I DREAM OF RAINBOWS
Disclaimer: The Cullen's, the Swans, and most of the characters mentioned in the story that are known from Stephanie Meyer's beloved Twilight Saga, are all hers and hers alone. I neither have nor wish to pass them off as mine. I do appreciate the fact that she did bring them to life and allows us to play with them in our imaginations. The only thing I will claim is the current storyline.
The awesome and talented dowlingnana searched out my errors and corrected them.
"It's well written, covers an area in Industry that greatly affect women and it's gripping, interest holding from start to finish.
"Once you do that then come back and tell me that we have to pass it by." Edward told them before dismissing them by turning his back on them.
CHAPTER 66: MOVING TOWARDS HOPE
Emmett and Jasper looked at each other before looking at Edward's back, both wondering what was going on with their brother. They knew that he was missing Bella and was trying to think of a way to get a hold of her. It was then that they realized that this was his way of accomplishing that.
With that realization, they both turned to leave the office. However, before closing the door Jasper remarked, "Edward, if this is so important to you then I'll look at the story and see what I can do to try to arrange a meeting with Mark Strollman, Bella's agent."
"Yeah, Bro, I'll give a read through the story and see what might be able to be done with it. I'll give you an honest opinion in a day or two." Emmett offered as a way of letting Edward know that he was going to try to help with getting Bella back.
"Okay, and Jasper, don't go to her agent first this time; go to her publisher, then maybe back to her agent." Edward stated it as an order rather than as a request.
"Why go through the publisher this time instead of the agent like we normally do?"
"Well, I would think that would be obvious. Bella is doing the book tour, like any other writer does, because of the demand from the publisher. So, that indicates that the publisher has a greater influence on the writer than the agent would have.
"The agent can advise the writer, can negotiate deals for the writer, but in the long run works for the writer. However, the writer, in a manner of speaking, works for the publisher. It's the same principle that is used with actors that are under contract on promoting a movie; the studio or production company is the boss and lays out what the actor will do. So, go through the publisher."
Jasper, of course, had gone through a publisher before when the writer had been unreachable or if the writer had died and there had been no heirs left to contact. But approaching Bella through her publisher was going to be an entirely different experience and not one that he was sure that he was looking forward to doing.
After getting acquainted with Bella as he has, Jasper knew that she was going to be very upset with all of them even more than what she was now. He felt certain that she was going to rip everyone involved a new asshole because of the route that Edward is wanting taken to bring Bella back into his reach.
As Jasper and Emmett left Edward's office they headed straight to Jasper's office where Jasper voiced his opinions about how Bella was going to react to the steps that Edward wanted.
"She isn't going to be happy that's for damn sure, bro. However, I would suggest that before we make any moves whatsoever, that we should have a read-through of the book to see what has our brother so excited other than wanting to get his ladylove back. And I really do hope that there is more to this other than it being a move to only get in front of Bella once more." Emmett suggested without adding any other comment before walking out of the office.
Emmett left Jasper's office and went to the bookstore near the office to get a copy of the book to follow through with his suggestion. He was sincerely hoping that Edward wanted this to be a project based on the merits of the book and what it had to say.
Emmett did get two copies of Bella's new book, one for Jasper and one for himself. Each man had a habit of making notes in the margin of whatever material they were reading which helped them to determine how workable the material might be.

After talking with his brothers, Edward was satisfied that his plan was now moving in the right direction to be able to get with Bella. He knew that she was going to be completely ticked off because of the method that he was demanding to be used. But what option had she left him when she refused to accept calls from her cousins or any of the Cullen's?
Enough time, in his opinion, has passed for Bella to get over her mad. However, he knew for a certainty that going through her agent was the wrong move to make. She would blow any suggestions that Mark Strollman made off without a second thought. However, with the publisher okaying the contract then Bella wouldn't have any choice but to cooperate with talking with management from Cullen Productions.
Yes, now, he was indeed happy with his plan and the fact that he knew once Jasper and Emmett read the book that they would be on board to do the project. They would see that it wasn't just about getting Bella to talk with them, although that was his primary objective, but that the project had a lot of merit on its own.

