I DREAM OF RAINBOWS

Disclaimer: The Cullen's, the Swans, and most of the characters mentioned in the story that are known from Stephanie Meyer's beloved Twilight Saga, are all hers and hers alone. I neither have nor wish to pass them off as mine. I do appreciate the fact that she did bring them to life and allows us to play with them in our imaginations. The only thing I will claim is the current storyline.

The awesome and talented dowlingnana searched out my errors and corrected them.

All Alice did was shake her head no and then informed him that she had gotten a text from Rosalie saying that she hadn't been able to get a response from Bella either.

CHAPTER 65: DETERMINATION

Time passed and Bella continued not to communicate with anyone in connection with the movie. She had made her decision to move forward without having anything else to do with it. However, Alice and Rosalie had refused to give up trying to reach her, so they decided to talk with their Uncle Charlie.

Of course, that was a difficult discussion since neither woman felt comfortable telling Charlie Swan any details about the misunderstanding that had occurred between his daughter and Edward Cullen. They knew how their uncle had overreacted before to the different situations that had happened between Bella and Edward, and they were determined not to have that sort of reaction once again.

All that Charlie had been told was that Bella had overheard a conversation which led to a misunderstanding between the production company and herself and that was why she had decided to remove herself from the entire project since she had fulfilled her obligations that were in the contract.

Charlie did question both of his nieces about the whole story, but they stood by what they had already told him. They refused to add any more information, which left Charlie utterly frustrated. He did tell them that he would see what he could do about getting a hold of Bella and telling her to give them a call, but he refused to do anything more than that.

That conversation with Alice and then Rosalie made Charlie very curious about what had really happened to cause Bella to suddenly leave everything as she had done. He did call his daughter and asked his questions after telling her that her cousins were desperately trying to get in touch with her. However, Bella refused to say anything further than what she had already told her father and then added that she felt it was time for her to move on to other things.

As time passed, Bella did get her book finished and began another book tour since the book was turning out to be such a success. And during that time, she heard that the movie made from her first book was finished and due to be released in the theaters in just a matter of weeks.

There were already rumors floating that it along with the actors starring in the movie, Going for The Rainbows, were possibly heading for awards, especially Oscar nominations.

After Bella had left L. A. nearly a year ago, she had told her agent, Mark Strollman and her attorney, Carson Darwell, to deal with anything that had to do with finishing the movie that would require a decision from her. She told each of them that she was through with having anything to do with Cullen Productions.

Neither Alice nor Rosalie was able to talk with Bella at any time after she had left L. A. Each woman had moved on to other projects but was upset that they had never been able to resolve the issues that had arisen between Bella and Edward.

During that time Edward had made a lot of changes in his lifestyle of how he was now doing things. He still dated but only when he needed to have a lovely on his arm for certain events that required his attendance. Other than that, he wasn't playing the playboy scene any longer.

He had come to the resolution that he had to change his ways if he was going to be able to have another chance to have a relationship with Bella. Although, at that moment seeing Bella again, or even trying to get her forgiveness seemed to be only a pipe dream.

For several weeks after she had left and no one had been able to get a hold of her to explain the mistake that had been made, he was moody and almost impossible to deal with. Both of his parents forced him into therapy to deal with both his habits and his depression. And at first that didn't even seem to make an impression on him but as time passed, he was starting to respond to his therapist and that was helping him to change his ways.

Edward had asked both Rosalie and Alice their opinion of him making a phone call to Charlie Swan asking for information on how to get a hold of Bella since she wasn't staying in touch with anyone in L. A. Their answer was a resounding NO. "That wouldn't be a good idea at the moment since none of us know what Bella has or hasn't told Uncle Charlie."

Edward, after some thought, had to agree with them considering what happened the last time Bella had told her father about certain happenings between him and Bella. He definitely didn't want any sort of repeat of any situation like that ever again.

As time passed Edward was making great progress with his therapy, but he was also having to fight bouts of depression. The thoughts of never being able to see or talk to Isabella Swan ever again would throw him into a deep state of depression that he had to have an extra session with his therapist to try to work through that bout of his depression.

It seemed that the one problem that Edward was still having was learning to stop trying to control everything around him. He was steadily thinking of ways that he could get Bella to listen to him and to come back into his life as well as trying to control every aspect of each department in the company instead of delegating responsibility and allowing his brothers to deal with their own areas of expertise.

And, with all of this thought process that Edward was putting into confronting Bella he never realized that, even to admit to himself, that he was in love with Isabella Swan and had to have her in his life. The realization of the stress and pain that he caused her, once he was in a place where he was finally able to admit it to others and himself, would trigger his depression and then the cycle would begin all over again. It was tearing him apart not being able to be near her or to hear her voice even if it was just to tell him what an asshole he was being. She never put up with any of his crap right from the beginning.

