I DREAM OF RAINBOWS
Disclaimer: The Cullen's, the Swans, and most of the characters mentioned in the story that are known from Stephanie Meyer's beloved Twilight Saga, are all hers and hers alone. I neither have nor wish to pass them off as mine. I do appreciate the fact that she did bring them to life and allows us to play with them in our imaginations. The only thing I will claim is the current storyline.

This situation continues for a week with not being able to get a hold of Edward and at the same time not having him return any of her calls. She had left message at both his office and on his cell phone voicemail.
So, with having enough of this going on Bella goes to his office as finding out from Emmett that Edward is in.
CHAPTER 63: CAUGHT
Marching through his office door from the hallway, Bella encounters a man seated behind the desk that used to be occupied by a woman that had acted like she owned Edward. She was an absolute bulldog protecting its bone when it came to another woman trying to get in to see Edward.
Bella explained who she was and that she needed to speak with Edward only to be told that she would need to make an appointment since he was fully booked for the day. "That won't do since I do need to speak with him now." She told the young man.
"Sorry, Ms. Swan, but that isn't possible like I've already explained to you. I can assure you that I have given Mr. Cullen your message each time that you've called, and he only replied that he would handle getting back in touch with you when he could."
It was with a sigh that Bella started to turn away at the same time that Edward's PA returned to his desk to answer the phone. Once he had turned away and his attention was no longer on Bella, she returned to her original path which was to Edward's door.
She stands there for a bit contemplating how she should handle all of this nonsense. That brought her to thinking, 'So, as I stand before the doorway that leads to hell and the devil himself, I think about those words of my Gran and wonder what wisdom she could pass on to me now that could help me to turn this situation around to where I could see more rainbows?'
Her attention is drawn back to the PA and realizing that he is about to end his phone conversation, which led her to just reach out for the doorknob to open Edward's office door. Quickly slipping inside she notices that Edward is occupied with something on his desk and that he's unaware of Bella even standing before him.
Before she can move or let Edward know that she's in his office, the phone rings and Edward absent-mindedly reaches out to answer it. After listening to the caller for a moment or two, Edward answers, "Yes, Alicia, I will definitely be there to attend to your more personal needs this evening."
Hearing that was all the confirmation that Bella needed that she had indeed entered hell and was facing the devil. That statement of Edward's to the woman on the phone was all it took for Bella to be freed from her frozen state. She advanced so fast toward Edward and without thinking drew back and hit Edward in the nose with her fist.
"What the hell?!" He yelled before seeing who had hit him. Once he was able to concentrate on who was in his office, his surprise was even greater. "Bella, why the hell did you hit me?" He demanded to know.
Before either Bella or Edward could say another word, the door suddenly swung open, and Edward's PA was standing there. He noticed Bella standing close to Edward and made to move forward while reaching out as if to make a grab for Bella. At the same time, he spoke to Edward saying, "Sir, I'm sorry about her getting in here. I had told her that you were busy and that she needed to make an appointment."
Edward looked at his PA and then over at Bella while the whole time still holding his nose. Feeling something wet on his hand he withdrew it to realize that his nose was bleeding. It also felt as if Bella had broken it when she punched him. But finally snapping out of his temporary daze Edward ordered his PA, "Go get me some damn paper towels and then get back to doing your job properly from here on out."
The PA quickly left, quietly closing the door behind him as Edward turned to face Bella, "Why the hell did you do that? Are you out of your fuckin' mind and I'm just now finding out about it?" He demanded to know.
"You have some nerve asking me that after all you've put me through." She replied back at him.
"After what I've put you through? What the hell are you talking about? What about all the hell you and your family hve put me through?"
"Edward Cullen, you are the lowest form of humanity and I never want to have anything else to do with you or any company that you represent ever again.
"You lie, cheat and steal without giving a damn about whether the other person is getting hurt. And after meeting the other members of your family I know damn well that you were not raised to be the way you are where the opposite sex is concerned.
"Forget that you ever knew me, erase my number from your phone and never call me or contact me in any way ever again. And don't worry, I'll be doing the same with your information." And, with that said Bella turned and marched out of the office, slamming the door behind her as she left.
As she passed through the outer office and saw the PA returning, she told him, "If you chose to continue to work for that snake in the other office, then you're no better than he is."
Bella didn't take the time to stop to see Jasper or Emmett; all she wanted to do was to get as far away from Edward and anything that had to do with him at that moment as fast as she could.
She went back to the home she had rented for her duration of needing to be in Los Angeles during the filming of the movie and no sooner than entering the door she began packing up her things. Other than packing and getting ready to leave, Bella called the airlines and made a reservation for her trip home to Seattle.
No one; she wanted to talk to no one at that moment, not even her father. She felt totally humiliated and then disappointed with herself because she had allowed herself to be taken in by a con artist. She just wasn't able to let Rose or Alice know that she was leaving as they would be asking too many questions and seeking answers for her sudden departure as she felt that she wasn't in a good place at the moment to give them any answers. At least not any that would make any sense, or that they would be willing to accept at face value.
And for the same reasons she felt that if she notified Emmett or Jasper that she wasn't going to remain in LA nor would she be returning unless it was absolutely necessary, they would demand answers as to the reasons as well. Of course, they would automatically assume that Edward was behind her leaving, and they would be right. She didn't want to cause any trouble between the brothers or between Edward and his parents. Edward would be doing that himself as the situation of her not being available became known.
It didn't take her long to be packed and back at the airport to be able to catch her flight back to Seattle. Bella was determined to keep a tight reign on her emotions as she didn't want to show her humiliation to strangers.
She arrived back home, dropped her bags at the door then making sure that everything was locked before going into her bedroom with tears finally being able to fall freely.
Bella could hear the phone ringing but wasn't in thje right place in her mind or emotions to answer it, so she allowed it to ring and go to voice mail.

