"I'll have it down in 3 months!"

Remember when he said that. Yeah, he definitely regrets saying it now. It's been 4 months. Yes, that's right. Four fucking months! He hasn't been able to control it fully but it feels like he's controlled 20 percent. And that wasn't good. Well, for him anyways.

"Maybe I'll go ask Benn for help. Haven't talked to him in a while. Then again, he may be still mad I tried to shoot him with his gun."

"Then he started beating the shit out of Yasopp while he was asleep."said Benn as he burst out into laughter.

"The captain really did that?"asked one of the crewmates

"No wonder he sleeps alone."said another crewmate.

"Benn! Where are you!"

Benn groaned. His day was going great until now.

"Naruto. What do you want?"

"Ouch, that stung. Just saying hello."

"Very funny. Now, what do you really want?"

"Heheheh, you got me there. I just wanted some tips."

"On what exactly?"

"Controlling conqueror's haki."

"You made that far. I thought you'd have given up by now. It's a miracle."

"Yeah yeah very funny. Now will you give me the tips or not."

"Let me think about it. No."

"Why not!"

"You've already been told on how to control it. Why would you need help?"

"Shanks' theory is bullshit! It doesn't make sense. You have to be strong for it to also be strong? What kind of a theory is that?"

"It's the only theory we got right now about it so I'd suggest you follow it."

"Ugh, fine. But I'll be back."

"And I'll just keep saying no."

Stupid Benn. Is it so bad to ask for a little advice. And because of that, he's number one on his prank list. He thought back to what Shank's said.

"This type of haki is supposedly triggered by emotions. For example, your haki was unlocked by pure emotion. You were angry. But to me, the best way on how to really control it is to be strong."

Wait a minute. Pure emotion. Of course. How could he forget. That was his solution. That was how he would control it. Fuck Shanks' way. He'll do it his instead.

Now he would just have to think of something that would make his blood boil. Okay,there were many things that made his blood boil but he would just have to think of the worst one.

"Okay. Now which to choose."

There was Shanks' orders. Like that one time he told him to run around the island with Uta hot on his trail. Then she eventually got hurt because of him. That made his blood boil but not too much to make that angry. Then there was that time Shank's and his crew were busy laughing their asses off while having fun while he was suffering. That also made him angry but not too much. Then there was that deadly disease. The one that killed his family, his people, his sister. He started to grit his teeth and clenched his arms so hard that his fists turned white. He could feel the power he's emitting and to be honest, it felt good. Very good. Fuck the royal family, fuck the world government. Fuck all of them. He'll show them. No, he'll show them all.

"Naruto. Hey Naruto! Calm down will ya!"

"Huh?"

"I said calm down! You're making the whole island shake,"said Shank's.

He powered down. That felt so amazing. It felt like he was on top of the world. Like no one could stop him.

"What were you even thinking anyways doing that."

"I was testing something out. And looks like I was right."

"On what?"

"Don't worry about it. Now, could you leave and mind your own business."

"Harsh. C'mon guys, let's get back to the party before Uta gets rid of all the drinks."said Shank's as he walked away.

"Before you leave,if whatever happened happens again, ignore it please!"he said shouting to them.

Shanks said nothing but Naruto knew he heard him loud and clear.

"Now, time to get back to training."

Shanks was having enough. Earthquake after earthquake after earthquake. He was having enough. If Naruto kept doing this, he wouldn't get to drink.

"Benn! Get out here!"yelled Shank's.

"Yes captain?"Benn said mockingly.

"Any idea why Naruto is doing this because he's driving me crazy."

"Nope no idea."

"Well you said he came to talk to you. What did he want?"

"He wanted some tips on how to control conqueror's haki. Apparently, he thought your theory was bullshit and left when I told him I won't give him any."

"Why didn't you give him?"

"He already knew what he needed to do. What can I help with?"

"Fair point. But why is he doing this?"

"There's one possible reason."

"Say it. Anything would help right now."

"He's discovered another way."

He went silent. Surely he wouldn't have. He came up with the theory years ago when he was training his own. Surely he hasn't found another way.

"Thanks for the idea Benn. I'll investigate it tonight."

"Need any help?"

"No. I'll do it on my own."

"Alright."said Benn as he left.

If Benn's idea is right, that kid was beyond impressive.

"Naruto, could you stop doing whatever you're doing to the island? I'm trying to take a nap."

"I'm training Uta. And whatever I'm doing is part of my training."

"Well if I can't enjoy my nap then you won't enjoy your training either."She said as she picked up some stones.

"What are you doing with those…"he was forced to dodge as something flew right past his head.

"stones. Are you trying to kill me Uta!"

"You've mastered that dodging haki or whatever it is. You'll be fine."

"And what if you do hit me?"

"Then you have to stop your training today."

"I'm, I don't think…"he dodged again.

"Deal. Now get to running."

He sighed. Just when his training was starting to get good.

Both were panting. They had run around the island who knows how many times but unfortunately forUta, no stone had touched him. That meant he could get back to his training.

"Naruto." Pant. "You shoes," Pant. "Are untied."

"What?"

He looked down. He didn't have any laces on his shoes so how could… oh no.