His family was proud of him for the strides he had made in his therapy towards his improvement but even they knew that he still had a way to go.

The movie was released, and it had resounding reviews. It became an overnight hit. And, as predicted was nominated for many different awards which included several Oscar nominations.

Rosalie, Alice and all of the Cullen's hoped that Bella would show up for the premiere of the movie but no such luck. She had told them that she wanted nothing else to do with the movie since her obligations were completed. And she was stubborn enough to stand by what she had said.

Rosalie and Alice knew Bella and tried to tell everyone that their cousin meant exactly what she said and not to expect her appearance even though the two cousins secretly hoped to see Bella come for the first showing.

They all knew that Bella was on another book tour out of the country promoting her new book, The Injured Heart of Lost Hope, but Bella didn't take any time off to come to any of the openings or to any of the interviews to help promote the movie. She had indeed completely washed her hands of it all.

Bella kept up with the news where the movie was concerned and was proud of its success for her cousins and Emmett's sake, but she had enough on her plate that she was dealing with. She missed everyone and was grieving still over the treatment she had received from Edward. And she was honest enough with herself to admit that she had been too trusting even though her instincts were telling her to slow things down. She knew better than to believe that he had changed as quickly as he had said that he had. It turned out that she fell into the same category as other women that trusted a manwhore, a player, a user; not for any other gain other than to pamper his ego so he could manipulate women for his own self physical needs.

Despite all of the admitting who did what wrong, she still couldn't deny how much she missed the damn asshole and was even finally getting around to admitting to herself how much she loved him. It wasn't just that she loved him, but that she was in love with him. Bella had even gone so far as to admit that to her father. She knew that Charlie wouldn't say a word to another soul.

Bella was glad that Charlie listened this time and didn't try to interfere with the situation. Not like he did last time when she had told him about how Edward had treated her in the beginning when they had first met. After all of the happenings from that interference, Charlie swore to her that he would never take any action ever again unless she was comfortable with him doing so. That gave Bella a comfort level to let her deal with the current situation she finds herself in and with her mixed-up emotions.

She knew that she should reach out to Rosalie and Alice to congratulate them on the success of the movie, but she didn't want to take the chance to hear anything about Edward, or to listen to them trying to convince her to come back to L. A. Her heart wasn't in a place just yet where she could hear anything about him: good or bad. And she definitely wasn't in a place to even be near him.

Edward marched into his office and ordered his PA to call down to tell both of his brothers to meet him in his office immediately. It didn't take long for both Jasper and Emmett to arrive and for Edward to get down to business.

Edward felt like he finally had found a way to be able to get Bella back and he wasn't going to give up until she stood in front of him and listened to what he had to say.

"What's the big rush, brother?" Jasper asked while appearing a bit anxious about what could be Edward's problem.

"Yeah, bro, what's got your panties in a twist this early in the morning?"

Edward picked up the book he had laying on his desk and began waving it around in front of his brothers. "This is going to be one of our next projects. I want you, Jasper, making the deal and I want you Emmett to get your crew and actors set up for doing the movie."

"Are you asking me to deal with another temperamental writer to acquire the rights to their book?" Jasper asked because he had dealt with enough in the past but with what had happened with Isabella Swan, he was not too keen on dealing with another writer at the present time.

"It's not just any writer, it's one that we've dealt with in the past."

"Okay, I'll bite. Who is the writer?" Jasper asked while Emmett stayed silent as he was trying to see the title of the book and who had written it.

Suddenly, Edward put the book down on his desk and before he could say another word both Jasper and Emmett saw the title and the name of the author.

"Oh, hell no. Not now, not ever again." Jasper growled at his brother. And Emmett just looked at Edward like he had grown two heads.

"Edward, after what has happened in the past between the two of you, you are actually wanting to approach her again? Didn't you learn your lesson the last time? She is refusing to talk with Rosalie or Alice for anyone to even have a chance to try to clear up your last misunderstanding with her. And Bella's silence is hurting both Rosalie and Alice." Emmett contributed his opinion to Edward's crazy idea.

"Have either of you read this book yet?" Edward asked them to which they shook their head no. "Then I suggest that you do so. I believe that it will be another Oscar along with other awards.

"It's well written, covers an area in Industry that greatly affect women and it's gripping, interest holding from start to finish.

"Once you do that then come back and tell me that we have to pass it by." Edward told them before dismissing them by turning his back on them.

A/N: Bella has stood by her declaration of leaving everything having to do with the movie behind; that she through with it all. She has moved on to her next project. Edward is finally getting help to change his ways and is determined to work to get Bella back into his life.

Thanks for reading.