Alice became worried about her cousin as both she and Rosalie had expected to hear from Bella as to what time they would be meeting up for dinner that evening.
The hours passed and no word from Bella. So, both women decide to go over to the house that Bella had been renting only to discover that no one is there.
After looking around they realize that there is no food in the kitchen or the fridge. Also, Bella's clothes and her bags were missing. All of this indicating that Bella had left L. A. for some reason, and they were convinced that the reason had to do with one Edward Cullen.
Over a several day period they kept trying to get an answer from Bella at her Seattle home but with no luck. They did consider calling their Uncle Charlie to see if he had heard from her but decided not to do that in case Bella didn't want him to know about her not being in L. A.
It was possible that Bella had cut herself off from the outside world to get some work done on the current book she was working on. That was something she had done in the past, not often, but she had done so to give her some privacy so she could concentrate on what she was doing. But the longer it took with no word from Bella the more the two women began to worry about their cousin.
It was at that point that the discussion of calling their Uncle Charlie was once again brought up and as before they decided to wait. However, it was decided to ask Emmett or Jasper if either of the two men had seen or heard from Bella. It was hoped that at least one of the guys had some kind of answer for them.

Edward was convinced that after Bella had had time to cool off and rethink about her actions that she had taken towards him; he felt that then they both would be able to have an adult conversation as to what she had happened to have overheard.
Of course, he did have a difficult time explaining to his parents and brothers why his nose was swollen and was sporting some bruising around his eyes. Although his excuse was flimsy no one questioned him any further about the situation.
After three days had passed and no word from Bella Edward did start to wonder why. He was sure that by now she would have calmed down and called him if for no other reason but to demand answers for what had been said in his office before he had known that she was there.
The problem was that Edward had warned Bella that he was going to be busy for a while and would be in touch with her when his workload had died down a bit. She seemed to have been all right with that explanation at the time, at least as far as he knew.
True she had texted and called both his personal and business numbers and even left messages, but he forgot to respond to any of them. His mind was on other things and amongst those things, he was trying to work out his feelings towards Bella. He was wanting space away from her to get his head and his emotions more in order so he might be able to understand what was happening to him.
It was hard, for him, to understand exactly what he was feeling for Bella and to understand the reasons why he was feeling that way. This had never happened to him before with any other woman, so why was it happening to him with Bella? What was making her different than any of the others that he had been associated with?
But all of this wondering wasn't explaining why Edward hadn't heard from Bella. So, he came to the conclusion that maybe he ought to give her a call on the pretense of making sure that she was okay and to see if she was receptive to seeing him. However, before he could do that Edward ended up having company; company that he didn't particularly need at that moment.
He wasn't used to his home being invaded by anyone. Before he was able to get a single word out of his mouth to be able to ask what the hell was going on, both Alice and Rosalie charged him. They grabbed him up so fast and had him backed into a wall that Edward didn't have a chance to react let alone his brothers being able to have time to stop the two women. None of the three men realized that these two women were capable of having such strength.
"What the hell have you done to Bella?" Both Alice and Rosalie demanded at the same time.
A/N: Edward is having to face certain decisions that he has been making. Also, to question the subtle changes in his attitude towards the opposite sex. Bella received a shock and made her decisions based on what she had overheard and reacted without further thought. Was she correct in doing so? Now, Alice and Rosalie are facing Edward with demands of what happened between him and Bella.
I would like to wish each and everyone of the very best of the New Year. Celebrate safely and with commonsense.
My New Year resolution is to get back to updating as I used to do before this year threw me into some harsh situations that had to be dealt with.
