"On it." Scratch said. While the crowd shouted their boos of disapproval to Molly, the ghost phased himself right through Andrea's skin and made her stand up.
"Hey, everyone! Andrea Davenport here! Give me an applause here. What I gotta do?"
Everyone stopped booing when "Andrea" flopped around the stage in front of everyone, including Molly and Loki.
"Is that Scratch?" Molly asked.
"Yep. Told him to fix this." Loki said.
"All right, folks. Let's get this straight." Scratch said from Andrea's body. "First of all, I'm over the whole 'Ahn-drea'-'Ann-drea' thing. I mean, life's too short. Take it from me. You can call me 'Ann-drea' or 'Oon-drea' or whatever. I don't care anymore. Let's get creative Now, let's get serious for a minute. Because there's someone out there having a really rough day. And I think, in some small way, that it's my fault. They don't deserve to be treated like the worst of the worst. No one does. So please, on my behalf, give a big Brighton Middle School cheer for Lukas and… LIBBY! She's okay now! I decree it!"
Everyone, especially Molly, was shocked when "Andrea" gave approval to Libby. The spotlight shined on her and everyone cheered for her.
"YES! OUTCAST, NO MORE!" Libby declared full of happiness.
"Scratch." Molly said.
"Oh, yeah." Scratch said turning back to the crowd. "Molly McGee is cool too, I guess. Cut her some slack, you animals." He winked at Molly before floating out of Andrea's body. Once he did, Andrea finally woke up with ecoplasm in her ear and everyone cheering her name the way she didn't like it.
"What? What's going on?" Andrea asked. She turned to Loki. "Lukas, what's going on?"
Loki was hesitant to answer, but then decided to lie. "Well, you just gave me your approval, but also gave it to Molly and Libby."
"What?" Andrea asked. "I don't remember that."
"And yet, it happened." Loki said. "Everyone saw it and I don't have an answer for that."
"But… I…" Andrea stammered trying to make sense of it.
"Take it easy." Loki advised. "Look, the school day is over anyway. Why don't you head on home and have a rest?"
"I… I…" Andrea said before she sighed. "All right. Thanks, by the way." She walked out of the auditorium confused.
A few minutes later, all the students have begun to leave school. Molly waved goodbye to all her new friends before reuniting with Loki and Scratch.
"So Scratch, it turns out you were wrong." Molly said. "I ended the day with a ton of friends."
"All right. Don't get all mushy." Scratch said.
"But it turns out you were also right." Molly said bringing the ghost and the Asgardian for a group hug. "This day could have been a huge disaster if it weren't for my bestest friends!"
"What?" Loki asked shoving himself out of Molly's embrace. "I am not your friend!"
"And neither am I!" Scratch said.
"Then why did you boys save me?" Molly asked.
"I didn't do it for you. I did it for Loki." Scratch said.
"And I was caught sharing the blame with you." Loki said. "I needed Andrea awake in order to get some respect in this school."
"You got more than that, buddy." Molly said. "You got friends just like I knew you would."
Loki widened his eyes. "Wait, what?"
"You heard me." Molly said. "First, you befriended Andrea. And now, you made as much friends as I did."
Loki's face turned to fear upon realizing her point. "Odin's beard, she's right."
"Wow. I'll be darned." Scratch said.
Molly laughed and danced with Loki and Scratch walking beside her. She sang along playfully. "Who made a ton of friends? Molly McGee! And who made a lot of friends too? Loki!"
"Loki! Loki! Loki!"
Molly McGee's declaration echoed through the air, from one plane to another. Anyone else wouldn't have heard it. However, the words echoed all the way to Asgard reaching the ears of a large man with eyes as golden as his sword and armor. He stood next to a muscular hero with long, blonde hair, a red cape, and his signature hammer.
"Loki!"
As soon as that name reached the gold-armored man's ears, he widened his eyes. That caught the attention of the man with the hammer right next to him.
"Is something wrong, Heimdall?"
"Prince Thor… It was probably nothing." Heimdall said suspiciously. "I just thought I heard… something."