Bella was starting to realize that she was letting the depression get to her. She was missing talking with Rosalie and Alice. They all had always had a close relationship and communicated often with each other. And to be honest, she realizes that it was by her choice that she had cut off everyone but her father because of how she felt about how Edward had used her.
He had said that he wanted to be exclusive, that he had wanted to see how far and how deep what they were feeling for each went, but it turned out that all he had done was lie and lead her on just to have sex with her. She didn't mean anything to him other than being another notch on his bedpost because she was unique; she had refused in the beginning to bow down to his demands. Something that she had promised herself that she would never be or do.
Realizing how gullible she felt she had been made her feel dirty, stupid and used each time she thought back to that conversation she had overheard.
Arriving back from Vancouver Bella knew that all of her contractual obligations towards the project were finished. She was waiting for Rosalie and Alice to return to L. A. before deciding what her next move was going to be. So, her quick trip home to Seattle to check on things and finding out that Edward was there taking care of business was a surprise. His invitation to dinner and then what occurred afterwards, she thought, meant something to him the same as it had to her. However, that turned out to be a joke on her.
True Edward had warned her that he was going to be busy upon their return to L. A and wouldn't be in contact with her much, she did at least expect to hear from him once in a while. And then for him not to return her calls or texts at all began to worry her. That was what led to her going to his office and the overhearing of his phone call with another woman and how he was going to be taking care of her that very night was her breaking point and caused her to snap altogether.
Her embarrassment was so great that she didn't feel that she could see or talk to anyone about it. That was when she decided to cut off communication with her cousins. The whole incident was too hard to even talk about let alone think about.
But everything she had told Edward about not wanting to have anything to do with him or his company, she meant.
But even though Bella felt that she was justified in her feelings and reactions, all the time that has passed has done nothing to eliminate how she felt about Edward and how much she missed him, his family and most of all, her cousins.
She needed to decide if she could overlook how he had treated her and to return to see Rosalie and Alice. Just because she was seeing them didn't mean that she had to have anything to do with the snake in the grass. She reasoned in her mind.
After having reached this point in her thinking, Bella wasn't sure if she was immediately ready to reach out to her cousins or if she was going to need more time, even though she did miss them like hell. However, the thought passed through her mind that the longer she waited to do something about her stages of depression then the more depressed she would become and might not do anything at all to resolve the problem.
It became a vicious circle of an emotional rollercoaster for Bella as she was trying to make a decision that was needed to bring her back from the pits of the hell that she felt like she was in.
With a shake of her head, Bella looked around her hotel room then with a sigh rose to start getting ready for another promo appearance that her publisher had arranged.
This whole book tour was something that was also wearing on her nerves and adding to her current state of mind. She wanted to go home and just have some alone time before going to see Charlie and seek his advice. Her dad never failed her in giving sound scenarios and then leaving her to make her own choices.
Yes, she did need to talk with Charlie face to face and make a decision to get beyond the mess that she has put herself in.

Both Emmett and Jasper, after reading Bella's new book, had to agree with their brother. Edward was correct about trying to get Bella to agree with letting Cullen Productions make a movie of this new book as well. The problem was going to be how to approach Bella and get her to listen to their proposal.
Since the two were meeting in Jasper's office to compare notes and hopefully come up with some idea of how to handle getting Bella to listen to one of them about allowing the company to make her current book into a movie like they did with her last book.
"So, bro, we are in agreement that Edward was right in his assessment of this story and the fact that we need to try to gain the right to make a movie of it. My question is this, how do we get Bella to agree to our doing it?" Emmett questioned with the desire sounding in his voice of wanting to make the movie, but also revealing a bit of doubt as to whether the author was going to be agreeable about the project.
"Yeah, but I have no idea how to get a hold of Bella let alone how to be able to approach her to get her to agree to let us have a shot at this. Not after the misunderstanding that happened between her and Edward has anyone heard from her.
"If you remember she swore that she wouldn't have anything else to do with Cullen Productions or anyone connected to the company.
"And, since Rosalie and Alice were still connected to the company at the time, she even cut all communications with them as well. So, how would you suggest we do this? I mean you can help by coming up with some suggestions also." Jasper tossed back at Emmett with a bit of trepidation ringing clear in his voice and showing some in his posture.
"The only thing that I can think of at the moment is to talk with Rosalie and Alice to see if they might be able to point us in the right direction." Emmett told his brother.
Jasper agreed with Emmett, and they made arrangements to meet after the workday to get together with both women and lay the problem before them to see what they might be able to suggest.

Edward was anxious to know what his brothers thought of his idea to get Bella to agree with the company making a movie of her second book. He needed for this plan to work so he would have the chance to make things right with Bella. She needed to know that he was having a working conversation on the phone and not making a date with another woman.
He still hadn't gotten close to admitting why getting Bella to listen to him was important, but he knew that it was. Somehow it would be the means to bring him great happiness or a lot of sorrow. That much he was willing to admit.
If he had been more open to his parents or brothers, they might have been able to tell him exactly what he was feeling and why it was important to him to bring Bella back into his life.
A/N: Edward and Bella are slowly starting to realize what they truly mean to each other. What kind of idea might Rosalie and Alice come up with to be able to get to Bella? If Bella talked with Charlie about her depression, what do you think he might tell her to do about the Edward situation?
Thanks for reading and commenting.