Thud*

"Fell for the oldest trick in the book."Uta said laughing.

Thud*

"Looks like you're finished as well."said Naruto, also laughing.

"Shut up."

Then a silence fell. Sure it wasn't what they'd like but both felt comfortable not breaking it. Well they were until Naruto decided to break it.

"Uta, I got something to ask."

"Ask away."

"What's your goal in life?"

"My goal? Well I've thought about it for a long time and decided I'd like to be a singer."

"Figures."

"Well what's yours Mr I know it all?"

Back to this conversation again. These things were such a drag. Why does he even have to have a goal anyway? Can't he just live without a goal? Nah. That'd make life so boring. Now back to the conversation. What is his goal. He thought back again. Back to his kingdom, his family, his people. The world fucking government, the disgusting royal family that wasn't so royal now. Why couldn't they have just warned them about the disease? They could have all lived peacefully and both the world government and the royal family would have still gotten the money. Wait a minute. Peacefully. That was it. He'd finally found his goal.

"Peace."

"What?"

"I want peace. I want the whole world to live peacefully. No wars, no deaths. None. I don't want people to go through what I did."

"Wow. I thought you'd say that you wanted to be king of the pirates or something."

"Those dreams are for babies."

Hachoo*

"Did I just catch a cold? Grandpa! I think I just caught a cold!"

"Shanks said that when I find my goal, it will make my training easier."

"Let's test that out,shall we? Five second head start. Five, three, one."

"Don't cheat!"yelled Naruto as he ran.

"Stop crying!"yelled Uta following.

"So that's your goal eh Naruto. I'll be watching you in the near future."said the man hiding in the shadows.

Unaware to the mysterious man, another person was watching him closely behind.

"Come out, I know you're there."

"Seems like he's a sensor huh. Impressive."thought Shank's.

The man who was closely watching him came out from the bushes. He wore a black cloak, with a white shirt and brown pants. He was heavily built and had red hair with a growing goatee. The man recognized him immediately.

"What did I do to deserve your acquaintance, red hair Shanks."

"You can start by explaining why you're watching my student."

"Your student you say."

"Don't ignore my question."Shank's said with a hint of anger."

"I wasn't. And for why I'm watching him, it's none of you're business."

"Then it seems like I'll have to cut you down."Shanks said, unsheathing his sword.

"I didn't come for a fight. I was just interested in seeing the making of a legendary pirate."

"And how would you know?"

"It's just a hunch. Now, I think I overstayed my visit. Goodbye… for now."The mysterious man said disappearing.

Shit. He let his guard. He won't again because something about that statement told him that he'd see the guy soon. Very very soon.

"Uh Shank's?"

"Huh?"

He looked behind to see two figures standing there, staring at him.

"What?"

"What are you doing? And why are you sweating?"

He was sweating? He hadn't realized it.

"Uh, just came back from a run."he lied.

"You don't even run. You hate running."

"Who said I hate running?"

"Yesterday when Naruto asked if you could run with him you said you hated running."

Oh yeah, he did.

"Well now I like running. Now go away, I'm trying to think. Go on now. Shoo."He said, gesturing for them to leave.

"Weirdo."muttered Naruto.

"I heard that you little shit!"

Interested in seeing him. What did he mean by that? As far as he knew, Naruto only knew four people. His brother, that polar bear, the old man who he stayed with and himself with his crewmates. He wasn't counting his family and the people from the White city because they were dead. He'd have to be cautious before he could carry out his plan and just to be safe, he wouldn't be carrying out his plan here.

"Hello? Earth to Shank's."said Benn

"What?"

"Did you even hear what I said?"

"Yeah. I heard everything."

"What did I say then?"

Silence.

"Yeah, that's what I thought."

"Sorry. I was just thinking."

"Thinking about what? What have you been thinking about that has you spacing out the whole day?"

He looked around, scanning to see if anyone was watching him.

"Can I trust you with this?"

"That isn't a question I can answer. If it's something stupid, I'll scream it for the whole island to know."

"It's not something stupid."he said, becoming serious.

"Then you can one hundred percent trust me with this."

He sighed. It was good for someone he could trust to know, especially Benn who was the second smartest in the crew, behind him of course.

"Earlier, I met someone. I don't know how to describe him but he wore a black robe."

"You didn't see his face?"

He shook his head.

"It was fully covered."

"Ok. So what was he doing?"

"He was just watching Naruto like he was a pile of treasure."

"And why?"

I don't know. Something about seeing the making of a legendary pirate."

"Any Intel on his skills?"

"No. We didn't get to fight but he disappeared out of thin air and he could sense me watching him. I don't know if it was haki but I do know, he's dangerous. He shouldn't be near Naruto. Ever."

"And what about the plan?"

"We'll wait a little but, we won't do it here. Another island. Right now, we'll have to keep a look out for that guy if he ever appears again. Have some of our crewmates watch Naruto in shifts."

"Got it."

Kami, he was right. The kid would really be the death of him. But he wouldn't die without trying. One thing that was right by the mysterious man, he would be a legendary pirate. And he'd be damned if he died without seeing it.
